one piece of advice Rg. If you aren't managing then insist on seeing a breastfeeding counsellor/expert

So pleased you had a good day loopy - am very after DD1 having me up at 2.30am for the night!

False alarm here tonight - thought things were kicking off, but its all stopped again!!!

Guess I just need a really long walk tomorrow..... really want baby to arrive on his due date!!!

Its ok, DD1 has decided she has to go to sleep in our bed at the moment, and mummy has to lay with her until she falls asleep - i think they are picking up on the changes ahead!!!

DD2 isnt all that bothered, but then she never has been! She slept through the night from 7 weeks!

RGPargy · 24/11/2007 21:36

Pixie - thanx, i will. When i think back, i'm quite cross about how my "attempt" was handled with DS. OK he was in SCBU but he was born at 37 weeks so could do it. Basically, he was put to my breast without me being told HOW to get him to latch on or anything (i was completely clueless about BFing) and then the MW just said "ah no, he's not really interested is he" and walked off! So that was that! I was left to FF and not shown how to BF again!! The only thing i DID do was express for the 2 weeks he was in SCBU. I will deffo get the support this time around tho. I'm such a question asker these days that i wont let anything go until i completely and fully understand it!

Loopy - So glad you had a good day! Glad you filled me in re the third labour scenario. I'll know that for next time.

Jarm - I thought that too. I was getting loads of BHs earlier and thought "this is it" but it's stopped again for me too. How frustrating! I do have a weird feeling that baby will be coming soon tho, and i'm sure it's nothing to do with my due date being on Tuesday!!

Hi everyone

I havent posted on here much have I
Probably because I dont hold much hope that this baby will be a November one lol.

I'm not getting any twinges really. Just some good BH's every now and then and have had a couple of sharp pains down below which I think is baby going down a bit further.
I was 2/5 engaged last sunday and I have another ante natal check tomorrow so we shall see.

I'm still racing you JARM

RGPargy · 24/11/2007 21:37

Jarm - be careful about DD1 starting off in your bed. My sister had to do that with her DS and she would have to lay on her bed for at least an hour while her DS went to sleep! Just dont want you to make a rod for your own back, IYSWIM.

Nbg · 24/11/2007 21:39

Hallooooooo

Are you still doing your radio sessions RG?

JARM · 24/11/2007 21:55

NBG!!!!!

How you doing chick? Im not holding out tooooooo much hope of a november baby now, but would love it to happen before next weekend!

DD1 wont be in my bed for too long, I think she is just being extra clingy in general at the moment - she wants me all the time, and she is usually such a daddy's girl.

Still cant stop eating, despite feeling so sick I want to throw up - and am also on day 4 of "digestive discomfort" Just wish i knew what was setting it off!

Am just watching the end of Im a celebrity, then im off to bed, im just far too knackered to bother staying up much longer.

Will check in tomorrow people, take care xxx

RGPargy · 24/11/2007 22:02

Nbg - alas no, I've been far too tired to even THINK about getting on the decks, let alone having the energy to do a radio show!

Jarm - Ah ok fair enough (re DD1). Cant believe you're still having digestive discomfort! Perhaps something IS happening?? Who knows!!

Have a lovely kip, see you tomorrow. xx

Morning Gals. Hello again NBG and Pixie - nice to have you back.

JARM - Sorry you are still feeling ill I hope it either stops really soon or, even better, that your LO arrives bang on time to put an end to all this rubbish pg business.

RG - I'm sure you'll have a more positive BF experience this time

Sam LOL re your firemen

Thankfully, although most hormotional, I'm feeling physically much better YAY.

Watched holiday airport yesterday. Had LOL when I burst into tears at all the people hugging each other when they came off the plane and met their families. And as for X factor, well that had me in floods. Beverley going was an absolute disgrace.

JARM · 25/11/2007 06:50

Morning!!!

Glad Im not the only one up this early - bloomin kids!!!

Plan on doing LOTS of walking today, big long walks, even if it means doing it on my own!

Xfactor was a disgrace last night - Hope should have gone home, they were crap! (IMO!)

Severely suffering with heartburn at the moment, woke me up at 3am and I felt like i was going to die! Still got it this morning - obviously garlic bread with my pizza was a bad choice last night!!

