Congratulations @Laura1348!! So glad you're both doing well.

I've managed to get some sleep overnight but was woken up a few times with pains, they don't seem to be getting any more consistent though. I think this is a slow burner... I'm already tired and fed up Blush. I've got a consultant appointment this morning so just trying to decide whether to still go to that or not (it to discuss induction steps I think).

ShiningStarz · 27/08/2020 07:34

@Lazydaisydaydream I would go! They may check you to see if you really are starting 👍

MooseWL · 27/08/2020 08:00

@laura1348 aww well done and congratulations! ❤️

@lazydaisydream so exciting! Try and get as much r&r as you can whilst you can handle it! I'd go to your appointment too, when was your induction meant to be? Sounds like you might not be needing it 🤞🏻x

OrDis · 27/08/2020 08:01

@Laura1348 congratulations! Lovely news, glad you are both doing well!

Lilice · 27/08/2020 08:04

Amazing news @Laura1348 congratulations ! Glad all went well and you're both doing ok.
I hope things speed up for you @Lazydaisydaydream I'd go to the appointment too, with the bags in the car just in case

sianyflewog · 27/08/2020 08:16

Huge congratulations @Laura1348 - hope you had a good night! Xx

liquoricecravings · 27/08/2020 08:54

Congratulations @Laura1348! I hope you're feeling well and Sampson had a good first night x

@Lazydaisydaydream I hope the appointment goes well.

@Lorna198 that's strange that the scales didn't work properly. On the plus side, Rafe having a heavier weight will hopefully mean you can go home together a little quicker Smile

Margo34 · 27/08/2020 09:11

Congratulations @Laura1348! 💐

HugeAgeGap · 27/08/2020 09:55

Congratulations @Lorna198 he is absolutely gorgeous!

And also congratulations @Laura1348 as well!!

Sorry I'm so late and behind this thread, we just sold our house and moved into parents as we haven't found a house to buy yet, very stressful doing all this the week before my scheduled section date. So we're living in my parents lounge, no baby nursery, just a corner of a room where a Moses basket will go at some point when we can clear more boxes and make space. The rest of my belongings are in a rented shipping container - oh the timing!!!

Hope everyone else is doing ok 👍🏼

ChipsAreLife · 27/08/2020 10:03

@Laura1348 congratulations!! Hope you're feeling ok? My friend was induced Sunday night and her baby didn't come till weds morning 😱

@Lorna198 oh I said I thought he didn't look that small! Hope you're ok?

@Lazydaisydaydream oh sounds good. I'd go in still. My contractions keep coming and going. Keep getting the runs and now feel very sick. I've just started ignoring it all now as it's driving me mad googling 🤪

@HugeAgeGap oh bless you that sounds stressful. Have you found anything at all? Are you folks hands on? At least you'll get some help and hopefully some cuppas after?

I've had a rough few days with news. One was in a very nasty accident (wind related) but is ok thank god. Then my DB who has disabilities took a bad turn yesterday and is awaiting urgent surgery. My good friend goes in for cancer surgery today too. I feel really overwhelmed with it all and trying to keep calm!!!

Congratulations to @Laura1348 and @Lorna198 !!

Exciting times ahead !!

I have my c section tomorrow and I am in a state of absolute panic !! Any tips for a FTM? feeling like I don't want to do it now 🤣😫 a bit late for that I know

Piper1879 · 27/08/2020 10:07

@ChipsAreLife ahh that's all a lot , thinking of you , hopefully all will manage to turn good and you can keep calm x

OrDis · 27/08/2020 10:22

Good luck tomorrow @Piper1879! No experience but I assume it’s quite normal to be a bit panicked/nervous! I know I am!!

Hope you are ok @ChipsAreLife. Things always seem to happen at once don’t they? Hopefully it’ll be positive outcomes for your DB and your friend.

HugeAgeGap · 27/08/2020 10:25

@ChipsAreLife yes luckily parents love babies and are very hands on without taking over. I think I'm just feeling a bit down that the house move wasnt planned, so I was thinking about decorating our spare room and having everything ready for the baby and then DP decided we were moving house during lockdown very out of the blue and here we are a week before e section living out of boxes, not quite the stress free lead up to baby that I was hoping for this time around after a horrible pregnancy and few months with our son I was really wanting this to be different! Ah well, on we go!

Things also sound stressful your end, it's difficult to keep calm when everything seems to be going on at once. Just try to take it easy as you possibly can! xx

ShiningStarz · 27/08/2020 10:35

I hope you are ok @ChipsAreLife that is a lot to have on your plate right now. Sending positive vibes your way 💜

OMG to your friend that had her baby 4 days after induction!! Flip I hope that doesn't happen to me!!

