Hi all, like Izyboy I'm going to come out as a lurker but probably an early bird too .

My eavesdropping excuse is that I didn't have any health issues and being a first timer didn't have any suggestions! I'm due mid November but have found out that the LO has growth restriction so will probably be out within two weeks It has been an emotional rollercoaster since the diagnosis a couple of weeks ago but I'm feeling a bit better about it now.

Sparkly - you have given me plenty of hope to get through the next month or so, the LO will probably go to SCBU as the estimated weight is 3.5lb at the moment. Was bf easy to get going? I've never done it before and will probably have a c/s.

Good luck to everybody else with GD, bp problems and spd, hope the news is good.

littleoldme · 11/10/2007 15:41

Sparkly - really pleased to hear that Callum is enjoying the sunshine.

Loopy - hope you found your wispas.

Pixie - Sorry you are so uncomfortable Hope scan goes well.

sparklygothkat · 11/10/2007 16:10

antelope, BF wasn't that easy tbh, as Callum was a 33 weeker and had jaundice, so he wasn't interested at the start. But once he got the hang of things he started feeding lots and then it was easy. I had a Cs with my first and I also successfully BF him. Because you baby will be small, you may it hard because their mouths are so small. Dd2 was a 3.8lber and she had a tiny mouth, and that was a bit of a problem. good luck

Will upload some more piccys later for you baby stalkers!!!

fiona76 · 11/10/2007 17:02

Hey everyone,
I had my first antenatal class today and it was brilliant. About 13 of us all lovely so hope to make some good friends over the next few weeks. DH really enjoyed it as well. The lady who ran it was cool she also does NCT courses. We will do a tour of the wards next week as well. Its all getting very real now and I can't wait. I must be full of happy hormones at the moment as I'm so positive and can't wait to meet my baby and have our little family...

On a less positive note I was woken by DH going to work at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep so feeling quite tired now. Not bad for the only moan of the day.

The other good news is our kitchen is free of power tools and basically finished. We have an estate agent round today to value the house just for interest sake after all the work and he was very impressed with all the work and valued it higher than we thought. Still not completely finished as it needs another coat of paint and lots of bits and pieces finished off but we are getting there!!!!

I nearly had a moose today and dropped a jar of coffee on the new tiles but amazingly both tile and jar survived - someone is smiling on me today.

35 weeks today so not long now. Happy happy!!!

KaylaBmummy · 11/10/2007 17:17

Hi All, Just to let you all know I have been in the hospital but am home now and hopefully on mend. Thanks again for all your kind words, I have missed MN and have rushed around to get on line and let you know whats been happening, sorry I lewft you wondering a bit, but it was all very sudden decision from midwife.

Thank God Liver test came back normal. and Urine has now settled back to normal with injections etc. Biggest scare I had was after complaining of shoulder pain on sunday it got much worse, so just thought I had a trapped nerve, but Monday night as you know and by Tuesday lunch it was unbearable and I could not breath, midwife and doc came round and rushed me in, been tested for a blood clot and ECG on heart as heart was up to 148 beats minute. Well to cut long story short did not have clot and have been diagnosed with heart condition called moderate synis Tracicardia which can be made worse or occure in pregnancy. I have always had a bit of an irregular beat and it has been know to go fast but been told many times it was nothing to worry about . Anyway had lots of injections to slow it down and feeling much better. They have let me come home till Wednesday but have to go back in for another ECG and Heart scan to monitor everything before baby. . So glad to be back home and in my own bed, Poor DH could not get off ship so has been on the end of phone worrying sick, so really feel for him this week . Will have a good read and catch up on everyones news later this evening as I have to go and have tea with my MIL as they have insisted so hope everything has been happy and ok with you all and will have a good catch up later, thanks again ladies [smiles]

littleoldme · 11/10/2007 17:41

Kayla. Poor old you. It sounds ike you've really been through it. gald to hear your on the mend though and that the ILS are pampering you.hugs

Pixiefish · 11/10/2007 17:49

Had my date to go in. Looks like I won't be having a November baby either as I'm going in on the 29th October. Unless it takes 3 days and baby hangs on till November

RGPargy · 11/10/2007 19:23

OK, here's my second attempt at posting today. I was just in the middle of telling a funny tale about a shopkeeper, a Wispa and a box of tampax when suddenly my browser just shut itself!!! How annoying!!

So anyway. From the top......

STOP!!!! CANCEL THE SEARCH PARTY!!! I AM HERE NOW!!!

I have actually had WORK to do today so haven't been able to post!

Choc - work here is pretty much like The Office. Some of the characters are classic! The girl who sits next to me once asked me where steak came from. She said she knew it was from an animal, but didn't know which one because "steak's just steak, innit". Yes, she's from Essex!

Jarm - Well done on the nursery! i bet it looks lovely!! Ours is still a building site but the plasterer is finishing off the walls/ceiling tomorrow. We'll be able to really get cracking once that's done! I can totally see your logic in getting DS to come on 27th in 2007 - that's the same day as me!

