Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Letsgo · 28/11/2007 09:44

Hiya. I've not been on this for ages mainly because my computer hasn't been working at home and I can't use computer from work.

Anyway it's nice to read that people are still here on our final stretch. I'm not feeling to well so have been off work since Monday afternoon. Not sure, what the problem is but don't think it's serious - midwife has told me to put my feet up which I'm trying very hard to do.
I'm having waves of nausea which reminds me of very early days in pregnancy - anyone else suffering with that?

beller · 28/11/2007 10:12

Hi letsgo - im lucky enough to have not had any nausea at all thru the pregnancy, hope it passes soon.

Glad the scottish meet up went well! ayreshirelolo that made me giggle x

Jealous about the chinese meet up tomorrow, but I will be seeing Take That again, so not all bad xx

Still sat here on sofa in my pajama's watching Wright Stuff yayyyyyy, this is a sign of things to come after this week
Back into work for last 2 days tomorrow, hope everyone is well xxx

katyt1 · 28/11/2007 10:43

isn't it annoying when you actually have work to do? !

sab- i'm with you on the lists, things getting out of control, got loads to do feelings, how are your lists coming along?
feel like time is playing tricks, going really slowly some days then all of a sudden it's the next week and i still haven't done christmas shopping, cards, baby shopping, etc. if it comes early no-one will get presents

oh except i found the baby annabell stroller on toyrus for my niece, just hope they deliver in time...
thanks for the ebay suggestion (sorry forgotten who that was ).

lolo - love that i would def have done the same.

amani - feeling better? hope so.

letsgo - hope you feel better soon too. i haven't been sick but have had queasy moments in the last few weeks, did with ds as well, weird.

hi to becky too

at beller and anyone else able to lie about at home without a ds to pester them!!
he's a nursery for a long day today as i['m off to see my friend's newborn later, can't wait! she had a little girl (Isabella). and was up and about this morning, day after cs? wow i thought it took a lot longer to get out of bed.
thanks for the cooking tip, but she's a better cook than me by far so not sure she would appreciate my offer!!!
have got a bag of goodies, chocs, shower gel, vitamin tabs, fruit, etc. plus cheque for baby funds.

right, best get back to that work! hi all

mixedmama · 28/11/2007 10:48

Hi all,

Ok just caught up with reading everything altho must admit to skimming some cos my eyes are just not focussing.

Just found out that my french teacher from school has passed away, really silly to be upset since I havent seen her for 10 years but she was a fab teacher and ihad her for my whole five years at schoo.

LuckySalemm - congrats on the outcome of your appeal, i knew they would have to retract.

I went to my antenatal class yesterday and TENS seems to be recommended. They have a demo at the hospital on Tuesday next week and then you can rent them directly from the physio so that is wahat i plan to do. Going to use for the early part and then get into the pool (if available). MW is abit worried about me moving and getting to the hosp on time, butu i promised on the first twinge that i would at least go to my mums which is near the hospital.

Fluffy - I hate EASYJET with a passion. I flew to Barcelona with them and I will never ever unless desperate fly with them. they look like they work in sainsburys, they shout things out like market traders and i have no idea why they believe it is quicker to get passengers on board without seat numbers..... i have to say i can be abit of a ssnob when it comees to travelling and expect a certain standard from cabin crew etc. They are now flying to istanbul andi think it will be veyr interesting to see how they get a million Turkish peoplee in the height of summer onto a plane and off on time without seats numbers.

Busy day with lots of last minute meetings packed in . Was hoping for an early exit, but maybe not now.

Thanks for remembering Susie , somosas are going down a treat.

