@Piper1879 I've got 3 newborn sleep suits, pack of 5 newborn vests, 3 pairs of jogging bottoms, a cardigan, scratch mitts and a couple of hats.

I've then got quite a few bits in 0-3 and 3-6.
I'm hoping with scans closer to the time I may be able to estimate if I need more newborn.
I am by no means knowledgeable as this is my first baby!
I'm also using reusable nappies and have been told I may have to size up clothes as a result.
We'll see 🤷‍♀️
Good luck.

Laura1348 · 01/07/2020 21:39

@Sara7455 great to hear all is going well.

Lazydaisydaydream · 01/07/2020 22:06

My son was 8lbs5 but still needed tiny baby/newborn clothes to start with as he was so scrunched up. I'll be doing the same as last time and taking three different sizes to the hospital just in case haha!

ShiningStarz · 01/07/2020 22:08

Had my heart set on grey walls in nursery after seeing @emma278 gorgeous nursery.. however my partner wanted a warmer colour as we don't know the sex we have picked a warm light green 😊

WillowT · 01/07/2020 22:22

@ShiningStarz we've gone green too! (Mainly because its already that colour and means re don't need to redecorate 🤣)

Sara7455 · 01/07/2020 22:23

@Roxy8203 thanks for the boots tip! Will have to look into that

@Laura1348 @Lilice thank you 😊. Very happy mama about how well he’s doing. Also a weird insight into how babies grow when they’re still inside. At 31 weeks he’s starting to chunk up and get tiny eyelashes and it’s just the cutest thing 💕

MooseWL · 02/07/2020 07:13

I've got about 6 vests/bodysuits in newborn then gone up to 0-3. The newborn ones look so tiny and we're both tall (my partner ridiculously so!) I imagine our baby is going to be long! He'll grow into them!

I've just booked in our bathroom to be totally redone when I'm 36 weeks 😂🤔 must be mad. Must keep baby in until fully cooked 🤣

ShiningStarz · 02/07/2020 07:23

Has anyone found a nice light pramsuit that can be worn in bassinet while out on walks? I'v been looking for something that isn't going to cause over heating but something warm enough to not need a blanket x

Laura1348 · 02/07/2020 07:39

@MooseWL blimey- I was going crazy because husband is decorating spare room for next two weeks! Good luck

On another note, I was wondering what toiletries people have for newborns?
I was thinking just water for a while.

(I have stared a new thread too so sorry if you see both)
Thank you

ShiningStarz · 02/07/2020 07:42

@Laura1348 can you post link to new thread?

I read water for first few weeks and then I'v bought child's farm fragrance free shampoo and bath stuff as well as a coconut massage oil. I always wanted to sign up to baby massage as a way of meeting other mums etc.

Laura1348 · 02/07/2020 08:26

@ShiningStarz I don't know how to🙈 sorry- didn't know you could do that either.

I like the idea of baby massage too. Hoping that kind of thing runs by the time
He's here.
Thanks

MooseWL · 02/07/2020 08:26

@laura1348 I know! The other guy that we got a quote from said November. I was like no chance with a newborn want it sorted before!
My dad's coming to paint the nursery next week. Just going for white then will get colourful curtains and other bits!
I haven't even thought about toiletries but just plain water for the first couple of months!

ChipsAreLife · 02/07/2020 09:00

@WillowT snap, can't be bothered to change it lol. Ours is a similar shade @shiningstarz and is lovely. When it's all set up I'll share a pic.

@Sara7455 well done on the expressing, it's so tough. I had to it a lot as I kept heating thrush and it was a pain in the bum! When do they think Wren will be able to try latch?

@Lazydaisydaydream definitely have a chat and see what options there are for you. They said I could try VBAC but I could be induced or go over. I had baby at 40+2 because my one at 40+1 got cancelled! I'm booked in for 39+3 this time. Didn't even ask what happens if I go into labour before then as I never have before so doubt it will happen. But I keep getting braxton hicks and freaking out that I'm going to go into labour lol!

@Roxy8203 good tip on parenting club will look into that!

@MooseWL good luck! I moved 36 weeks pregnant last time and it was all fine. I just watched 🤣

@Laura1348 where is the new thread and I'll link? You get 1000 posts on one so we've got a bit more time.

Re toiletries you'll need sudocream and a nice baby wash for first baths etc. But can't think of much else, you may need cream if they get dry skin etc but I would wait till as and when that happens.

So many typos!! I meant couldn't be induced or go over!

@ChipsAreLife they said it’s about 34 weeks gestation that they can coordinate sucking, swallowing and breathing at the same time and he would have been 31+3 now so another few weeks of exclusively expressing to go and then we can start introducing bf

ShiningStarz · 02/07/2020 09:50

I'm glad green is popular @ChipsAreLife
I was thinking grey, green colour scheme! Got a company coming tomorrow to measure the window to pick a nursery roller blind. The window is almost full length but narrow so awkward to buy ready made for xx
I'm trying to get Argos grey and white stars shade but it's been sold out for ages 😢

Laura1348 · 02/07/2020 09:55

@ChipsAreLife it's under products then newborn toiletries.
Thank you

What baby wash have you got?

@MooseWL thankfully nursery done. We went for Andy's room wallpaper on top half and white paint on bottom.
Think we may be having carpets changed before she arrives too- it's all going on!

ChipsAreLife · 02/07/2020 10:25

I can't find it @Laura1348! I thought you meant another birth club thread too lol. I've always used Burtsbees on mine but there are loads to choose from!

@ShiningStarz have a look at curtains 2 go as you can get made to measure and they have lovely ones.

OP posts:
ShiningStarz · 02/07/2020 10:36

@Laura1348 what's the new thread called? I'll try and search it and then post the link

Laura1348 · 02/07/2020 11:02

@ShiningStarz it's called newborn toiletries
Thanks@ChipsAreLife - no newborn thread just toiletries advice.

I did look at a pack of burrs bees stuff as I like using it myself.

ShiningStarz · 02/07/2020 11:16

Ahh@Laura1348 I thought you meant a new thread to carry on from this one lol sorry xx I just don't want to be parted from you all!!

Laura1348 · 02/07/2020 11:30

@ShiningStarz oh - sorry. No I want to stay right here!
👍😀
Thanks

Sara7455 · 02/07/2020 13:28

@ShiningStarz John Lewis have a lovely nursery roller blind that’s like grey and white stars in the day and then at night it glows in the dark so the stars act as a nightlight. We’re having our windows changed before Wren comes home but I’ve definitely got my eye on it for after they’re done!

WillowT · 02/07/2020 14:08

@MooseWL we're also getting our bathroom done but in the next couple of weeks...they managed to squeeze us in!

I've been doing some research into changing bags and those who are mums already...do I need one or would just a normal rucksack do? All the ones I've seen are £60+. What is the additional benefit of them?! TIA

ShiningStarz · 02/07/2020 14:13

Oooh that sounds really nice Sara. Our window is so narrow and long in that room that can't get readymade. Will
Have to get it custom made. @Sara7455
