Anybody else getting tailbone pain? I feel like I have a new ailment each day 😑 im still waiting to be seen by my physio, but not holding my breath

Emmy2020 · 20/08/2020 12:34

@MooseWL Aw they are so cute

Emmy2020 · 20/08/2020 12:35

@Lilice That’s good they let you do what you were comfortable with.

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 20/08/2020 12:39

Cute hats !!

I think we will be generally cautious with strangers, but probably less so with family. We also have a toddler in nursery so some of those efforts to be cautious will be somewhat academic with him around!!

That does sound like poss Braxton Hicks though they shouldn’t be painful so if you are in pain with it, worth calling your midwife just to check in.

Emmy2020 · 20/08/2020 12:57

@MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee Thanks will call to ask.

baggies · 20/08/2020 13:38

Hi there
I hope you don't mind me asking another question for my daughter. Her midwife has asked her to think about the vitamin K injection for her baby at birth. This wasn't a thing when I had her so can offer to advice. What are you all thinking, or have those of you who already have children did you agree to it? TIA

ShiningStarz · 20/08/2020 13:41

@MooseWL they are so lovely!!! I haven't bought any woollen yet as waiting to see if we are team pink / blue!!! I just have the white cotton ones!!

LatteLover12 · 20/08/2020 13:48

Hey @baggies they used to be given drops that you were meant to give every day for weeks on end once you got home so the jab must replace that.

I think lots of people probably gave up with it sooner than they were meant to!

Sara7455 · 20/08/2020 14:25

@baggies I consented to my little one having it, think he ended up having two vitamin K injections but I can’t remember if the second was a prematurity thing. Don’t think there was any particular reason not to give it and I don’t think a vit K deficiency is very nice so I went ahead.

Chanel05 · 20/08/2020 15:17

@Emmy2020 sounds like braxton hicks! I get it quite a lot (7 times I was woken up with it on Tuesday night!) it always feels like a period pain to me and lasts around 30 seconds to a minute.

liquoricecravings · 20/08/2020 16:12

@baggies from my understanding giving vitamin k is a fairly routine injection at birth now. You can opt for drops instead if you prefer. I've said in my birth plan for the baby to have the injection as I would prefer that to giving them drops at home.

MooseWL · 20/08/2020 16:15

@baggies the guidelines are best to be given by injection as best absorption and can prevent a rare disease. You can ask for it orally if you're not comfortable with injection but absorption isn't as good.
Side effects are bruising and discomfort as with any injections.
For me benefits outweigh that, and I will be sending baby for all other routine injections so it's a no brainer to accept for me.

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 20/08/2020 17:34

Yep said yes to the vit k last time and will do again this time. Don’t see a reason not to unless advised otherwise by the med staff (as with all vaccinations).
I’ll also jump at the chance of a BCG vaccination if offered in hospital this time around as it was in Lambeth last time couple of years ago - some trusts offer and others don’t...

MooseWL · 20/08/2020 19:29

I'm so excited to feel like I can breathe easily again. Feels like such an effort today with him all up in my ribs it's horrible!

sianyflewog · 20/08/2020 19:29

@lilice My new pain is shooting pains in my crotch 😭

ShiningStarz · 20/08/2020 19:36

I'v had the odd feeling in early morning of
Period pain but goes away pretty quick!! I haven't experienced the Braxton hicks.
I have to try and extract colostrum in my bedroom whilst the joiner is fitting the doors and skirting, oh dear!!! I have to try and pretend he's not there!!! Literally working 8-6 everyday until I'm 39 weeks 😫

Piper1879 · 20/08/2020 19:56

@MooseWL I've had him in my ribs for two days it's been awful !! Must be his long long legs.

How's everyone getting on ! The thread is a quick mover

Emmy2020 · 20/08/2020 22:03

@Chanel05Yeah that’s what it feels like. I rang midwife and she thinks that’s what it is too.
Feel like baby has her legs right in ribs too, I can’t breathe! Feels like there’s no space.
All I did today was drive to my mother in laws had a nap on her sofa and a cup of tea then went food shopping with my two daughters where they helped, got home and they unpacked everything as I was totally exhausted just from that and had over an hour nap and even when I woke up I’ve never felt so tired, legs aching etc, crazy as I haven’t hardly done anything today!

baggies · 20/08/2020 23:44

Thanks to everyone who replied re vitamin K injection. I'll pass on your comments.

Lilice · 21/08/2020 08:34

@sianyflewog sounds very ouch! Haven't had that...yet lol
I also get period pains, I need to stop sympton spotting feels like the two week wait again haha!
@Emmy2020 i know what you mean. I took my daughter out and spent the whole afternoon on my feet. When I came home I had tree trunks instead of legs and had to lie down for the rest of the day, pains everywhere and exhausted

OrDis · 21/08/2020 09:26

I’m getting on ok thanks @Piper1879. 35+5 today. Main thing is i’m just knackered and finding it very hard to concentrate. Thankfully I only have one week left in work now. Baby is totally running out of room- so uncomfortable being jabbed in the side/ribs all day. I can’t wait to be able to lie on my stomach again lol!!!

Chanel05 · 21/08/2020 10:29

@Emmy2020 I get the foot hooked under my ribs too!

Midwife said yesterday that I'm 3/5 engaged, though I know that means nothing really!! I can just feel her head pressing down on me constantly!

sianyflewog · 21/08/2020 11:28

Oh same @OrDis!

ShiningStarz · 21/08/2020 14:49

@OrDis I miss lying on my stomach too haha !!! It's going to be bliss!! I hope I remember how to haha

ShiningStarz · 21/08/2020 16:27

I still can't get through up bravissimo live chat!! I was in the queue for 50 minutes there!! Gave up!!
Anyone else tried other stores for help with nursing bra fitting? Really need to get it sorted next week and get 2 ordered, thinking a sleep one and during day one. Thanks!!