@HugeAgeGap thats not ideal but Youv all got a roof over your head and that's the main thing. Baby won't know any different !! Just more people for love and cuddles. We are getting renovations a which should have completed last week but it'll not be done for baby arrival so I'm gutted but like you say it is what it is :)

@Piper1879 good luck for tomorrow!!!! I'm loving these birth announcements, it's such a lovely part of the thread!!! I can't quite believe there is a baby in my belly. It just feels like I have a round belly but I think I'm in denial. I spent years accepting I couldn't have kids after numerous failed ivf attempts so for me it doesn't seem real at all.

Lorna198 · 27/08/2020 10:37

@liquoricecravings yeah that’s been the big bonus. Looks likely I will be home this afternoon!

@ChipsAreLife yeah all good thanks. Just surprised things like that happen. Thought it would be accurate you know lol. Hope you are doing ok too!

@Piper1879 the whole thing was nothing like I’d expected even though I’ve watched vids and stuff. It took just under an hour and to be perfectly honest I can’t tell you much of what happened. An anaesthetist spoke at me, said look round, there was baby, watched hubby with him then I was taken out. Whole thing was very surreal and hubby had a very different experience lol.
My advice would be go with it, try not to have preconceptions and it will be over before you know it and your little bundle will take up the rest of your thoughts!

annie1994 · 27/08/2020 11:30

Congratulations @Laura1348 😃

@Lazydaisydaydream hope your consultant appointment goes ok, they may be able to do a sweep or something to get you well and truly on your way!

I had my first sweep on Tuesday and have been cramping on and off ever since (no particular pattern to them though), also have lost my mucous plug. I have my second sweep in an hour and really hope that’s enough🤞🏼Getting very fed up and just want to get this show on the road and meet my little man!!

ShiningStarz · 27/08/2020 11:42

@annie1994 I don't know if you did the positive birthing course. It's all about getting the oxytocin flowing! Watch comedy and feel good movies, lots of laughter etc, all supposed to help get things going. Maybe a total pile of crap that not even I will do when it's my time!! I'm watching dirty dancing tonight, it's on Comedy Central at 9pm :)

Laura1348 · 27/08/2020 13:21

Thanks everyone. Sampson and I are still
In hospital- my iron levels are too low to go home 🙈 hopefully tomorrow though.
Sampson seems happy so all is well.
Thanks again for your lovely comments.
Xx

TJ17 · 27/08/2020 14:03

Hello all

I may be a bit late to jump on the bus but thought I'd join!

Due to give birth to a baby girl on 2nd Sep (2nd child, already have DS who is nearly 3).

Not a single sign or symptoms as of yet!

Baby girl was diagnosed with a heart defect at 20 week scan so we have a difficult road ahead I'm sure but we've been told she'll hopefully be ok when born and not need any intervention 🙏🏼
She will need an operation when she's 6 months old.

Good luck everyone x

OrDis · 27/08/2020 14:12

Babys movements are so uncomfortable today. I think she might be moving down into my pelvis because i’m getting the lightening crotch and my whole back and hips ache. Ugh. I’m only 36+4. I really don’t want to do another 4+ weeks of this 😂

OrDis · 27/08/2020 14:13

Hi @TJ17! Welcome! Not long to go for you hopefully 😊

Smilymami · 27/08/2020 14:23

@Laura1348 big congratulations.
@Piper1879 good luck for tomorrow..
@ChipsAreLife sounds tough at ur end. Be strong and hang in there.. hopefully everything will work out fine for you.
@ShiningStarz you really are having a baby... I totally relate with not absolutely believing it yet.. Lol. I'm so anxious to see what my lil one will look like.. come on labourrrrr

Lilice · 27/08/2020 14:55

Good luck for tomorrow @Piper1879
@ChipsAreLife sorry to hear you're going through a tough time, hopefully things will brighten up soon.
Welcome @TJ17 and all the other moms who've recently joined.
Im finishing work tomorrow and i cannot wait 🥳 my bags are nearly ready, We just need to get the car seat in the car and the buggy out of the box. I've finally watched a few recorded antenatal class videos, but i won't have time to look into hypnobirthing again. I just keep falling asleep when i watch something about it. I told my husband he's in charge of snacks and of looking up breathing techniques. Is that a bad idea?? Is anyone practicing breathing techniques ahead of labour? @Lazydaisydaydream are you having a vbac?

Emmy2020 · 27/08/2020 14:57

@Piper1879 Good luck for tomorrow! That must be so strange when you have a c section and knowing tomorrow you’ll have a baby!!

Yesterday evening found it soo hard walking it really hurt down below, not as bad today but still hurts a bit. Off to the midwife in a few mins so will see what she says!
