Jarm, I just emailed you to see if you got my previous email... but I can see you are a little busy! All the best xxx

choudru · 26/11/2007 17:19

Hi everyone - thought I'd pop into the antenatal thread to see what you lot are up to. I have to say - there are an awful lot of you still hanging on to your LOs so I'm here to kick some @rse.

EVERYONE - get eating curries/having sex/going on long walks/using clary sage/whatever NOW and GET YOURSELVES OVER TO THE POSTNATAL THREAD!

I never thought I'd say this, but in a way I'm quite of you all. You still have this wonderful exciting experience ahead of you! My memories of my labour with Sara are so happy - even the bits when I was in pain (remember I had an epidural when it got too much). It was the best experience of my life and you all have that to come

Sorry I haven't caught up with all your personal ups and downs - I've missed a weeks worth of posts which is going to take me a while to catch up on...

Nbg · 26/11/2007 19:01

Found you all

JARM, you sound exactly like me at the minute. Nothing happening but in pain. My bump hurts, keep getting sharp pains in my lower stomach and I cant sleep!
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Anyway, deep breaths lol.

sam, I've had a TENS for both births. Well actually to be precise just dd. The TENS actually clapped out and died the day I went into labour with ds so I didnt have anything.
I think they are good for early stages especially to deal with the achey period type back pains but as labour develops, well I found that your not really aware of it.

Tbh if Boots are selling them cheap and you were going to hire one, get it then you can sell it on ebay after and make your money back!

My MW rang today and said she'll pop and see me on Thursday and do my check up. I'll be officially 1 day overdue then.
She said she was at a Virgin Vie party out in the sticks on weds and she threatened t take me with her cos its a really bumpy ride out there

Well I'm off to watch crappy emmerdale and then emulsion the celing in the home birth bedroom

sunnysam · 26/11/2007 19:02

hi havent posted for absolutely ages but i have been reading all yours i was due on 23rd nov with baby boy number 6 i have had three sretch and sweeps but nothing mw said cervix was thin and very stretchy she could stretch it to 4-5cm that was on wed but he is obviously determined to stay put have accepted that probably gonna go til december all my other 5 were late .
there are a few of us due 23rd wonder who will deliver first?

JARM · 26/11/2007 19:07

oooh you sure know how to live it up hey NBG - painting indeed!

Im soooooo fed up with this constant pain in my lower bump and back. Ive just had a bath, dried and straightened my hair, all in preperation for things happening tonight - dont want to look TOO rough in the photos! {insert manic laugh that ANYTHING will happen tonight}

Dad is on his way over in a minute to drop off a filing cabinet from freecycle, since we moved all our important paperwork is in an under bed storage box and in no order whatsoever! So guess that will be my task for tonight! Was supposed to get some beige carpets too, but the woman (who was adament they had to be collected tonight) offered them to me and hasnt got back to me with her address!!! GRRRRR

Bought myself some "due date" flowers today.... thought i needed cheering up! They look lovely on top of the TV unit, all red and white and slightly christmassy!!!! Im so not ready for christmas though - 4 weeks tomorrow can you believe!

loopy - ds1 was 7 days late, ds2 was 8 days late, ds3+4 were 6 days late and ds5 was 2 days late, so as they had kind of got earlier i really thought this one would have been here by now and it isn't from lack of trying! Now i have just given up and accept that they come when they are ready.

sam86 · 26/11/2007 19:34

sunnysam- am puttin my money on me being the last 23rd nov to deliver! dont think i could manage all those boys!! if this one does need pink then she will be the most protected girl ever with all those big brothers! (no boy will be brave enough to come near!- my dp would be made up!)

no doubt it is almost christmas here- house over the round has a giant inflatable santa in the front garden! havent put my tree up yet as didnt want to upset RG tho im feeling v tempted!!

Nbg- think i will just buy the tens whilst its so cheap (tho i didnt get it today - obv doesnt matter as still no signs whatsoever! i just want it to keep me at home as long as poss really, then will prob chuck it at DPs head once it stops having an effect! painting is much more exciting than what il be gettin upto it seems- dp still out working so am v bored, plus am craving a cheeseburger! (cant say the same about emmerdale tho!) least youll have a nice ceiling to look at while your giving birth!!

x

JARM · 26/11/2007 20:03

6 boys!!!! OMG!!!! You are one brave lady!

littleoldme · 26/11/2007 20:09

Choudru - Good to have you back on line. Sorry we've all been such lazy bones Oh BTW the ladies at the cake shop send you their best. I've only been in urmmm 3 times since we last met Glad your day went ok.

Suunysam - Five boys must keep you on your toes. I'm v of your Christmas organisisation.

NBG and Jarm - lets hope it isn't too long for you two. Sending labour vibes.

I'm feeling reasonably mellow about the whole thing. I've organised dinner out with friends on Thurs which is the day after I'm due. Thought it might take my mind off. Went out for curry last night and promised the waiter that if it induced Labour I'd call the baby Lamb Bhuna. It only caused Dig Dis so LO is let off a life time of bullying.

