Ara - thanx! I feel amazing, with the exception of my stitches lol. I'm sending you concentrated labour vibes to get that baby out before Saturday afternoon!!!! It's not ideal for you to have an induction, but try and stay positive if you can.

It sounds like you did an amazing job - and what a quick labour!!! I am receiving all labour vibes from your direction with great gratitude!... Ellie is absolutely beautiful, well done and enjoy her. I can't WAIT to meet our LO and see what it is! Well, come hell or high water I should have it in my arms by some point on Sunday

littleoldme · 06/12/2007 15:18

Ara - I'm 41 + 1 today. I feel your pain. I had a sweep yesterday too. Doesn't seem to having much effect.
I hope you go into labour naturally.

Nbg - Glad you eventually managed to get your sweep. I hope you manage to get your HB. We were due on the same day. sucks doesn't it. I'd been completely chilled out unitl yesterday. Now I'm just pissed off.

Keep me posted - can't be long now.

Pixiefish · 06/12/2007 15:19

congrats loopy. love the name orla.
rg- how's feeding going?

DanJARMouse · 06/12/2007 15:21

Afternoon all.

Just signing in to say congrats to all the new mummies, and RPG - very spooky that all 3 babies yesterday weighed the same!

Daniel is being a fussy little thing today, so am feeding loads and getting DH to take over for 10 mins at a time so i can wee and stretch my legs!

Did manage a trip to Morrisons this morning though - needed to stock up on Chocolate brownie bites! I thought the cravings STOPPED once you had the baby!!!

Pixiefish · 06/12/2007 15:22

you still need more calories jarm

choudru · 06/12/2007 15:34

Ooooh fab news about Loopy - can't wait to hear the details of how little (or not so little) Orla arrived.

JARM - I am kind of having cravings too. Have got into habit of having some cake/biscuits with my tea/coffee. Bear in mind, I used to just have the tea/coffee unaccompanied before pregnancy. It used to be once a day and today it looks like it will be three times. This morning it was with a kitkat, now I've just had a Mr Kipling mini battenburg and tonight it will probably be with some biccies.

Not great for the waistline, but what the hell, I'm wearing my magic pants so no-one is any the wiser

LOM, NBG and Ara - feel for you ladies. I bet it feels like your babies are never going to arrive. I think RG and Loopy grabbed all the labour vibes that were floating around in the ether. Greedy girls.

littleoldme · 06/12/2007 15:54

Congratulations Loopy I'm so pleased all went well for you .

Hello all, Its getting very busy here, its either babies arriving or people feeling niggles and nuggies hinting that LOs are getting uncomfortable where they are, they need more room to stretch! So good luck to all the ladies who are still waiting.

Tyler is feeding well and sleeps a lot during the day. He keeps me awake at night, feeds constantly and for longer! Does anyone know if this is likely to change or do is there something I should be doing. At times I do not get to sleep until 5am

RG- Great story RG, sorry you did not get to use your pool afterall, butI'm sure when you look at Ellie, it does not matter afterall

Loopy- Congratulations on the arrival of Orla. Hope to hear the details soon

sarahloumadam · 06/12/2007 17:24

Hi all
Sorry haven't managed to post before now, been a bit hectic! Congratulations to all those of you with December bambinos - I have tried to catch up on some of your photos and birth stories and they keep making me cry!

V.brief birth story!
Friday 23rd started to get contractions in the early hours. Progressed to 6 mins apart then stopped around lunchtime. Contractions on and off all day then kicked again properly Friday evening after walk to supermarket. Phoned MLU for advice re horrendous pain in back passage (sorry!) and was told that MLU was closed for night as only 1 midwife on duty! Cue much sobbing from me. Mananged to hold on until the next morning, TENS machine a life saver, went to MLU at 7a.m. and was already 5 cms dialated! Then the contractions stopped again. Then started. Then stopped. You get the picture. Transferred to hospital, induced (opted for an epidural at this point as knackered and apparent that was baby was back to back). 6 hours later fully dialated but Adam's head not fully down. 1 hour of pushing - nothing! Attempted forceps - no joy! Finally born by c-section at 4.09am on Sunday morning. So much for the natural water birth I planned! Still I experienced a bit of everything! Contrary to my fears the staff at the hospital were bloody fantastic and made me feel in control every step of the way. Epidural was also Post-natal ward was a bit too hectic for my liking though but I was able to transfer to the MLU on day 4 for a bit of peace and quiet and support with the breast feeding.

Adam James is thriving, I have just about mastered breast-feeding but he has just had a growth spurt so feeling a bit shell-shocked as he wanted to feed around the clock and I didn't really know about growth spurts and thought I was doing something wrong. He was 8lbs at birth, went down to 7lbs 4 ozs and now weighs in at 8lbs 7ozs! Am so pleased as in-laws very subtly anti BF "at least with a bottle you know how much they are getting" etc. his poos stink tho! thought breast-fed baby poo smelt of roses! any ideas?

Hope you are all feeling well and I am looking forward to getting back to grips with everyone's news.

sarahloumadam · 06/12/2007 17:27

LK = i feel your pain re constant feeding (hence crap typing now!)is your milk in yet? is it a growth spurt? if so it will pass x

DanJARMouse · 07/12/2007 00:16

yay nbg!

ara · 07/12/2007 00:30

Congratulations Nbg! Also to Loopy and Sarahlou ! Loving the birth stories, I can't wait till i have my own to post.

  • I am bouncing like crazy on my ball this evening as seems to be giving me very long and strong BH's - don't want to get too excited as I've spent most of the day blubbering after waking up to no baby.....AGAIN!!

Getting tired now though so I will see if there's anything interesting on telly and o another 30 mins before heading to bed. Called MW today to beg for secret tips to start labour (I know there aren't any, just thought it was worth a try!!) but she just said some babies need a stick of dynamite to move them...so gave in to the thought of being admitted on Saturday for most of the day but have got a wee second wind tonight. I'll get bouncing tomorrow much earlier as tomorrow night's my last chance of a home birth.

ara · 07/12/2007 00:46

hmm, haven't started bouncing again yet and still getting quite good bh's (trying not to get excited as the disappointment might be too much this time!!).
aby has also gone into an OP position and is craning it's neck so presenting top of it's head. It's been perfectly positioned for weeks and think this has only happened yesterday or the day before so I'm praying it will move back to where it was when i eventually do start labouring!

RGPargy · 07/12/2007 08:04

Good luck ara and Superloopy. You must both be very frustrated now!!

OP posts:
ara · 07/12/2007 10:56

Well...still nothing after staying up till 2am getting great and sore BH's-loads of 'em! MW's coming round this morning to listen to the LO's heartbeat.

Think i have officially given up hope of NOT being induced now and I'm crapping myself about it.

ara · 07/12/2007 10:57

How are you doing littleoldme? Any progress?

silkcushion · 07/12/2007 11:03
