@ShiningStarz we used sleeping bags with my little boy until he was gone 2! They’re so handy, especially for wriggly babies who kick off blankets.

Roxy8203 · 30/05/2020 10:57

@sianyflewog my 25 week ended up being over the phone which was a little disappointing. I think if I'd said I wanted to see someone they would have kept my appointment but just got asked how I was doing and if I had any questions. Got my 28 a week on Monday and was told that and all others will be face to face

sianyflewog · 30/05/2020 11:01

@Roxy8203 I wasn’t even expecting an appointment as it’s a second baby (25 week used to just be for first babies), I have my consultants appointment and GTT at 27/28 weeks and was told I’d just be seen then and then my midwife rang me to make an appointment for 24 weeks. Very confused.

Roxy8203 · 30/05/2020 11:32

@sianyflewog I dunno then, seems odd when they seem to be reducing appointments to add one in for you. I always have to book my own too, they never call me

Lilice · 30/05/2020 13:00

I got a call after sending my email and they booked me in for a face to face appointment at 25 weeks. I havent seen a midwife since my booking appointment at 8 weeks.

Lilice · 30/05/2020 13:04

On Friday I got a letter for an appointment with my consultant, a week after my due date! I dont know if that's normal but I rang the receptionist and she moved it to when I'm 38 weeks. Now I think maybe the consultant wanted to see me if I were overdue

SavanahXx · 30/05/2020 14:53

Hi ladies, does anyone mind if I join? I'm due a little boy on the 9th September. I also have a DD who is 17 months old. I hope you're all enjoying your pregnancies so far! 😊😊

ShiningStarz · 30/05/2020 16:52

The Chico next to me in on offer in the lidl baby event starting on 4th june. It's £109.99

Sara7455 · 30/05/2020 17:06

@SavanahXx welcome!

@Roxy8203 I have to book my own midwife appointments as well, so odd how different things are between areas!

ShiningStarz · 30/05/2020 17:09

@SavanahXx welcome and congrats!! We have the same EDD. Mine keeps changing from 9ty to 12th though!!

SavanahXx · 30/05/2020 19:10

Thankyou for being welcoming!

@ShiningStarz mine was the same when I first found out, I had a few extra scans because of 3 previous MMC. i have extra surveillance because I've bled alot through this pregnancy and had my 25 week appointment yesterday. The midwife measured my belly to give me a piece of mind because I look huge. She had to measure me 3 times and was very shocked when she told me I'm already measuring over the 90th centile! He's going to be one big man by the sounds of it 😯😯

Piper1879 · 30/05/2020 20:20

Ladies , who's having a bedside crib vs a Moses basket?? Just measured my bed from floor to mattress top and it's tiny , it measures just 43 cm !! I'm stuck as to what to do !

Sara7455 · 30/05/2020 20:35

@Piper1879 We’ve got a snuzpod, think they’re meant to last them longer than a standard Moses basket? You can use them as standalone cribs if they don’t fit next to the bed as well

sianyflewog · 30/05/2020 22:13

@Piper1879 We have both. Last time I used the Moses basket for a few weeks, carried it up and down stairs and then we bought the next to me. This time I’ll probably leave the Moses basket downstairs, and just use the next to me upstairs - although the Moses basket seems a lot more snug for a newborn than all the space of the next to me.

ShiningStarz · 31/05/2020 06:10

@Piper1879 I ordered the snuzpod 3.
The height can be varied to suit height of your bed : height settings (31-63cm).
I also got babylo snug for downstairs but I'm not sure if I'll keep it.

MooseWL · 31/05/2020 08:36

Morning!
If anyone is thinking of doing the positive birth company digital pack there's £10 off if you order by the end of today with the code MASTERCLASS
I've just ordered it and it's the only thing I've done so far to get organised!

fin90 · 31/05/2020 08:54

@MooseWL Thanks for this :) - I’ve just ordered it! X

Lazydaisydaydream · 31/05/2020 08:59

@MooseWL I'm halfway through this course and absolutely loving it!! So interesting.

MooseWL · 31/05/2020 09:40

@lazydaisydream all the reviews look great really looking forward to starting it especially with no antenatal classes. I only have 3 close friends who've had babies and they've all described in detail to me their very traumatic experiences, so I need something to get my focus off those stories!

MooseWL · 31/05/2020 09:43

@shiningstarz just reading what I missed in the old thread as I missed a week (for some reason I stopped getting notification emails!) and you mentioned you're getting a new bathroom in July. Are you getting someone in to do it? I really need to get mine sorted, but is it okay to have tradespeople in your house now?! I guess I'm going to have to do it at some point.

ShiningStarz · 31/05/2020 10:01

Hi @MooseWL the trades people here are so hard to get now! They are obviously busy with the good weather!
I'm in Northern Ireland and we have had much less covid cases than other Uk regions however I am still nervous and isolating as much as possible.
We are aiming to have the bathroom done over a few days middle July. I think by then the rules will relax again a little. However he knows he has to wear a mask and gloves and be extra careful 👍

WillowT · 31/05/2020 10:13

@MooseWL I'm in England and we were meant to have our bathroom done next month but I've had to delay it until it's safe to stay overnight elsewhere as I'm working from home and need to loo every other minute (well not quite but feels that bad!) They are allowed back in as long all precautions are taken.

MooseWL · 31/05/2020 10:33

Thanks both! I'm the same with needing the loo all the time and working from home so will have to figure something out!
I should probably try and get something booked as I imagine everyone will be busy with a backlog and I really would like it done before the baby arrives!

ShiningStarz · 31/05/2020 11:04

We are lucky that the house we moved into had a downstairs loo and wet room so we use that to go to loo and shower in. Makes it a bit easier that neither of us need to be in the upstairs bathroom that's being re done.
I'v never had the luxury of 2 toilets before lol

Pralinehalo · 31/05/2020 11:23

@savanahXx I'm also due a boy on 9th Sept :)
