omg that must have been horrible! would definitley take morning sickness over that! know wht you mean about "fat" looking, i seemed to just look and feel fat until a month or so ago, was 5months preg on hol in egypt (far too hot to go to when preg! dont know what i was thinkin!)and i swear everyone just thought id had too much chocolate when they saw me in my bikini!! your little girls' are lovely! theyll make sure he treats women well!! x

RGPargy · 22/11/2007 17:15

Sam - i wouldn't worry about not getting BHs - i dont remember getting them at all with DS!! I'm having a girl this time, so it's deffo all new to me and DP as it's his first child and my first girl so we're both kinda new to it this time around. We're both really excited!

I also know what you mean about the fat look too. I'm a porker pre-pg anyway so it has taken quite a while to show this time around lol. I'm sure from the front i dont look pg - just fatter!!

Jarm - it's funny you saying about how different this pg was to your DDs. When i was pg with DS, although it was years and years ago, i do remember being totally wiped out. I was just sooooo tired with him all the time but this time around i've had alot more energy!

Sarah - even if my MW recommended pineapple there's no way i'd eat even a single chunk. I cant stand the stuff and would rather go 2 weeks over than eat that yukky puke-food!!! I think you can drink a small amount of alcohol when your BFing, although obviously the idea is to get wasted in heels and a sparkly top. I would love to join you on that one too - i cannot wait to get w@nkered!!

RG - i have heard that if you don't like pineapple then donuts are a good substitute . What the hell, you may as well be over-due and happy .

RGPargy · 22/11/2007 17:22

Donuts it is then!

Well saw MW today and the baby is fully engaged and ready to go. YAY

Oh and I just got a text from Choudru. She's doesn't have net access at the mo so wanted updating.

JARM - Best of british with the DLA. I know what a pita these things can be.

Sam glad you are getting the hang of the acronyms. took me ages to figure it out. I always flip the thread then click add message. that way you donlt have to keep going to the top of the page to see what is happening. If you go to customise talk board at the top of page and set it MN classic life is much simpler.

sarah - I didn't ask the same question at an NCT meeting for the same reason

Still feeling sooo pukey. Not chicking up but it is that definate morning sickness feeling again LO can stay in as long as he needs too; I just wish I didn't feel like luke warm poo.

Minicooper · 22/11/2007 17:29

Hi, girls, still at home, pains coming quite frequently now, but still able to move around, talk etc so don't know that they're 'proper' contractions yet? Strong enough to make me breathe through, but they were like this during the night, then tailed off for 12 hours. Hope this is the real thing... Feels like very intense period pains in the lower abdomen and fanjo. Sound about right?

littleoldme · 22/11/2007 17:30

I feel so sick I can't even bear the thought of donuts Think it's back to plain pasta and philedelpia.

I've organised a meal with some freinds next Thurs. Hope I don't make it

sarahloumadam · 22/11/2007 17:40

Just been v.anal and worked out that of the mums who have given birth on this thread so far; 9 gave birth early, 2 were bang on and 8 were late! Mums were between 1 and 13 days late but the average is 6 days. I could manage 6 days over-due! Really, really must go and get a life now. Not missing work but something tells me that my brain-cells are not being stretched at the mo!

Sorry you feeling so poo LOM, hope the plain pasta does the trick.

Good luck Mini - can't help you sorry as is my first but sounds good to me.

JARM · 22/11/2007 17:50

sarah - you really must be bored!!

mini - sounds good so far, just make sure you rest when you can, because it could take a while. I was straight into 1min contractions 30 secs apart with DD2 and it didnt stop until i had her - even the MW's didnt believe I was in proper labour!

I am so so so so tired this time around, had loads more energy with the girls! Think boys must think "lets be mean to mummy in utero and then suck up like crazy afterwards" because the girls just cause me grief now!

I just dont have any tolerance levels at all at the moment, cant bear any form of screaming/shouting or tantruming and am slowly going crazy.

Just finished tea, so girls will be going in the bath in a minute - another 20 mins in bed for me while that happens! Headache is back, feel sick, BH's (i assume they are BH's anyway - never had them before!) hurting and I just wanna curl up in bed and sleep.

I am refusing to go overdue - well, no more than 3 days anyway - if this boy stays in longer than DD2 I think I will take a crochet hook to my fanjo to break my own waters!

RGPargy · 22/11/2007 17:54

LOM - yay re baby being engaged!! It's all just a matter of time now then, eh?! Send Choudru my best! It's odd not having her on this thread!

I also agree very much re the MN classic and flipping the thread thing. The new lay out was a bit of a challenge even for a net addict like me!

Hope your sickness subsides just a little. You've got to at least feel a bit better for cake!!!!!

Mini - cant comment as i cant remember what early labour was like, but it does sound promising!! Yay!!!

Sarah - I know what you mean about braincells not being stretched. Mine haven't been stretched since i started my new job back in October 06!! I could manage 6 days over too but i'm sincerely hoping that i'll be sniffing and stalking my own baby in the next few days.

OP posts:
RGPargy · 22/11/2007 17:55

JARM!!!!!!!! PMSL @ crochet hook!!!

OP posts:
JARM · 22/11/2007 17:59

I so would as well RGP!

littleoldme · 22/11/2007 18:08

Right - am V bemused. My Lo has quietend down quite a lot. I asked my MW about it and she said that if you are still getting lots of movements together that's good. If there is just the odd one here and there then that is cause for concern if it's a change in normal movement. She said the idea that they quieten down towards the end of pg is an old wives tale.

So

RGPargy · 22/11/2007 18:13

LOM - my mw told me that 10 movements of ANY kind were fine! I'd go with what your hospital said as they sound more realistic!!