Anna - i've heard that bigger babies are easier to birth so try not to worry. I hope your friends have found somewhere to live. You must have the patience of a saint! I get grumpy if someone stays for the weekend, let alone five bloody weeks!

Iris - I cant sleep either til i at least know where he is! At the moment it's not too bad because he comes home fairly early (about 11ish at the latest). When he's old enough to go out clubbing tho, that will be a different story no doubt! Best of luck with your 25th October induction! And dont even THINK about leaving this thread! You HAVE to stay now, we've been through so much!!

LOM - haven't had much of a chance to play the game today coz of being busy () but i aim to at least get more than 1 point! Oh and that joke is TERRIBLE!!!!

Choudru - how was the MW?

Talking of Wispas (and this is where i got to last time before the browser closed), i still haven't managed to actually find any yet! I went to two newsagents today in my lunch break in search of a Wispa. In the second shop i went into, i was standing there browsing at the choccies, couldn't see any Wispas so i said "oh, dont you have any Wispas?". The guy behind the counter said "yes we do" and then pointed to the boxes of TAMPAX behind him on the shelf! I was like "erm, no...... Wispa! WISPA!!!" "Oh, Wispa BAR!" says he. "Well.... yyhhhhuh!!" says i. "oh no, we dont have any of those" says shopkeeper. I was like WTF is this guy on??!!! How can you possibly confuse Tampax for Wispas?!!! They dont even sound the same!!! PMSL!!!

Lizzie - hope you recover from your cold soon and your DH stops having midnight heart attacks!! Honestly - MEN!!

Pixie - how was your appointment. Bummer re the SPD Another october baby eh?! Good for you!! dont worry, we wont let you escape our November thread either.

Loopy - see that's the sort of birth i'm having. A calm, non-gorey, non-screamy one. i've ordered it from Ebay.

Sparkly - Oh yes, i'd forgotten about registering the birth too!! Hope he enjoyed the sunshine!

Hi antelope and welcome to the thread! do you know what sex your baby is?

Fiona - glad your antenatal class went well! So pleased you got on with everyone there. It'll really help to have a few extra friends! Brilliant that your kitchen is done almost!

Kayla - you poor thing - sounds like you're really going through the mill at the moment. hope things improve for you.

Hi all

Hmm, hard working day, eh RG? What a shock!

Kayla, it sounds like you've had a mare. Poor you. When does DH come home to pamper you?

Pixie, good you've got a date! is that for induction? why are you being induced? sorry if that's a stupid question.

Hi Antelope and sorry about the growth restriction but at least they know and are sorting it out. Hugs from here, and Sparkly will be a fantastic help!

In terms of baby size, people do say that larger babies aren't necessarily easier to deliver. And yes Loopy, scans get it wrong too. Probably it's better not to know beforehand to be honest.

I want one of those calm happy hippy waterbirths too please! where can I order one from?

So, tomorrow I go to the hospital and see what they say about lo's position! Oh and see lo too, which is kind of exciting - but yes I don't know the sex, and I don't know if it will be possible to not know after tomorrow, so we shall see!

37 weeks now... due date really isnt so far away... and had my hair cut and coloured today and feel very much more presentable.

On another note, does anyone happen to know if you can use psoriasis medicines in pregnancy? Mine has spread all over the bump and is sore as well as v ugly. I guess I need to see a doc.

Have a good evening everyone - I've had my Wispa of the day already and am craving another....

RGPargy · 11/10/2007 19:58

STOP..... TALKING..... ABOUT...... WISPAS!!!!

I cant find them anywhere!!!!!

sarahloumadam · 11/10/2007 20:13

Hello all

Can't believe all the October babies now due! I had a quick look on the Dec thread as I have a feeling that I may go over but, whilst they all seemed v.v.lovely and v.amusing it just wasn't the same - don't leave us now!

Oooh I'll order one of those calm water births too. Its not really the done thing in these parts to go to a MLU or have a water birth and people keep saying "aren't you brave!" and looking horrified but I'm really a terrible wimp who just wants to go and hide in a warm bath in a dark room when the time comes.

LOL re tampax/wispa confusion RG. Not quite the same with a cuppa but could catch on...less calories I had a look for one today but had to make do with a galaxy bar then my sample had glucose in at my midwifes apt - whoops!

Kayla - how scary, glad they have sussed out the problem and that you are feeling better already.

Fiona - reading your post made me smile, I love those happy hormones when they kick in! Unfortunately the irritable, nasty hormones have been paying me a visit this week but I must be due an upward swing soon. My poor DH is a saint.

Working from home tomorrow so will no doubt be on mnet all day!

Have a good evening x

RGPargy · 11/10/2007 20:23

I know what you mean Sarah about other threads not being the same. I spose it's coz we've all got used to each other and if you're anything like me, you will have a mental image of what people look like (unless pics are on profiles).

Honestly, it's no wonder i cant find any Wispas. Loads of poor ladies are probably going into the shop, asking for a box of Tampax and getting a Wispa! They're probably far too embarrassed to ask again!!

