mixedmama · 19/11/2007 11:13

They wont say no tho will they...

sabinar · 19/11/2007 11:15

strangely (for me) I'm actually quite off my food at the moment... I think it's all the reflux. I kind of like the idea of eating but then think of the consequences... and it puts me off.

speaking of which. Ocado man just stopped by and I have a stack of grocery shopping to put away... better go do that.

Amani · 19/11/2007 11:21

Well I've spoken to Personnel and they are happy with it as long as my line manger says it's ok. LM not in today - but can't see it being a problem especially as I trained my cover up....

mixedmama · 19/11/2007 11:31

Good. I have 9 working days after today and Wednesday will be more like half day as I have MW appointment... yay.

OP posts:
Amani · 19/11/2007 11:35

MM - Are you leaving on the 28th aswell? It can't come soon enough can it.

mixedmama · 19/11/2007 11:42

maybe I cant count.... 30th Nov. It is soooo going to drag isnt it.

OP posts:
Amani · 19/11/2007 11:44

Lol - me that can't count!
Does that mean you're not going to be on MN as frequently?

fluffymummy · 19/11/2007 11:47

Morning everyone! I'm doing an illicit catch up from my customers' meeting room whilst waiting for the rest of my team to arrive from Glasgow...(hey, suddenly train from London to Newbury doens't seem so bad!)...so just a quickie:

Amani - I'm working until 39.5 weeks, but thinking about stopping a few days earlier. BUT I am refusing to do any more flying after my trip to Glasgow next week (when I'll be about 32/33 weeks....enough already!!). Have to admit that I'm beginning to wonder if I really want to keep going that long, but I doubt they'll have sorted out my maternity cover much before that....

MixedMama - so so so sorry to hear you're feeling rough, honey...big hugs...and feel free to change your mind and come along just to drink turkish tea at the last minute!! Gutted we're not going to see you tonight

Sabinar - likewise!! But the ankle sounds bad - you definitely need to get it checked out...

Madmouse - I'm getting the same pains. Apparently it's sciatica, and doing pelvic tilts seems to help (either downward dog or just standing against a wall and tilting out the inward breath). If you own a copy of 'what to expect when you're expecting' there's a load of excercises in there that seem to help.

Thanks to everyone for the lurgy sympathy! I'm still feeling pants but its definitely 90% due to being run down and only 10% due to the minor sniffle/sore throat I've picked up from DS. Going to GP for 2 weekly check up tomorrow morning and going to spend the rest of the day working from home/in bed...

I'm still planning to come tonight unless it looks like I'm going to be infectious...I don't think tiredness is catching though ...although it sounds as though we've all got it

mixedmama · 19/11/2007 11:57

At the moment we donnt have a computer at home so no but hoping to buy a laptop over the next few weeks. Plus we will be moved by then so wont even be able to pop to mum andd dads to use theirs.

Very jealous actually my dad called me yesterday to ask me to go roundd and search for some flights.... he siad they want to go to Istanbul for the weekend this weekend coming (it is their anniversary on Tuesday next week and there is a wedding on Saturday). So jealous. I havent been to Turkey ssince our wedding 2 and abit years ago.

OP posts:
Amani · 19/11/2007 12:01

Fluffy - am you are working up to 39.5 wks. Am hoping to have a baby by then

susiemj · 19/11/2007 12:02

Morning all!

I'm off to the osteopath today as just can't tand hip pain any more. I've got a lower back problem which decided to reappear a few days ago. Then last night sciatica started up! I can't afford it but I'm past caring now... so

Madmouse - I've been necking paracetamol because of hip. Hope your back is feeling better. Sounds like you had a gorgeous weekend - until silly enough to clean - foolish girl!

Naetha - I hope your mum sorts out DSD. You will NOT want that! Stand your ground. I'm trying to sort out what to do with my mum. She's chronically ill but stil wants to come to 'help' - as if she could! Can't say no though or she'll go mad - she's like that. Dilemma!

Awen - Hope you and DS are getting on well during DPs absence. Hope scan is good. Sympathy over DSs writing. I've taught children like that and unfortunately have not found anything that really works. I'm starting to worry about the birth too.

Gingeme - sorry about the car hassles. It all seems so unfair to have ANYTHING else happening when you're pregnant!

Fluffy - Glad to hear about DH being gorgeous. Hope you're feeling better today.

Lucksalem - It's funny shopping for the baby - I thought I'd be all excited but I feel much more business like than I do when shopping for baby pressies for others. You are buying necessities, you know. My baby room's not done either. Nor is it getting done until well after baby! She's going to be with us for a while.

Ayershire - I hope you're feling better!

Amani- LOL over suitcase. Feel much the same. Am contemplating splitting into labour bag and after bag. Mmmm ... could this mean more bag shopping???? Sorry you're not sleeping well still.

Mixedmama very to hear about your vomiting. Hope it's easing off.

