The last message I posted seems to have filled up the old thread so I thought I'd start a new one.

Since bump size was our last topic, I thought this might do for a thread title.

OP posts:

Dylansmum - so sorry to hear about your friend, I hope you get some comfort from going back to be with your friends and family.

Take care

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 14/12/2007 11:28

DLM I'm so sorry to hear about Chrissy. I'm sure she knew she was a much loved lady by all of her friends and family. Good luck with your wedding and I hope you get a chance to relax soon!

GardenAngel4 · 14/12/2007 11:38

Morning all, 3 hours to go to my scan...!

sophiewd so glad yours went well. Has your due date changed at all?

ernest think you may have gone but really felt for you reading your post about the report. Awful.

josie57 and hedgehog!!! Can't believe what a small world this is - I was born in Cuckfield and spent 18 years in Haywards Heath!! I feel more detective work coming on!!

nettiehay · 14/12/2007 11:41

Morning all,

Ernest, I'm very happy that you spoke to the teacher re: the report. I'm afraid that I would have cowered in the corner and accepted the report - but maybe I will become more forthright when it comes to my future children?

Goingfor3 - I was shopping last night and didn't have the slightest inclination to even look at baby clothes - whereas before I was pg I would always stop and check them out - maybe I'm in baby shock or something? Now that I'm going to have one of my own, I'm not that interested?

Has anyone else got baby brain yet? I had people turn up for a meeting this morning that I had completely forgotten to cancel, and was still trying to chase someone who hadn't turned up before I remembered that they couldn't make it and that's why I had to cancel! Woops!

debinaustria · 14/12/2007 11:52

nettie the good news is that you're not alone with baby brain - the bad news is that it doesn't get any better once they're born - in fact usually worse.

Rolf · 14/12/2007 12:28

Dylansluckymum - I'm so sorry to hear that Chrissy has died. I hope she had a peaceful death and that her family have lots of love around them. Thinking of you.

josey · 14/12/2007 13:52

Dylansluckymum so sorry to hear about Chrissy, my thoughts are with you. Will you stay in Canada now till after your Wedding?

Debs you must be worn out with all the decorating hope you get a chance to take it easy soon.

Gardenangel hope scan goes well.

Baby Brain set in almost 9 years ago and has yet to leave me unforunately it just seems to get worse

I found out last night a friend of mine is due the end of June so happy for her, her 1st baby was 11lb2oz though so dreading to find out what size number 2 will be

Josie57 · 14/12/2007 14:21

DLM - so sorry to hear your news. I'm sure you'll take great comfort from your friends and family once you go back to Canada. I'm sending you hugs and I hope all goes well for you.

Garden Angel - I too was born in Cuckfield! This is a spookily small world. When did you leave HH? I guess I technically left in the early 1990's but I am back there regularly. This is just too mad!

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 14/12/2007 17:04

I really have a brain of mush if I have one at all. I had my veggies delivered this morning and knew there would be a cauliflower so had planned on making cauliflower cheese. I bought the cheese yesterday, looked in the fridge couldn't find it so accused the children of taking it and leaving it lying around somewhere. I found it a few minutes later in a cupboard - I put it there yesterday. Last week the shopping now the cheese - how will I cope when the baby arrives!!!!

Upsidedowndetective · 14/12/2007 18:19

Hi everyone

Dylansluckymum - sorry to hear about your friend. I'm glad that you were able to see her recently. I hope Chrsitmas and wedding go as well as can be expected.

Ernest, hope the drive went well. Well done you for standing up to the teacher.

Sophie, glad your scan went well too. Garden angel, how was yours?

Well done for decorating Debs. Are painters as expensive in Austria as here?

Welcome Poppy. You're two days before me!

Has anybody heard from Looney lately? I don't feel like we've heard from her for a while.

I am exhausted. Had a lovely day: Tumbletots, buying Christmas decorations and taking ds to 'Hogwash' at the Chelsea theatre, which was perfect for the under 5s (his best friend invited us, it was wonderful although ds kept on wandering on to the stage!)

But ds missed out on his nap - which meant I did too - and now both of us are rather fractious ...

Upsidedowndetective · 14/12/2007 18:33

Poor ds. Just discovered why he was really fractious. I have another cold so can't smell anything.

He had a poo right up to his shoulder blades ... (at least a year since that happened) Those of you who are pregnant with their dc1s, it doesn;t happen very often, but when it does, it's no fun!

poppy34 · 14/12/2007 19:04

ah.. everyone is being so welcoming - should have joined you sooner .
Waves to everyone .

josie57 -sending you positive vibes for test on 2nd.

am impressed by everyone decorating -its all I can do to keep awake past 7.30 and meant to be cooking for xmas over this weekend . Anyone starting to feel any less tired yet?

Lazylou · 14/12/2007 19:06

Hi everyone, feels like I've been gone for ages! The internet was cut off for what feels like years and unfortunately the budget wouldn't extend to having it put back on. DH finally sorted it for me 2 days ago, so here I am!

I think I last posted at the beginning of the old thread, so have missed loads and loads. There's no way I'm going to be able to catch up on it all so sorry if I have missed something big.

