@ShiningStarz I've always got nursing bras when milk has come in. I've been living in primark sport bras/crop top things and reckon they'll do me fine after! I may then buy one or two nice ones for when I'm out and about. For me the first few weeks /month I just sit on the sofa and feed. My nipples are often so sore to start I don't wear a bra just a vest and often just have my boobs out to air them. Oh the glamour!!!

I've got some lovely tracksuit bottom and harem trousers from hush that are comfy but smart enough with trainers and a jacket/ coat for school run/coffee.

@sianyflewog I've always done the same and used a vest under my normal tops. I find a lot of nursing clothes expensive and not really my style!

How's everyone doing? I'm so jealous of everyone whose not been working and resting. I'm the opposite. Yesterday afternoon was first time I had some time to chill out probably in 6 months. I just lay in bed and watched Netflix!

I'm having loads of diarrhoea and yesterday had more cramps. Feel really on edge!!!

@Laura1348 hope you're ok?

@ChipsAreLife I'v barely worn a bra since lockdown!!! I think I'll take your advice and not bother until a few weeks into feeding. I find some bras itchy and uncomfortable but like the thought of crop top style ones where my boobs actually stay in!!

Yes @Laura1348 I'v been thinking about you too, hope something started last night!!

Hope @Lorna198 little Rafe is back with you? Hope all ok😊

Haha@MooseWL I keep joking to DP that our baby is face down with a good view of my butt 🤣 I don't know what it would feel like to be engaged, however sometimes when little one moves it can feel very low and I can feel weak at the knees with the sensation down below. Will find out later today!! Good luck for your growth scan. My consultant said it's near impossible to get good view now as there are so squished up!!! Xx

ShiningStarz · 26/08/2020 08:05

@ChipsAreLife I bought those trousers in black!!! Got the reg length and sized down as that's what all the comments said!!! Free returns so all ok 🤞 thank u! The fabric looks much softer than DP ones :)

Lazydaisydaydream · 26/08/2020 08:13

@flameprincess Ooo do you already have that sainsburys nightie? It looks great but I wasn't sure if the buttons went low enough for feeding access.

ChipsAreLife · 26/08/2020 09:03

Ah brill @ShiningStarz they're a bit more expensive but they fit well and last. They also are easy to dress up for shops/coffee but you can wear around the house!

Yeah I would hold off on nursing bra, it's not really essential to start and they're expensive!

Good luck at the app!

@Lazydaisydaydream yes I already have the nighty - it's lovely and soft - the buttons are far down enough for me to breast feed and it has a slight stretch to it anyways.

Oh dear now I have read all your posts I'm online shopping! I love harem pants but my DP jokes they look like PJs - well this is the perfect excuse for me to buy more Grin

MooseWL · 26/08/2020 10:38

Those hush joggers look lovely 😍 I'm doing overtime at the weekend whilst I still can to justify buying nice clothes for me 😂
Just been for my scan and for once baby was behaving and seems to be growing fine. She showed me he is DEFINITELY a boy, she was like he's dangling his bits around haha. And showed me that he's got bits of hair on his head and big feet! It was such a nice scan!

Estimated weight was 3kg which is about 6lb 7 already crikey! She said if I go to 40 weeks I can expect an 8 - 8.5lb baby!

LatteLover12 · 26/08/2020 11:01

Ladies, I have carpets and blinds and skirting boards and now I feel like I live in a palace! 😂😂

DP will be building the cot when he's home from work. So excited!

Been to see my mw this morning and all is well. Baby on track to be a whopper at 4.5kg (9.9lb) and I'm kind of hoping I can persuade the consultant to do my section at 38+ rather than waiting another week....

Feels like it's getting very close now!

WillowT · 26/08/2020 11:02

Has everyone got their names sorted now?

If interested, ONS have just released the most popular names of 2019

Laura1348 · 26/08/2020 11:27

Hi all 12 hours of labour and still going! Thank god for epidural
Thanks for checking in

MooseWL · 26/08/2020 11:27

@willowT I think we have a name but it still feels a bit weird saying it out loud! The sonographer asked me today and she was the only person I've said it too! Need to get used to it.
Mines in the top 20. Do you have one?

WillowT · 26/08/2020 11:30

@MooseWL we have our boy and girl name picked out. Both in top 100 but not in top 20 (but boy name is in Top 50)

I think we are decided but have back up names too!

Found boys names particularly difficult!

