Loopy - your DDs are gorgeous!!!!!

DJarm - Well done for smashing your own personal records. That's fantastic!

Bunny - thanx!!

Still getting a show this end and walking around/standing up is a bit uncomfortable. Sitting on the sofa is my best option i reckon. You never know, i might get to watch some Heroes after all!!

Ooh RGP - good luck!! V exciting! Fingers crossed you'll meet your little girl v soon

I'm off to pound the streets this morning after i've dried my hair - I'm getting v worried that the Braxton Hicks seem to have virtually stopped - the ones i'm getting i can barely feel. They have booked me for induction on Friday at 5pm so I have until then to try and coax this baby out!!

The vindaloo did sod all (I must have an asbestos stomach as i NEVER eat spicy food?!) so had a little cry last night before bed, boo hoo! For some reason I just don't think things are going to go my way and I desprately want to have the LO at home naturally as planned.

Lol RG, I have been doing too much sitting on my backside i think - i'm going to make myself do a spring clean after my walk, altho telly is very tempting....!

littleoldme · 04/12/2007 10:47

RG - How great would it be if we lived near enough to go to the movies together

Thanks for the offer to borrow Heroes. I would love to take you up on that. G'is a yell when you have finished them. Being as my DH is big wig in It we should have that kind of thing sussed but no.

I'm sending you heaps of labour vibes. I hope it's today for you lovely lady.hugs

Pixie - Sorry you having a hard time. Thinking if you.

NBG - I'm six days late today too. Let's hope these Lo's shift themselves soon eh.

Loopy - Gorgeous pics. What a couple of smilers

Hello again abso, ara and bunny . Good to see you

Woke up feeling crampy and sore last night and really though things might be moving. No baby waiting in moses basket for me this morning though.

RGPargy · 04/12/2007 12:13

ara - Hope you enjoy your street pounding. Sounds like far too much hard work for my liking! I think eating vindaloo would be enough to make anyone cry, let alone a desperate pg lady! Bit too hot for me i think. I'm sending you some spare labour vibes so that you dont need your induction on Friday! Telly v spring cleaning. Is there really ANY competition?!!

LOM - It would be FAB if we lived close enough for the movies. I'll shout you when i'm done watching the DVDs and chuck them in the post for you. Your DH is in IT but doesn't download??!! Wow, that's a rarety!! Thanx for the labour vibes - i hope it's today too. All this stop start business is not very good for morale! Sorry your LO wasn't waiting in the moses basket for you either this morning. What a pain. Are you still feeling niggly? Let's hope that if you are, it's the start of things for you too. We could all give birth on the same day at this rate!!

HIYA EVERYONE!!!

well im pleased to announce there is a reason ive been so quiet!!

Baby Raimee Ella Jayden was born on 2nd December at 5:28am, weighing 7lbs 9oz!! (just beat her induction appointment by two hours!).

She is absolutley gorgeous and i love her SO much!!

heres my birt story! (NEVER thought id be saying that!)

waters broke on wed 28th nov with no contractions at all, until thurs evening when they started but seemed stuck on every 5mins roughly, and died off when got to hosp and then were irregular but at least one every ten mins until sat night when was watching the x factor (!) and all of a sudden was getting one every 50secs-2mins (they didnt settle into a regular pattern at all throughout!- worrying considering hosp tried to make me stay at home till there was an exact pattern!) couldnt cope with them any morn so went in to hosp and was 4cm dilated, had gas and air, antibiotics due to waters being broke so long, and an epidural (was absolutley brilliant, they were putting it in within about 20mins of me getting there- didnt even hurt going in at all despite my needle phobia- dp almost fainted at this point tho as they had to put it in 4times till found the right place!). the ctg trace was poor so they did the FBH (?) thing were they checked her blood for oxygen levels and that was ok, at around 4am, and then an hour later ctg trace was still poor so they were about to do another FBH but her head was down and i was 10cm so had to have episitomy and forceps to get her out straight away as heart rate dropping, after ten mins she was there! last bit was a bit scary but all was ok, cord was nowhere near her neck which they had thought was the problem, and after a little bit of oxygen she was fine, started BF'ing straight away, all going great so far! even the stitches arent as bad as i thought though not v nice. she is soooo beautiful and we love her so much already! was a shock she has so much hair (and its dark like her dad! though know that might change)!

despite my bad feelings about the staff i dealt with at the hosptial from when my waters broke and the ctg scans, everyone was absolutley brilliant from the moment i got there in labour, and there was a lovely midwife who came and sat with me when Raimee (pronounced Ray-mee) wouldnt settle or stop crying on the first night! finally have managed to sleep now (first time since wed!) for more than a few hours though i just want to stare at her all the time shes so lovely!

i want updates from you all as feel ive missed loads on here!? x

sam86 · 04/12/2007 15:33

i meant birth story lol - maybe my brain is still preg!

littleoldme · 04/12/2007 16:18

Sam - Congratulations on the safe arrival of Raimee. I'm so pleased that depsite your neg feelings about your care at the start that you had such a positive experience.

