@vitaminb33 every four weeks from 28 weeks so my first one is 05 July. Dreading them 🙈 didn't have any after 20 weeks with my daughter and it was bliss!

Ah not long to go now. Looking forward to your update, it is the longest scan but so detailed and you get to see so much.

Smurf123 · 18/06/2021 14:25

Good luck for your scan @vitaminb33

I'm sat in the maternity assessment unit. I feel silly for being here though. I was here last night.. Sent home around 2am. Stomach has been cramping for the past few days.. Comes and goes. Yesterday afternoon it started again and was happening every hour or so. Not all sore but uncomfortable at best. Was told to come back if it continued and got more often than every hour so I'm now back again as they have been every 30-45 mins since this morning. And I feel a bit nauseous with them. It's probably just braxton hicks or whatever. Hopefully. Baby is kicking which is reassuring. I'm probably panicking over nothing.

Hope everyone else is well

Firevie · 18/06/2021 16:44

@vitaminb33 hey you, hope your 20week scan went well!
@MrsTD88 how come you’re having growth scans?
@Smurf123 hope you and your baby are okay!
Hope you all are fine. Feel like we have all taken a bit of a back seat on the group which hopefully means that everyone is enjoying their pregnancies. Not long to go now ladies! Xxx

vitaminb33 · 18/06/2021 16:55

Hope everything went okay @Smurf123! I spent so much time in the day assessment unit in my first pregnancy, I always felt silly and it was always okay, but good to go in!

Thanks @MrsTD88 @Firevie, the scan went smoothly (and the sonographer was really supportive and explained everything as she checked it) 😄 so relieved and exhausted. Also found out we're having a girl!

Bellabubble · 18/06/2021 17:09

@vitaminb33 heya! Yeh the midwife appointment went ok - my blood pressure was ok and there was no protein in my wee (it amazes me how they can tell that feom a urine dip!) she said to keep an eye on it, but that it sounded like it was my ordinary retinal migraines. How has your scan gone? I was ok for my 20 week scan - but ai’m a bit obsessive about monitoring movement now! I have had days where baby seems to move loads, and days where there are less, but the midwife said that’s normal for now as the baby is still small enough that I wouldn’t feel it all the time. She said once they get to between 28-31 weeks the space grows smaller for them so I’ll feel more movement all the time. Still doesn’t stop me panicking though!

Hope you’re ok @Smurf123 how many weeks are you now?

MrsTD88 · 18/06/2021 17:13

@Smurf123 definitely still best to get these things checked out. You're in the right place and you don't want to spend the weekend worrying and wishing you'd gone in.

@Firevie I'm classed as high risk this time because my daughter was 2 weeks over due, weighed over 9lb and I had to have an emergency section in the end. It's good they are keeping an eye on things and won't let me go overdue but it causes so much anxiety every time I go for a scan. The good thing is it feels as if the weeks are coming round really quickly now!

@vitaminb33 so glad all went well for you. Congratulations on your girl 👧🏼 we're having another girl too! X

Garman · 18/06/2021 18:03

Congrats on all the 20 week scans! I'm 21 weeks now, mine was supposed to be next Friday in the afternoon which would just be painful to wait for as my dc finish school at 12 that day for summer and I'd have my own anxiety as well as having to entertain dc but epu rang today and moved it to Wednesday at 9am which is so much better! We will finally tell our dc inlaws after it if all is okay, haven't told my family yet other than my mum and my closest friend.

I have no concerns about movements here anyway, it's constant, absolutely constant, for the last 2-3 weeks. I'm just worried about all being okay on the scan.

Smurf123 · 18/06/2021 18:10

Thank you all im just home. They did a fibronectin test which came back negative as they were worried about preterm labour following the ctg but thankfully it came back negative so they've sent me home to take it easy, drink lots of fluids and take paracetamol where needed. They said it could just be an irritated uterus but for now they aren't worried about pre term labour.

I'm 33 weeks now. So 4 more to get to term. Back on Tuesday for my preplanned growth scan with consultant.

Smurf123 · 18/06/2021 18:11

Great news on your scan @vitaminb33

Bellabubble · 18/06/2021 18:47

@Garman my tummy is often feeling like it’s bubbling away especially in the eve (that’s what my movement feels like - as though I have eaten something that is going to disagree with me 😂) but I find it surprising how easy it is to not keep track of it in class during the day! I have 22 year 1 and 2’s and as a cohort, the fact that they had 2 lockdowns out of school has meant they have struggled coming back to class and having to share 2 adults between all of them, so I find a lot of my attention if focused on them and re-teaching the not talking over each other/waiting for me to help the child I’m with before getting to them (and the other 20 also waiting bless them!) I can get to lunch time and realise that I haven’t necessarily clocked any movement until I have sat down to eat!

