That's really useful, thanks, loopy. Here's to being one of the 86% who go into labour spontaneously within 24 hours of waters breaking!

RGPargy · 22/11/2007 11:33

Sarah - does your mw always come to you? I think i could handle that! My snooze was quite refreshing, if not a little uncomfortable. I dont think our sofa is the most comfyest to crash out on.

I quite like the sound of xmas shopping as it goes. It would certainly take my mind off the LO making an appearance (or NOT as the case may be).

I agree with Jarm re the PJ question. If it happens in the middle of the night, stick some trackies on.

Cape - 8 different midwives? Blimey, that must be unnerving to have to be constantly telling the MW what is what. I am so lucky in that i've had the same MW all the way through with the exception of twice when i saw another MW coz my regular mw was on holiday.

I deffo need to go clothes shopping too. I've asked for clothes vouchers or money to go shopping for my Xmas pressie. I'm sick of wearing the same pg tops now. Most of the time tho i dress like Waynetta Slob in my trackies and baggy jumper because of comfort. I do try and make a bit of an effort (only slightly) if i have to leave the house lol. What a sight i must be!!

Jarm - glad you slept a bit better last night. Some good zeddage always makes you feel more human doesn't it. I think forgetting about the LO will maybe be a good thing. I should take a leaf out of your book and do the same. Think i'll sort out our PC today to take my mind off the baby. She is banned from coming today anyway as DP is working in London and it will be a complete pain for him to come home in an emergency!

LOM - lol @ your poor DH. The bumps never perform on cue do they?!!

Loopy - What a bummer re your flat tyre!! I would have done the same tho, despite being able to change a tyre too. Hope all is ok now.

Mini - ooooooooooooooo how exciting!!! Please keep us posted!!! Yay!!!

ooooh how exciting mini - keep us posted!

Have done a little more decorating this morning and then went for a nap as have stinking headache, havent had a headache for weeks but this one hurts

Also having more bouts of "digestive discomfort" really wish i knew what was setting it off!

DH has just gone to the Citizens Advice Office about his DLA claim, as they have turned him down again, DD1 is at nursery and DD2 is asleep on the sofa, so its me, the laptop and clock watching for the Asda delivery man! (God ive got lazy!)

Re home MW appointments, back in Colchester, all my ante-natals were done at home, and always had a 2 hour time slot. It was great, no having to heave kids out the door, or make sure someone could watch them. I do miss that about Colchester (as well as my lovely midwife of course)

Right, thats enough about babies for me - am off to try and do something NOT baby related!!!

Jarm - hope you've got over your headache now. I've not had one since the days of very early pg and i found that drinking plenty of water really helped to ease them. Are you drinking enough? Sorry about yet more digestive discomfort in the November camp! Hope DH gets his DLA sorted too. It's so annoying isn't it. Bloody government is a PITA!!!

mini - I think a little nipple stimulation would help get things going, if it doesn't show signs of kicking off today. I will be racing you to delivery, I hope.

JARM -- I have a bit of a headache, too. Could it be a sign that things are happening?

I am not a huge nut about astrology, but I know lots of people who really believe in it, and some of that has rubbed off on me. I get along quite easily with most Sagitarius people I've met over the years, but Scorpios are much trickier. I am glad that LO has held out to be on the Sag side of the cusp. Is that completely silly?

I'm hoping for today, maybe tomorrow. We'll see.

JARM · 22/11/2007 15:10

Loopy - DH is ex-army, he was medically discharged in August so we are now civvy people!!!

Headache is easing - with the help of Asda chocolate brownie bites

CAB office were really helpful for DH, he is just waiting for them to send out some paperwork and we can take the bastards to tribunal!

Just trying to decide what to do when girls are in bed tonight.... more decorating or bath, bed and book?! hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

RGPargy · 22/11/2007 15:16

aiki - re star signs. It's not silly at all!!! I'm soooo glad that this LO is holding out to be a sag too. I do not get on with scorpios AT ALL (deffo not men anyway!) and was dreading her being a scorpio, should she come early. I'm glad she's not a scorpio!