Lol at Lolo

Lots of lovely pampering pressies too

LilyLoo · 28/11/2007 11:04

letsgo can completely sympathise have felt nauseous for last couple of weeks and have been sick on a few occasions. It's awful with a big bump in the way isn't it. I had the exact same thing with dd and it lasted right up and through labour, i just have to keep running out of office and throwing up then coming back.
Much sympathy to you!

beller · 28/11/2007 11:07

Katy1 - thats what my friend Katie says to me plus she said on the plus side of being single and having babybel on the way, is i can indulge the 2 of us as and when i want , so its not all bad xx

Mixedmamma - thats reminded me to phone the hospital to book for a tour, just in case x

Amani - Glad youre having a good last day, yay to the pressies..hope the meetings arnt too long xx

Letsgo · 28/11/2007 11:19

Thanks LilyLoo

I was surprised that I would feel sick again - yak! Now I know it's normal I will just go with it and stop worrying. Last night I felt like I was on a boat - sea sick!

Just going to settle down and try to feel better. I feel guilty cos I'm not in work - I've only got two weeks left.

Amani - last day must be a strange feeling. Is it euphoric?

mixedmama · 28/11/2007 11:27

I bet it is the longest day ever isnt it Amani

OP posts:
katyt1 · 28/11/2007 11:33

tho i almost wish i had a 'proper' job so i could get the pampering pressies

fancy a samosa or 5 right now...

Amani · 28/11/2007 11:37

MM - Actually the day is going quite fast - just hoping I get everything done quickly.

Letsgo - Hi! It's nice feeling know that I will be off on maternity leave as I am struggling with bump at work and boy do I need to catch up on sleep. Looking forward to having feet up and taking life slowly before LO arrives. However in a strange way I will miss work, well not work, but the people as I have made some good friends and remember when I had DD it did feel a bit lonely at home and did miss the adult conversation and exercising my brains a little. But I will take it one day at a time, as I'm sure it will be completely different having a toddler and a baby to run around after while I am at home.

katyt1 · 28/11/2007 12:01

letsgo - hope you do feel better, tho if it's like seasickness, could you have an ear infection? i had one once and felt like that.
or it could just be pg stuff, you could try those wristbands for seasickness? they are meant to help with pg sickness too.

lucky - not sure if i ever said, congrats on your appeal, hope you find a much better place to go back to work at when you want to.

amani - you will miss the adult conversation definitely but you will get some - of a different sort admittedly - at baby groups.

to all first-timers, make the most of those baby groups, not just to meet mums, get out of the house and so on, but also cos when your baby doesn't go anywhere and all you do is drink tea, chat and feed baby, life is good . then they start crawling/climbing/walking/pushing walkers/etc. over the new little babies and you have to rush around after them! whilst the new mums tut at you (yes you will do that at first!) for not 'controlling' your LO!!!
then you move to toddler groups and conversations take place in 2min snatches as your 2 toddlers happen to play quietly in the same place, then leg it in opposite directions!

strike a chord, non first-timers???!!!

mixedmama · 28/11/2007 12:05

Definitely Katy altho I am yet to actually experience the toddler element since I have been back at work. Going to groups with two of them is certainly going to be a challenge but one I am looking forward to. Plus once we move (possibly one of the single positive elements) DS will have two "friends" very close by for play dates who are virtually the same age.

OP posts:
Letsgo · 28/11/2007 12:44

Katy - thought about the ear infection myself - I've got my normal midwife appointment tomorrow so will mention it. Also got stomach cramps but midwife seems to think it's a tummy bug. I find it very complicated as you can't tell whether it's just a pregnancy thing or whether it's something else.

I feel guilty because I'm not at work and not so ill that I'm lying in bed but I want to make sure I look after baba. I forced myself in the other day cos there was an important meeting but I felt terrible so came home.

Amani - I can appreciate what you are saying about missing the adult conversation and need to make sure that I am out and about chatting with others (I'm sue I'll manage it

Katy - I'm looking forward to the new chapter in my life - chatting to other mums about babies. Never thought I would be doing that!

madmouse · 28/11/2007 12:45

Hi all

Katyt, looking forward to see what sort of a first time mum I will make, ie which of the mistakes I vowed never to make I will make first .

Beller, we are nearly there, although I had to say goodbye to my former assistant (now admin supervisor) today as she is not in on my last day and I did not quite like that .

Amani, my samosas, springrolls, chickpeas etc have been ordered for Friday. Our receptionists brother-in-law makes the best, and a bargain too.

