oh my its been quiet today! Where are you all - not popping babies i hope!

well, its been a mix of a day for me, started off ok, went to the dump and to morrisons for a few bits.... came home and was shattered so went back to bed for an hour or so.

This afternoon we took the girls round to the sea front for 45 mins just to let off some steam, and then my bro and sil came over for a tea of hotdogs, followed by fireworks and sparklers and then of course.... APPLE CRUMBLE AND CUSTARD!!!

THey have all just gone home, so me and DH are in bed - him reading, me on the laptop

TMI ALERT!!!!

Anyone else got piles?! OMG - this is my 3rd pg and this is the first time EVER Ive had piles...... i was a bit freaked to start with wondering what the hell these lumps were round my bum and then it clicked! Have got Anusol cream that DH is not impressed about applying, but is doing so for my benefit! Anyone else suffering?!

ChocolateHobnob · 03/11/2007 20:57

Good luck ELB!!!

And yes it has been quiet, hasn't it? No babies here, not even a twinge. Have been out for lunch and to visit my grandmother, and am watching the X factor tonight trying to disregard the fact that I'm overdue. Oh and have had chocolate caramel shortbread and chocolate brownie (oops).

I've never had piles, Jarm - poor you - nasty pregnancy side-effect! Mind you later pregnancy has played havoc with my digestive system and not in a good way.

Fiona, why was the hospital depressing?

Hope you're all having a fun Sat night/watching fireworks/the X factor/resting!

RGPargy · 03/11/2007 21:00

It has been really really quiet hasn't it! It's not like us AT ALL!!

Glad you had a productive day Jarm. Sorry you're suffering from piles! Never had them myself (yet) and i hope it stays that way too!

Pixie - thanx for updating the list. How do you pronounce Swyn's second name? Welsh names are lovely

i was feeling a bit down today and a bit fed up with not being able to bend over, move freely, and even wipe my front bum without trouble so DP went up the shop and surprised me by coming back with a lovely WISPA!! Yay!!!!

Now we're just chilling in front of the tv, trying to reassure the cats who are shit scared of all the bloody fireworks that are STILL going off and have been going off since about 5pm. Dont want to be a kiljoy or anything but FFS, give it a rest already!!

I have a nice glass of vino to drink too but i really really fancy a hot choc with mini marshmallows in the top. Mmmmmmm..... Maybe i'll have one tomoz once i've gone to Asda. I could sit there with Stenders on drinking it. Yummy!

Choc - chocolate caramel shortbread and chocolate brownies sound luuuuuush!!!

silkcushion · 03/11/2007 21:37

I'm still here and no baby the funny sensations and pains continue.

Have spent most of the day in bed being a miserable fecker. Have watched strictly come dancing though which cheered me up. Have eaten too much for tea and now have indigestion and feel stuffed.

No piles yet but I'm told they frequently occur post delivery after all that straining. So we might be joining you yet Jarm .

I'm Welsh and I have no idea how to pronounce Swyn's middle name.

Enjoy all the chocolatey things girls!

FCH · 03/11/2007 21:57

Evening all - just checking in for developments and to protest at all this queue jumping going on Surely it's my turn??

No piles here yet but I did have to get DH to cut my toe nails as I can't bend down that far any more... I'm looking on it as practice for all the undignified help that will be required post birth...

Anyone else think it is a little suspicious we haven't seen Choudru around today???

revelyell · 03/11/2007 22:23

ohhhh good luck ELB glad to be back in the fold ladies, especially when its getting all exciting! got my first 'practice contractions' this week, so late in the game, i get a bit 'arrgh! is it coming?!' when that happens. however, i measured small for dates for the first time at my antenatal app on friday, and have a scan on tues, so from that angle i feel further away than ever.... very all over the place

fiona76- please share your active birthing lessons- i am thinking that moving about is gonna be the way to go...

Easywriter · 04/11/2007 06:04

Hi ladies! I planned to read/post but got as far as Pixiefish's new babe and have had to stop!

She's gorgeous and what a lovely name.
Congratulations to you and your family Pixie.

Pixiefish · 04/11/2007 07:32

it's a long e- it's the welsh jane you see.

have had night from hell. she didn't go to sleep till 5am and then wokee at 6.30.

have posted about it in the feeding forum if anyone has any advice for me

JARM · 04/11/2007 07:34

Morning all!

Not much going on in my world today! Am off to car boot sale this morning (im addicted i swear!) and then its over to my dads for sunday morning cuppa and chat - even though he was here from friday night until last night!

Just waiting for the girls to finish their breakfast then we can all get dressed and ready - baths and showers always wait on a sunday until we are back from the boot sale! (we arent that smelly!!)

Bump is feeling quite sensitive today - not sure why, may have something to do with the sweeping and strimming in the garden yesterday!

