I do feel calmer to be honest. I think just getting through yesterday and last night has shown me that although this is my 3rd time, I still have no idea about labour and it will happen when it happens - c'est la vie as they say.

I just cant see the point in getting wound up now, it was using too much energy and ill need all that for the real thing!!!

RGPargy · 27/11/2007 19:35

Jarm - bouncing on DH is a fictional remedy, remember? £19 for a cut and blow dry is well cheap!! Makes me feel really guilty for thinking about spending £50 on a haircut!

Loopy - Shush!!!! On hindsight, i should have KNOWN that this would happen, but i was so convinced LO would be early that i was very proud of the fact that i'd got the pool up. Bearing in mind it took us all of about 5 minutes to inflate it in the first place lol!

Well at least I know something is happening and the last few nights of hell have been worth it!!!

Still not going to get my hopes too high, but am off to do a poll thread on how long between a show and labour - with DD2 it was 6 hours!

littleoldme · 27/11/2007 20:12

RG - What a bad cat LOL at the idea of your midiwfe kneeling in cat wee.

Fiona - Thanks for sharing your story.

JARM - Sounds like thinks are on their way. Sending you lots of love lady XXXXXX

Greater love hath no wife for her hubby than she give up Holby City for the first half of the football. I'm bloody well having the telly back for Gordon though.

congrats jossie and hello to baby boy.

jarm - i had one show a week and before and then one on the day before. my labour sounds a bit like yrs if you lot remember loads of slow build up etc. but i did go from a show on tues about 5pm to being in labour wed 5am.

apologies for lack of capitals but am feeding snuggly megan at the mo.

and she breastfed for the 1st time ever today. i am thrilled - could there be an end in sight to my expressing?

JARM · 27/11/2007 21:27

awwww well done megan!!!! And well done you Silk for perservering!

Dont tell me i could have another week.... i might cry!!!

Am getting a few twinges, but nothing like what I was feeling last night, although have had more of a show and rather a lot of dig dis tonight, so fingers crossed.

DH is sitting sorting out all my paperwork to put in the filing cabinet - i was going to do it but thought a night in front of the laptop was much better use of my time!!

Wont be long now RGP - bet that you still manage to beat me!!!

silkcushion · 27/11/2007 21:40

Have 2 hands again now. Just put Megan in her moses basket to see if she'll settle herself to sleep (either that or she'll scream the house down)

Jarm - I don't think you sound like you've got another week to go. My mw said all the feeling crappy and in pain and twinges and stuff for days before was the latent phase of labour. All doing good things sorting out yr cervix and getting you ready. I bet you'll suddenly have things kick off and it'll be really quick in the end. Come over and sniff Megan - it's meant to help start it all off.

RGPargy · 27/11/2007 21:41

Silk - Yay re Megan!!! You're doing great, keep it up!

Jarm - nah, i dont reckon i'll beat you now! i still think my LO will be a december baby, like her daddy! Hmmmm Laptop versus filing cabinet. No contest really!!

jetgirl · 27/11/2007 23:33

Thanks for the link RG.

I put my birth story on the post natal thread and have added a few pics to my profile too.

JARM - I had 2 days of really painful BHs then nothing for 2 days then suddenly went into labour, so you can't be far off now. It's so frustrating though, isn't it?

Sending labour vibes to all you ladies-in-waiting xx

JARM · 28/11/2007 01:28

grrrrrrrrrrrrr

im wide awake, cant get comfy enough to sleep and DH is snoring.

No pains or anything really, just uncomfortable. Refused sex tonight on the basis that DD1 is poorly and I cant be bothered to lift her from bed, into the car, and into bed at my dads place.... maybe thats where ive gone wrong?! If im still awake at 2am I might go and wake DH!

Am sat here bouncing on my ball, still losing a lot of my show and its pink/brown tinged.... not sure if thats ok or not, but no one around to ask!

Hoping for a daytime delivery anyway - ive had 2 night births so a day time one would be lovely! (and i know my dad would appreciate a day off work!)

Righty ho then, will report back with any news, or lack of!!! xxx

RGPargy · 28/11/2007 07:09

Morning everyone!

I woke up at around 5.15 this morning with a slight period-type tummy ache and a slight back ache too. Haven't been able to get back to sleep since so i've decided to get up and have a shower and get ready for the day lol. Not sure if anything will come of my tummy ache or not but have sent DP off to work. He's in London today so i'm only hoping he doesn't get stuck in bloody traffic if i have to call him back in!

Jarm - Hope things are happening for you luv!! Just a quick question - why does DD1 have to be at your dads for you to have sex?! Good luck bouncing and let us know of your progress!

Jet - hope you are doing ok. I'm so of you!

OP posts:
JARM · 28/11/2007 07:42

That didnt come out right did it - she doesnt need to be at dads for me to have sex, it was because she is ill and I wanted her to get a good nights sleep, and if i had sex, it could have started things off!

As it is, im still here! Just trying to think of what I can do today to get things moving - REALLY dont want to make the midwife appointment at 3.15pm!

Managed to get to sleep at about 2.30am and slept til 7.20am so not a bad chunk, but still very uncomfortable.

RGP - told ya you would still beat me, come on babies!!!

littleoldme · 28/11/2007 07:42

Big congrats Jossie.

Jarm - Very excited for you - won't be long now.

Silk - Glad to hear Megan is feeding so well.

Rg - You are up and about early. Back to bed woman.

My DD today. My carefully planned activities for the week have fallen in disarray so it's a quiet day of domesticity for me.

Think I'll go and have another snooze.

RGPargy · 28/11/2007 08:08

Jarm - ahhh i see!! Sorry nothing has happened tho!! At least you got some more sleep.

LOM - Nah i'm wide awake and couldn't sleep even if i tried. Maybe the sofa will beckon later on lol.

Your DD today? Your DD WHAT today?? lol!

I'm going to take one of my cats to the vets today if i can get an appointment. She's been quite snuffly for a couple of months now, but not in a "got a cold" way, more like she needs a good cough or to clear her throat, IYSWIM. She's not bothered about it or off her food or anything but i think it's about time i took her along.

Nbg · 28/11/2007 09:04

JARM
I hope its going to happen for you soon
lucky witch lady.

RG, get some of that music on that you love and give baby a good jiggle, lol.

Well due date for me today and no doubt I'll be watching it come and go.
Not had a show, getting a few tightnings but nothing major.

StrangeTown · 28/11/2007 09:23

Jossie - congratulations - so pleased for you.

JARM and RG - hope you get some more action today.
Nothing else happened for me yesterday. Had to go and be monitored, but head is still not engaged?? What's that all about???
According to my growth chart baby is now 10lbs. How is that possible. I really do not believe it for a minute. Am going back tomorrow, but don't know if they will be able to do anything if the head hasn't moved?

Am getting very fed up now.

littleoldme · 28/11/2007 09:44

Rg - My donout day of course. What else could I possible have meant.

Maybe your cat is allergic to birthing pools.

Nbg . Like wise. It's my due date today too. No sign of LO but I do have a nearly full tub of Ben and Jerry's cookie dough to munch my way through, so it aint all bad.

ST - Sorry you are so fed up. Remember that the head doesn't always engage before labour - this happened to a friend of mine with her 1st.

StrangeTown · 28/11/2007 09:58

Thanks littleoldme - they seemed a bit confused at hospital yesterday - hoping it slips in at some point soon!