My family have also said the "aren't you brave" comments to me so you're not the only one!

Working from home eh? See you online tomorrow then!

KaylaBmummy · 11/10/2007 20:23

Hi All - Had a good catch up and glad to hear no major problems if you know what I mean, as even little hitches feels awful when your pregnant so dont mean to offend IYKWIM.. OMG Im so low Im paranoid of upsetting anyone .

Sorry ladies - Think I had bettr get off or ill depress everyone Dont seem to be able to stop crying and feel like most of time im il or had a problem so, so sorry to keep moaning and going on about my god awful pregnancy I know there are so many other people much worse off but just dont seem to be holding it together anymore and am trying to keep calm cos of this bloody heart. Tried to write and be bit cheery today but consultants keep moving the goal posts and im confused, worried and can only say sorry again girls for posting, DH home on Tuesday (cant get to him and cant tell teenage daughter)Just feeling really alone and so sad Made excuse to my MIL and went to bed and cried buckets. AM SO SORRY

sarahloumadam · 11/10/2007 20:33

Oh Kayla hun, don't apologise! You have had a shitty time and no DH to speak to and support you so no wonder you are feeling so down. You need lots of TLC, can you have a lovely hot bath and get all snuggled up and if you need to cry some more then just do it? Or are you worried about upsetting your DD? You can't have been sleeping very well either and that all makes everything worse I find. Hope you feel better soon.

ChocolateHobnob · 11/10/2007 21:06

Kayla, big hugs. It sounds like you're having a horrid time. Still not so long till your c-section!

Forgot to say to RG, PMSL at Tampax/Wispa mix up...

Pixiefish · 11/10/2007 21:12

chocolate hobnob- blood condition means I have to have an induction.

KaylaBmummy · 11/10/2007 21:49

Hi Ladies - sorry for my outburst. Trying to pull myself together now. Not being a drama queen (honest). Thik its the sedatives and painkillers making me really depressed and im sooo tied - sorry.

Pixifish - This is what has really upset me today. Consultants said due to heart condition and c-section op, it would be best to have induction next week and if this did not work then emergency c-section as they cant leave me, Im so up in the air and TERRIFIED of induction due to lots of scary negative stories, but they really want me to try before section and I dont like to say no . When do they want you to have yours and how do you feel about it? Do you feel more positive Pixi? Am i over reacting in what ive read ,do you think? When I read about us and RG going to deliver together and then this news it just got me upset.

Any other ladaies have any positive induction stories at 37 weeks. I feel your cervix has to be ripe and ready for any success but probably wrong. Can any of you lovely ladies advise me AGAIN

RGPargy · 11/10/2007 21:58

Kayla, please dont apologise for having a rant! If you cant have a rant here, then where CAN you have a rant? Honestly, it's what we are here for so just rant away to your heart's content.

Oh and I'm not delivering mine at the same time as you - I'm only 33 weeks! I think it's iris, you mean, isn't it?

chin up sweetie. Go have a Wispa and a cup of tea.

thelady · 11/10/2007 22:24

My doc said calcipotriol cream and capasal shampoo were fine in pregnancy. That was right from the beginning too. I think she said that if I was on one of the 'emergency' lotions that they might suggest something milder - and wrapping after the lotion was out as it increased the chance of the steroids being absorbed through the skin.

Sorry I can't be more definite - but the cream (Dovonex I think it is) was fine.

Easywriter · 11/10/2007 23:48

Kayla- I'm so sorry to hear all that you've been through.

If you want a section say so! You're not in the too posh to push league. Let them give you a good reason why you shouldn't, I suspect that ther is quite a lot of evidence to show that many inductions end as emergency CS anyway and if you're terrified of induction, well that's a bad start!

Bigs hugs to you!

AnnainNZ · 12/10/2007 01:05

Kayla, dont' apologise, everyone has crappy days! The other day I got overwhelmed by the fact our stairs are being completely rebuilt, it was meant to take a week and so far has taken 3 and still not finished. So there is plaster dust everywhere and I can't even clean it up because I'm meant to be resting as much as poss. Also we have 2 houseguests, one of whom has been here 5 weeks, both are male, single and childless and therefore dont' seem to have a clue that at 37 weeks pg I may not want them and their mess all over my house! Anyway, I ended up crying to DH that I wanted to move out of my own house cos I couldn't take it anymore! (DH has had a firm word with them now and told them they need to get their own place or find somewhere else to stay SOON!)

Talk to the hospital about a C/S, they may offer you one straight away if they see you are distressed about the thought of induction. I'm not specially keen on the idea of induction either, tho I have till 40 wks. Read up all you can about it, and about c/s, just get as much info as you can. And if you need them take all the drugs there are, that's my philosophy.

Keep letting off steam on here, that's what it's for! SOXmetimes I feel all I do is moan on MN! 'Sgreat!

AnnainNZ · 12/10/2007 01:24

Also, search for thread titles about induction on here. There ARE some positive stories, honest!
