Must be waters then.
Could be the hind waters that have gone a bit.

littleoldme · 27/11/2007 10:34

Happy due date Rg. If they are funny about changing your chair you can pretend to go into labour

Jarm HDD plus 1! Hope things get moving for you soon. It must be driving you mad.

ST - Get yerself down to the midwife.

My DD tomorrow.

RGPargy · 27/11/2007 10:42

Morning LOM!!

That's a good idea about pretending to go into labour!! Might give that a go if they kick up about changing the chair!

Hi all

Just sending labour vibes to you all! I know what waiting feels like - I had to wait thirteen days after due date for my little girl but she was sooo worth it. It made me a bit of a grump - do do do arrange social things and don't mope around, honestly it helps. Oh and sleep sleep sleep! You'll miss it afterwards.

Hugs from me and my little treasure!

littleoldme · 27/11/2007 11:39

Thanks Choc. I've organised a few things for this week to stop we climbing the walls. Not that it matters as I've stopped believing I'm going to have a baby. I'm going to join a circus and make my living as a life sized Weeble.[ Remember those ? They wibble and the wobble but they don't fall over]

sam86 · 27/11/2007 11:49

LOM- haha i think i will join you at the circus!! and on choudru's recommendation can we arrange to meet 4 cake if itll induce labour pls!!

just been the MW (woke at 5am and could not get back to sleep and was craving orange juice -why?!- so sent dp the garage to get some!), nothing exciting to report, am booked in at the hosp next monday to have scan etc and monitor baby and possibly a sweep then, and then be induced by the 7th dec argh (gonna hold out on that if poss!)!! still 3/5 engaged, everything else fine. still no signs at all (40+4!)

RG- Happy Due Date !!! hope you get a lovely little present today!!

ST- sounds promising! keep us updated!

Jarm- sorry its coming to nothing so far but am sure you dont have long to go now!!

might go bowling later, maybe that will kick start something...! x

JARM · 27/11/2007 11:54

well back from docs - DD1 has swollen glands, swollen tonsils and a virus of some description so all good fun - NOT!

Had a wander around town, but got sore so called DH to pick me up.

Am going to see if I can get a hair appointment for this afternoon - im at the "fuck it" stage and dont want to mope about too much.

These pains are doing my frickin head in, just wish they would amount to something!!!

One thing to be thankful for - Dad hasnt phoned yet today lol

RGPargy · 27/11/2007 12:05

Choc - Ugh, there's no way i could wait 13 days!!!! But then again, i said that about going to due date too and here i am.......

I really should organise something socially but i think you have to have real life PEOPLE to do stuff like that with, dont you?!

Sam - perhaps you're slightly lacking in Vit C or something? Sorry things aren't happening for you either! So many overdue people!!

Jarm - Sorry DD1 is poorly. Good idea re the hair do. I am thinking the same thing, but my hair has only grown a little bit so not really justifiable of a £50 hair cut just yet! Maybe nearer Xmas when i get my December "pay", if i can get away from baby for a couple of hours!

OP posts:
JARM · 27/11/2007 12:20

RGP - i havent had mine done since 14th August (my birthday) so it is in desperate need of a cut, although still havent managed to get off my arse and phone to see if I can get an appointment!

Im just thinking its probably the last chance I will get for a while, and I dont know if I could leave baby anytime before christmas!

Right - will go make that call....

JARM · 27/11/2007 12:49

yay!!! 3pm i will be getting my hair done!

DD1 although ill has decided she wants to go to school so will have a fairly quiet afternoon.

The walk to the hairdressers should do me good - its almost a mile up the road, and considering I havent walked that far in I dont know how long, should be good exercise. Will get DH to pick me up afterwards though I think!

Surely there must be more baby news from SOMEONE! Im getting the need for baby stalking!

NBG - PLEASE say i wont be like this for another 9 days, dont think i could handle it!!! I want this baby in November, but chances are looking slim, I was so determined not to make my MW appointment tomorrow but i think I can kiss that idea goodbye too!

