Hi gals,
Generally sick and tired here, had a very busy day. Ended up this afternoon with an unsuccessful shopping trip in town and me bursting into tears because I was tired, sick and hungry and I just wanted to be at home.
Have to go out tonight for a work thing with dp's surgery, so I think I will go and have a nap on the sofa

Mirage · 25/11/2004 19:30

Hi,

Today was my last day at work til spring. It will be nice to be at home with dd,but I'll miss the money.

Welshmum I'm glad to hear that your scan went well.Good luck to everyone else due for scans in the next few days too.

I spent a lovely afternoon with dd,at her little friends 1st Birthday party & got home feeling that all was well with the world ect-only to go to the loo & find that I'd started bleeding.

I had a tiny bit of spotting 2 wks ago & had an emergency scan & all was ok.This is a lot more than I had before & my heart just about fell through the floor when I saw it.According to my lmp,I am 13wks today & today is the day that my period would normally start if I wasn't pregnant.

There isn't much I can do tonight (& why do these things always happen at night or weekends?),but I will go & see my GP tomorrow.I feel all shakey & just want to go to bed now.

Sorry-this is a 'me me me' post.

megi · 25/11/2004 19:38

Oh Mirage - how awful - am thinking of you! Make sure you get an appointent for first thing in the morning. - Could you not go to A&E? - I don't know if that is a silly suggestion - I have no clue about the protocal for this kind of situation. What about NHS Direct?

Mirage · 25/11/2004 20:11

Megi-thanks.

If I go to A&e,they won't be able to scan me,so I'll see my Dr tomorrow & see what he says.I had 2 heavy bleeds like this with dd at about 8.5 & 10 wks & my mum bled whilst pregnant too.So I'm hoping that it is just one of those things.

Also, from my experience with dd,after I'd had a scan because of the 1st lot of bleeding, they wouldn't scan me again after the 2nd lot,as they said that they don't like to do too many scans & if the baby had survived one bout of bleeding,it would survive another.Helpful or what?I had to wait until I was 20wks for my next scan.

Oh for a bleed-free pregnancy!

megi · 25/11/2004 20:19

Well fingers crossed for you!

My first scan is tomorrow. Am really excited but nervous as well. My sil had a missed miscarriage and only found out when she went for her scan - how horrid. Luckily they went on to have a gorgeous daughter. I still feel pregnant so I think I should be fine - 10.20am tomorrow - roll on!

teabelly · 25/11/2004 21:20

Evening ladies,

Scan was fab today but my word what big feet blob has!! Sure I'm going to have alot of fun in the coming months with him/her kicking me with those massive plates

Welshmum and Bubbaloo fantastic news about your scans too...must admit I was getting abit worried about you Welshmum!

JennyWren how did yours go today?

Megi GOODLUCK for tomorrow (and anyone else having one tomorrow or over the weekend)

Best go as it's my turn to read the betime story tonight and ds is sooo overtired - great. Take care and I'll catch up with you guys later.

MrsWednesday · 25/11/2004 23:35

(((hugs))) Mirage. So sorry you're going through the stress of bleeding again. You obviously know that it doesn't mean bad news as you've been through it before, but it's still horrible and unsettling. I had a lot of bleeding with my DS, including a large amount at 15 weeks - I went to A&E and they did give me another scan even though I'd just had one at 14 weeks. So you never know, they might do the same at your hospital.

If you go to the doctors they might be able to try and find the heartbeat as reassurance too.

Sending you a big, supportive hug.x

sweetheart · 26/11/2004 08:29

Morning ladies,

Welshie, thanks for e-mailing back. I didn't get it until this morning coz I was at college yesterday but I'm so pleased everything went well.

Glad to hear that other scans are going well too.

Tessie, so sorry to hear your feeling terrible. Hopefully it will pass soon.

Yesterday was the 1st day that I felt OK - apart from a terrible bout of trapped wind in the evening but no sickness . So I'm hoping today is the same - although like evryone else I'm paranoid about the fact I'm NOT feeling sick now!!! shheesh - there's just no pleasing some people is there!!!

Really need to do loads of work today and revision for my exam I'm gonna fail on Wednesday

Uwila · 26/11/2004 10:15

Morning everyone. Mirage, how did the GP go? What a horible night.