Enjoy your last day and tell us more about the pressies. x

Mixedmama, good to see you

gingeme · 28/11/2007 12:55

Good afternoon ladies. Ive been busy stripping wallpaper in my bedroom today with the help of my one year old. He shad great fun pulling bits just as long as he doesnt think he can do it to the new paper
Oh lolo that so reminds me of the first ever mn meet up I went to with the October ladies and was realy early (as usual) and kept smiling at all the 'larger ladies' hoping they were pregnant and the ladies I was meant to be meeting.
I hope all you poorly ladies are feeling better real soon. I have had a bit of a sicky feeling too but thats because Im not drinking enough. Once Ive had a glass of water it passes.

Amani · 28/11/2007 13:23

Just had a lovely presentation of flowers, pampering things and mothercare vouchers.

LuckySalem · 28/11/2007 14:39

Hi All,

Feeling pretty rough today. Am knackered even though have only just got up. DP gone shopping and asked him to get me some nice stuff.

He's gonna make nice dinner tonight as well apparently don't know what though.

Am watching pet rescue now, really should stop watching all the sad stuff.

Trying to get my towels dry but it won't stop raining and i haven't got enough space inside.

Want baby now, just don't want the labour! lol.

Enjoy your last day amani!

BTW, who's the first to drop? I know i'll be one of the earlier due dates (just hope beanie sticks to it)

mixedmama · 28/11/2007 14:49

Well my due date is 31 Dec so hoping that I will be one of the first, but who knows.

Gingeme - dont think I am going to be able to make meet up, DH dad is going to Bangladesh tomorrow and altho I cant finish work early to go there (and really dont want to)he will kick up a stink if I chose to go out with my internet buddies instead of see his dad. Neuro is defo up for it have been chatting to her on Facebook. Barristermum was up for it as well.

I have a whole lot to catch up on. I couldnt log on last night and the server seemed down. Good thing i guess as had to get house ready for first viewing this mornning! Only instructed agents Monday. Spent yesterday car hunting. Ended up very pissed off with a garage.. posted on AIBU thread.. she thought i was about to give birth. Posted bump pics.. am I really that big?

Been having a fair few twinges today and for the last few days. Starting to wonder if this one will be coming in the near future. Am due 31st Dec too, but been getting period like pains which eventually ease off. Also been doing ALOT of cleaning - but that is for practical reasons.

Ah well, he will come when ready, in the meantime he is fed, watered, warm and comfy. Will def catch up this evening when ds asleep. He has a friend over atm and need to go cook spag bol and clean out bunny (although not at same time!)

Still; not found a car, poss having my mums SAAB 93 3dr(lovely car) or a I looked at a citreon xsara picasso tomorrow.

susiemj · 28/11/2007 16:47

Gorgeous bump Awen! And may I say how slim all your other bits still seem. Hope you've been keeping up the eating!

I can empathise over the towels Lucky. It's a nightmare!

beller · 28/11/2007 16:48

Luckysalem - my due date is 28th..but who knows!! Don think it works like that in real life

Letsgo - hope youre feeling better soonxx

Gingme - well done for the stripping! make sure you get your feet up at some point xx

Madmouse - I said goodbye to my MD yest, as he is at a wedding in India now....all seems a bit surreal...Got lunch with the other manager of my desk tom...(then take that), then have a big lunch with all the guys from the office friday and then a few drinks with the girls after work.

Amani - Like you, I wont miss the job/work, just the people! My best mate works there too, and lives down the bottom of my road, so will still get to hear all the gossip

Letsgo · 28/11/2007 16:54

Awen - Saw your AIBU thread and not suprised your were fuming! I too am getting period like pains but am two weeks behind you. I've had it since Saturday night (woke up with it) and still got it. Midwife told me to put feet up and rest.

Let me know how you get on.

MamaMaiasaura · 28/11/2007 16:58

putting feet up and resting sounds like a fab plan. Will try to tonight. Another car hunting day tomorrow (but not in that garage ) I just couldnt quite believe the cheek. You see threads about one of the comments but she went through th ewhole likst of possible insults! lol, bet she is a mumsnetter.
