Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
WinnieThePooh · 02/10/2007 21:26

I bought a HUGE pineapple when shoping today.

Have got it all prepared and in the fridge. Will have some in a bit.

Will also try to presuade DP into having sex tonight to try and bring her on.

MrsFish · 02/10/2007 21:28

I've given up on the sex too, it hasn't worked the past week and I really can't be bothered now

greedygreedyguzzler · 02/10/2007 21:42

but mrs fish!...just think .....sex with a pineapple..............no nasty trickling down your leg afterwards !!!

sorry! not sure whats wrong with me tonight!!

KezzaG · 02/10/2007 21:45

So I decide to check in and see what is going on as I have half hour to spare and what do I see.......heavily pregnant ladies contemplating sex with pineapples!!!! Do you think there is a market for that kind of thing??

Pleased to see Alicet has had her baby, congratulations.

All still going well at this end, Leo is very relaxed and has to be woken at night to feed....a very new experience for me.

MrsFish · 02/10/2007 21:49

Sex with a pineapple..... OUCH!!!

ChocolateHobnob · 02/10/2007 22:02

Hi Kezza, glad things are going well with Leo!

The idea of sex with a pineapple made me snort my water up my nose just now!

Mrs Fish, Greedy, really hope it happens soon for you two.

Just watched Bringing Up Baby - that 1950s method seems like madness. The babies are so cute though!

ess · 03/10/2007 08:34

Morning all. Well, nothing occurring here either.
I've been emailed a voucher for 20% off all ELC toys if anyones interested. It ends today. You can use it online by quoting code THANKS, call 08705 352 352 and use same code.
DD is at childminders today so going into town to get her a present from baby and a few last minute bits- will probably be last day I get to myself for a while! Then I'm going to have quick clean through and watch "Cold Feet". I've started watching them all from the beginning.
Have a good day everyone.

J2OBABY · 03/10/2007 09:26

hi all, just a quickie got friend coming round, well i'm due today and nothing bloody happening!

lolololol at sex with a pineapple, i haven't got anyone to have it the conventional way so may have to try it!

winnie-thanks, i'll just google it, you don't need to go to no bother.

dd came in my bed last night and kept me awake for 2 hours, moaning and whining, so pretty tired today, and she keeps going on about going to the Fair on sat night with her dad.

{{stamps feet}} i wanted to go!!

anyway, catch up later, hi to everyone

Collywobbles · 03/10/2007 10:22

Hi Everyone - not sure about sex with pineapples...sounds a bit painful!

I probably won't be online for a few days after this cos I'm off to stay with my parents for a few days. Mum's having a small operation on her arm today so I said I'd go over and we can look after each other for a bit!

Good luck to everyone and their various techniques for bringing on labour...I'll be hoping mine doesn't come on at least until the weekend as my parents are an hour away and I don't want to have to go to a different hospital.

nellieloula · 03/10/2007 10:51

congratulations Alice! So pleased for you and can't wait to hear about the civilised birth......I've got my final scan and consultant's app today so will know my date. Please do pass on any good e.c tips!!

mrsfish - you're doing so well hanging on! And everyone else - hope something happens for you today, pineapple sex or not!

hope everyone else is ok - I'm fine, slightly nervous about today for some reason but looking forward to the final stretch.

have a good day everyone

WinnieThePooh · 03/10/2007 11:04

Morning everyone,

I have just got up and had a shower.

Not gor . lot planned for today.

Got midwife appointment tomorrow if I have not gone in to hospital by then.

I wonder if we will have any more births on this thread today. MrsFish? Greedy?

Have a good day everyone.

Kittiwake · 03/10/2007 12:43

Hi everyone

Congratulations to Alice and to ejt (I am slow to catch up!)

Lol at pineapple sex! I haven't tried anything to speed things up yet, just trying to take it as it comes until due date which is still 12 days away for me.
,
Good god I watched that Bringing up baby programme too last night that 1950's woman was totally bonkers. I felt that the mother of the twins was not really relishing her champagne when she went out either just putting on brave face, she loked like she wanted to run home and give her wee little babies a huge cuddle.

Wonder if anyone else will pop today!

Katsh · 03/10/2007 13:31

hi all, i gave birth to Rory John y'day morning. He weighed 7 lbs 9oz. He had some bruising and an infected rash so will be in hosp on iv antibiotics until sun. Feeding really well and sleeping. Unfortunately no other babies on ward sleep. hope all well.

WinnieThePooh · 03/10/2007 13:32

Congratulations Katsh

muppetgirl · 03/10/2007 13:52

Congratulations Katsh and Alice!!!

I am really having panic times now...!
My fingers are soo puffy and achy, I can't bend them without them huting in the mornings and if I lie down for a while. I have just woken up sweating and are really flushed -even my arms are slightly red. My feet are puffy and my face has been puffy though has gone down -anything to worry about do we think? Also are soo thirsty all the time and no matter how much I drink I don't seem to quench my thirst.

Sex witha pineapple? Got to go back and read about that!!

Didn't get a chest of drawers as the 2 that were there, 1 was to tall the other to short. I have no washing machine atm as the floors are being layed and the pesky Jack Russell (the dogs are upstairs atm as the floors are being done downstairs) weed on our duvet/bed again so we had to strip it all off last night and make it just before bed. ARRRGGHHH.

Ollie is being very cute, we were talking about his favourite film over the weekend and he said it was the magic roundabout, he then bent under the table to talk to my bump 'I tell Henry, Henry, my favourite film is the magic roundabout....' This morning he wanted to Henry a cuddle and when I bent down he said, 'no mummy, not you -Henry!'

Can't wait to meet Henry myself but really can't wait for Ollie too..

