Just popping in to see if anyone is still here before I turn out the light...

BunnyBaby · 15/12/2007 11:49

Just me.. my midwife came around to see me yesterday, and although cervix nice and thin, it wasn't favourable for sweep. So she thinks a few more days. We're now spending Christmas at home, so have got tree ready in anticipation!

I believe LOM has had her bundle too - congratulations LOM!

Will let you know when I eventually get my lovely baby!

also any tips for cracked nipples? they are so sore at the moment ive decided to express for today and maybe tomorrow to give them a break, i just hope Raimee takes it from a bottle. Ive been layering on the lansinoh and changing breast pads lots but they are still so sore and cracked. i think i must have got lazy with my latching on the last few nights as it had all been going so well before! how long do they take to heal? ive found changing bf position has helped but its still really sore for the intial few sucks then calms down a bit! is this ok or does it mean im still doing it wrong? thanx x

RGPargy · 15/12/2007 12:31

Hiya Sam

Work on your latch - that's the only thing i can recommend!

Hi girls,

Congrats Ara - well done!

My midwife came to see me today, I'm now 42 weeks by LMP and 42+5 by scan. As I am as regular as clockwork, it is unusual to go over the 42 week threshold.

It would seem that by "hubby sweeps" this weekend worked somewhat and she was able to do a sweep today. Tomorrow I have to go to the hospital for monitoring. I believe they will put me under a lot of pressure to induce. I'm also going to see my reflexologist for her to do a stronger priming treatment tomorrow evening, MIdwife is round Wednesday, I have to be monitored as hospital on Thursday and it is likely they will induce me then - though I would prefer Friday.

Hopefully Baby decides to come earlier than Thursday - I must be the last person left now

How's tricks, Bunny??

BunnyBaby · 26/12/2007 19:48

Hi Girls... Sorry for long delay..

Michael Peter Crouch arrived on Friday 21st December at
5.05pm, he weighed 8lb 15oz / 4.04kg.

He was 3 weeks overdue, so the hospital put us under immense pressure to induce, and as a result he was born at Northwick Park - completely healthy and not looking over-cooked! Much to their surprise - I must just be a slow-cooker!

I was in a long labour for 60 hours as he was back-to-back and that was the reason for him being so late too as he couldn't quite get down far enough although my body was ready (bloody show 7 days before birth).

Amazingly he turned whilst I was in labour, and I had enough energy to push him out myself without forceps / ventouse. He is a real sweety!

Photos to follow, he is healthy and content and a
real Christmas present!
