Have DS, 13 months. Stopped bf in Oct and immediately got pg but was chemical preg which I lost at 5 weeks. Now got BFP today, very excited. Quite faint line but definitely a line.

Anyone want to join?

Ta!Da! I'm back from the doctor. Just posted the new picture of Baby Twilight. It measured perfectly for 8W+2D which puts my mind at ease...even though I'm hurting a little bit as a result of the pelvic exam. I agreed to the 1st trimester "Advanced Maternal Age" screening which happens at 12 weeks. For that I get to go to a perinatologist for yet another ultrasound and more bloodwork. A few days after that I'll have my regular 12 weeks visit with my private doc to discuss any findings. So guess I'll be twiddling my fingers until 04FEB.

TwilightSurfer · 07/01/2008 19:55

Captain I saw a note in my OB/GYN's office for special 3-D/4-D ultrasound at 24 or so weeks. Is that like what you're getting? The 3-D scans show amazing detail but cost $225...not covered by any insurance plan.

MollieMooma · 07/01/2008 20:14

Twilight - your pictures are amazing, I love the belly and your latest scan is fab, can't believe how much detail we can see for an early one!
Bea001- poor you, hope the MS eases soon.

CaptainCaveman · 07/01/2008 20:29

TS, no it's just a normal ultrasound but I'm too impatient to wait another 4 weeks or so for my NHS scan!
here is where I'm having it done.

Love you piccy!! it's a mini person!!!

juliewoolie · 07/01/2008 21:17

Hi all,

sorry to hear there is so much morning sickness out there. I too have been suffering - really vile not much fun when you are trying to look after a 7mth old!

Hope everyone is doing a bit better and all the scans go ok.

gigglegirl · 07/01/2008 21:40

hello all,

Happy New Year,

Sorry I haven't posted for ages, in summary: terrible sickness, all day - still ongoing, hospital with suspected ectopic, dehydration and ridiculously low BP. Baby in right place but no conformation of number or heartbeat. A madly busy Christmas a few days after discharge cooking for 10 inc ungrateful MIL. Then husbands birthday, then DS1 got Chicken Pox for the second time so New Year cancelled, then husband got ill and spent three days in bed leaving me with three kids, then DS1 also gets mumps (despite MMR!) so it's all been a bit crazy. I'm still feeling shocking and being sick regularly and can't keep enough fluid down to stop me feeling awful - all I get from my GP practice is that if it gets bad I'll have to go back on drip so am forcing down homemade rehydration drinks in litres and trying to keep it down as long as possible, my stomach is getting huge though! Very odd. Booking appointment on 15th and scan on 5th feb, hope the sickness if over by then. Went back to work today - we run our own business so can't afford anymore time off so I am totally shattered now and wondering how I will make it to August! Hope all of you are well

xxxx

mummypud · 08/01/2008 06:53

giggle girl , what an awful time for you! hope all is well .xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx after some bleeding after xmas i went to epu for a scan yesterday and all is well , measuring perfect for 9 weeks and a good visab;e heart beat . i wont relax until at least july .xxxxxxxx they dont do pics at the epu sadly

hardygirl · 08/01/2008 09:05

Sorry you feel rubbish Giggles! Hope things get better very soon.

Buckets · 08/01/2008 09:34

Hi GG, what's in you homemade rehydration drinks? I'm intrigued.

Buckets · 08/01/2008 09:38

BTW, I'm starting to work out an eating plan to 'organise' my nausea iyswim. Breakfast about 7.30 then a second breakfast by 10am. Lunch at 12 then afternoon mini-meal before collecting DD from school. Tea with kids at 5pm then pudding a couple of hours later and big glass of sugary drink to take to bed at 9pm.
Time for brekky#2 now, feeling sick already.

PennyBenjamin · 08/01/2008 10:43

Buckets - I know exactly what you mean about trying to organise the MS! The only things that help my nausea are eating and moving around, but sadly the only things I want to do are lie still and not eat anything!