Hope you all have a good day - and where is Choudru?! These mummies are popping babies im sure of it!

Im going to sit and cry in the corner because I want to be a mummy again!!! (AND NOW NOT IN 3 WEEKS TIME!)

iris66 · 04/11/2007 08:39

Oooh another baby on the way! Good Luck ELB!!!

JARM - sorry to hear about the piles. DH gets them but so far I've been spared [verythankfulemoticon]

Just a quick thought for anyone planning to use magic pants/girdle. I thought I was going to deliver my womb/bladder the other day after overdoing cleaning/rushing round and it occurred to me that I'd not really been too vigilant with the old pelvic floor exercises and, what with the extra pressure from the magic pants, everything was making a bid for freedom through the easiest way out. Spent a morning in bed (without magic pants)and have been flexing like mad since and everything seems to have returned to normal (thankfully). Sorry if TMI but thought I ought to warn you!

JARM · 04/11/2007 12:07

I must be the only pg woman to have piles then

Will say, after 2 applications ofthe cream, they are a lot better so fingers crossed they will be gone by labour hahahaha

Got a couple of bargains at the bootsale, all housey boring stuff that I just had to have!

Nice chat and cuppa at my dads and now home for lunch and to get dinner prepared for tonight - roast chicken again.... I think im going to turn into a chicken at this rate, but its the only thing i fancy.... not quite southern fried chicken dippers, but close enough - DH has promised dippers on wednesday for tea!

Got loads of decorating to do, so may have ago at that this afternoon, if not definately tonight once the girls are in bed. Due to DH knackering his knee we couldnt get much done this week but he is on the mend, and im getting sudden bursts of energy followed by slumps so may as well take advantage! (and Dulux Willow Tree paint looks divine in my hallway!)

Pixie - hope you are doing ok sweetie, lots of skin to skin (not that i have ANY idea about BF!) according to the books i keep reading - currently on "So THATS what they are for" its very american but so lighthearted that it doesnt feel like im having facts and figures shoved down my neck like i did with the NCT Breastfeeding For Beginners

Right, have waffles enough... WHERE IS EVERYONE?!

Take care xxxx

mrsjetson · 04/11/2007 12:42

Maybe this new way of displaying the board is an attempt to get us to live a bit in reality??? I can't bloody work it out for toffee!

I AM SO BORED - I want something to do - oh I know HAVE A BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really cannot watch anymore baby programmes (you know the ones that are shown between 2 - 5am!!)

I still have 3 days to go but feel like I should be in hospital now .....

Congrats to Anna and Pixie ...xxxx

Silk - maybe I shall have to start asking for SILK sheets in the hospital to see if you are there!!!!!

I have eaten 2 pineapples today and am on my 4th cup of RL tea - I refuse to have sex!

Look after yourselves xx

Hi!!
The active birthing class was brilliant. The woman who ran it is my Yoga teacher and she works as a Doula as well has had 3 DC herself but not midwife or anything.
Anyway it was 4 hours about 8 couples and we went through stages of labour and for each stage we got into positions, practiced massages and breathing to help. The room was set up with birthing balls and bean bags and cushions. It was great. We did relaxation all cuddled up with DH. He found it much more helpful than other antenatal classes because of the practical element.

We were so loved up and in harmony afterwards so went out for dinner and talked about the birth and what we both want. Want I want him to say to me if I feel like giving up. And we bought a birthing ball now just need a pump so I can do some serious bouncing and get this baby moving. I have been having lots of period pain things but it amounts to nothing so not getting to excited.

Chocolate- I found the hospital very clinical and there is a big bath but you aren't allowed to give birth in it- you can labour in there. The toilets and bathrooms are all across the hallway. I wish I had enough confidence to stay at home but my brother lives with me so thats not really appropriate either. They have a MWL unit but it isn't opened yet should be soon but not in time for me.
I'm still being positive about it- I'll stay at home for as long as poss and take in birthing ball and use bath at hospital and it will be fine but it was a bit of a shock to see it. I'm going to be fine though

biffabangsorangesparklecentres · 04/11/2007 13:25

RG - I had to crash just to say what a fab thread name, made me really chuckle,

I'm lurking anyway to spy on my dsis. She's wubbish at posting though. Pah anyone would think she had a Rlife.... Unlike her sister.

muckers · 04/11/2007 14:25

Afternoon!!

I see my dsis is lurking/spying on me........

She is right though, I am wubbish at posting, I too am bored, bored, bored. Haven't eaten any pineapple or drunk raspberry tea and it would be a miracle if I managed to get any sex from DP. So I'm stuck with normal tea and mini Aero bars left from the miserable trick or treaters that never knocked on my door after I went out especially and spent money on choc and sweets. There now in my hospital bag or in my ever growing tummy.

Jarm - dont dispair, I too woke up with a few grapes hanging yesterday, straight off to the chemist for some of that anushole cream.

