NBG and LOM - HAPPY DUE DATES!!!!

It's frustrating when nothing happens, isn't it!

LOM - Sorry, it was early and i was thinking DD=Dear Daughter lol. D'oh!! I much prefer the Donut Day idea tho. Might have to take a trip to Asda to get some now!

ST - Sorry nothing's happening for you either. What IS it with these babies?! They seem really lazy and not wanting to come out! Perhaps they all want to be December babies!

Well, i've had a doze on the sofa and now (so far) i have no more tummy ache. Boooooooo!!!

Right, better phone the vet before all their appointments go.

I feel really rough. Sick and shaky and just not right, but yet no contractions really!

Maybe this baby will just slide out when i go for a wee! (wishful thinking!)

We are going to stay at my dads tonight, he is so close to hospital it makes sense to put the girls to bed there in case things do start up - plus it means we havent got to cook tonight lol

We have been tidying like crazy this morning, getting all the little odd jobs done that have been bugging me - the cooker, the paperwork etc etc

All bedrooms are tidy, everywhere hoovered and swept, DH has just taken the girls to morrisons to stock up on choccy brownie bites and salt and vinegar crisps - ate my last 3 bags last night thinking i wouldnt want them today because i would have my baby - hahahahaha how wrong was i!

These babies really are intent on making us suffer though.... roll on getting them all out and us all being on postnatal together trying to communicate through lack of sleep!!!

RGPargy · 28/11/2007 11:38

Jarm - maybe if you take a nap the baby will pop out into his moses basket for when you wake up? That's what i've told this one to do anyway! She's under strict instructions!

Good idea to go to your dads, JIC things really kick off. Sorry you're not feeling very well tho. Not very nice when you think you have to go through labour feeling rough!

Think i'll take a waddle round Asda. No tummy pains or anything here but it's really REALLY uncomfortable to walk at the mo. I might drag DS with me too, although if i do that i run the risk of him seeing what goodies i'm buying and he'll want some of them! Plus he'll ask me to buy him this that and the other no doubt lol.

Still haven't phoned the vets yet. The thought of catching a cat in a basket is just exhausting in itself. I really should call them tho. I feel like a really cruel pet owner, even tho she's not suffering.

Well my due day has come and gone (27/11)and I am fed up! LO is still not engaged at all either.

The weather is bloody hot - 29c tomorrow! Was 37c last week which transformed me into a sweaty bitch!!

My MIL is arriving from the UK on Friday night for 10 days and I am sooooooooo not looking forward to having a house guest!!

GRRRR!!

I have decided on alterntive methods of getting everything going tho'....

  1. Chipped toenail polish. 2. Hairy legs. 3. Bushy bikini line 4. Messy unstraightened hair.
Surely this combination of non grooming must have some influence.
littleoldme · 28/11/2007 13:16

Loopy - Still feeling pretty mellow TBH. He'll be along when he's ready and in the grand scheme of things a week ( or 2 or 3 ] isn't that long. The only thing I'm mildly concerned about is that if I do end up going to 43 weeks, which is when I will allow induction, we are getting into the realms of Christmas. I'm having to gird up my loins enough to get myself to hosp without worrying about festive staff shortages and consultants tipsy on egg nogg. Hey - I didn't say it was rational.

RG - Your cat is playing you. I'm sure it's pretending to have a cold so you will allow it sleep somewhere warmer.

Lottie22 · 28/11/2007 13:24

Hi there - a message for AnnainNZ if you are still logging on. I am due in March but was just searching threads for mention of echogenic foci and noticed you had had those...would be interested to hear how things turned out in the end...the doc said nothing to worry about but of course I'm worrying! No other markers of down's visible, but still would like reassurance if possible.. Thanks

sparklygothkat · 28/11/2007 13:29

Hi all, you know its strange for me to be reading all these messages about labour and Callum is now 2 months old

RGPargy · 28/11/2007 13:29

Loopy - Ugh, 42 weeks!! I think i'd cry if i was that overdue!

Superloopy - Hello Due Date buddy! Sorry you are suffering in the heat - i'm glad we've got our lovely cold fresh weather here. I've been heavily pg in the summer years ago and i can tell you, it aint pleasant! Unkemptness is bound to play a part in making baby appear.

LOM - She sleeps where she likes anyway! She's even started to sleep under the cot in the corner of the baby's room! We kick her out if we find her in there but the door needs plaining at the mo, which means it's too stiff to close. Oh the trials and tribulations of having a new carpet.....

Got a vet appointment in 2.10pm so that'll take the smirk off her little black and white face! At least she's easy to catch and bung in the basket. The other cat on the other hand is a friggin' nightmare!

Gonna go to Asda after the vet too i think (not with the cat tho!) to get stuff for dinner and donuts. Yummy!

mmmmmmmm the weight gain!!.... well we haven't given the formula, with the backing of my HV and the BF HV. Recieved a letter today from the consultant, saying he is concerned about his weight gain etcetc.