At the moment I have to eat some crackers before I can even get into the shower in the morning, then toast and marmite when I get to work, a mid morning fruit snack, lunch, afternoon fruit snack, more crackers to survive the tube journey, supper and then pudding before I get into bed.

No wonder I'm putting on weight!

Buckets · 08/01/2008 11:05

Would recommend buying made-up salad pots if you can afford it. I had a big one yesterday (supposed to be for lunch but had it at 10am) and it was really quite filling. I'm definitely going for more pre-packed food at the moment as thinking about cooking makes me ill - I can eat, I just can't face the choosing, prepping and cooking.

Shazza2002 · 08/01/2008 11:23

Hi All.

Sorry some of you have been having a bad time. Why is it all these other problems seem to come up when we could all do without them.

I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself too. My mum was taken into hospital on Thursday night, really ill lots of panic. My dad and sister are about as useful as chocolate teapots. So I've been doing the running around and trying to keep the house ticking over for my mums sake as I know if she worries about things that will make her worse. Have hardly seen DP and DD all weekend but luckily DP is very supportive and knows how close my mum and I are so just let's me do what I need to do (apart from nagging me that I'm doing so much and why isn't anybody else helping)

But on the plus side, it's taken my mind off things like nausea and the tiredness. Because I have been on the go all day I haven't had time to be tired if that makes sense. Hoping to get mum home today so that will make things easier.

Sorry for the moan all about me me me, but my family seem to have forgotten I'm PG and don't need the extra stress.

Oh yes, last week I was starting to think I was showing a bit, currently 9+5, but now being in the hospital with all the ill people and smells it's taken my appetite away. So now I've stopped the munching that I had been doing over christmas my belly isn't so big. Still bigger than normal but not as bad as it was

PennyBenjamin · 08/01/2008 12:14

Oh Shazza - really sorry to hear you're having such a hard time, and best wishes to your Mum. It never rains but it pours, eh?

Don't know how you're coping - I seem to be having a hard enough time coping with life as normal at the moment, let alone crises!

Got my parents arriving tonight to stay for a few days. We haven't told them yet, and thinking about doing it while they are here. In one way I'd love to tell them, and it would give me someone to talk to about this, but on the other hand I kind of like it being our secret, and once you tell people you sort of lose control of it a bit, and it becomes public property. Hmmmmm.

Buckets · 08/01/2008 12:31

PB I bet she guesses!

TwilightSurfer · 08/01/2008 12:49

Today I am R A F! Seems the busy day yesterday did me in. I slept from 3PM until just a few minutes ago 7AM. Woke to eat and pee (and gripe at DH about nightly chores). Now I've a crick in my neck and only feel 50% refreshed. ARGHHHH!

Premade/Preboxed meals are becoming the standard for me as well. Found a macaroni&cheese with brocolli freezer dish that is incredible. DD only likes the mac-n-cheese so I steal her brocolli. I've also taken to eating lots of Pop Tarts for my mini meals. Eating every few hours is a lot of work.

Sorry to all those dealing with more than their pregnancy right now. It's hard but sounds like you are all troopers.

PennyBenjamin · 08/01/2008 12:58

You're probably right - I am not known for my alcohol abstinence, so once I turn down that first glass of wine she'll clock me!

SKF · 08/01/2008 13:40

Dear all

Feeling very concerned this morning as discovered I was bleeding. Bright red, with some fragments of tissue (spols if TMI). Not really heavy but more than spotting. Also had very faint cramping feelings. I am 11+1.

Decided not to panic and come to work (I have a stress free desk job right now) and monitor the situation over the morning before deciding whether to call GP. It has now stopped to a tiny brown trickle. Still feel worried, although I have read lots of MN threads of this subject and I know it is not necessarily ?the beginning of the end?. What worries me more is that my symptoms are less pronounced now. Boobs no longer sore, nausea really faded, not as tired as I was. I thought I was either lucky or maybe it was the approach to the second trimester but now I am not so sure.