After the ECV on Friday, I thought that would be my lot but oh no!!!.

FCH · 04/11/2007 15:59

Well Muckers - if it makes you feel any better I have given up on pineapple RL tea and sex as none of them achieved anything (except putting a smile on DH's face, which I suppose is something...)

Come on baby!!

silkcushion · 04/11/2007 16:45

Just posting to say I too am bored fecking rigid.

Mrs J how will I recognise you? I'll be easy to spot - the one who looks completely clueless!

Iris thanks for the dire warning about the pants - mine arrived yesterday. I hadn't considered the fact that my insides might try to escape back out am tightening my pelvic floors as I type.

Think maybe I'll go and start cooking dinner. Lamb for a change tonight, it has been chicken for weeks and DH was getting bored.

Silver lining - cos i've not had baby yet I get to go to my 2nd free hypnobirthing class tomorrow. I am meant to have practised my relaxation techniques - oops I haven't had time - have been too busy kicking my feet and moaning about not going into labour

littleoldme · 04/11/2007 18:15

Greetings girls. Thought I'd have loads to catch up on but seems to have been very quiet the last couple of days.

Good luck ELB

Jarm - Piles sound like a pita ( see what i did there ) I have escaped so far but my sister had them and DH gets them if he drinks too much red wine So you are noe alone.

Silk - You must be getting sooo frustrated. Let me know how the hypno birthing goes. People I know who've used it swear by it.

Iris - Thanks for the pants advice.I hadn't thought of that.

Fiona - Your active birth session sounds excellent. It's a shame the hospital isn't as you would like but it sounds like you are being dead positive about it. Remember that if you feel it is the best place for you now, when the time comes you will probably be relieved to be there.

Pixie - Lots of love sweetie. Being a first time mum to be myself I have no advice but hope you have a better night tonight.

Well I had to go to the hosp AGAIN yesterday as I had some bleeding. Not much but because I'm O neg I had to go and get an anti D. I also had to have an internal . I didn't really mind but when the doctor turned up she was only 12 I think I must be getting old.

Anyway turns out I have some slight cervical abrasion. I asked about having naughtiness and she said that I could but would probably bleed again and then I'd have to go in for monitoring, exam and jab again. Most distressing but DH is def on stop! No booze, no soft cheese and now no sex. I never knew having kids would require such sacrifice

JARM · 04/11/2007 18:16

BORED BORED BORED

FED UP FED UP FED UP

And WHY oh WHY is this thread suddenly so quiet?! Where are all my gas-bags?!

Cant face eating today, which is really annoying me - so far I have has 2x salt and vinegar crisps, 1 butter roll and a few mouthfuls of a lovely roast chicken dinner that I just couldnt face. I need all the energy I can get, but food just makes me want to puke! ARGHHHHHHHHHH

Piles are loads better, will get DH to put more cream on tonight, but I dont feel like I have things "bulging" out of my bum anymore!

DH wants a bit of you know what tonight, not sure Im up to it, but hey, you never know - if I have some RLT before hand it could kick things off - hahahahaha [insert manic laugh here as I will still be waiting in december]

RGP - very quiet - where are you?
Choudru - where are you?
Lady - where are you?

Im getting all impatient - someone post me some baby pics to look at!

thelady · 04/11/2007 18:23

Hello Jarm!

I'm trying to pack for the holiday. As this involves packing my hospital bag, I'm doing it by stages as tbh that makes the whole thing just a leeetle too close for comfort .

Does anyone else have stretchmarks that hurt? There's a new one forming just next to my bellybutton, and I can actually feel it tearing if I sit/lie/move the wrong way. owowowowowow. Very like a papercut

I'm fed up of being sore/swollen/sleepless/stupid, but can't seem to get folk to realise that this doesn't mean that I want the baby out now. It's not going to get any easier on 4h sleep a night!

ChocolateHobnob · 04/11/2007 18:26

Hi all

Joining the bored and impatient club!!!

JARM, Silk, I'm with you - no piles (yet) but plenty of other things to moan about.

LOM - poor you! I'm O negative too. Do you know how soon after the lo is born we get the injection? I'm hazy on that. I've had one jab already ages ago and as I recall they tested my antibodies first...
Bedroom action is a bit overrated when you reach our stage of pregnancy IMO. I'm trying it anyway - to induce the lo out! - but it's not very convincing to be honest.

I'm now 40+4 and really thinking it's not going to happen! I'm doing my best to distract myself but am {envy] of people having babies already.

Choudru - MUST be in labour. Sending positive labour vibes to everyone!

FCH · 04/11/2007 18:35

Choc - glad to see you are still here keeping me company in the overdue and grumpy corner...

I read a very distressing statistic this morning that the average first baby is 8 days late. At that rate I will be waiting until next Friday grrrrrr