Rg - I'm on and off niggily. I'm trying not to over analyse things too much as I felt like this a 2 or 3 weeks ago and nothing happened. I'm mostly keeping busy and trying to stay relaxed. I must confess though that I've been to buy Guiness today. A couple of friends went into labour after having some. I'm sure it's all circumstancial but who can tell...

sam86 · 04/12/2007 16:28

thanx LOM!

good luck with the guiness (its so horrible tho!) - cant be much longer! i want you all to come to the post natal thread wiv me! am not going till you do!! hope things kick off soon and hope ya all ok! x

RGPargy · 04/12/2007 16:32

Sam - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! How wonderful!!! Looking forward to seeing some pics!!

LOM - I know what you mean about over analysing. Nothing more has happened here either and now i'm kicking myself that i didn't take the cat to the vets!! Haven't heard that one re the Guinness! I must admit to being a bit partial to it myself, but with a splash of blackcurrant in it to take away the bitterness. It's called a Black Velvet i believe. Yum!! Hope it works for you!

I've updated the list!!

Pixie - hope you get the weight problem sorted out very soon.

Loopy - So nothing's happened from your day of niggles?? lol @ weetabix mess. Kids eh? Who'd have 'em?

LOM - thanx for limited edition vibes! Enjoy your TV

Well i'm still here! I've had a show all day that hasn't stopped and have been having a few mild contractions here and there but nothing i could say was regular (although i've not been timing them). I've even had a good snooze on the sofa and in bed because i was feeling whacked so maybe it was my body's way of helping me rest for a bit before things (hopefully!) kick off tonight. DP is feeling a bit useless at the mo and doesn't know what to do with himself, bless him. He wants me to ring the delivery suite to warn them but i've told him there's not really any need to ring them at this stage, or at least until i'm having contractions 10-15 mins apart. That's right, isn't it?!

I'll keep you posted of any developments and hopefull i'll wake up in the morning with a nice little present in the moses basket......

ara · 04/12/2007 21:48

Lol Loopy your lovely girls look like a bundle of mischief! What a lovely picture!

Congratulations Sam! what a beautiful baby

LOM - did you partake of your Guinness this evening? My DP's stepmother who used to be a MW suggested a G & T.....so thought I would give that a go.......and actually I've had three, so hopefully that'll do something - nothing else seems to be working and I'm buggered if i want to be induced on Friday, sob!

RG - hope you're doing well this evening! I'm hoping for some exciting news from you in the next 24 hours ! I am v jealous - went for long walk today, had that horrid curry last night, hung 4 new curtains in our bedroom this afternoon, tidied and cleaned, AND pounded the streets tonight after mucho gyrating on my birth ball. All this in addition to drinking copious amounts of raspberry leaf tea.

Is there something i'm doing wrong?????!!!!!!!

BunnyBaby · 05/12/2007 09:25

Morning all - still here too.

Got hassled by hospital yesterday, they wanted me to go in to be plugged into ECT?! Mentioned midwife was visiting today, and as every week would listen to heart, take blood pressure, low risk pregnancy etc..

Then she started to talk about induction. I said to call me at 42 weeks and I may consider but from all I've read, I would be likely to refuse as induction raises chance of intervention significantly.

She then offered a sweep, so I said thanks but no, would rather baby come when it wants. And TBH prefer to use good old champagne and sex method, which she agreed was a good idea.

The conversation finished with her mentioning that stillbirth chance doubles after 42 weeks. Yes I replied from 1 in 10,000 to 2 in 10,000 based on a 60's survey and the reason was for existing congenital reasons as opposed to going overdue. If placenta starts to deteriorate - baby pops out as body is clever and knows when things aren't right and responds appropriately.

I was really annoyed at all the scaremongering and the vying for intervention, My lovely midwife offered to call them to get them off my back. My hospital go off scan dates hence 28th Nov, which is likely to be correct as I have a short cycle. However the 28 day period date is 3rd Dec so I was shocked to get all this at what may be 40+1.

In the end the junior midwife put me onto a more senior midwife who was a lot more supportive and agreed to see me at 42 weeks instead. They must just be used to people agreeing with everything, however I was so shocked that the whole thing is so medicalised.

Anyway rant over
