Hi ladies! Apologies for the late post. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how much weight gain is normal? I feel like I’ve put on weight in the last few days from week 11 to 12?! Maybe it’s all in my head but my waistline has def disappeared and I just feel quite big all of a sudden. I think I’ve put on approx 1.5kg from my normal pre pregnancy weight. Obv I m happy as it means my baby is happy and growing but I want to make sure it’s all a healthy weight gain so just here for some advice. Also, I think now that I have finished all Easter eggs I will make it my mission to not eat chocolate and see how long I can go. I feel like I have had too much chocolate and crisps and I need to reign it in, I think.
Xxx

@ELMcg 8.30pm meeting sounds brutal, I'm in bed by 8 😂 we're trying to get DS out of nighttime nappies at the moment and have found that waking him around 10.30-11pm for a twilight wee means he's dry all night. Only problem is staying up that late to wake him!

Definitely so difficult when work don't know, I'm looking forward to telling mine when we're back next week so I won't be expected to run from one end of school to another, be first called for first aid, generally run about like a headless chicken...

Smurf123 · 07/04/2021 08:22

@imisscoffee how old is your ds? We considered doing similar with ours except waking him to pee results in him being awake for an hour 😴
So we left it for now but he has surprisingly been dry for a few days now although sometimes waking himself to ask to go.. Last night was 130 am bit he was happy with an audio book being put on after and me going back to bed! Though he then woke wanting to get up at 440 😴😴😴 eventually he went back to sleep after 5 until 645 😂

@Pancakes7 good luck for nursery today! All I can say is I've been there in August and my ds found it tough going. Whereas he spent yesterday standing at the door asking to go play with his friends! Such a turnaround. He loves it now!

marplemead · 07/04/2021 08:52

@smarty4 Good luck for your scan today!

@Firevie I found this link really useful:
www.tommys.org/pregnancy-information/im-pregnant/weight-management/how-much-weight-should-i-gain-pregnancy
I keep telling myself I'll start eating healthily soon, but all I fancy are crisps! The specialist I spoke to at the hospital said not to worry too much when I feel sick, so I am hoping the nausea eases soon and I can work on my eating.

Firevie · 07/04/2021 09:02

@marplemead thanks for the link v useful! I think I’ll pay a bit more attention to what I eat and I’ll start exercising. I’ve always done quite a bit of sports but I stopped since I got my BFP as I wanted to cross the 12week milestone. Once I have all clear test results I’ll get back on it which will coincide nicely with the opening of gyms.
Good luck today @Pancakes7
I’ve got my dating scan and nuchal/combined test tmr at 9am. Anyone else with scans this week? Xxx

imisscoffee · 07/04/2021 09:56

Hope today goes well for you and your DS @Pancakes7

@Smurf123 he's 5 and a half 🙈 he's been out of daytime nappies for years, but I've waited and waited until he shows signs of being ready for nighttime and it's just not happened. I've always been of the mind that children potty train when they're ready and have never pushed them, which worked well for both DD and DS for daytime and DD just asked to wear pants one night and only had one accident after that. We've tried a few times over the years but I think we need to get it sorted before this baby arrives, and before I get too big to change sheets at 3am. He is a deep sleeper, and doesn't mind laying in soaking wet clothes- often I'd go in his room in the morning, he'd be wide awake laying in bed and I'd ask if he'd had a leak and he'd say no. Even when I show him how soaked he is. We bought a mat with an alarm built in and that's been really useful, initially it wasn't waking him when it went off but it wakes us, and we found that he always wees around 10.30-11pm and around 3am. Now we're doing the twilight wee, hes started staying dry all night touches all the wood and only has the 3am wee once a week or so, and the alarm wakes him now and he goes straight to the toilet so it's just a quick pj/ sheet change and mat wipe instead of stripping the whole bed and quilt each time.

HereWeGoooo · 07/04/2021 10:42

12 weeks scan for me tomorrow too. I feel calm enough but literally no idea what they're going to tell me. I don't feel particularly pregnant now. Still not that interested/ a bit turned off by food with a small appetite and smells bothering me a bit but nothing like they were earlier - but is it all on my head? I have a pretty huge bloated belly considering not eating that much. Just want to get the good news tomorrow because can't face going through this all again. Just keep telling myself 'why wouldn't it be okay?' I've had no bleeding, no pain, I've seen heartbeat at 8w5d, so I'd have to be very unlucky for it not to be okay? Want to start enjoying my life again haha feels like I've just been in limbo counting down the days til now. One more sleep!!!

ELMcg · 07/04/2021 10:57

@imisscoffee @pancakes7 I can confirm meeting finished at 9.05 and I was in bed by 9.15 😂.

Although the nighttime pees have now started in full swing so was up again at 3am 😴. I was literally only pregnant a few months ago and forgot about so many things, nighttime wees, hormonal headaches. The fun never stops!