Bellabubble · 18/06/2021 18:47

@vitaminb33 sorry I completely missed your post before I posted mine!! Glad it all went ok - congrats on your little girl :)

Firevie · 18/06/2021 18:55

@vitaminb33 glad it all went well and congrats on your girl ❤️❤️
@Smurf123 glad that you’re home. Hope you can relax a little now. 33weeks yay not much longer to go!!
@Bellabubble I’m exactly the same. I started feeling flutters around 21weeks and now feel them every day but similar to you I now also constantly obsessively want to feel it all the time! 😂 how many weeks are you?
@MrsTD88 hope the growth scans give you all the reassurance!! How many weeks are you?
I’m 23+1 today ❤️❤️❤️ And I absolutely love feeling my baby boy - the most magical feeling in the world xxx

MrsTD88 · 18/06/2021 19:14

@Garman I need some of your self control! As soon as we had our dating scan we told everyone 🙈

@Smurf123 glad all is OK, make sure you do get plenty of rest.

@Bellabubble I sometimes find I've been so busy I haven't thought about movements and then obsessively sit waiting for them. She is very active though.

@Firevie I'm 25+4 today. Going so quickly now isn't it.

Firevie · 18/06/2021 20:01

@MrsTD88 ah you’re 2weeks ahead of me! I somehow find that time is going slower. It’s probably because I have another 3weeks until my next scan haha. Xx

Bellabubble · 18/06/2021 20:21

@Firevie I’m 25+5 :) I was lucky and felt flutters very early (my placenta is high and at the back) and it’s starting to wake me in the night if he/she gets too over zealous with the wriggling 😂 but I find at school I just don’t keep teack of it as much, but I am on my feet loving around the classroom so the midwife said it could be that the baby is lulled to sleep when I’m moving - with the noise in my class I have no idea how they’d sleep! I’m sure they must be able to hear the constant babble lol!

Garman · 18/06/2021 20:36

Mine moves constantly when I'm sitting, I sit a lot for work and because I feel like utter shit still so it's always moving and I have to adjust how I'm sitting or get up etc. Definitely wasn't like this so early with my others!

@MrsTD88 I don't like announcing pregnancies at the best of times, and this time I had weeks and weeks of bleeding after a mmc in December so I didn't want to discuss it at all with anyone, as everyone gets all excited and we couldn't feel that way at all yet.

Everything is pinned on the anomaly scan next week. Announcing it will draw my inlaws on me too including my horrible mil and painful small talk from my sils so the longer I avoid that the better!

Bellabubble · 18/06/2021 21:00

@Garman yeh I definitely find sitting makes the movements feel stronger! I guess when I’m walking round my body must stretch out a tiny bit more so he or she feels like she has more space 😂

MrsTD88 · 18/06/2021 23:07

@Garman I can totally understand that. Especially the small talk part!

Firevie · 20/06/2021 11:21

Happy Sunday ladies! Quick question - has anyone started shopping? If so, what/where from? And will you be having a baby shower? Xxx

Bellabubble · 20/06/2021 11:47

@Firevie I ordered some of iut fordt ‘big’ items about 3 weeks ago (I’m 26weeks now) as this is our first and I’m spreading the cost as much as possible :) So far I have ordered a cotbed/mattress and set of drawers, and the buggy. Next is the car seat. I am bery lucky in that I have 2 friends (one has an 8mth girls and the other has a 4mth boy) so they have both saved things like baby baths/bouncers etc to pass on to me, and I’ll pass back if/when they have more. Oh - I also want to use re-useable nappies, so I have got a few of those as there were amazing deals during re-iseable nappy week lol and if I got what I needed all at once it would have been a bigger outlay. I’m not sure I’ll have a baby shower though - I’m not good as the main focus of attention lol!

Garman · 23/06/2021 12:33

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well.

We had our 20 week scan this morning, am 21+2 today. All looked good thankfully, I was really braced for bad news after mmc last year and so much bleeding early in this pregnancy.

Placenta is covering the cervix completely at the moment, will have a follow up scan in 8 weeks to see if it's moved at all.

MrsTD88 · 23/06/2021 13:15

@Garman Glad to hear your scan went so well. Hopefully your placenta will move up as the weeks go on but good they're keeping an eye on things.

Garman · 23/06/2021 14:02

Thanks. I've a slim chance of vba2c anyway so if it doesn't move and the decides on a section then so be it, wouldn't have been my first choice but would be necessary!

vitaminb33 · 23/06/2021 14:15

Congratulations @Garman that's brilliant news! It feels like such a big hurdle to get over. I also struggle a bit with announcing (my preference would probably to wait until 2 weeks after they're born), but thankfully I've found the reactions less intense this time around 😅. Good luck with it!

Firevie · 24/06/2021 07:15

@Garman congrats that’s great news! I’m 24weeks today and really happy about teaching this milestone. What are the next milestones everyone is looking forward to? Xxx