Would it be so bad to have turkish delight for breakfast?! Really craving it at the moment..... maybe i should just save it for tonight!

Nbg · 25/11/2007 09:15

I cant believe you can manage to walk JARM!
I'm in total agony with spd. I cant even take dd to preschool which is 5 mins round the corner, if that!

Eat the Turkish Delight though
I've just had pancakes and now onto my craving of ice cubes.

I plan to do nothing today, tomorrow or the day after lol and it will probably stay that way now till Mr man arrives.

JARM · 25/11/2007 09:30

Thats how ive been NBG, but i cant sit around a minute longer, im so bloody fed up and uncomfortable! Im going to walk walk walk and not stop until i cant bear it any longer!

Am at my dads already, so will be heading into town or the park soon.... COME ON!

littleoldme · 25/11/2007 10:07

Jarm - I'd eat the Turkish Delight. Sounds like the perfect brekkie to me.

Enjoy the walking. I expect to hear reports that you are in labour tonight.

NBG- Poor you with SPD Mine cleared up by about 30 weeks. I can't imagine how painful yours must be by now.

Loopy and Jarm - I never knew that 3rd labours were s'posed to be so so stop start. Why is that?

Well, to stop myself going insane I've enlisted my mates in a 'walk the preggers lady' programme. Each day someone different is going to come for a poddle in the park with me. It'll be raffia basket weaving and trips to the garden centre next. I feel like some elderly spinster Aunt who 'needs the company' LOL.

Nbg · 25/11/2007 10:58

I like the garden centre idea.
They'll be full of christmas stuff too now

I must admit, I do admire your get up and go attitude JARM.
I'm hoping mine will come back afer baby arrives!

I did have a few tightnings last night and they were 8/9 mins apart but I fell asleep in the end and itobviously amounted to nothing!

JARM · 25/11/2007 12:19

Its so frustrating isnt it NBG.

Im back from my stomp around town - a little earlier than i would have been thanks to an attack of "digestive discomfort" - i just wanted to get back to the safety of my dads!

DH has knackered the electric window on the car, so its now stuck half way up...... god only knows how we are gonna sort that out, its a heap of junk anyway and we have NO money.

Right enough whinging, am off to feel sorry for myself and wish this baby out!

sam86 · 25/11/2007 12:44

LOM- how was the party? feel like havent been to one for ages!

jarm- wish had your motivation! youve inspired me to walk the dog today though! (well its more like him walking me so might wait till dp gets in!)hope ya had the turkish delight tho they are horrible!!

giant buttons are the best, i had a month of craving them constantly! they were only normal rolos tho . . might have to take that up with dp!

thanx for the advice on BF - am pretty determined to do it but nipples so sore already and havent even started! have bought a swing pump and everything though so am fairly set on it, got the lansinoh ready!

ive given up hope of a november baby too tbh! got a MW app on tues and didnt think id have to go but seems now i will! does everyone see theres every week now as ive only seen mine ever 2 wks still? il be 40 +4 on tues tho so am sure shell be seeing me the week after if baby isnt out! MIL seems keen to be at the birth- i wouldnt even let my own mum there! only trust dp to see me like that! no signs whatsoever and am sick of ppl asking if theres been "any signs" or if ive had the baby yet dont they think they would know!?

anyone got their tree up yet? contemplating doing it today/ tommorrow !! x

Nbg · 25/11/2007 12:48

Oooh I rally want to put my tree up but dh says not till 1st
We are getting a real one but we put an artificial one up in our family room.
I dont think it would hurt

Well done on the exercise JARM!
Go and give yourself a pat on the back with a Turkish Delight

I was supposed to be having a MW out this afternoon for my antenatal check but I've rung them to cancel it.
I cant be doing with being poked about today.

sam86 · 25/11/2007 12:55

cant even imagine how horrible must be with spd- i hate it when the MW makes you breath in and cups their hands sort of under your womb (!?why do they do that?!) - that must be even more uncomfy for you. you can see you MW on a sunday? do they come your house? can only see mine on tues at the docs!

think il deffo be putting it up tonight then! dps been begging me to let us put it up for the last few weeks (!!) the house opposite has theirs up so we wont look like the only crazily early ppl! suppose if baby decides to make her appearance this week then it will be for the best to get it up now! (plus gives me an excuse to eat the chocolate deccies!!)

jarm pls have a doughnut instead! thought of turkish delight is makin me feel sick lol!! x

sam86 · 25/11/2007 13:18

have just seen about 20 kids toys adverts in 3mins! part of me is excited can play with all these brill toys with baby soon but the other part is v worried am gonna be bankrupt!