Had a scan about 2 weeks ago and bean seems ok. All the nasty symptoms have gone but still seem to be knackered all the time. I am 16 weeks today, another 4 and we'll be halfway there! Got a thing about vinegar at the moment, gherkins, onions, beetroot etc. Ran out of all of it yesterday and found myself drinking straight out of the vinegar bottle .

As I say, hope all is well with everyone, looking forward to catching up soon!

GardenAngel4 · 14/12/2007 19:21

Well, I am officially pregnant! Scan was great and had a really nice lady for once. Relief is unbelievable. Am actually 13 weeks and 3 days so new due date is June 17.

I think it's a boy. But thought that the whole way through last time and had a girl.

josie57 spooky! I left in 1990. My parents still live there so am back every now and then!

upsidedown you have my total empathy/sympathy! DD has had full on diarrhoea (sp?) since yesterday. have already thrown one entire outfit away and am fast running out of vests!

xx

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 14/12/2007 19:24

Congratulations GA4 and how lovely to be more pregnant than you thought!

hedgehog1979 · 14/12/2007 22:10

Think I may have decieved you not in Haywards Heath but [whispers] crawley, decided to give birth in Haywards Heath as everything is under one roof as opposed to having all antenatal apts in Crawley but giving birth in East Surrey.

Congratulations to all who have had scans, good luck for all those with them coming up.

Have had to fight for laptop as DH has had today off work and is obsessed with checking his stats despite it being a DAY OFF.

Have a lovely weekend, as punishment I am sending DH in the attic to find all the christmas decs, lights, tree etc which we haven't used since we moved here 2 years ago - was a bit bar humbug last year and year before we had been in the house 2 weeks!!

debinaustria · 15/12/2007 09:19

Morning everyone

Hope you're all well today, what are you up to? Eldest ds has gone skiing with dh, youngest is here with me as he's not 100% so I'm just about to put a dvd on for him and then I can go and paint.

Baby feels really heavy today, anyone else feeling like this, I don't remember feeling like this so early. Do those support bands work?

sophiewd · 15/12/2007 13:39

Hi all, hope everyone is having a nice quiet Staurday. Been busy running around after panicky B&B guests (they are off to a wedding) but they have bought me a tin of lovely biscuits to pig out on this afternoon, and won't feel too guilty as have been to an aqua natal class this morning.

Deb - hope your DS gets well soon, have you been skiing yet or are you waiting awhile?

poppy34 · 15/12/2007 15:21

deb - when you say heavy baby do you mean that lurch you get in your tummy when you get up too quickly? Am starting to get that and was surprised as didnt think I was THAT big yet.

And also interested to hear what you're doing re skiing -have opted to veg on our ski hol in feb as thought safer (the midwife said to me it wasn't so much the skiing itself, more the risk of others running into you). So a week sleeping in and reading... very tough

debinaustria · 15/12/2007 16:03

I thought I'd be desperate to get on the slopes but I just keep thinking what if? The Dr said that skiing isn't a problem - -it's just if you fall. I don't usually fall but you just can't rely on others can you? Imagining how I'd feel if something happened makes me really not want to do it, but dh and the boys don't quite understand. Austrian women seem to think the same as me and the men think why not!!It's obviously a big part of our lives in the winter so this winter is quite different.

Dh took some lovely photos this morning, I'll put some on my profile later

poppy34 · 15/12/2007 16:25

deb - swym as would be too awful if somethign did happen. I'm a bit too novice to feel that confident.

looking forward to the photos -it must be gorgeous to have snow for xmas - at moment making dh make a fire as just cold but not v. picturesque here in sw london

Paromapu · 15/12/2007 17:02

Hiya id love it to be cold here for xmas Its
24C today but as its the staff xmas meal its nice cause i can wear something pretty without having to put on layers and layers of winter woolies on top!!!!
And yes i did find a nice outfit that doesnt make me feel like a whale!!!

May see snow next week though as off to Holland to visit mil*fil It should be nice she is feeling positive at the moment lets hope she still feels well I cant help thinking all time though that it might be..... you know what but then remind myself enjoy the time that is left

Well on happier note xmas concert went well and parents loved it

Debs I dont think i would ski well i actually cant i can only snowboard but having lived in the french alps and snowboarded its not always you you have to worry about!!!

off to pamper self for this evening might even have a glass of wine as havent so far as keep feeling too guilty to do it Dp says he doesnt mind but lots of you have and its not that bad for bump is it?
Enough of my ramblings have nice sat eve xxx

tassisssss · 15/12/2007 20:45

hello, can I join in please?

i've been lurking on and off for weeks but thought it was finally time to jump in and say hello!

I'm expecting number 3 on 13th June. I have a son who'll be 5 in April and a 15 month old dd. Dd took about 2 years of TTC so I think I'm still in shock/denial at being pregnancy so quickly again!

I feel utterly enormous! I'm almost out of all my non maternity clothes but the mat stuff mostly still looks ridiculous so it's that horrible in-between stage.

On the subject of clothes, hedgehog I'm also 6 foot (well just under) and I have quite a lot of long enough maternity clothes. Have you looked in next? I fit quite a lot of their long length but they do extra long too in some of the styles. Also H&M are pretty long.

Look foward to chatting!
