Pregnancy brain - just phoned 'nursery' three times and was getting annoyed that they weren't answering the phone, then looked and saw I was dialling our home number...

Damn those supermarkets and their subconscious programming. Soon you'll have a baby you can blame for that 'how did THAT get in the trolley? ' stuff.

SantasNotSoLittleHelper · 10/12/2007 14:50

Mmmm, I had crispy duck again on Thurs - delicious DS said he wanted chinese for lunch the following day, then took one look at his plate and went "eerrgghh, what´s that?" He ate some then declared " 'snot bad this Chinese, is it Mummy?"

Denny185 · 10/12/2007 14:52

So thats what happened this am. I knew I didnt put the crisps and chocolate in it must have been DS

SantasNotSoLittleHelper · 10/12/2007 14:52

I think I will definitely have to buy apples after school today as you all keep making me think of apple crumble

eva07 · 10/12/2007 14:58

love food porn
(until now) I had
bowl of cereals
5 (veeeery thin) slices of bread with butter
3 satsumas
1 apple
crisps
10 small cookies
1 packet maltesers
1 piece of cake
5 schoko bons

still hungry though

SantasNotSoLittleHelper · 10/12/2007 15:11

Do you know, compared to some of you I don´t do badly really So far I´ve had - bowl of coco pops, 1 satsuma, 1 banana, soup, chicken & salad & pots and 1 piece of cake. It´s when I get home the pigging out starts

ToastandMincePieAddict · 10/12/2007 15:15

Who was it the other day who had NikNak's for breakfast, with brownies and cream for breakfast pudding??
She made me feel very virtuous that day

We'll need a new thread soon - will we continue the food theme?

scampmum · 10/12/2007 15:16

Eva - congrats on the scan, by the way!

That's a list of your snacks - where are the meals? [fhmmm]

scampmum · 10/12/2007 15:18

That was supposed to be Sceptical Santa, not a midwife exhaling disapprovingly over folded arms...

SantasNotSoLittleHelper · 10/12/2007 15:31

LOL scampmum. Anyway ladies, have to tidy up as am going home - yippee!! I love the end of term See you tomorrow.

northfeastmummy · 10/12/2007 15:48

Phew - just caught up ... it feels like I was only here moments ago but it's 3 pages later!

Scorpio - I hope tomorrow feels a lot better. It sounds like you're going in the right direction with DP today. If it helps, I've been feeling miserable for a few days now and don't even have a reason to be.

On names, of course I think Millie is the loveliest (my DD's name!). But interestingly we had Macey as a close second when we were choosing a name and I think Lacey might have featured as well.

Toast - I'm like you. I eat all day then don't feel like much in the evening. Today I've had:

Cereal
Two Aberdeen rolls (disgusting and full of fat and calories - g'ads but lovely at the same time)
Egg mayo sandwich
Crisps
Do'nut

I need to do some shopping so am all out of fruit which normally sits on my desk. Must sort that out tomorrow!!

scorpio1 · 10/12/2007 15:48

Whats everyone having for dinner?

i'm having fish cakes, green beans and home made potato wedges. fruit salad after.

we need a new thread soon (again!) i think it should be called the food porn thread

scorpio1 · 10/12/2007 15:49

Whats an aberdeen roll?

scampmum · 10/12/2007 15:56

Chicken stir fry... only I forgot to get the chicken out of the freezer. And champagne to celebrate DH's station being open! (although I haven't bought it yet and am a bit about him having to drink nearly a whole bottle on a Monday night...)

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 10/12/2007 16:03

LOL at Eva being 'still hungry' You remind me of the very hungry caterpiller

I think the food porn thread would be very apt for us.

Very jealous of soph/santa getting hols soon

scorpio1 · 10/12/2007 16:05

its only 9 days until we go to butlins, thats when our hols start. dp back to work 2 jan, me uni 7 jan.

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 10/12/2007 16:10

I'm working all over Xmas. Get xmas and boxing day off but then am back in, and what's even worse, am duty social worker so means all the horrid post-xmas drunkenness and family feuding comes my way. Ho hum.

scorpio1 · 10/12/2007 16:11

lots of symapthy for you ellie. i am training to do your job, you don't make it sound very fun!

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 10/12/2007 16:15

That's because it isn't mostly.
But on the other hand it has it's moments of incredible life-affirming rewardingness (not a word I know!) and a good day is really GOOD and that makes up for the crap.

What are you wanting to specialise in? Children/adults?

scorpio1 · 10/12/2007 16:16

Children. 'tis already hard work!

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 10/12/2007 16:24

Yep - but is interesting. If you ever need any resources or anything let me know? I finished my training just 2 years ago so am fairly well up on what required for DipSW/degree course. If you want a second pair of eyes for essay or anything ever just give me a shout.

Someone start a new thread soon please!!!! Getting full!!!!

scorpio1 · 10/12/2007 16:25

thanks ellie, i might just do that, i have an independant study module to do soon. they let me do it from home to save travel with Milliebump

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 10/12/2007 16:27

No worries - let me know if and when and I will give you my email addres

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 10/12/2007 16:29