Sam - Bowling

Jarm - Glad you got your hair appt. Enjoy - if your waters break in the salon you might get it for free...

Rg - fret ye not. Once Lo comes along you'll be up to your ears in social events. Alternatively ,you could always move to Leeds and form a baby sniffing and cake eating cooperative with me and Choudru.

iris66 · 27/11/2007 13:40

Happy Due Date RGPargy - sorry you've not got DD yet (the best things come to those who wait - she's going to come & share my birthday on Thu )

Loopy - tea tree oil in the bath!!!

JARM - my money's on your LO arriving once you've got your new car

Having a stressy day. DH getting ratty about me chucking things out, that DS1 won't do as he's told (he's 22mths FGS!)and that I want to order the rest of the xmas prezzies online rather than traipse round shops with 2 kids!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

hi all had my repeat GTT today, felt terrible from the fasting, and still having to bf too..

RGPargy · 27/11/2007 14:39

Jarm - August?!!!! blimey!! Mine would be about 10 inches long if i'd left it that long! Great for having braids put in, but raddish for having scraggy hair in your birth pics lol. Enjoy being pampered! Cant believe you're walking nearly a mile there tho. You're very brave!!

Loopy - ugh, i'm struggling already and i'm not officially overdue yet!! Hope you get your fungals sorted. How annoying!

LOM - dunno if i said last night, but lol @ Lamb Bhuna!! If i dont find any social events around here, then i will be hot footing it up to Leeds for cake and baby sniffage.

Iris - i agree with Loopy - Tell DH to shuttit or you will FORCE him to take over the presents, including wrapping!!!

Well, just got back from a walk to Toys R Us. I exchanged the bouncing cradle no probs and bought LO a little winter coat as she doesn't have one yet. I didn't bother with an all in one because we've got nice warm snuggly blankets that can go over her legs to keep her warm.

Ladies - A WORD OF WARNING!!!!! Do NOT, i repeat DO NOT leave your cats unattended with your birth pool and the pastic sheeting that's under it. Today i have used up over a whole roll of kitchen roll clearing up CAT PEE from around the bottom of the BPIAB!!! I had it set up in the front room, with a kingsize duvet cover on the floor, then the plastic sheeting over that and then the pool on top. But i should have remembered that cats LOVE plastic sheets to pee on, which is exactly what my cat(s) have done. I think it's only the male who is prone to doing it (the little bloody sod) so i've cleared it all up, folded up the sheeting and duvet cover and stood the pool on its side in the corner. If he touches it again, it'll be live cat kebabs for tea!!!! Just what you need when you're 40 weeks pg!! Still, i'm really REALLY glad that i found it today, and not when the mw knelt in it!! Can you imagine how embarrassing that would have been??! At least it didn't smell (for some bizarre reason).

Time for a nice cup of special coffee and a flapjack methinks!

rg - lol at yr naughty pussies

JARM · 27/11/2007 16:01

LOL at the cats RGP = not what you want, but it is quite funny!!!

Back from hairdressers, feel FAB! Didnt walk there in the end - chickened out and got DH to drive me, and then I was halfway home and he drove past after picking DD1 up from school, so didnt get much of a walk!!!

Feel ready to have this baby now though, hair is done and everything else is sat waiting! COME ON!!!

RGP - glad Toys R Us were so accomodating with the bouncer, and yay for winter coat - we have about 4 all in ones and 3 coats! Im a bit keen i think!

RGPargy · 27/11/2007 17:41

Silk - i love them but sometimes they can be soooo naughty!! Honestly, it was like a little moat of pee around the outside of the pool. Thank GOD i had the lid on it or who knows what might have happened!!

Jarm - glad you're feeling better now that you've had your hair done! Makes all the difference, doesn't it?!

Hi all,

Been very dipressed since friday 23rd (DD), Saw MW, had a sweep and was told that the cervix was not favourable. She in not certain terms told me to go shopping and come back next friday at 41wks. have not been very happy since then even though baby remains engaged.