-What did you all think of Bringing up baby last night?

ess · 03/10/2007 14:12

Hi Muppetgirl- sorry you're all puffed up! My feet and hands have been bad too, it's really uncomfortable isn't it? It can be a sign of pre-eclampsia/high blood pressure so may be worth getting checked out.

unicorn · 03/10/2007 14:36

Pineapple sex?!!!!! (there is probably an internet site dedicated to it y'know, nothing surprises me anymore!)

Congrats Katsh hope you get a bit of sleep today/tonight.

Mump.. re swelling my legs and feet are awful.. pilsbury doughman. Just been for a leg wax and pedicure and the beautician was horrified - think she was ready to call an ambulance! I explained that it is fairly common for pregnant women, seemd to calm her a bit.
Anyhow the foot and leg massage helped... but must keep an eye on it.
When is your next antenatal.. may be worth getting bp checked asap.. just in case?

I have another one tomorrow (and scan) so hoping things are ok.

Hi to everyone else.
xx

unicorn · 03/10/2007 14:37

sorry meant muppetgirl!

Mumpbump · 03/10/2007 14:42

Many congratulations Katsh - I hope Rory recover soon with the aid of the AB's. Having a newborn baby is so worrying - I don't remember being this paranoid last time!!

Joseph actually managed to stay awake for about 2 hours this morning, but then wouldn't settle so I wound up cuddling him to sleep. He is currently asleep in his rocking chair so have managed to clean the kitchen floor - major achievement and one of the priorities for my non-existent pre-baby maternity leave! We didn't have a good night last night so am knackered today.

Hoping that everyone is well and that the babies will start arriving thick and fast - obviously not TOO fast! - now we're in October.

J2OBABY · 03/10/2007 15:15

CONGRATULATIONS KAT

mw said she'll do a sweep in 7 days.

just had a funny turn in morrisons, went dizzy and shakey, and there was nowhere to sit down, hence me leaning heavily on the trolley but noone asked me if i was ok, managed to get to the car and drink some lucozade, don't know how i managed to get home!

still really shakey, hope it goes away soon, it feels awful.

muppet-i am all swollen too, i can't even hold my toothbrush properly in a morning, my hands won't work.

mump-sorry you had a bad night, sleep while Joseph does, not floors!

am going to sit for a bit and hope this shakiness goes away and then start preparing pumpkin soup.

hope your ok.

Mumpbump · 03/10/2007 15:44

J2O - I did get 2.5 hours sleep in this morning, fortunately! Sounds like you need to do the same, but suspect that, like me, you're probably not very good at doing nothing... Hope you feel better soon...

MrsFish · 03/10/2007 15:59

Congrats Katsh

Still nothing happening here, seeing mw tomorrow and she is going to do me a sweep... I have decided to go for it again, keep changing my mind

Had friends round all morning which was nice, then took ds out for a drive to try and get him to sleep, 40 mins later he eventually dozed off he had an hour though which is something, but instead of resting I decided to make some cakes for the freezer, so now have 3 dozen fairy cakes well, minus about 6, that had to be tested by myself and ds, well they are only small ones am now taking a break, but am feeling really really tired and my eyes are stinging, could do with a nap but that's an impossibility now, might put my feet up though and hope ds carries on watching cbeebies, he is engrossed with Come Outside atm

MrsFish · 03/10/2007 16:01

J20 - what has the mw said about your swollen joints? surely its not right that you and muppetgirl have it so bad?

Muppetgirl - go get yourself checked out asap

muppetgirl · 03/10/2007 16:56

J20 -I hope you are okay now,. that sounds a little like low blood suger. Do you think lo is on a final growth spurt?

Mrs Fish -Yes the joints thing is very painful. I have carpal tunnel syndrome which is a form of rsi from playing the cello/piano and then sewing heavily for a year. The doctor just said 'If your fingers ache after playing the cello, can you just stop doing it?' I thought that was a great idea as I was teaching cello and piano at the time! I'm sure if a footballer came in with an injured knee the dr would not have just siad 'well can you just stop playing football?' Pregnant women can develop it as j20 has and for me it's like my fingers are made from elastic bands that are too short and everytime I close my fists I can feel a stretch down through the ligaments/tendons (?) and then the knuckles ache. Going to the loo in the middle of the night is rough as I can only just rip the toilet paper off! I'm hoping it dies down again after lo is born, especially as we're appraoching winter and that is when my fingers really ache

Well, braxtons are now 2-3 every hour and starting to get a little sore so dh is getting very excited and asking 'is this it?' He forgets I was induced last time so have no idea!! I feel like a first time mum Also my bump goes a really wierd shape during the braxton -very pointed out front. Looks very odd!

The hall floor is done, as is the downstairs loo and a bit of the kitchen. It looks fab so we'll definately have to be a 'shoes off' family. The worktop people phoned to say that they ahve changed the colour and design and they were just ringing to see if that was okay beofre cutting them. We didn't know they had changed anything and as we ordered them in May we are a little surprised as, funnily enough, they have got half our money They are going to send us a sample of the new worktop but I am now resigned to the fact that the kitchen will definately not be finished before lo arrives. Silly me for thinking 2 months would be enough time

Hope you are all well
emma

greedygreedyguzzler · 03/10/2007 17:32

oh muppetgirl!!! if you beat me to having your baby too its NOT FAIR!!!!

my bump seems to be getting higher and i am sure baby is retreating up inside me.......maybe i will be the first ever woman to give birth via my mouth!! certainly doesn't want to come out the traditional way!

mrs fish - go for the sweep tomorrow, you might as well!!! i will be having one on friday at the mw i think...........prob pointless but worth a try hey?!!

congrats katsch!! i like the name Rory, its lovely...........means he has to be really hunky when he is older though!!!...it is a definate hunky kind of name!!
