Oh I don't think you've got quite enough vests or sleepsuits LOM . How sweet of everyone! (Either that or the medics haven't actually told you that you're having triplets!

I've got one more room to blitz and then I can sort baby clothes. CAn't wait!!!

Easywriter · 26/10/2007 12:41

Mmmmm! Cocktails!!

Flounder78 · 26/10/2007 12:45

I seem to have dropped off the list. I am due 21st Nov with a surprise!!

Flounder78 · 26/10/2007 12:47

Ignore my message!! I was reading the thread upside down!! What am I like.

Last day at work today. Keep getting period pains and BH/ tightenings. I wonder!!

Can't believe it is November next week.

Easywriter · 26/10/2007 12:50

So glad you've stopped floundering about and are going on maternity leave (Sorry! It would have been rude not to).
Don't you be working too hard this afternoon lady and bring on labour. You need a few days of rest before you have your suprise!

I am beginning to get a bit impatient with the fact that my bump hasn't dropped yet. Her bum is still up under my ribcage, so I don't think I'll go into labour this weekend after all (I'd been beginning to hope she would come earlier, rather than later). Meanwhile the two nursing bras I ordered have arrived, and everything else is nearly ready to go.

I have been inspired and made a meat lasagne last night. We ate half of it already.

Aiki - it's not all bad. Crazily enough I'd kill to have pain under my rib cage from my wee one's bum, it'd make me sure she had her head over the exit (hence no cs!).

Loopy - Beware of Wilko's they seel foil trays with and without lids. I mistakenly bought a job lot of them without lids as I didn't realise.

Heavy twins .
That's gotta smart!

littleoldme · 26/10/2007 14:16

Easy - If it blummin triplets then two of them are going on e-bay

Loopy - That thought had occurred to me too. It won't matter though as my 0-3 collection isn't far behind People are sooo generous.
Bet that woman did herself a right miscief delvering those two . Ohhhh it makes yer eyes water

I made a gorgeous coffee and walnut cake yesterday. There's only a 1/4 of it left now and we've only had one vistitor. If I won't Lo to fit in those all those newborn clothes I'd better watch it.

BTW Some one has given me a play mat with an arch thing but must of the dangly toys are missing. Does anyone know where I can find the toys V cheap.

littleoldme · 26/10/2007 14:21

Must learn to proofread.

choudru · 26/10/2007 15:31

Afternoon all,

Have just returned from lunch with my antenatal group. It was lovely but DS was very demanding - was very charming half the time and very naughty the other half. Must admit I was finding it very draining to deal with him. He fell fast asleep when we got home so obviously he was tired.

LOM - if it suits you, can we do early lunch on monday - around 11:30 - so that I can get DS home in time for his afternoon nap?

How on earth are you managing to store all those clothes? If I had so many, it would all still be in a jumble because I'd be too overwhelmed to sort through it. But I guess that's where your mum comes in useful!

Rollerblading does actually sound like fun right now...

Choc and Easy - Recipe for salmon lasagna is at salmon lasagna. I haven't tried it yet but it does look scrummy.

Easy - be careful - I might take you up on that offer once I realise that I only want to go rollerblading because I know I can't.

Loopy - thanks for the colostrum info. I think I will try my pump out this weekend. IIRC, not much milk comes out the first couple of times you express anyway.

Sorry for making you feel guilty about cbeebies - your DD sounds like she's quite independent and happy to absorb what she's watching without pestering you. Some kids just want to watch undisturbed (like my nephew hates being talked to when he's watching) but I guess some want to comment on everything. I know that chatting to me while watching cbeebies is DS's way of getting my attention - because I haven't got the energy to give him attention in other ways (baking, running around in the garden, playing with toys together etc). Basically he gets my attention by chatting to me, showing me what he's made with bricks/drawn with crayons, or giving me books to read to him.

So you see, you don't have much to feel guilty about. I think feeling slightly guilty is something all mums feels pretty much most of the time. We all need big sticks to beat ourselves up with for not being quite perfect but in reality, no-one could do the job better than us!

choudru · 26/10/2007 15:37

RG - P.S. I got the foil tray idea from Littleoldme so can't take the credit for that...

£1.59 for 6 one portion sized Bacofoil ones from Tesco. Just remember to take the paper lids off and cover with foil before putting in the oven to cook.

littleoldme · 26/10/2007 16:13

Choudru - 11.30 sounds great. However, I shall look upon it more of a late breakfast than an early lunch
I'm throwing lots of labour inducing vibes down the street.
We are storing the clothes that don't fit in the nursery in what is laughingly called our spare room ie - where all the junk goes.

Oh and roller blading is great. AND we have two pairs...

LOL I took my neighbours a box of chocs and some wine round to say ta for all the baby stuff. I got presented with an unsused set new born size washable nappies and a sack of maternity clothes. I'm either going to have to build a extension or stop going visiting. Aren't people lovely.

Most people that is. Not the lads I had a polite but assertive word with about parking in parent and child spaces when you don't have kids. They made out they were going to move then when I got round the corner they didn't Am I becoming a grumpy old woman?

RGPargy · 26/10/2007 16:14

Afternoon all

Silk - good news about the monitoring! 6lb 9oz is a good size at the mo too.

Choc - Funnily enough i've started to get hungry more often again since yesterday too lol. I dont know if it has anything to do with the fact that i've just gone shopping and so have lots of nice stuff in the cupboards now! Enjoy your baby stalking this afternoon!

LOM - Think i will in future, especially when i go round to her house! 42 sleepsuits?!!! Even if baby wore one a day, by the time you got to number 42 baby will have grown out of that size!!