I saw the MW again today and she told me I was in early labour Made me smile, did not do a sweep but said she hopes she wont see me next week.Since last night, I have been having loads of irregular tightenings but they seem to disappear and not get on to something serious

Dh is getting worried that his paternity leave is going to waste. He is also having a hard time during school runs because he gets stopped 3-4 times by mums asking 'baby yet'. Poor guy has to leave it to the last minute to try and avoid people, but each time, there is always one.

RG- Happy due date and sorry about the cat messing your pool up. Its a good thing you did not go into labour on your way back from Toys r Us

LOM/Loopy- sorry your are having trouble with the fungal infection, hopefully it clears before your LOS come.

Am due for another sweep on Friday and hopefully, I will not need it

Good evening all

RGPargy · 27/11/2007 17:47

LK - sorry you aren't in labour yet either!! At least the MW said you are in early labour, so that's gotta be good!! I'm due for a sweep on Friday too. I wonder who'll be first to pop?!

My birth story- I started feeling mild contractions on Saturday and through Sunday but was able to carry on as normal. They were fairly spaced and not to strong but it was enough to get me excited. By Monday night I was feeling they were getting stronger so rang the hospital and they said it was probably pre labour but I could come down and be assessed.
We got the hospital bag and birthing ball and bundled into the car and set off after watching Americas next top model (hehe).
At the hospital they make you wait in the waiting room and then you go into the Triage for assessment. We had to wait 45 mins and DH was getting quite stressed and went and complained and they took us through. The midwife said I was in the latent phase and just needed to go home relax and wait for things to get more intense. Have a bath try and sleep etc. She performed a sweep to get things going for me.
We went and got some food, went home I had a bath and then managed to sleep for a bit but woke again with contractions coming closer together. By 10am I was really feeling I couldn?t cope for much longer so we went back to the hospital. I was no further along and cried and thought if this isn?t even active labour how will I cope. Everything calmed down a bit and I managed to get a bit of rest. We went for lunch and had a walk around. All night I had strong contractions and couldn?t sleep I had 2 baths, went for a walk around the block at 2am. After yet another bath I woke DH at 7 and said that I thought I was getting closer probably not in active stage yet but I wanted to be assessed again just to know where I was at.
The hospital were lovely and said I was 1cm dilated and it wouldn?t be long now I felt better and calmer. I had a doctors appointment so DH took me and then we went home and went for a walk to the park. The contractions were getting stronger and staying 5 mins apart consistently. Only 4 hours after the hospital visit I was ready to go back in and I knew something was different and it was real this time. I made DH promise me he wouldn?t let them send me home again. We had to wait an hour in the waiting room which was completely horrendous but when they saw me I was 4 cm I nearly kissed the midwife. I was put in the delivery room at 4.30pm and DH went down to pick up the bags from the car. Things got much stronger and I was sick and making lots of noise.
They showed me how to use the Gas and air and I was able to relax again and enjoy the effects. They monitored me and then I got in the bath and really relaxed and was able to breathe and focus through the contractions.
At 9pm I was assessed again and they broke my waters. After that things got crazy I went back to the bath and the contractions were coming on top of each other and were so strong. I wasn?t able to focus and I wasn?t coping. I asked for an epidural so went back to the delivery suite. By the time the epidural was in I wanted to push. I was 9cm so the midwife helped push the last bit of cervics behind the babies head. The epidural didn?t take the pain away apparently it happens to some woman but it did help to make the contractions more manageable again.
I pushed for about 10 contractions and Anabel Ruth was born at 2.17 am. I delivered on my knees looking over the back of the bed but turned when she was out and saw her, she was tiny and gorgeous- 6 pounds. There was maconium in the waters which wasn?t seen before so a few people rushed in and worked on her for a while. Then DH bought her over to me and I had my first cuddle with my beautiful daughter.

RGPargy · 27/11/2007 18:47

Thanx for sharing your story, Fiona! How many baths?!!!

OP posts:
JARM · 27/11/2007 18:55
