Have DS, 13 months. Stopped bf in Oct and immediately got pg but was chemical preg which I lost at 5 weeks. Now got BFP today, very excited. Quite faint line but definitely a line.

Anyone want to join?

crying is such a hazard of being pregnant! One of my friends is pregnant too - die in July but hasn't told anyone yet as she runs the local dance school and doesn't want 100s of parents asking what is happening with it. Anyway her husband was out with mine and several others over Christmas and announced her pregnancy by telling all the men that she had cried on Christmas day whilst putting the turkey in the oven. He didn't tell her he'd blabbed so on New Years Eve she saw one of the wives/mothers who congratulated her and she had no idea what for and was livid and again tearful when she realised what had happened! I keep crying at weird things on the TV, anything sets me off!
You have every right to cry if you want and hey if you want to laugh, with three small ones at home already I can provide many of them! For example DD announced today on way to school that baby had to be a girl I asked why and thought the answer would be because she had two brothers already and would like a sister but no it was because she hadn't got any boys names but had several girls ones picked out!!! Think she wishes it was her baby really - she's only 4! When I was having DS2 she was also 'pregnant' and as she had no bump she decided she was pregnant in her back - I love kids logic!

Buckets · 09/01/2008 12:44

Oh SKF, you're still a mummy and always will be. Good luck to you and DP in the future - be kind to each other.

I haven't cried about anything daft yet, only feeling sorry for myself with my Christmas vomitfest which I think was quite justified. I seem to remember having a weekly emotional crash and crying fit in my other pregnancies, maybe not until the next trimester though.

GG - my niece (nrly 3 at the time) insisted my DD was asleep in a little cot in my tummy.

FoghornLeghorn · 09/01/2008 13:19

Have just got my scan dat through - 31st Jan - will be 14 weeks nearly, am v. excited

MollieMooma · 09/01/2008 13:53

Loving the stories of all your little ones, please keep them coming, they are making me smile lots

MollieMooma · 09/01/2008 14:00

Also meant to say Foghorn - how exciting for you! I hope all you ladies with scans soon will be posting pics!?

JoanWilder · 09/01/2008 14:04

mine is 25 jan, will be 13 weeks hospital cocked up my dates

hg calming down so have been eating all those mini meals some of you guys have been talking about - will get pop tarts next time Im in a shop, Ive been using nutri grain bars between toast, have only been sick once each morning for the last three days so feeling up-beat and hopeful.
Had booking appt on mon, lovely MW who reminded me all the symptoms to look out for (itching/headaches that are odd etc etc) reminds me why I turned into such a worrier with dd.....

love to all you pukers, dont worry the second trimester is nearly here, It wont be for long keep your chin up (except if you are vomiting then chin down is easier)

ChaCha · 09/01/2008 14:09

I posted earlier but think it got lost.

I wanted to say i'm sorry to SFK

and to ask how Shazza is doing, meant to post msg yesterday but am a sieve brain at best of times and totally forgot. How are you and how is your family coping? Mum any better?

So far have kept down toast, tomato soup, wholemal salad sandwich, ready salted crisps, hummus and olives w/breadsticks (was helping DC) and some ginger ale. Not bad eh? LOL. No doubt m/s on way...

On later tonight to update scan news x

gigglegirl · 09/01/2008 14:46

chacha - i am so jealous about what you've eaten - just done an online shop (meant to be working!) can't face the supermarket and will be with me at 8am tomorrow - spent a fortune but may as well flush the cash down the loo!! managed a slice of beans on toast at 1:30 but feeling decidedly queezy again now!

PetitFilou1 · 09/01/2008 15:05

gigglegirl don't flush the cash down the loo, I'll have it - you can just bypass the supermarket altogether then

Buckets · 09/01/2008 15:49

Joanwilder, glad you seem to be turning a corner.
Must put more hoummous on my shopping list.

hopefully · 09/01/2008 15:50

Can I just hijack for a moment? Sorry to inttrude on all. Congrats to everyone, and my heart goes out to those of you who have suffered losses.

CaptainCaveman, and anyone else who's been for a dating scan, can you tell me a bit more about it? I'm only 5-6 weeks, but thought I might go for a private dating scan when I'm around 8 weeks. I work in london and live on the south coast, so if anyone has a good experience with a scanning place in either of those, can you poss give me a bit more info - price, booking time etc?

Thanks and sorry again for the hijack! I'll get back to my September thread where I belong now...

TwilightSurfer · 09/01/2008 15:54

SKF so very sorry. {{{Hugs}}} I was pregnant very quickly after my loss so don't loose hope.

MS is horrible today. Took DD to preschool and sat in car for the longest. Currently I'm in a little cafe trying to eat broccoli-n-cheddar soup. Seems to be calming my tummy.....hopefully.

Petitfilou are you the one that had a scan and already know the sex of your baby?? I'm dealing with brain clouds at the moment. If you are how far along were you at the time of the scan?

CAPTAINCAVEMAN how's the scan!!!?

gigglegirl · 09/01/2008 16:22

can you find out the sex this early???? I thought it was only at 20 weeks you can find out - haven't found out with my other three but think I am going to this time! My scan isn't til 5th Feb when I'll be 13 weeks i think. Mind you if one more person says you're so ill it must be twins as you've never been like this before I may go and buy an ultrasound machine and do it myself!

PetitFilou1 · 09/01/2008 16:30

Twilight no not me - I'm only coming up for 7 weeks... god it goes slowly!

Buckets · 09/01/2008 16:44

I think you can get the gender from the chorionic villi test (for Downs?) earlier. I thought the legs were still stuck together at 12wks so bits would not be visible!

FoghornLeghorn · 09/01/2008 16:55

In the leaflet I got with my scan appointment today it says that the sex is sometimes noticable from 16 weeks onwards and if we like we can find out at the 20 weeks scan. I didn't find out with either DD's and didn't want to but something this time was making me want to know but now I've talked myself out of it. Think we will wait for the surprise

gigglegirl · 09/01/2008 17:04

right off for a bit now to go home and cook tea for my little darlings - working with family drives me nuts just found out my Dad hasn't done something that he should have aaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhhhh the stress and DH is staying to work late on something which I understand with my work head ut with my pregnant wife head I want him to come home - will be back later no doubt (unless i'm lying on the toilet floor!)

Buckets · 09/01/2008 17:15

Does anyone else's mouth feel/taste like a rubbish bin?
I really hate not being in control of my appetite, hate only feeling better when I'm eating and hate this awful garbagey feel in between meals. Keep having to remind people I'm not eating this much for fun.
God I'd forgotten how much I hate pregnancy! Soon will come the midnight riverdancing foetus, the achey hips and the dizzy spells... but first of all the not being able to lie on the front.
Sorry, rant over, rather be pg than not etc.

FoghornLeghorn · 09/01/2008 17:18

I can't lie on my front already I have put on no weight whatsoever but my stomach seems very bloated, I can manage about 5 mins on my front but then it hurts. I always sleep on my front too so takes me ages to get to sleep when I can't lie on it

CaptainCaveman · 09/01/2008 17:21

Hey ladies, we're running out of room on this thread - we need to start another one so I'll go and do that now!! Then you can catch up on my scan news....