My HV phoned me today and she has spoken to a dietitian (sp?) who is willing to come and see us, so my HV has done an urgent reffral (sp?)

Its weighing day on friday, sofingers crossed he has gained again.

hey guys!

Well... went to midwife - it was the nice one again and I got a sweep!!! Im 2cm dilated, waters are "bulging" apparently but cervix is still posterior. She did say if I havent had this baby in the next 48hrs she would eat her hat, so that has given me a bit of a boost!

Am at my dads now, and will stay here until tomorrow night to see if things kick off, if nothing we will go home and wait it out some more.

Booked for another sweep on monday morning, but MW was adament that visit would be a post-birth visit not a sweep visit!

How are the rest of you getting on?!

RGPargy · 28/11/2007 16:18

Sparkly - Callum's new picture in the bath is adorable! And you are right - he's still soooo tiny, bless him! So glad you have got referrals from HVs and have got people sticking up for you. It's good that you aren't letting the consultant bully you into FF! Fingers crossed for Callum to gain on Friday.

Jarm - oooooo there's hope for you yet then! It sounds very promising doesn't it! Glad she's given you a boost, although we all know the end is deffo in sight!

Just got back from the Vets and Asda. The vet said that she has either something bronchal (sp?) or feline asthma. She gave her two injections - one steroid and one antibiotic - and i have to take her back on Tuesday morning for an x-ray under general anaesthetic! Today's appointment cost me £60 and Tuesday's will cost around £130! There goes my new hair do! Still, the poor thing cant help it if she's ill. I wonder if i'll be going there with a baby on Tuesday?

So after the shock of how much it'll cost, i've had to sit down with a nice coffee and donuts.

It's been really painful to walk today. I wonder if her head is fully engaged in my pelvis now? MW appointment on Friday morning for a sweep so i'm sure she'll tell me then.

Hey JARM, how you doing?
Great news and v positive if a MW wants to eat her hat

I thought something was happening earlier too.
Suddenly started to feel v sick and had diorreah so called dh home and friend who said she would look after the kids came.
I ended up spending the day in bed and when I've got up at 4 my house has completely transformed!!!!
Its immaculate from top to bottom

I feel better now but baby is going mad in there. I havent had as much movement from him for weeks so dont know what thats all about???
But anyway I've had a spicy chinese takeaway, going to jump in a bath with some clary sage in, dh going to shave my legs and then he's going to do a bit of reflexology that worked for me when I had my dd.

I'll stop waffling now.

JARM and RG, hope to see a post from you tomorrow to say babys are here!!!!

RGPargy · 28/11/2007 19:51

Loopy - that would be typical wouldn't it?! I hope she comes earlier than that tho coz trying to keep mobile is really uncomfortable at the mo!! Plus i have a sweep on Friday so i'm putting all my eggs in that basket for a weekend delivery....

Nbg - Wow, i might try that one!! Get DP and his mum over and they might clean my house like that too!!! Good luck to you too - let me know if the clary sage works!

Lottie22 - I just saw your message about echogenic foci. I assume they have spotted something on your 20 week scan? That's what happened to me - had a scan - all lovely - found out I was having a girl - then at the end the sonographer muttered something about "Oh, calcium deposits in the heart, could mean something, could mean nothing" and sent us home! So I was worried by this far more than I needed to be. Went to my GP the next day and she referred me to hospital for follow up scan to check for any other signs of Downs - there were none.

Basically, echgenic foci are a very soft marker for Downs Syndrome, if that is all that is found then the chance of DS is still very low. They look for other things like dilated kidneys, number of cords in the placenta, cysts on the brain and lots of other things I can't remember now. Oh, the presence of a nasal bone is a big one, that reduces the chance of DS hugely.

Lots of foetuses have echogenic foci and they usually just disappear and mean nothing. They are spotted much more often these days due to scanning technology being more advanced. LIke I said, if that is all that's found the chance of DS is still low. Did you have nuchal fold/blood tests? Mine gave me a chance of about 1 in 3000 and I was told that is far more indicative than finding one soft marker at the 20 wk scan.

Anyway, I had my dd nearly four weeks ago and no sign of Downs, good luck and hope all is well. If the dr told you not to be concerned there is prob no reason to be, echogenic foci are reasonably common and usually mean absolutely nothing. Let me know if you need any more info

(Hi to everyone else, can't be that many of you still to pop now!)

JARM · 28/11/2007 20:07

still not much happening

will have to get DH to do his duty i think, will probably start things off!

cant really sit and nipple stim while at my dads so that will have to wait til bed time too!

NBG - good luck chick - sounds like you are going to beat me at this rate!

Nbg · 28/11/2007 20:08

Yep still here

I felt awful when I asked pecka to do that thread.
Didnt think palpitations were right but it wore off not long after.

And yes, its my third! You'd think I'd get one of my children on time.
