I had a message from Alicet: she's third in line, so it's likely to be late morning/lunchtime before we hear more.

muppetgirl · 02/10/2007 10:50

Morning all
Congratulations ejt!
Good luck Alice!

Not been around again as I'm getting a little nervous about lo's arrival and really just want it to be over, I hate waiting and I'm not good at not being in control
Seeing the consultant next wed to see if Henry is still large and if he is I should be booked in for an induction around 38 weeks -22nd oct ish. Would rather this as then I can plan for Ollie, dogs, dh ect. Hate the not knowing when it's going to happen and are really carrying on as if nothings happening! Having braxtens/tightenings every day at least 2-3 hrs and some are aching. Had a 13 year old girl stare at me and follow me around in a shop the other day and are really feeling the 'have you got twins in there?' comments now.
Are having the floor done today so have been officialy kicked out of the house as the man needs to scree (SP?) to make the floors flat, he's found that the bottom stair isn't supported fully as they used the laminate floor to rest it on. Take the laminate away and you have a very large gap to fill. Bl**dy new houses. Are up the gym and then are popping to Hungerford to the antiques arcade to see if I can get a pine chest of drawers (where we got Ollie's from) as I realised I have nothing to put Henry's clothes in These seems to be cheaper than buying one from the shops.
Will read all the posts tonight
good luck all and thinking of all those near or past due dates xx

J2OBABY · 02/10/2007 12:07

morning all

have cleaned my bottom floor this morning and some of my kitchen cupboards. got my sling this morning, just need to work out how it goes!

mrsF, i get pains on an evening and as soon as i lay in bed-they go away, i walked around for a bit last night to see if anything happened, but nope, got on the bed and they dissapeared.

inzi-can sympethise(sp) with emotions being all over the place, i cried at X Factor on Sat FGS and just got a lump in my throat at a blood donor advert on radio hope you feel better this afternoon

hi Muppet sorry your getting nervous, i've been the same, its terrifying isn't it, try not to think about it too much hope you get a bargain for your drawers for Henry.

hi choc

hope all is going well for Alice!

don't know what to do this afternoon, may listen to my hypnobirth cd its ok, it sends me to sleep, but then the music carries on and wakes me up annoying me, can't stand noise when i'm asleep.

MrsFish · 02/10/2007 13:10

J20 - I read your first sentence and thought it said... 'have clenched my bottom this morning...'

ChocolateHobnob · 02/10/2007 13:13

I thought it said

'had cleaned my bottom'....!!

WinnieThePooh · 02/10/2007 14:16

Hi everyone,

Any news from alicet yet Choc?
My backache seems to go as soon as I went to bed last night. Got up with DD at 7.45am this morning to get her breakfast and make sure she was ready for school. Went back to bed at 8.30 when DP too her along the road and did not wake up until 10.30am. I am making the most of having DP at home before this LO arrives.

Got the bus down to the supermarket and did the shopping. Called DP when I had finished and he picked me up in the car.

I am going to make chicken and ham pies for dinner tonight, so have cooked the chicken, need to get the pastry made so will get that does shortly. Any left over pastry and filling will get made into another pie and frozen. That way my mum or DP can reheat it for when I go in to have the baby.

I need to get my office sorted properly so I will not be on too much this afternoon.

J2OBABY · 02/10/2007 15:19

lol, have done that too when i remember

winnie, yummy chicken and ham pie....MMmmmmm

no news yet then?

i have just woken up, not picking dd up for an hour so think i'll just sit

ChocolateHobnob · 02/10/2007 15:43

No news! I guess the queue was longer than Alice expected!! I'll let you all know as soon as it does. I wonder if the mobile networks work properly round the hospital area...

Mmmm - chicken and ham pie...

I've taken some Toulouse sausages out of the freezer for dinner. About to have a brownie - made a batch on Sat. Nigella brownies with white choc chips in.

Alicet just texted me! Baby Adam born at 12.51, 7 pounds 14 (which is big for Alice - she's only 5 foot - and bigger than her DS was) and she says it was very civilized!

How exciting!! Another baby on our thread!

(It is getting quieter. I will be Last Woman Standing, I am sure, since I have no signs whatsoever of early labour!).

CONGRATULAIONS alicet.

7lbs 14 is pretty big. I am just under 5 ft so I think I will struggle if my LO is that size. One of my freinds thinks she will be 8lbs. I hope not.

JHust finshed dinner. the pies were yummy. Very crumbly pastry though.Got to cook the others then freeze them.

Going to bath DD now and then get on with sorting my office out.

ChocolateHobnob · 02/10/2007 19:50

Last piggies standing! I like that.

Though I tend to slump rather than stand to be honest...

Baby's pramette came today. The instructions were opaque as ever but it's now proudly in pram mode - looks v nice. Guess we'll have to fold it up - can't have a pramette sat in our living room for a month!

Winnie, I'm 5 foot 2 and I'm hoping mine isn't too big... worryingly though recently my little bump (that everyone went on about as being too small but the mw said was fine) has become more of a heffalump!!! Which is a bit of a worry....

HonorMatopoeia · 02/10/2007 19:51

alicet - just had to zoom on and say a huge congratulations!
Hi to everyone else and hope all are well x

Oh how lovely CONGRATULAIONS ALICET AND WELCOME ADAM

Well I'm not due til 17th so another couple of weeks still standing (sort of) for me too...

Got another scan on Thursday - hopefully no problems this time.

speak anon

xx

J2OBABY · 02/10/2007 20:45

CONRATULATIONS ALICE

ooo aren't you all short asses only kidding, i'm 5ft 5" and dd was 6 10 and a half, but i had had her by now so don't know how big this one will be, my bump isn't huge, just like a hard rugby ball.

will you stop talking about food! although, winnmie if you want to pass the recipe on i may habe a go at making them, need to go shopping tommorrow, having pumpkin and bacon soup for tea tommorrow yum

hi to everyone, goong to do a bit of my jigsaw then go to bed

Collywobbles · 02/10/2007 21:01

CONGRATULATIONS ALICET!!!! I'm so pleased that everything went well. Welcome to little Adam.

Muppet - I've been terrified too. I'm due on 22nd but everyday I'm wondering if this will be the one. I've got some kind of throat infection at the mo and have a bit of a temperature - if I go into labour now, I'm not sure I'd have the energy for it!

I'm 5ft6" and when I had my scan on Thurs the midwives and consultant told me that my baby is a 'good size' and 'bigger than average'....I was so relieved that my placenta had moved that I didn't think to ask how big.....My bump is huge though - I tried to cut my toenails the other day and had to give up after about 20 mins...there really is no dignity in this pregnancy lark!

Mumpbump · 02/10/2007 21:03

Congratulations to Alicet! I hope your ds is as doting as mine and that you make a quick recovery...

WinnieThePooh · 02/10/2007 21:04

J2O if you have the Nigella Lawson book "Feast" it is in there. If not I will copy it out and email it to you.

MrsFish · 02/10/2007 21:09

Congratulation alicet and Adam

Well I am 5ft 3 and ds1 was 8 pound 3 ounces and I reckon Ben is going to be bigger

Still no signs of anything happening here got mw appt on thursday, think I am going to go along with having a membrane sweep if nothing happens before then. Its just the not knowing when its going to happen that is so annoying, and how it will start... god I hate surprises and am most definitely not doing this pregnancy lark ever again... so there now going to go and eat some strawberrys with dream topping

TheLadyEvenstar · 02/10/2007 21:19

Congratulations Alicet xxxxxxx