Flounder - come on now, keep up! I must admit the new board is a little confusing until you get used to it. Enjoy your last day at work. Join the realms of us mat leavers!

Loopy - i quite often have good intentions of doing lots of bake offs but we either eat it on the day or i just think about doing it and it goes no further. Ouch at those twins! They're HUUUUGE!!

Aiki - Sorry your bump hasn't dropped yet. HAng on in there tho!

Easy - still no luck with LO turning yet then? Have you been doing all the positions to try to get her to turn?

Choudru - It's always the way isn't it. Kids are angels every other time except when you meet someone for a coffee/lunch etc. Then they are complete tykes!!!

So when you go to cook the foil trayed goodies, can you do it from frozen or do you have to defrost first?

Well i finally got my ass into gear and went to PC World. Ended up buying a new wireless router. Installed that and got all three laptops working too. Yay!! So now i can happily lay upstairs in bed and chat on here to you girls

DP is off to work at 4pm this afternoon til god knows when so i will have to busy myself this evening. More MNing perhaps?!

LOM - being a grumpy old woman is FAB!!

RGPargy · 26/10/2007 16:24

Oh and now that I've been very good and set up the laptops and wireless, i'm DEFFO going to have one of my Wispas later!

choudru · 26/10/2007 17:28

LOM - some people are so gorgeous, they leave you stunned with their kindness. I barely know our neighbours and they have been sending me little treats for the last few weeks. I'm going to get them a lovely thank you present once LO arrives and I have my senses back.

And I'm with you on the grumpy old woman thing - how bloody annoying.

RG - well done on sorting your wireless issues out. Will think of you lounging in bed while typing away to us

And thanks for the comment on kids being tykes in company. It does make me feel better. DS is usually very good but he seems to know just when to play up. Mind you, it was partly my fault for not getting him home in time for a nap I guess.

I think the general opinion on using the frozen meals is to defrost before cooking them?

Oooh - don't forget we have an extra hour this weekend!

silkcushion · 26/10/2007 17:53

Hurrah for the extra hour!!!

I've finally done the ironing (it was 3 wash loads in the end) and watched a documentary on giant pandas whilst doing it. Think I may be a bit hormonal cos I cried at the baby pandas with no mummies (understandable), I cried at the mummy panda who was useless and had her baby taken off her (they gave her a toy panda to practise with). Then I cried at the mummy panda who was missing a paw but was still a very good and gentle mummy. What am I like????

Then I wanted to go to China and look after baby pandas. Think may be I need my baby to arrive. It was a lovely surprise to see her again in the scan this morning. She was head down in my pelvis sucking her thumb

Am copying you RG and lying in bed on the latop. Back and pelvis are a bit achy and I feel a bit knackered. Can't be bothered to cook tea but I should cos DH will be tired and coming home late after spending the morning with me in the hospital. Actually, we haven't had a takeaway this week - so maybe we should tonight.

choudru · 26/10/2007 18:21

Silk - definitely go for takeaway. I haven't done anything for dinner either - will let DH think of something today.

As for crying at Pandas - how emotional of you. You'd never catch me crying at a documentary - Hahaha - I laugh in the face of your weakness.

(Says the woman who has just shed a tear or two because Sky and Boyd left Neighbours today...)

As you can see we're aaard oop north.

RGPargy · 26/10/2007 18:28

Choudru - Oh i remember only too well with DS about how angelic he would be indoors but step one foot out of the front door and he'd turn into a right little sod! If you have to defrost the meals before cooking them, isn't it just as quick to knock up a fresh lasagne instead?

Yay for the extra hour!

Silk - 3 loads of ironing? eeewww!!! Bless you for have a grizzle at pandas. I think hormones must be raging. YOu and Choudru seem to have cried rivers today!

I've not done anything for dinner either. I dont really want a takeaway coz i'm all takeawayed-out due to overdoing them a few weeks ago lol. I'm feeling decidedly lazy, although i want to cook something all at the same time. DP is out working tonight til silly o'clock this morning so i have to think of something that will be nice for him to come home to.

I'm bored too. I think that doesn't help the laziness. Really should do something. I might get to Asda in a minute and have a potter round there for some bits and pieces. Yes, i really am that sad!

fiona76 · 26/10/2007 19:07

Hi everyone!!
I've been keeping up but had no time to post. Had friends to stay last night from NZ which was lovely haven't seen them for 4 years and they now have 2 DDs one 3.5 and the other 2. They were in NZ with gran and pop! We were treated to their photos which were lovely!!

I went to yoga today and a lady bought her 5 week old baby who was so sweet and slept while she told us about her labour which was very positive and quick so good to hear. She had her baby at the same hospital I am going to so it was good to hear positive stories.

I had to go back to classic MN format couldn't cope with the changes!!

RG- waiting for food to defrost has got to be easier than cooking from scratch!!

fiona76 · 26/10/2007 19:10

BTW I think my LO is on the way down as bump seems to have dropped and something is definately bouncing on my bladder. 37+1 today exciting!!!

Easywriter · 26/10/2007 19:15

Glad I'm not on my own in shedding a tear over the loss of Sky AND Boyd! Scak the writers, they're crazy sheisters I tell you!

Guess what?

Met the final one of the 4 MW's who will deliver me today and... ...

Marnie is LOA with an engaged head!!!!

MW reckons she could pop out but the fact that she's gotten in there suggests very strongly that despite her larking about she'll probably be in a good position for labour and delivery.

I am SOOOOOOOO happy!

Kids eh?
Eventually they do as you ask them to.

(Now stay there hon!)