OP posts:
littleoldme · 22/11/2007 18:18

Cheers RG - That's what I thought anyway so the MW rather alarmed me this morning.

Right off the attempt washing up. Ho hum

JARM · 22/11/2007 19:15

I was told by my MW yesterday that 7 movements before 7pm was considered ok. I too asked her about movements because baby has slowed down a lot.

Also said that if concerned by about 3pm, to grab an ice cold drink and sit on sofa and drink it - the cold should make baby move, or alternatively a nice warm bath.

I was also told that tightening a dressing gown belt around your bump (not too tight!) is similar to the sensation of being put on the monitors at the hospital and because babies dont like to feel restricted, they often start moving then too.

I am feeling oh so rough after my tea, have tried to rest upstairs but DD1 isnt letting me. Ive got a feeling this weekend may be it - not sure about going swimming with the girls tomorrow now, will maybe have to give that a miss.

ok ok - i wouldnt REALLY do it, but my god its so tempting!

I HAVE PLANS TOMORROW!!! For the first time in I dont know HOW long, Im doing lunch! Meeting a mate from 2-3pm and seeing if I can hook up with a pal I havent seen for nearly 2yrs between 1 and 2pm too! They both work at the same place so should be good fun!

Im thinking a nice hour catching up with old friends is probably just what I need right now!

All quiet on here tonight - where are you all? No babies I hope!!! (ok, so I do, but i will be very !)

RGPargy · 22/11/2007 21:58

Jarm - sounds like you'll have a lovely time tomorrow! Lucky you!!

Nothing doing here. Just watching some telly and snuggling up with one of my cats and wondering why on earth he keeps on chewing my hair lol.

Had quite a few BHs this afternoon/tonight. I'm hoping it means something but hey, i'm not gonna get my hopes up (too high!).

Gonna have a lovely shower in a minute and get an "early night" with DP.

Night everyone!

OP posts:
JARM · 23/11/2007 07:19

OMG! I slept for 4 hours straight!!! 12.45am - 4.45am!!! Up to toilet and then back to bed til 6.30am! OMG!!!!

Had a hormotional moment last night on DH, got into bed and he was being so lovely, I burst into tears and told him Im a crap mother and wife and ive been such a bitch and im sorry. Even said I didnt deserve to be having another baby when Im so mean to the 2 ive already got.

Hopefully it was all just hormones and things will go back to semi-normality soon!

Hope all ok with everyone else!

capecodder · 23/11/2007 09:35

JARM- well done for getting some sleep!! You must be so pleased- fingers crossed that this pattern continues - until the baby arrives atleast.

Sarah- I was pleased to see that you tallied and averaged the babies who were born early, on time and late. It was something I thought of doing as well- so thanks for saving me the work. Are we very sad people??

I saw the midwife yesterday and I am 3/5 engaged. I know that she could be lower but I am pleased with this. If things don't progress I am booked in for a sweep on December 3rd. I would certainly like her before then but it is nice to have actual dates in place.

Had sex last night and think that maybe I lost some of my mucus plug this morning but not sure. When I went to the toilet this moring there was a mass of what looked like congealed KY jelly but not tinged with any blood. Could that be a show or part of a show or am I getting excited about nothing?? Sorry about tmi but I don't have any point of references for this sort of thing...

Yesterday DH sent me a beautiful bouquet of orchids to say that he loved me and can't wait for the baby. it made me just melt to think of how lovely and thoughtful he is. sigh.

RGPargy · 23/11/2007 09:50

Jarm - woohoo!!! Good for you!!! I was up every 3 hours for a wee last night! Still, i went off to sleep again quickly so it's not all bad.

Bless you and your hormotional moment. Dont worry, you will get back to normal soon - i promise xx

Cape - It might have just been extra discharge or left over sperm perhaps. I think (and someone else will confirm) that the mucus plus is pink tinted and quite thick??

Bless your DH - how lovely!!!

Yahoooo!! Our cheque cleared today! I might go to Asda and spend some of it. Hopefully if i push a heavy trolley round Asda it might start something off.

OP posts:
JARM · 23/11/2007 10:20

Cape - a show is usually pink tinged. I too thought I had lost some of my plug yesterday morning after "affairs" with DH the night before, but nothing else, so it cant have been as you will get more as the day goes on.

I too am booked for a sweep on the 3rd Dec if baby hasnt arrived - but am refusing to think that far ahead! I will have this baby before next wednesday!!!

RGP - woo hoo for cheque! Go spend spend spend and dont forget to check out the mini brownie bites - OMG they are SO nice! (I got a box delivered with the shopping yesterday and they have all gone )

RGPargy · 23/11/2007 10:26

Will do Jarm. They sound lush!! Enjoy your long lunches today!!

OP posts:
sam86 · 23/11/2007 10:29

morning everyone!!

am pretty jealous of you Jarm, i was up about 4 times last night and even slipped on the last two steps on one of those occasions!! sorry you didnt have such a happy night tho (i have been like that over shouting at the dog lately then feeling like the worst person ever!! ! ), hopefully once baby is out we will all be back to normal!!

been feeling the odd period type pain all night and this morn but not too bad, still no real signs so am agreeing with you on the pineapple front - was horrible too! am also starting to wonder if the bedroom antics is just a rumour started by a man to make sure there is plenty of sex in the last few weeks before the long dry spell!!

sarah- thanks from me for the tally too! when i was looking at it it felt like they all came early or on time so good to see that its pretty fairly spread actually- must just be my anger at reaching due date with not even a single twinge!

rgpargy- enjoy your shopping spree!! theyve got the cutest little xmas outfits for babies!! oh n ive sent dp out to get me some doughnuts after reading this so am blaming you all for the extra pounds haha!x
