Awww lovely news @Piper1879 congrats! Glad it went well and was a positive experience😊

Emmy2020 · 29/08/2020 06:46

@Piper1879 congratulations 😊

MooseWL · 29/08/2020 06:54

@piper1879 congratulations, glad you enjoyed the birth. Kairo is gorgeous 😍😍

@shiningstarz maybe a little too chilled but I'm just like ohh it'll be fine I've got ages haha.

@flameprincess it was my decision to work to 38 weeks I could have finished earlier but I thought as I'm working from home it'd be okay, I just didn't factor in how busy work would get as we were pretty quiet the first few months of lockdown as I work in the MOJ and all the courts were shut but now it's all playing catch up plus I've had 2 new staff members in the last month which has been hard work especially as we're all working remotely! But 3 days next week and short days the week after I'll get through it then hopefully have a bit of time before the baby arrives still to chill (or more likely get organised l!!)

Lorna198 · 29/08/2020 06:55

Huge congratulations @Piper1879 hope you are feeling ok this morning!

Lorna198 · 29/08/2020 06:56

@TJ17 that’s the camera we have. Looks like a good piece of kit. Hubby is in to his tech and said that looks best so should be ok lol

MooseWL · 29/08/2020 07:07

@Lorna198 how are you doing?

OrDis · 29/08/2020 07:09

@sianyflewog we also have gone for the BT Video Baby Monitor 6000. Obviously havent used it yet but it also came highly recommended by friends.

Lilice · 29/08/2020 08:18

Congrats @Piper1879 great to hear you had a positive experience!

Roxy8203 · 29/08/2020 08:40

LatteLover12 · 29/08/2020 08:45

Congratulations @Piper1879 he's beautiful!

Hope you've managed to get some rest 😊

sianyflewog · 29/08/2020 08:49

Congratulations @Piper1879! Hope you’re both doing well ❤️

Thanks @TJ17 - I was actually looking at this same BT one as it’s really highly rated, and comes out top in loads of articles, but then reading the reviews people were talking about a glitch where the monitor doesn’t always kick in when the baby is crying. My hearing isn’t the best so it put me off a bit. In the end I went for the same Motorola video monitor we had when I had my son, as other than the battery life not being brilliant, we know it’s OK.

HugeAgeGap · 29/08/2020 09:55

Congratulations @Piper1879! He is beautiful - what a lovely moment you've captured in that photo.

annie1994 · 29/08/2020 12:59

Congratulations @Piper1879 😃

I’m getting so fed up!! Since my first sweep on Tuesday I’ve been cramping on and off and losing quite a lot of mucus but that’s as far as it has gone 😩 feeling very uncomfortable and very impatient lol... Sorry rant over!!!

MooseWL · 29/08/2020 13:14

Thought I'd got away with it but at 36+1 I've finally got some stretch marks 🤣
Also my belly button is basically flat now it's really freaking me out haha!
I've just done my first load of baby washing!

CNovittBolden · 29/08/2020 13:52

Congratulations @Piper1879 ! ❤️

Absolutely beautiful x

HugeAgeGap · 29/08/2020 14:15

@MooseWL I feel your stretch mark pain! I have them all over my body but this far none on my tummy at 38w, I think it's only a matter of time! So frustrating! I've been smothering on the bio oil morning and night! x

liquoricecravings · 29/08/2020 14:39

@MooseWL I feel your pain too. I thought I'd got away with it, but I've got a few stretch marks appearing in the centre of my bump now. Until I hit 38 weeks I was secretly pleased I'd avoided this.

CNovittBolden · 29/08/2020 16:02

I've started harvesting colostrum today to take to the hospital with me ☺️

Managed to get a syringe from each side! They would have kept going but I'm worried about causing early labour or pushing it too much so I'm taking a small break for now.

So happy that my boobies work! 😍

LatteLover12 · 29/08/2020 16:09

That's brilliant @CNovittBolden did you do anything in particular? I think if I tried I'd get absolutely nothing out of mine! I've never leaked though 🤔

CNovittBolden · 29/08/2020 16:14

@LatteLover12 I gave them a massage for a minute or two first then held the outside circle of my areola and gently squeezed. Little beads dropped onto a small spoon I held to collect it, then I sucked it into the syringe.

It took patience to wait to get enough drops but it was such a nice feeling to do it - and wasn't painful or achey at all like I thought it would be.

It's definitely worth trying - the midwife said it could take a few times to get any out.