On another topic, that idea of a meet-up seems to have died out. Is anyone interested? I can only do weekend and anywhere from London to Middlesex to Surrey is fine with me. I'd like to bring DD too (20 months).

Tessiebear · 26/11/2004 10:39

Morning all!
Mirage - hope you are ok and that your bleeding has stopped!
Sweetheart - know what you mean about the sickness - on Monday i had a whole day of feeling fine and started to worry that something was wrong. Tuseday OMG - have never felt so sick in whole life ! It seems to have levelled off a bit - but i think that it is down to the travel bands i have been wearing. I thought that it was all in my head and then i took them off to have a bath and was nearly sick! (they must be doing something)
Forgot to say yesterday but Happy Thanksgiving to the US Mums!
Hope you all have a good weekend!
Lipstick - poor you on your shopping trip - can relate exactly to how you feel though!

Uwila · 26/11/2004 11:05

Does anyone else have a dilemma on dounbe pushchair vs. buggy board?

I think I've decided to give buggy board a go. We have a nanny and she travels to a variety of activities on the train (tumble tots, jo jingle, etc.) and I just don't think it would be fair for me to ask her to take a double pram on the train.

We may even have to give up the activities for a while if the train travel is too much. Or I may have to break down and buy a new car and give her mine. But, that REALLY isn't in the budget.

Anyway, DD will be 2 years 2 months when this one arrives. Anyone else have a similar age gap?

Uwila · 26/11/2004 11:06

dounbe=double

berolina · 26/11/2004 11:36

Morning all...
Mirage - thinking of you, hope you are OK. Getting bleeding is always a horrible shock isn't it?
Welshmum - glad you had such a lovely scan. Sweetheart - glad you're feeling better. Good luck with revision...
Again it's my work-at-home day and again I slept all morning - was awake in the night though worrying about the last couple of weeks at work where I seem to have had pregnancy brain and had forgotten some things that some students had asked me for. It is a whole lot of organisation of a million different things I have to do on top of the teaching and all that comes with that, but I still felt pretty bad about not having given such a good impression over the last couple of weeks. Then in the morning I woke from a horribly realistic dream in which I was bleeding - lots of red blood - and was and am really shaken by that. (Sorry Mirage, don't want to trivialise your real bleeding). Yesterday I had to press/wipe quite hard repeatedly on my belly button in order to get some fluff out (sorry, not nice) - the skin went all red - and am paranoid the pressure will have hurt little one. Have a headache, am exhausted and generally feeling c**p. Sorry, just wanted to share that with you all - gosh, I'm a little ray of sunshine today, aren't I? Oh well...

welshmum · 26/11/2004 12:16

Morning all
I'm thinking of you Mirage and hoping all is well. I had bleeding throughout with dd - up until the 8th month so know a bit about that hideous feeling.
I know what you mean about thinking the sickness/tiredness is over and then wham bam a really bad day. I think how tired I am is reflected in how nauseous I feel. If I'm good and don't run around like a fool then I'm usually pretty ok. Too much activity and that's me done for!
Told my dad last night - I'd been putting it off as he has strange reactions to news in general.
'You mad thing' he said 'are you sure you know what you're doing?' He didn't really do delighted. It doesn't upset me too much anymore as I kind of prepare myself for it. My sister and brother more than make up for it anyway. dad is just a bit of an odd bloke really.

Hello everyone!

Lots of hugs to all of you who are feeling a bit rotten at the moment with sickness, bleeds, general-fed-upness.

Am feeling 100% better today. Got home at 6.30pm and went to bed with a cup of soup, toast, hot water bottle and a magazine. I was asleep by 8pm and felt soooooooo much better! I'd recommend it to anyone!

x

sweetheart · 26/11/2004 13:33

Just been to visit my work colleague who had her baby girl on Monday. Shes so beautifull!!!! It's really made me feel broody which is something I've been lacking lately due to feeling crappy!!!!

Luckily my midwife was visiting her while I was there so I took the oppertunity to ask her about my scan on Monday. She said if I am only 9 weeks they will send me back for another scan at 12 weeks to do the neucal fold test which is fab news!!!!!

If thats the case I'm going to ask if I can take dd along to the 12 week scan - she'd love it.