Once again I have everybody's favourite fungal infection despite a whole tube of cream and lots of tea tree baths. Was quite suprised that the doc prescribed a pessary but at least it should shift it. well, till next time at least.

Off the change the bedding and watch nigella.

Come on girls, more babies by morning please.

RGPargy · 26/11/2007 20:25

Evening girls!

Jarm - sorry that you're still in pain chick. Let's hope something kicks off soon, eh? Good idea re the due date flowers. I was wondering what to do in celebration (?) of my due date tomorrow.

LOM - glad you approve the thread title. It was all i could think of!! Good idea re the dinner. Think i might book another haircut for tomorrow or wednesday which i will hopefully have to cancel!

Sam - glad you're on the donuts to. Our mission is complete! mowahahahahaaaaa!

Choudru - Hellooooooooooooooo!!!! Long time no hear! Glad you are doing ok! Lots more stern speaking please. I need this baby out now!

Sunnysam - Wowsers! 6 boys!! How wonderful! Hope things happen for you soon!

Loopy - I agree - Xmas is SURELY four months away yet!!!

Well, i've been having Brixton Hacks all bloody day but still nothing is happening. I'm sure it's just my body getting ready rather than it being "time". Unless anyone knows any different of course.....

OP posts:
choudru · 27/11/2007 00:31

LOM - LOL at your frequent frequenting of the cake shop I hope you sometimes leave some cake for the other customers I got thrush in the week before I was due and they gave me a pessary too. It did work a lot better than the creams though.

RG - Helloooooooo back Hope your BH develop into something over the next day or two.

The best thing I can recommend to induce labour is to arrange to meet LOM for cake. It worked for me.

Sunnysam - I'm sure your family must be local celebrities with such a brood!

Loopy - Deciding on a VBAC was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Thanks for all the advice and encouragement by the way - sometimes a simple word of encouragement can make more difference than you realise.

Off to congratulate jetgirl and then time to feed Sara...

JARM · 27/11/2007 08:50

Morning all

What is my body up to?! Pains from 11.45pm - 1.30am every 5 mins, but quite short and not toooooo painful

managed to fall asleep until 5am and it was every 10 minutes for an hour.

and back to sleep again til about 10 mins ago!

I dont know what on earth is happening, honestly got my hopes a little too high last night!

Ah well, DD1 at docs at 10.30 so might go for a walk after that. No other plans that I can think of.

HAPPY DUE DATE RGPARGY!!!!

RGPargy · 27/11/2007 09:09

Morning everyone!!

HAPPY DUE DATE TO ME!!!

Jarm - Thanx for the HDD wishes! Sorry that yet again nothing has happened following your pains etc. What a complete PITA!!

I kept waking up last night and couldn't get comfy again. I also had the most BIZARRE dream involving two massive spiders and a bit of paper with "JARM" written on it! hahahaha!!! I think i'm spending far too much time on my cyber-life, rather than my real-life life!

DP and I went to Toys R Us again last night and bought the finishing touches to the cot. So now we have the quilt, sheet, blanket, bumper etc. I also bought a little bouncing cradle chair thing which is lovely, but when we unpacked it, the material is slightly torn in two places and there's a dirty mark across the back of it too!! Not very happy about that to say the least! So i'll go up there today and take it back i think. At first i though "ah sod it, the tear is tiny" but then i thought NO!!! Why should i pay for damaged goods?!! Plus getting myself ready to go out will take my mind off being due today.

What's everyone else up to today?

StrangeTown · 27/11/2007 09:25

Hello All,

Really stupid, but not sure if my waters have broken. Had back ache when I got up and then a kind of gushing not like a wee (sorry TMI) but not loads of fluid. Had breakfast and then upset tummy. Nothing else happening though, so not sure what is going on?

Argh.

Nbg · 27/11/2007 09:29

Your going to want to hit me hard JARM but I am slightly giggling to myself about your on/off pains

I was exactly like this with ds last year. Had pains on and off for days but when the MW came out to do my sweep she said they all had been useful as I was very favourable for a sweep and very ready down there

I'm sure things will start for you on their own.
Were the girls late?
DD was 4 days over and ds was 10 days.
Dh did average last night and reckoned I would be a week late lol.

I think I've just resigned myself to the fact that he'll come when he comes!
At least its giving me the time to finish the bedroom off!

Think I'm just going to tidy today. Nothing exciting.

RGPargy · 27/11/2007 09:30

Ooooooo ST!!!! How exciting!!! If it's not like wee then it MUST be your waters that have broken!!

Sounds like it's kicking off for you!!

Phone the MW and see what she says. Good luck!!!

Am very btw!!

OP posts:
Nbg · 27/11/2007 09:30

Oooh ST!

Bizarre question, did you smell it?
Waters can smell kind of sweet.

RGPargy · 27/11/2007 09:33

Nbg - am going to occupy myself with tidying today too. Oh what a glamerous life we lead!

OP posts:
Nbg · 27/11/2007 09:35

StrangeTown · 27/11/2007 09:37
