Oh my gosh. Just spotted an August thread. That makes us one month closer. They probably haven't even started their MS, tiredness, MIGRAINES.... You can guess which one I'll miss the least.

MrsWednesday · 24/11/2004 16:55

Yippee!! Time is definitely moving on fast.

So fast that I'm running out of time to do all the work I need to before hometime....

teabelly · 24/11/2004 16:59

Yeah it's both a small company and it's all blokes too - blokes whose wives stay at home so they don't understand about taking time off for existing children, let alone antinatal appointments! I know I'm entitled, but they won't be happy about it I'm sure, esp as the hand book is quite old and they think that a pg woman can only have 4mths off if you've been employed for under a year...oh when hey ho!

Stallanzii · 24/11/2004 17:08

August Thread!! They must have only just got out of bed so to speak!

MrsWednesday · 24/11/2004 17:15

Challenging times ahead Teabelly....Good luck.

Have fun looking at your baby tomorrow .

LipstickMum · 24/11/2004 17:22

Hi Girls!

haven't made it on all day, dp took the laptop to work Still, I got loads done. I am going to have a go at the charts teabelly gave a link for and get back to you.
By the way, I think Welshie has Wednesday off, so that's probably why she hasn't reported back, nothing to be worried about.
Going to do tests....

LipstickMum · 24/11/2004 17:31

Both charts say a boy for me, but I'm not sure about the second. I guessed the conception date because it didn't seem to work when I put in a due date...?
Can't imagine me with a little boy

LipstickMum · 24/11/2004 17:32

Ok, I put in due date and conception length 287 and it predicted a girl. Gestation is 288 days??

LipstickMum · 24/11/2004 17:34

A due in August thread !!! That makes me feel like an old timer, and we've still got WEEKS to go!!!!!!

LipstickMum · 24/11/2004 17:36

Am talking to myself
Going to see Bridget 2 tonight, cannot wait!!!

Uwila · 24/11/2004 17:38

Oh no. People due in January have weeks to go. We have months. But, the good news is we aren't due in August. Wouldn't like to be 9 months pregnant in the dog days of summer.

BUBBALOO · 24/11/2004 19:36

evening all,
just though i'd let you know about my scan today-it well really well and the baby even waved at us!!
they did a test for downs and told me it was a really good result at 1 in 5036 and a couple of other tests were 1 in 8000+ so i couldnt be happier.
ive also got a lovely little picture(and one for my mum)and a nice big purple bruise on my arm, where they took so much blood.
got my next appointment at the hospital to see the doc in 3 weeks and the next scan will be when im 22 weeks(early feb).
drank so much water before the scan that on the way to the hospital i had to stop at the park to use the loo-how embarrassing is that so i certainly didnt have a full bladder-ha ha!!
good luck to teabelly and jennywren for tomorrow,to sweetheart on monday and anyone else ive missed out.its so hard to keep up with this thread, especially when i can only come on evenings and weekends.
welcome aboard jonahb!
cant believe theres an august thread already-makes it seem like june isnt too far away!!

BUBBALOO · 24/11/2004 19:39

p.s my due date has been brought forward 2 days so now its the 9th of june!!

mrsflowerpot · 24/11/2004 19:55

Hello ladies, hope everyone is well at the moment - lots of scans going on, I still have 2 weeks to wait for mine grrr.

Just popping my head in tonight to say hi and I'm still here, however I must stay off mumsnet for a while as I have more work to do than I know what to do with and it's just not getting done. So if you see me posting, tell me to b*gger off and do some work. Will catch up soon though.

MrsWednesday · 24/11/2004 21:34

Great news Bubbaloo!!! Really pleased for you - so lovely that it waved at you too. It amazes me to see how much the baby is moving around and you can't even feel it.

Hi Mrsflowerpot, glad you are ok. Now get on with that work.

LipstickMum · 25/11/2004 08:29

Morning all!
Bridget Jones was fun, not as good as the first. HOwever Hugh Grant was bloody gorgeous, so that was good and that guy... whatsisname from That Thing Called Love... Paul Nichols, had a brief, brief part in it, so lots of eye candy

Got a busy day ahead today, so probably no MN for me till this afternoon.

Lua · 25/11/2004 09:57

Morning all! Have tons of work to do and a lot of food to prepare to 15 guests! Just wanted to pop in and wish UWILA a HAPPY THANKSGIVEN and everybody else too!

welshmum · 25/11/2004 10:40

Big apologies for not getting on here earlier. Lipstick's right I do have Wednesdays off - I would still have got on our computer and reported on my scan if the bloody thing had been working properly that is. Spent last night shouting at it - 'Let me post a message you damn contraption' I could see all yours and couldn't post.
Anyway scan was LOVELY. It looked so sweet, wriggling around all over the place - I think it has dd's profile - probably another girl??
The sonographer was great. I won't get the risk results for about a month - they do the combined blood test at UCH but she said 'considering my age' (ouch) it was a very good result.
Thanks so much for your concern ladies - it is amazing how important this site has become. How lovely it will be to go through the next few months (and afterwards) with you all xxx

Welshmum, I am so glad all went well with your scan! We did got all worried about you!
Now is only another 6 months to go....
Are you wishing for a gril?

welshmum · 25/11/2004 12:49

I don't mind really Lua. I love dd and another dd would be great as I feel I know what to do with them. But a ds would be fab too. Really don't mind - what about you?

OP posts:
Lua · 25/11/2004 13:16

I had always been a bit afraid of boys... probably because my family is all girls. I thought it would be fun though, to have one of each gender. I was hoping that way DD will continue to be the most special girl in the world and bump could be the most special DS! But technician in my scan put the odds for a girl at 70%... So I might have two very special DD's!

Tessiebear · 25/11/2004 14:00

Afternoon All - welcome Jonah!
A due in August thread eah! I might go and have a lurk at their optimism for no m/s, tiredness etc (tee hee!)
Yesterday i had my worse day so far - DH had to go and get the boys from school as i was too busy retching (sorry for tmi )
Am 9 weeks tommorow so prehaps i will turn a corner soon. Just bought myself some travel bands - think they are working slightly - hope you are all well!
Glad your scan went well Welshie and Buballo
P/S - dont be afraid of boys you lot - they are great

Scraggyaggy · 25/11/2004 14:31

Welshie! How exciting! So pleased for you!

I am feeling ill, ill, ill today. Yesterday I had to drive to Bath and back so was on the road for just over 4 hours and then didn't have a particularly early night so I think there must be a direct correlation between all of this and my illness levels. I am REFUSING to be sick though, I am not allowing my body to do it! No way! Must have an early night tonight... maybe dinner in bed with a good book....

MrsWednesday · 25/11/2004 15:02

Oh great news Welshmum!!! Really, really pleased for you, the silence was worrying me. Phew.

So, who's next? Teabelly today, then JennyWren tomorrow? Anyone else? Sweetheart on Monday? I am still undecided about whether to have my nuchal scan - I've got a private one booked for Tuesday morning but since I had my emergency one last week I'm having second thoughts. I'm just worried it will give me something else to stress about.

Happy Thanksgiving American ladies!

Hope everyone else is having a good day. Off to catch up with some work (after a cup of tea and a double-decker).

MrsWednesday · 25/11/2004 15:03

Sorry you are still feeling so ill Tessiebear.

And yes I'd agree - boys are fab!