I have my scan booked for Friday so I am wondering whether to see what happens over next couple of days. If I ring GP I suspect he?ll tell me to do this anyway?.

Any thoughts anyone?

juliewoolie · 08/01/2008 13:53

Oh SKF I would call your GP and just ask for advice or does your local maternity unit have an EPU sometime you can speak to a midwife. I do remember from my last pregnancy that at around 11 weeks the nausea and sore boobs etc did stop. Hope all is ok.

TS lucky you i wish I could sleep like that I have insomnia which is a pain when all you want to do is sleep

Sorry for everyone else suffering with preggo problems and other stresses.

TwilightSurfer · 08/01/2008 15:04

SKF so very sorry for your scary situation. Knowing first hand about bleeding (and unfortunately) miscarriages, I would do exactly as you are doing at the present moment. This sounds lax but if it is "the beginning of the end" there's nothing any medical professional can do except offer you comfort. If it's anything else, having monitored it for a little bit gives you and the professionals more to make an assessment with on Friday. Passing large clots, excessive cramping and severe pain are the "bad" symptoms to watch for. Questions to ponder: have you had intercourse recently, done any heavy lifting, or taken any medicines that might not be approved? You are doing nicely so far by staying calm and collected. Good job!

gigglegirl · 08/01/2008 16:00

keep smiling girls what doesn't kill us makes us stronger - I have been worrying about how me feeling so awful was affecting my kids - answer - not much - don't know whather to be relieved or a bit put out that they haven't noticed!! Was being sick earlier, practically lying on the floor whilst my DD (aged 4) was debating (with me although my opinion was fairly irrelevant!) whether she should wear her hair in bunches or a plait to school my DS1 (aged 2) was pleading with me to read a story "not -puke- right -puke- now - puke - I'm a little - puke - busy! - his reply... pppplllleeeeaaaassssseeee! and my DS2 (aged 1)next to me on the floor pointing at his favourite toy (a shrek DVD case - before you ask - I don't know why!) and shouting Shrek really loudly whilst giggling with laughter! The other day I lay down on the living room floor and let them mountaneer all over me - they thought it was great!

Buckets - will have to ask DH for actual recipe for rehydration drink as he found it on teh web but it has OJ, water, sugar, salt and baking powder - wouldn't order ot at a bar (ooo a bar wahat are they, something from a past life!!) but it tastes ok enough to drink.

SKF - it's hard not to panic but try not to and get yourself seen, having had three kids already I know taht is easier said than done but if your worried make a noise about it until someone makes sure you're happy - even if it means a trip t A&E.

Right off to cook tea for the kids if I can bear it!

TwilightSurfer · 08/01/2008 16:06

giggle i've been spending a lot of time on the floor myself. life's just a little easier from that level. dd (3.11) just brings me what she needs or shows me things she shouldn't have but does.

must seek out more food as i'm feeling sick again.

MollieMooma · 08/01/2008 16:09

SFK - sending you hugs and sticky thoughts. Like others have said I would ring your EPU and see if they can get you in for a scan although if they are anything like mine they will have a huge waiting list so probably best waiting until Friday. Will keep everything crossed for you, can't tell you not to worry cos it's impossible

Buddhababe · 08/01/2008 17:03

Hello everyone, I haven't been online in yonks!

SKF - how are you getting on? I hope you are feeling ok and that there is no bad news. Sending my best wishes.

I had a quick scan through all the pages and found it really interesting what you have been saying about the NHS. I moved over here from Ireland so the system is slightly different. I went privately at home and was going to do so again this time but heard that the NHS was very efficient. My friends here have had good experiences. I guess there are always going to be good and bad stories as is the case in Ireland!

I see many of you are suffering with Morning Sickness and TwilightSurfer, yes I am also up in the early hours of the morning either needing to go to the loo or to nibble on something for the MS. Nightmare.

Quick question, if you want to go for a private scan, where can you go. I am in south london?