Lilyloo- Wow! Good timing on DHs part. What a lovely man. I could do with some jewels right now!

Hi Neuro!

Katy - Glad your DH recovered his helpfulness.

Beller - are you still flying after Take That. I'm glad they were so nice to you.

Sabinar - Sorry your ankle is causing so many problems. Online shopping as a solution to house boredom? Did you read the advice about nappies Igot from my friend? I posted it ages ago.Can do so again if you like. Totsbots seem to be the coloured ones, and they get pretty good reviews too. The motherease ones recommended by my friend have nice coloured or patterned wraps. I've decided to use disposables for the first couple of months - tiny house and no dryer! Then we'll switch to reusable - honest guv!

Barristermum- It's a bit late - but. WELL DONE YOU!

Hope those of you going to the meet up tonight enjoy it.

MrsMcJnr · 19/11/2007 12:07

Hey ladies, happy cold and bleak Monday I felt like the weekend just vanished! DH got back about 2am on Sat night (thankfully no toilet disasters) but he was very drunk and clambered about for hours before finally coming to bed at 5am ? he must have felt lousy at the NCT workshop yesterday but hid it well. NCT went well I think the course leader is very young and quite a hippy chick and some of it was a bit ?fluffy? but overall it was good and we learnt a lot. There are 5 other couples ? all foreign to these parts! Ozies, Canadians, Germans, Alaskans, Germans etc etc no Scottish couples! All of them are due before me (but I felt that I looked larger than a few! ) anyway, everyone seemed nice, knowledgeable and intelligent. So far so good

I?ll catch up now had a hectic morning with work, it looks like it is really going to ramp up before I go off, not ideal, I am trying to hit the stress as hit attacks me ? can?t have that can we!!

gingeme · 19/11/2007 12:11

Good afternoon ladies. Went to the Halifax this morning to confirm when my cheque will be clear. The very nice lady said it will definately be clear Wednesday so we can get out new car
Realy looking forward to our meet up later. Actualy having a hungry day today.
Try and come mixedmamma you know you want to
Right off to make some lunch now.
See some of you later xxx

toomanyshoes · 19/11/2007 12:13

Morning all,
just a quickie to say I'm so sorry but I won't be able to make it tonight either! We're dropping like flies!!!
One of the girls from DD's nursery was going to babysit for the hour that DH is at yoga but now DH has to go to Birmingham for work this afternoon so won't be around to collect DD from nursery and won't be back until really late. Am very as was looking forward to meeting a few more of you! Hope you have a fab time and will see if I can make the next one!
Am sending get well vibes to everybody who is feeling rubbish. I am very impressed at all of those still working, I stopped at 26 weeks! Everybody told me I would be bored etc but I am so glad I did. Last time I worked until 2 weeks before and swore I'd never do it again, after all my diabetes probs etc am v pleased I haven't had to keep apologising for being at hospital appoinments instead of in the office.
Not long now for most of you, then you can lounge around on the sofa for a bit before you pop!

Amani · 19/11/2007 12:21

SusiMJ - I do have a tendancy to pack everything including the kitchen sink.

I really can't wait to leave. Sitting at my desk all day puts a lot of pressure at the bottom of my bump, so it will be lovely to have feet up and watch a bit of rubbish day time tv...

mixedmama · 19/11/2007 12:38

I get really bad rib pain under my left breast all day whilst at work.... cannot get comfy at all and really dont know why. I was thinking it was a foot or soemthing but it is really quite painful almost like there is a bruise under the skin.

OP posts:
gingeme · 19/11/2007 12:44

Oh no toomanyshoes isnt it always the way
So how many of us are actualy coming then?

susiemj · 19/11/2007 12:46

Naetha sounds like a plan with the family..My sister keps telling me i cant stay on my own...but im not sure i like the alternatives!!!!!!

Sabinar - hope youre ankle is better soon xx

susiemj · 19/11/2007 13:08

Amani - packed my sink weeks ago!

Desperately trying not to buy cute baby things. If it wasn't for the thought of the January sale I'd be in real trouble!

Amani · 19/11/2007 13:49

lol at Susie. I wonder if I'll be able to go out during sales time too.

I've not bought many baby outfits other than body suits and sleep suits. With DD we had lots gifted to us, so will wait and see and buy when we needed. Think I am being sensible this time as with DD she was given lots of lovely clothes, half of them designer which she wore 2-3 times and then didn't fit.

mixedmama · 19/11/2007 13:53

We are adopting the same policy Amani. I have only bought one little tracksuit.

OP posts:
susiemj · 19/11/2007 13:58

I've bought a cute little snowsuit to take her home in. Apart from that I'm trying to be sensible. It's HARD though!

beller · 19/11/2007 14:00

I must admit I have bought a few sleep suits, but not that many..and my sister has given me a HUGE bag of new born stuff