Jarm - Glad you are making progress with the DLA. I think i would go for the bath & bed!! Sod the decorating!!

nah, we are taking the Disability Living Allowance people to tribunal, they are so shite! They have refused DH DLA twice on the basis of one medical report, havent even bothered to get reports from DH's social worker, specialist or phsyciatrist!

oh yes, of course i will be jumping DH.... no question.... have refrained all day as DONT want this baby this side of midnight (Aunts birthday today and ill never hear the end of it!)

I hadnt even thought about star signs for this baby! Im a Leo, DH is Libra, DD1 made Leo by 2hrs and 45mins and DD2 is whatever the 25th October is!!! See, im useless!

RGPargy · 22/11/2007 15:42

Jarm - DD2 is a scorpio!!!!

Hiya everyone! i think im gonna have to get a notebook for when i come on here coz ive just read it all since i posted and had loads of questions/things to say to what had been written and will prob forget it all now!!

mini- that is so exciting im really jealous! keep us posted on how it goes! am keepin fingers crossed baby makes an appearance before they try inducing!

RG- im the same, i had a big cleaning spree but purely out of guilt that i do nothing all day whilst hes working!(got him to do all the dishes this morn tho, lol- he did promise!)

oh and im 21 (22 soon argh!), in Liverpool, and this is first baby, a little girl (im not patient enough to keep that as a suprise!). planning to have baby in hospital with dh next to me(only person i trust to still like me after the experience!) and will see how i get on but may have epidural if i cant cope (im very bad with pain am a proper weakling!). oh and have a Samoyed dog too whos 10 months old and is my other little baby! have had a couple of 4d scans(bled a lot early on so wanted reassurance) and she is the double of my neice who was the double of me! cant wait to see if she is when she comes out! my dh (i take it that means partner/ hubby?!) has dark hair etc and im blonde, so am hoping he hasnt contributed to killing off the blonde gene (only 50 yrs left in it isnt there!?)! also am scared shell have loads of hair as he is quite hairy if she follows him! i had a dream she had a big mullet of his hair and i was telling the mw i hadnt given birth so she coudnt be mine (!).

capecodder- it sounds like you might be moving in the right direction at least! i havent even had a single BH throughout this pregnancy! this makes me thing that every little twinge i get is a contraction lol. i think youl beat me by the sound of it anyway! everyone has been ringing today saying "its today isnt it?" im like no tomorrow!! feel like they know something i dont!

actually managed a good sleep last night for first time ever, and slept in too, so mayb body is gettin ready ?? my hairdresser said the day before she went into labour she slept all day and felt really calm. i do feel more calm since last night and reading these posts seeing everyone is the same, so am more ready for her now- had been feeling so anxious until last night for some reason!

trying some pineapple tonight so maybe that (and pinning dh down! not that he complains lol, but so much for the MW saying that couples with regular s** life never go overdue!!) will start things off! am not brave enough for the castor oil sounds horrible! i too havent stpped eating last 2 days!

none of my friends have had children yet depsite most of them being older than me (tho ive sparked my best friend to decide they are having one next year!)so this forums really good to see your all feeling as frustrated as me!!

rachee- know what you mean about sleeping- part from last night ive been waking up in the middle of the night and not dropping off again for hours, and same here- dh snoring doesnt help!

jarm- deffinitley bath and bed !! no question! and some more of those chocolate brownies!! x

silkcushion · 22/11/2007 15:55

ahem ......

I'm a scorpio and new babysilk is too!!!

We're lovely honestly

Sorry you lots are feeling a bit fed up. Mini - good luck and I'm sure you won't make it til friday.

I am trying to get new cute photos of Megan on profile but the pc and I are having a fight. I'll let you know when i sort it.

sam86 · 22/11/2007 16:13

sorry for the essay!

sam86 · 22/11/2007 16:17

ps (sorry last one i promise!) have put pic from 4d scan on profile, hope it works!

RGPargy · 22/11/2007 16:19

Sam - I used to be terrible trying to keep up and started to print out the posts, but i had a much better idea. What i do now if there are loads of posts is to open another browser and open the thread again. In the first browser i just type the responses to people's posts in the second browser, if that makes sense!

