Margo34 · 25/08/2020 09:06

Awwww congrats @Lorna198 such a cutie!

@WillowT @ShiningStarz @ChipsAreLife I tried on my faithful bikini tops and they don't fit, not even one! 🙈 so that's out, think I might just have to resort to nursing bra in the Birthing pool 🤔🤷‍♀️..... I don't own any big t-shirts or night dresses and my vest tops don't fit either, I have nothing old ang big enough so will have to buy something otherwise I'll be starker for the whole time I'm there and I am a prude so won't do that 🙈

Have you got a link to the M&S nightdress you mentioned @ShiningStarz?
Will something like this do? It looks so uncomfy! www.boohoo.com/maternity-stripe-button-front-nightie/BZZ45295.html?color=105

Arghhh!!

WillowT · 25/08/2020 09:09

I bought a bikini top in Matalan sale in size 14, I'm usually a 10. It was £6. I bought it for the pool but not sure I'll be allowed one!!

Sara7455 · 25/08/2020 09:11

@Lorna198 congratulations! Such a cutie and sounds like he’s doing really well. Lovely name too!

ShiningStarz · 25/08/2020 09:13

Lilice · 25/08/2020 09:14

@Margo34 im thinking of wearing my sports bra if i go into the pool, or orthewise my nightie. I bought a couple of these on boohoo, they were only 6 quid at the time

To be honest i dont remember what i wore during my first labour, i remember making it to the hospital in my pyjamas lol then probably naked in the pool. Cant remember after that, maybe the hospital gown?

ChipsAreLife · 25/08/2020 09:17

@Lorna198 congrats!!! Rage is absolutely gorgeous! And he doesn't look small there I don't think? How are you feeling? Did you get any rest?

@ShiningStarz yeah I've had a lot of pressure down low. When I go to the loo I feel like baby may come out! I've been having some period cramps and back ache in the night but not in a pattern or anything so think I'm just gearing up! Yes I wouldn't wear anything nice in labour! MY pants were off towards the end, and I just had the sheet on me.

@Margo34 maybe just grab some cheap vests or a T-shirt. All the supermarkets/ shops have good sales on now! But don't worry too much, honestly in labour you're such a zone the last thing you'll worry about is being exposed!

Roxy8203 · 25/08/2020 09:30

@Lorna198 congratulations. Such a cutie

ShiningStarz · 25/08/2020 09:42

@Roxy8203 would you mind sending me the link to the YouTube video for the TENS machine?
I'm not at my own house due to renovation work and I can't even remember what it was called!! Though if better look at a video and at least try figure out how to work
It!!!

flameprincess · 25/08/2020 10:15

Congrat @Lorna198 he's absolutely beautiful Flowers Oh wow we really are going to see some babies on this thread aren't we!

I'm 36 weeks and don't know if it's early or not for baby to be engaged but scans have shown his head is firmly wedged down there in my pelvis and I'm definitely carrying different. Feels so heavy and I get period pain like feelings at night. I had some sharp ones last night was convinced I was going to go into labour but must have been Braxton Hicks.

I'm having a section but I got some comfy nighties for hospital with buttons for breastfeeding ease. One from Sainsbury's and one from M&S -

tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/Grey-Metallic-Heart-Print-Soft-Knit-Nightdress-/137287920-Grey

I'm just on the look out for casual long sleeve tops now with buttons from the neck that I can live in after I'm home so I can whip out my boob easily. Not buttoned all the way down as I hate the prospect of my tummy popping out haha. So like this: www.freemans.com/products/h.i.s-pack-of-2-fine-rib-long-sleeve-tops/_/A-549825_6

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 25/08/2020 10:15

Congratulations @Lorna198!!! Beautiful !!!

Smilymami · 25/08/2020 10:29

Congrats @Lorna198 on your beautiful child.. He is so cute and adorable. It's becoming more and more real.. how exciting.

liquoricecravings · 25/08/2020 10:30

@Lorna198 Congratulations! I'm so pleased all went well yesterday x

I've hired a TENS machine now too. As it gets closer to the due date I'm starting to think about other things I could try to stay at home a little longer. I don't want my DH to be told he has to stay outside when we arrive in the current restrictions. The thought of going in alone in labour makes me nervous.

@Margo34 I'm facing the same question. I bought a nightie but then realised there are no buttons and I want to breastfeed. It will wear well for the labour though so I've kept it. I've also bought some cheap over large strappy tops for if I have a water birth rather than a bikini top. I think I'll buy one of the button up nighties in the links below for after the birth/ using at home.

LatteLover12 · 25/08/2020 10:32

Oh @Lorna198 congratulations! He is beautiful. Hope you're feeling okay & that Rafe is back with you soon xx

LatteLover12 · 25/08/2020 10:34

@liquoricecravings I alternated between my tens machine and warm baths when I was in labour with DS1. I think I had 3 baths before I went in & when I got there I was already 5/6cm. Worth a try!

Smilymami · 25/08/2020 10:36

@flameprincess I get those period cramps and contractions quite too frequently. Its been happening for over a week now. At first I thought labour was about to happen, now I know my body is just teasing me... I wish I just knew the date I would give birth, I will be so much more relieved.

ShiningStarz · 25/08/2020 10:57

@flameprincess I just bought myself a fluffy dressing gown from M&S!! I plan to just lounge in Pj bottoms and vest tops that I can whack down when BF! Those tops look nice enough to wear with jeans!!

MooseWL · 25/08/2020 11:17

@flameprincess I bought some nice autumn dresses with button down fronts from h&m that I can wear with tights for feeding (i haven't worn jeans in so long now I imagine they'll be so uncomfortable with post pregnancy tummy!) i feel like i bought them with optimism that I may leave the house and want to get dressed whereas I'll actually just wear pyjamas all day and be whipping my boobs out in the house.
