Jarm - I think you might need to make a list! It feels horrid when you have stuff you want to do but don't have the energy to do it. Why not try a stroll ,perhaps to the shop for a wispa , and see if that wakes you up.
I must add here that I'm not dressed yet

JARM · 27/10/2007 11:43

its ok - i only got dressed half an hour ago!

Im still sat here, still not done anything but MN..... DH will be home soon.... ah well feck it - ill do it later!

thelady · 27/10/2007 11:59

JARM: I'm still not dressed! And I'm supposed to be working . And I don't have any other children to look after.

Take a break, woman, or you'll fall over!!

FCH · 27/10/2007 13:05

Hello all - who else is glad that the weekend has arrived and another week of awaiting the arrivals is over? I got all excited yesterday and cooked loads of apple crumble base (bramleys going cheap at the market ), did a huge shop at Sainsburgs and fixed DH's car (well, jump started it and moved it so I could hook it up to the charger) AND I made a load of that veggie moussaka base to add to the freezer stocks! I was knackered when DH got home, but was cheered up by being taken out for posh nosh!!

Apparently though he told some of the guys in the office he was going to take me out for dinner and 3 people asked if we were going for curry!! I haven't tried the curry thing yet but did manage to summon up some "bouncing" enthusiasm this morning. Doesn't seem to have started anything but it was a very nice start to the day!!

Easywriter · 27/10/2007 13:14

Morning!

For everyone who's not yet 37 weeks, my pregnancy yoga lady said that it's well documented that when you hit 37 weeks you begin to feel better in yourself.

I didn't hear this myslef as I missed the relevant week but was told this by another preggers friend who was there when I said I felt a lot better generally at the mo. (Obviously this could just be because I can now clean my house and my wee one has got herself into a better position!), so hang in there 37 weeks cometh!!

P.S. Bed please Ms JARM!

choudru · 27/10/2007 13:52

Afternoon ladies,

Quick question iris - which M&S girdle did you get and how much was it?

Is it just a bodyshaping girdle?

Just ordered my P&T - range up loads of local companies to see if they could match best price I have found on internet and one of them agreed! So I get internet price with the advantage of a real shop to go back to if things go wrong

Should get it in 2-4 weeks - which is cutting it a bit fine considering I'm 39+1 weeks, but I doubt I will be out strolling so soon anyway.

Will write properly later - need to go buy a couple of nursing bras - realised I really should get measured again instead of thinking I can use the ones from last pregnancy because I might need different size!

Have a lovely relaxing afternoon everyone!

LOM's list had gone a bit funny i think!

Iris - sounds like you are getting on swimmingly with Elliot. He sounds adorable. When can we have some pictures to stalk over please?!

Jarm - I'm ready too, but i DO want to wait til 37 weeks coz there's no way i'm having this one in the hospital - i've just ordered my birth pool! I know what you mean about being uncomfortable tho coz i'm at that stage too. Cant sleep unless i'm really really tired, shoes are a no-no and even putting knickers on is some challenge!! lol! Why dont you go back to bed? It's horrible when you dont feel well, so make the most of DH being a sweetie and catch up on some ZZzzzz.

Choc - Yeah i am bit bored and do miss work to a certain extent. Although TBH i would rather be bored at home than bored at work. How do you have the energy to go shopping at 39+3?!! I'm only 35+4 and am pooped!

LOM - i've not really watched X-Factor since the auditions are over. The auditions are the best and funniest bit of the show!

Lady - when is your actual due date? For some reason it's not on our list!!

FCH - lol @ bouncing enthusiasm. You sound like you've got the batch cooking bug too!

Easy - Hope the 37 week thing is correct. I want a bit more energy and enthusiasm for tidying up/cooking/generally not being a slob!

Choudru - i'm trying to find one of those body shaping girdles. Do you know how much they differ from the post natal girdles you showed us? I'm wondering if it's worth the extra money if it's actually better than a normal body shaper. You are certainly cutting it fine with the buggy!

Well last night i took the laptop to bed with a hot chocolate and a Wispa and half watched half dozed whilst watching an episode of Hustle. I felt quite sorry for DS last night tho because i was in the cupboard looking for my Wispas and i noticed there was only one there instead of two. I had a go at DS a bit saying that he must have taken it because there were two there earlier and now there was only one. Anyway after about 15 minutes of frantic searching and even emptying the cupboard out, i suddenly remembered that i'd put one of them in the fridge to get cold. Obviously i was very and apologised to DS. Ooops!

Well, it's now 2.10pm and my hair is still "a la bedtime" and although i've got dressed, i've not yet had a shower or anything.

My tummy seems to have suddenly got bigger over the last day. It's huuuuuge!!!

I'm lurching between the Nov and Dec threads because this sproglet is apparently taking after its Dad (bigbigbig) and they're making muttering noises about starting me off early.

Ugh! I'm bored!

Body shapers : Just found this on the M&S site. Click HERE

Do you think this would be any good or do you think it would be forever rolling down?!

OP posts:
Easywriter · 27/10/2007 14:41

Not quite sure about girdles etc even though I'm forever buying them but the only ones that don't roll down on me are the Spanx variety.