Oh to be 21/22 again!! I'm 39 and this is my second child. I have a DS who is 17 so there's been quite a gap since i last had a baby!! It's like doing it for the first time again. It's great!

Oh and DH means dear/darling husband and DP means dear/darling partner. At the top of the page there is a link to an acronym list, which will give you pointers as to what all the abbreviations are for. 9 times out of 10 tho people just make stuff up and you have to just guess lol.

Glad you slept well last night. I have been sleeping most of the day too and having mild BHs today so who knows!!

As for pineapples, unless you intend to eat about 7 of them (at least!) and are willing to put up with having "digestive discomfort" from eating that much, i wouldn't bother. You have to eat SHED loads of them for them to have any effect apparently. Plus pineapple is the food of the devil. Yuk!! Jump on DH tho. That's always recommended!!

Silk - I'm not saying that Scorpios are bad people or anything, just that i personally dont get on with male Scorpios. I know you're lovely really!!

OP posts:
JARM · 22/11/2007 16:19

sam - she is lovely! I have a 4D pic on my profile too, never bothered finding out the sex with the girls, but wanted to this time, and I GOT MY BOY! His was done at 23+5wks

RGPargy · 22/11/2007 16:20

awww scan's lovely!!!

OP posts:
JARM · 22/11/2007 16:21

RGP - BH's here for the last hour too.... bloody uncomfortable too.

Second the pineapple thing - yuk and you need so much of it for it to have an effect.... sex and nipple stimulation are the only "proven" methods according to my MW yesterday.... the semen has the prostaglandin in that ripens the cervix!

sam86 · 22/11/2007 16:30

thanx! everyone keeps saying it looks like thers another baby hugging her but definitley only one!

jarm- ur pics are all lovely! cant wait to update mine with proper pics too!was there any differences between this preg and the others with this one being a boy? id love a boy next!!

rgpargy- thanx il have to have a look at the list coz av been trying to work out all the abbreviations!! and i think i will do the second browser next time theres loads of posts as it gets hard to remember (espesh with scatty pg brain lol!). pineapple is disgusting il give you that! bought a fruit cocktail and pineapple chunks and will have with ice cream to make it nicer tho! (but deffo not having 7 of them!!!) i dont feel like shes gonna come anytime this year at this rate anyway! im gettin BH envy!! your all having them!! ! do you know what your having this time? bet itll all come flooding back to you when baby is here and you'll be a pro right from the start! (need you here il prob get everything wrong tho ive practically read a library full of books/mags!)x

sam86 · 22/11/2007 16:31

jarm- i best not let my DP (see gettin the hang of this abbreviation lark!!lol) read this forum then or i wont get a moments peace!!! x

JARM · 22/11/2007 16:33

Sam - yep, pregnancy has been totally different this time. Wasnt all that sick with the girls, but was throwing up for MONTHS with this little blighter! Im also carrying him a lot differently, for the first time in 3 pregnancies, I actually have a baby bump rather than "fat" looking. Im all out front, where as with the girls I was very rounded!

WOuldnt say I have enjoyed this pregnancy any more than the last 2, but it has been the easier of the 3, especially as I had my appendix out when 18 weeks pregnant with DD2!

sarahloumadam · 22/11/2007 16:37

Well my mw recommended pineapple today so I said - don't you have to eat loads for it to work - and she said not . Wanted to say - isn't oral sex more effective - but she looked v.respectable and I remembered in the nick of time that i wasn't on mumsnet!

LOL Jarm re not wanting to pop on your Aunt's bday - I am keeping my legs clamped shut tomorrow as is my FIL's bday and he is a royal PITA. Really hoping for Saturday now as it will get me out of boring family meal (in-laws). Not usually so anti-social but next time i go out I want to be wearing a sparkly top, some killers heels and drinking copious amounts of vodka. Sigh - that may have to wait if I manage to breast-feed!

Went for long walk around town and got some xmas shopping done. Got a thing about mince pies at the mo (no idea why, don't usually float my boat). Chippy tea tonight!