Bellabubble · 07/04/2021 11:17

@Firevie I have put on what seems a lot of weight initially even though I’ve felt so sick I barely eat anything! I was shocked - although I can’t say my last weight before I fell pregnant again was completely accurate as it was about 2 weeks after my surgical management that I weighed myself - then didn’t weigh myself again until my dating scan at 13weeks and I was 4kgs heavier! My friend did remind me my boobs had already started to grow (I had to use maternity bras from week 7) and I felt super bloated so I’m hoping that’s it! I have eaten really healthily though as my body has struggled to eat anything greasy/fatty/sugary or sweet - so it’s mostly been veg/hummus as snacks, cucumber (loads of cucumber lol!) soup for lunch and half my normal dinner portion as I feel so ill when I eat! My husband has been eating the same dinners as me but his portion size (and cut down his sweet intake massively in support of me - and has blooming lost a stone already!! 🙄)

Bellabubble · 07/04/2021 11:21

@Pancakes7 hope work and your little boys day at nursery are flying by for you both xx

@PumpkinEverything honestly - I can walk around the class and you walk right into a wall of gas! Some of them really take your breath away 😂

I have just this week started to tell more people, I’m 15+3, but initially only my Mum, Dad and sis knew (and oh mum and sis) and 2 of my close friends. Both have been really sensitive about things (they both knew about my previous miscarriages and have also recently had babies of their own which they were also really sensitive about bless them!) but I do feel like as time goes by, everyone else seems more excited than me! I’m not sure I’ll start to feel excited until I can feel movement and know I can “keep track” of things if that makes sense!

smarty4 · 07/04/2021 14:49

Good luck for tomorrow @HereWeGoooo I kept that mindset going in to my scan today, there's no reason it wouldn't be ok. Everything crossed for you.

My Scan went fine. Both babies look healthy and measuring the right size (13 weeks plus 5 days).
I’ve opted for the screening (downs, edwards etc) so just waiting for the results to come through in the next few weeks. I had to see a screening midwife as it's not as straight forward for twins. So much information was given today, I feel drained.
Twin B was being a little so and so and would not stay still for the scan, scan lasted an hour. My bladder was bursting!

I may be brave now and join the FB group, I think I remember reading there was one. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Cafeaulait27 · 07/04/2021 16:01

@smarty4 congrats!! I didn’t realise you were expecting twins?!

I’m in a fb group called ‘autumn girls 2021’ if you want to join that one apparently it is searchable xxx

HereWeGoooo · 07/04/2021 16:31

@smarty4 wow great, relieving news for you! Lots of information for twins but glad they're being thorough. Two very healthy looking booming babies you got there!!

smarty4 · 07/04/2021 16:32

Thank you both. I'll check out that FB group @Cafeaulait27

lamby12 · 07/04/2021 16:44

Has anyone had a random sickness free day??? This is the first day I haven't felt sick or any pregnancy symptoms in a few weeks and I'm panicking (7+4) I know I should be enjoying it...!

lamby12 · 07/04/2021 16:52

Oh 7+6 actually, that's good I lost track for once!

PumpkinEverything · 07/04/2021 17:02

@smarty4 there’s a fb group that I’m in along with 4/5 others from this group, it’s not the searchable one as it’s both private and hidden, and I think our group is more active than that one 🙈 if you want invited, can you send me a PM with your email address that’s linked to your fb account and I’ll try add you? Had some technical issues with adding people the last week, but as a workaround I can add people as friends and do it that way 😊

Same goes for anyone else who’d like to join in with an October baby!

smarty4 · 07/04/2021 17:23

Thank you @PumpkinEverything I'll PM you now. I found my group from my son invaluable and still going strong nearly 5 years on

PumpkinEverything · 07/04/2021 18:33

I really like our group @smarty4 I’m in the other one you’re in, and it’s really not as active. There’s another one too but they capped it quite early on so most people in the group are due early October, and I’d be one of the last ones and I’m only due on the 11th! The one I just invited you to has quite a few girls with similar stories to all of us so it’s nice to have people who understand 😊

vitaminb33 · 07/04/2021 18:46

Aw congrats @smarty4 that's lovely!

I've drifted away a bit recently, hope everyone's doing okay! Getting a bit nervous as I'm approaching 11 weeks which is where my last pregnancy went wrong. Keep getting uncomfortable moments of dejavu even though this pregnancy is pretty different so far, and the "checking if I'm bleeding" anxiety has gotten much worse. Hopefully once I'm past 11 weeks (🤞) I'll feel better.

@lamby12 yes for sure my nausea has been pretty bad and I've had random days off here and there, think that's very normal!

Firevie · 07/04/2021 19:18

Hi everyone! I just received an email from my private doctors PA. My harmony results came back normal the email says and the attachment says low probability for each of the markers they tested. I think I’m reading it correctly. I also know the baby’s gender....I am so grateful everything is fine. I expect the nuchal scan / combined screening to go well tmr at my NHS appointment. And once I have those results I will hopefully be able to relax a little. Today I have felt very tired and I have that pulling in my pelvis area on the right hand side which is really annoying. Glad it’s my scan tmr. Anyway I will stop babbling on. Hope you’re all doing well xxx

PumpkinEverything · 07/04/2021 19:45

Think that’s completely normal @vitaminb33 I think all of us have went a bit quiet on here at some point due to nerves. Really hard not to feel that way, but you’re almost there! When’s your 12 week scan?

Glad to hear that @Firevie and so exciting you know what you’re having! My guess is a girl 😁 based on absolutely nothing haha. Hopefully you feel relaxed this evening going into tomorrow after the news ❤️

ELMcg · 07/04/2021 19:58

@smarty4 ahh little twinnies! Congratulations I didn't realise there were twins in the group.

Lovely scan pics too 😊

Pancakes7 · 07/04/2021 20:09

@PumpkinEverything @Pancakes7 thanks so much! Sorry I just realised I didn’t say what I was having. I’m having a baby boy 🥰
