Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LilyLoo · 19/11/2007 14:04

mm i had that really bad with ds. Not as bad this time but it is agony. The only thing midwife said ws it was probably a foot.A warm bath was all that really helped although thta no use at work

madmouse · 19/11/2007 14:09

I am pretty much sorted clothes wise for the early weeks, but the only new things he will wear are from grandparents and other doting people, plus a Miffy grobag I could not resist. The rest is eBay, NCT nearly new and gratefully received handmedowns

mixedmama · 19/11/2007 14:15

Lilyloo - yeah i find a bath helps. So diffcult to fit in anything other than a shower at the moment tho as DS follows me every where. He even sits on his potty whilst i sit on the toilet and holds my hand... might be a sign that I should start potty training. I seem to get it worse at work tho.

Fighting the temptation is really hard though... see so many cute baby outfits and want to buy them all....!!

By the way Line Manager and Personnel have agreed that I can finish next week. HOOORRRRRAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amani · 19/11/2007 14:18

MM - thought I was the only 'strange' mother who let her child in when needing the toilet.
DH and I were dicussing that perhaphs we should stop now that she is approaching 2 as I don't want her to have memories of mummy on the loo seat...

mixedmama · 19/11/2007 14:22

Amani - atm he follows me everywhere. I am going to use it as a good opportunity to get him potty trained... I still put him in the baath with me atm too. I think he is still little. i still to this day go to the toilet with my mum in the bathroom and bath with her there and vice versa.

mixedmamma & amani - ds sees me on the loo (very regular occurance needing the loo atm tho ) We only have the one loo in the bathroom so sometimes i have ot race for it! Didn tthink it was strange at all.

Susie - poor you with the hip pain hope the osteopath helps. Forgot your were a teacher.

MrsMcJnr - the NCT class sound like it was good, i feel so unprepared here.

toomanyshoes & mixedmamma - hope you are feeling better soon.

Had scan today, was brilliant. Could see him sucking/swallowing with little pursed lips saw soo much detail. He had a foot up by his head too. Saw his little ear etc. He still has a very round tummy! He is about 5lb 4oz atm so not really big Looks like he will be around 8 1/2 lb if term. So smaller than ds. The dr did say that he could well have a growth spurt tho.

My bloods were ++glucose so if still showing in 2 weeks wee test need blood test. Have been given the go ahead for vbac he is head down, lying to the left. If at 40 weeks not arrived have to go in for review. The amniotic fluid is fine too and looking all ok and normal! Dp called me and is really pleased. My mum and dad cam ewith me and was first glimpse my dad had of his grandson!

xx

just today I've bought two little 'onesie's' as they call them on the US shopping sites, because they had funny/cute stuff on them. They're pretty cheap (and in US dollars) so I don't feel too guilty.

I also bought a little aromatherapy starter kit so that DH and I can play around with making our own massage mixes for the next few weeks and then for labour Looking forward to that arriving. (Also a lavender wheat bag for my poor sad ankle now and lower back later on!)

look out. the internet shopping binge begins!

sabinar · 19/11/2007 14:42
  • Awen - foot near head?! sounds like you're having a little acrobat!
gingeme · 19/11/2007 14:50

Lol at the toilet conversation. I still bath and am followed to the loo by both my boys or I have to listen to them moan outside. I have never been one for going to the loo with ANYONE else in the bathroom with me though. Even after dh seeing me give birth I still wont go to the loo with him there so to speak. Ofcourse its different if ds3 needs a wee while were out and I need to go too. dh always says ladies loos are probably alot cleaner than the mens.
Awen scan sounds brill. Ive got mine erm 4th Dec. Ill be 35 weeks then. Wow its gone so quick.
Has anyone been getting sore synuses? My eyes and around the bridge of my nose have been realy sore and tender the past few days. Veyr achey too

gingeme · 19/11/2007 14:51

Bath with thats meant to say with my boys.

MamaMaiasaura · 19/11/2007 14:55

Sabinar - i think i am, it was so amazing to seen, proper baby face and pudgy toes

Gingeme - ds and i shared bath yesterday, lots of bubbles and was lovely. There will come a time when ds is going ot be self concious and that is when it will all change. He is also loving seeing the bump move in the bath. Time has flown! Not long till your scan then, just over 2 weeks.

beller · 19/11/2007 15:10

Awen scan sounds fab! Glad you got to see alot x

Gingme - my sunus's are playing up too..more so in the morning!

Mrsmcjnr - do you have more NCT classes booked? Anyone that you think you will stay in touch with for coffee etc ?

susiemj · 19/11/2007 15:42

Wow Awen! The scan sounds amazing. Glad everything is going well. Bless your DS. When children are like that it's so hard to be discouraging. I mean, they're doing everything we ask them to, aren't they? And now we want them to do it faster and faster! They just can't get their heads around it. If they do it fast it'll be messy etc etc .. I do feel for them. IME they do tend to be able to pull it out of the hat in an exam situation - I know DS isn't there yet (I'm in secondary)but it might be reassuring to know.

I HAVE bought babygroes and vests. It's the cute little extras I'm ahving to restrain myself on.

BTW - if anyone is having mega hip pain I can really recommend the osteopath. Just got back and already feel SOOOOOOO much better. It's dear, but it's worth it. Am going back after baby is born.

fluffymummy · 19/11/2007 15:44

Awen - scan sounds fab

Beller - don't suppose we can convince you to change your mind and come out to play tonight? There'll be some space at the table!!! Go on........I'm sure we'll be done before 9, so it won't even count as a late night! And you can tape Spooks...

beller · 19/11/2007 15:48

Would love to fluffymummy, but i have a ton of ironing to do..have a lunch and dinner tom, then mates birthday lunch and ante natal wed, and an all afternoon lunch on thus!! My sofa is beckoning.....and im a dragons den girl!

mixedmama · 19/11/2007 15:50

Amani · 19/11/2007 15:52

How funky is that bag - didn't even realise TopShop done baby bags.

mixedmama · 19/11/2007 15:53

Amani - you know Topshop have a whole maternity section now. More expensive than I would like to spend on mat clothes but certainly very trendy.

OP posts:
beller · 19/11/2007 15:53

or this one..(which would match the pram! ) hahahawww.mamasandpapas.co.uk/product-253448800/type-i/

Amani · 19/11/2007 15:58

MM - Yes I knew they done mat stuff, but as you say a bit pricy and don't want to go out spending loads on clothes when I am ready to pop!
By the way are you going to take your own advice

Beller - the second bag seems more 'practicle and sensible' - depends what sort of look you are after.

mixedmama · 19/11/2007 15:59

Am going to bring it up with DH cant see that my wages for one week is going to make an awful lot of difference.

OP posts:
madmouse · 19/11/2007 16:00

Beller, though you would go for a different type of bag than me . I love the M&P one, but of you are into glam why not go for the metallic one. How badly does it show babysick (evil grin).

beller · 19/11/2007 16:02

well its machine washable!!! dosnt look it i know..but it is....hmmmmmmmmmm