RGPargy · 25/11/2007 13:33

Afternoon ladies!

You've been chatty this morning!

LOM - how was the party? I'm determined to have a more positive BF experience this time around. I think 17 years ago there was just not the support around, or if it WAS around, it certainly wasn't advertised! Also i think the internet plays a huuuuuge part on keeping people informed these days. When my son was born in 1990 there WAS NO INTERNET!!!! Can you believe that? It makes me wonder what on earth i did with myself pre-internet days!!!

I was also in floods with X-Factor last night. Would have preferred Hope to go home rather than Beverley. TBF tho, that little 16 year old does have a good voice.

Glad you are feeling better now.

It's a good idea re the Walk the Preggers Lady thing you've got going on. You're lucky to have friends that will do that for you! I would love to see people during the day, but alas the only conversation i get is from either the cats or you lot on here!

Jarm - I've been having a lot of heartburn too lately. Much more than usual for some reason! I really REALLY hope you had your turkish delight for breakfast. I approve of that breakfast whole heartedly!!!

Nbg - sorry you are suffering with SPD. I dont think i can walk as energetically as Jarm, but i'm still fairly mobile once i get going lol. If i stop for too long then it's plenty of ooooo's and aahhhh's when i get up and get moving again lol. Does your mw always come out to you on a Sunday?! Blimey!

Sam - I've got the Lansinoh at the ready too lol. Apparently another good way to stop getting sore nips is to just rub a bit of your milk over your nips when you've finished feeding and then allowing them to dry naturally in the air for as long as possible. Obviously make sure you have adequate window coverage or you'll get done for flashing!!

I'm also only seeing the mw on a 2 weekly basis and i think it's fairly normal at this stage unless you are overdue perhaps. My next appointment is on Friday and i'll be 40+3 by then so my mw has booked me in for a sweep. Fingers crossed that'll mean i'll have my baby at the weekend. Yay!!!

What's this cupping under the womb thing you're talking about?!!! Is that an internal examination or an external feel around?

HUSH with all this talk of putting christmas trees up!!!! You're all bloomin' barking i tell ya!!! I'm such a stickler for tradition and i dont think i've EVER put my tree up before 13th December as this is the twelfth day of Christmas. According to tradition, you put your tree up 12 days before Christmas and take it down 12 days after. I most certainly will NOT be putting it up in November!!! haha!!!

We're off to B&Q today to get a little chest of drawers for the baby's room. We're also gonna look at pictures for the wall and hopefully i can convince DP to get a different pair of curtains too as the ones we've got in there i just really dont like! They were only a tenner tho so i think we can justify buying another pair. I suppose you pay for what you get, eh?!

Think i'll convince DP to get donuts and hot choc too on the way back. Oh and i think we're getting the cot over today too from DP's parents. It'll be FAB having it up in the room!!! Yay!!!!

OP posts:
sam86 · 25/11/2007 13:52

sorry RGPargy!! i dont think me or dp have the patience to wait till 13th December! theres quite a few up already round ours!

talking of curtains youve reminded me we need curtain hooks - thats the only thing left to do in her room! wish the dog would stop going in there and battering her rocking horse! if he does it when shes here and wakes her up il kill him!! he sets it off too (it neighs and does a clip clop sound when you press it) and it is really scary when it goes off in the middle of the night! start thinkin its the horsemen of the apocolyspe (prob spelt v wrong!). . .!

same here withe the heartburn- feels like its in my ears sometimes its that bad! really praying the hair thing is a myth lol!

haha god it is mad to think there was never an internet!

the cupping thing is external- i prob havent given a very good description! all 3 of the MWs ive seen have done it so hope its not just me !?!? it hurts and makes me feel sick for bout an hour, dunno if thats them checking if baby is engaged? they sort of push their hands down on the bottom of your stomach whilst making you breathe in deeply?

hope you have a good time in B&Q! hot choc n doughnuts! yum! is it too early for choc ovaltine?! its all i seem to drink lately (its full of folic acid and vitamins thats my excuse!) x