They are pretty hardcore though. They do the job but I'm not sure i'd like to be a new mum and wear one. They come up to underneath your ribs and have a facilty so you don't have to take them off to go to the loo. (I find this bit distressing though and always have to take them down like a normal pair of knickers.

I'm quite keen on a girdle though, I fancy looking lovely post natally.

Poor you RG (re: Wispa mystery) at least you apologised! I'm about to clear off to take my girls to see Ratatouille for my birthday outing, I WILL be buying chocolate!

JARM · 27/10/2007 15:27

Afternoon all.

Well i did go back to bed - managed to sleep too but still feel ropey I really am sick ofit now, and just want to cry because I hate feeling so ill.

Dh is upstairs putting the cot up, so thats my evening sorted - especially as Next have delivered the cot mobile this morning, so just need the rug to arrive and all is finished.

Roll on 37 weeks if it will make me feel better - i feel so bad i cant even be bothered with natural induction methods! Got my raspberry leaf tea the other day though - havent started taking it yet, but i found, although it didnt start things off with DD2, it made the labour a lot more effective and probably halfthe reason I didnt tear despite DD2 being face first!

Am now considering going back to bed with my book for a bit - god i feel so guilty but when i feel so crappy, what is the alternative - stay up and feel 10x worse by tea time!

Hope you are all having a better weekend than me, and sorry for moaning so much. Any news on any more births..... i need some more babies!!! oooooh.... and where are the pics of the new ones?!

JARM · 27/10/2007 15:28

oooooh and i bought my christmas cards the other day - will write them by the end of the week so all DH has to do when the time comes is post them!

littleoldme · 27/10/2007 15:28

Yeah , my list had gobe a bit mental. Instead of it saying , 'I was getting bored of having to scroll up to look.' It said, 'I was bored of having to Chocolatehobnob' Dunno what all that was about.

Loopy - Let me know how the sling goes. I'd like to have go at making one but don't have a clue.
Also, could you remind me what that cheap tens machine hire site was. it was you that put on wasn't it?
Oh and while I've got you here I'm a 38 G at the mo and so will need decent feeding bras - which would you suggest?
Ta I know I'm being demanding

I'm currently figuring out how to make roman blinds so I can do one for the nursery. I'm using rubbish material to do a practice one before I start on the pricey stuff.

Easy - Thanks for reminding me about Spanx. I've got some of those and I'd forgotten. My mum calls them harvest knickers, ' All is safely gathered in, free from sorrow, free from sin.'

silkcushion · 27/10/2007 16:00

Jarm - I'm right there with you on the feeling like shite thing. Sorry yr having a bad time.

Who said week 37 was the day you suddenly felt better??? Not certain I agree with that if I'm honest.

PMSL at Harvest knickers.

I have been v good today despite sleeping for only about 3 hours total last night. Have been for a nice long walk across the common with DH, then lunch at the hotel where we got married last year, followed by just over an hour in the garden pruning trees and trying out our new leaf sucky thing. So I feel justified in drinking a herbal tea, stuffing myself full of biccies and buggering about on MN for a while.

Can't wait for the highlight of my week - strictly come dancing

ChocolateHobnob · 27/10/2007 16:02

Hi all

RG, laughing so much at the idea of you accusing DS of Wispa-pilfering!!!

Loopy, I can't believe you're writing Christmas cards now. My least favourite task. I am going to use lo as an excuse to send even fewer than usual.

LOM, can't advise on nursing bras really - I am going to get one of these though www.figleaves.com/uk/product.asp?product_id=FRA-AA2033
cos they go up to bigger sizes (my back size remains small but my cup size, never small, is likely to grow and grow). So far I've bought an Emma Jane nursing bra from JL - don't want to buy too many till I know how big I'm going to be. Help - dont want to get too big.

Had a good wander round the shops, managed to buy MORE in Mamas and Papas (!) and Mothercare, plus the obligatory coffee and cookie in Starbucks, went out for lunch and have had a nap. Tonight is the X factor - I still watch it despite the auditions being over.

I seem to have a lot of energy for 39+3. I never imagined being this mobile. Trouble is I'm getting a cold and that's really annoying. I'm fighting it off madly with fruit, chocolate and magazines this afternoon!

Hope you're all feeling better Jarm, Loopy, RG...

sparklygothkat · 27/10/2007 16:12

hi all, haven't been here for a bit so thought I would update. The feeding tube was removed on tuesday as Callum was weighing 4lb 10oz. Yesterday he was weighed again and was 4lb 9oz so the feeding tube has been put back down

Yesterday I spoke to the nurse about me doing the tube and she said if I was happy to do it, she had no problems with me doing it (was taught how to with Dd2) Anyway half hour after she left Callum pulled the tube out and I had to put another one down. anyway it went down ok and is in his tummy. He is sleeping better now the tube is back (was waking every hour )

he has a hip scan next week and then a checkup with the pead. consultant in 2 weeks.

Pixiefish · 27/10/2007 16:18

I'm very stiff atm. A combination of the SPD and bump dropping I think. Have been talking to dd about me not being here and she seems to be ok with it. Have told her that I'll have to sleep in the hospital and she'll have to sleep at hoime with daddy and so far so good although I have no doubts that dh will have ructions when the time comes