Franny0696 · 26/08/2020 11:52

Hi all! I'm 37 + 5! Baby's head is down, back pain and lightening crotch since week 34. Bump has dropped, heartburn intense & keep being sick. I've not had any pains as such however period like cramps is all. Upset stomach for about 3 weeks...

I'm sooooo hoping she comes soon! Cannot cope much longer

moonriver32 · 26/08/2020 11:57

Thanks for the heads up on the new Ons list! Our girls name is in the top 25 which keeps making me doubt it but it's the only one we both love! And boys is in the top 100 but nearer the bottom. Naming humans is hard!

flameprincess · 26/08/2020 12:14

My boys name is a popular traditional English name but me and DP both thought of it independently so felt like it was meant to be. It's his grandads name who passed away when he was a teen and I didn't even realise when I picked it as he always referred to him as Grandpa haha.

I finish work on Friday and already planning some nice things to do with my mat leave. From googling I found out a couple of towns over from me has a JoJo Maman Bebe outlet, I wouldnt pay their prices normally but I will certainly look at the outlet stuff! Also there's a Bravissimo store - does anyone know if they are doing fittings at the moment?

flameprincess · 26/08/2020 12:15

Also welcome @Franny0696 - we all sympathise with the sickness and heartburn it's atrocious Envy

WillowT · 26/08/2020 12:17

Names are so personal aren't they! And such a big decision! We decided on names we liked regardless of the popularity (though I have always found the names list interesting)

OrDis · 26/08/2020 12:48

We’ve had a name picked out for a while. It isn't in the top 100 list, which surprises me slightly but then again I think it’s more popular in America than it is here.

liquoricecravings · 26/08/2020 13:20

@WillowT names have proven to be hard. I would spend hours when I was little writing down all the combinations of names I would use for future children and now I actually have a little one on the way it's hard to choose just one first name. I have also found boys names harder to choose.

Luckily, my husband has a similar taste in names so that's helped, although he doesn't like my favourite boy's name. We have shortlisted two names for both a girl and a boy and three of them happen to be in the top 20. The fourth is just in the top 100 for a girl.

I've been waiting for the statistics to be released so I've just had a good look at the ONS website. I find the map of the country really helpful to get a feel for how popular the names are in our area and the surrounding areas. We both have classic names that were popular choices when we were growing up so I suppose choosing a popular name doesn't bother us too much, though I find it all interesting to research.

I'm beginning to do some online clothes shopping too. I mostly wear dresses and skirts (though I'm looking forward to fitting into my jeans again - soon I hope!) but not many of my current dresses are breastfeeding friendly. I've found a few that have lower necklines or buttons on. The search continues!

@flameprincess the nightie looks lovely. I'm keeping a tab open as my size is out of stock at the moment.

@LatteLover12 how exciting! I'm sure with the cot in place it will look even better tonight! We're having some decorating done in our hallway today and I'm so pleased with the final look. It seems many of us are going to have lovely new rooms to welcome the babies home to Smile.

ShiningStarz · 26/08/2020 14:09

Your so lucky @LatteLover12!! We still
Have few things to do!!

@WillowT wev one boys name and about 3 girls names!!! We are going to wait to meet our little one before we decide on the final name.

Flip @Laura1348 🙈 thinking of u!!!

@MooseWL**@LatteLover12 our little one is 6lb 10oz and I'm 38 weeks today! The consultant says I could go anytime as baby is quite low!!

Margo34 · 26/08/2020 14:44

@ShiningStarz we're the same as you with names, have aa small shortlist and will decide when baby arrives. We really struggled to come up with our shortlist, so many names that remind me of pupils I've taught over the years 😩

Growing up I had no problem giving every single teddy a name (I can still remember them all now) but naming a human seems like a massive responsibility! 😳

ShiningStarz · 26/08/2020 14:48

Haha@Margo34 I'm so with you!! Once you tell people, there's no going back!! So much pressure!!! We really want something different but don't want the poor child to have to always spell their name /
Pronounce it properly! We just want to see our little ones face first and I'm hoping it'll all fall into place 😊

LatteLover12 · 26/08/2020 15:59

We still haven't decided on a name yet. We have a list of about 6 that we like but we can't agree a favourite. I really hope we just know when we see his little face!

People keep asking us as well but even if we had decided then we wouldn't tell people because you get all sorts of reactions whereas when you present them with an actual baby called 'x' then they tend to keep their opinions to themselves!

MooseWL · 26/08/2020 16:15

I agree @lattelover12 not telling anyone until he's here.
The whole family are all still calling him Rupert anyway 🤣 I really should never have started thay rumour.
