@HairsprayBabe I've started with headaches in the evening too arggghhh. I feel so ungrateful as it took such a long time to get here but it's not how I expected it to be 🤣
Hope the symptoms soon pass for you and you get the second trimester glow! Xx

Mialain · 04/02/2020 14:38

@LucyLucyT i think i felt the same thing im also 16 weeks now, might just be imagining it at this point, will you be finding out the gender at your 20 week scan? DH and i are debating it at the minute, he wants a surprise, i really want to know. I think ill cave in and pay for a private scan later on so might as well find out for free 😂

@HairsprayBabe i know what you mean anout the migraines never felt such intense migraine before, and paracetamol does absolutely nothing.looking forward to meeting my baby, but pregnancy for me has been awful so far. Doesnt help that my mother keeps trying to warn me about not having vigorous sex or it can harm the baby, I literally felt repulsed. 🤮

squirrelnutkins1 · 04/02/2020 16:05

@Mialain I'm sorry but that really made me laugh 🤣🤣🤣 not what you want to hear from your mum! X

amysara24 · 04/02/2020 16:55

@Mialain that gave me such a giggle - I know it’s probably not funny for you at all 😂😂

HairsprayBabe · 04/02/2020 19:27

@Mialain if I wasn't being sick before I am now 🤣🤮

Anyone else got leaky nipples yet? Mine seems to get cloudier by the day - I only leak when I am squeezing them, it doesn't hurt. honestly a bit satisfying have to try not to do it when I am in the bath

LucyLucyT · 04/02/2020 23:26

@Mialain we're hoping to keep the gender a surprise if possible 😊

Had my first day of feeling relatively normal today which was nice, actually had energy for about 75% of the day, did a small gym session too. Let's see how I feel tomorrow now though hehe.

Mialain · 05/02/2020 22:17

@HairsprayBabe how many weeks along are you? I haven't had any leaky nips, is it enough to show through your top?

@LucyLucyT thats great to hear u can work out. Are you doing any cardio?

I feel like my appetite is out of control, especially at night, seem to only want junk n takeaways. Was stressed about gaining too much weight, but I'm not so worried now, might as well go full out and enjoy the experience. 😂😂

LucyLucyT · 05/02/2020 22:46

@Mialain I mainly did cardio, just the cross trainer last night as had been for a bit of a walk already earlier in the day. I am not doing as high level as before but it still gets the heart going!

I know what you mean about food, I can see I've gained a fair bit of fat on my tummy (some of it is bump but some is not!) I'm trying to get my appetite a bit more controlled again now but it's very hard! I'm finding it hard having to go back to clothes sizes I got out of about 18 months ago but I'm not big enough for maternity clothes yet!

WooMaWang · 06/02/2020 15:58

@HairsprayBabe Mine are a little bit leaky now. Not so much that I notice anything other than a bit of dried colostrum on them every so often though (which is fairly disgusting really).

On exercise:
I feel like my tummy is a bit fat and wobbly right now. There is a teeny bit of bump there (which I know more because it's hard than because you can see) but right now I just feel a bit flabby. DP keeps telling me how fit I am and that I look great, but I definitely don't look as good as I did before getting pregnant.

I do Pilates regularly (several times a week usually) so my stomach muscles are pretty good at holding stuff in. I think I'm going to start going swimming at lunchtimes a few times a week too. That might make me feel better, and would be good for me.

I used to cycle to work but haven't while pregnant (I'm not keen on cycling through all the rush hour traffic, especially as a couple of my friends have recently had accidents cycling to work), so I am feeling less active than I'd like right now.

Ethellsmum · 06/02/2020 20:21

16 week appt with the midwife today. It took ages to find the heartbeat but I eventually heard it.
I’m feeling a bit more relaxed now about telling people but will feel so much better after the 20 week scan.
Does anyone else think the weeks are flying by?

HairsprayBabe · 06/02/2020 21:10

Mumsnet ate my post and I had typed bloody loads. Angry

I'm 16 weeks today @Mialain nips only leaking when squeezed - DH worked that one out for us Blush

@ethellsmum I have my 16wk apt on weds what can I expect?

I have stopped losing weight but haven't gained any back yet either I have lost just over a stone since the start of pregnancy but it tailed off in the last 3 weeks or so.

I haven't been sick in 5 days, although still feeling green most of the time, and more and more food is looking appealing to me so I am hopeful that I am over the worst of it. Touch wood Jesus Christ I do not want to hex myself.

No bump for me yet - but tummy is firm to prod and when I suck mydelf in I have a definite lump where baby is - don't know if any of that made any sense.

I have a stinking cold and I am still getting the headaches but I am feeling much more positive than I did earlier this week.

HairsprayBabe · 06/02/2020 21:11

Oh also my boobs are HUGE and I have done no exercise since wk 6 because of th sickness I used to do circuits three times a week and I feel like a total slug at the moment

WooMaWang · 06/02/2020 21:38

That does make sense. Mine is similar (and feels very weird if I roll over in bed and try to lie on it). Except that I just feel and look thicker through the torso than I used to. So mostly just like I've put on a little bit of weight.

My boobs are massive too. DP keeps commenting (delightedly 😂) on how big they are. I've decided that my sports bra is far more comfortable than any of my other options because it holds everything in place.

Hopefully you'll stop being sick now.

Mialain · 07/02/2020 08:02

@Ethellsmum the weeks are definitely flying by, i cant wait for july... so excited and surprisingly optimistic about childbirth, i really am excited to experience it.

I also like the rest of you am very worried about gaining too much weight, trying to find a balance of giving into cravings but also not going over board, haven't been able to go gym as migraines are still very intense.

WolfInSlutsClothing · 07/02/2020 10:24

Hi! I'm due the 21st of July, this is my second pregnancy, my ds is nearly 15 months. I'm 16+3 today, just been to the doctor this morning for my flu and whooping cough vaccine, got to hear baby's heart beat aswell which is always lovely and reassuring.

I'm lacking most symptoms atm, nausea is gone, no heart burn as of yet. I do have frequent headaches and a growing belly though. Can feel the baby move since around 12 weeks, but didn't feel my first until around 17 weeks I think. Hope you're all well thismorning!

HairsprayBabe · 08/02/2020 10:54

Happy Saturday all
Welcome @WolfInSlutsClothing fabulous user name!

I had a really busy week at work, traveled all over the country from Mon-Thurs and I really crashed yesterday. Ended up being sick most of the day and going to bed at half 8. Slept through untill 9 this morning and I am feeling a lot better. I think I have to be really careful about getting overtired because 🤢🤮 the end result is not good.

Cleaned the house this morning and now I am having a full on chill day.

I am traveling to Italy at the end of the month and I really really hope that I am feeling good for it. Anyone been to Rome? I want good traveling tips 😊

HairsprayBabe · 08/02/2020 10:56

Also v. Jealous you are feeling movements @WolfInSlutsClothing I keep focusing on my tummy for ages willing to feeling a flicker!

amysara24 · 08/02/2020 13:41

@HairsprayBabe sorry you’ve been feeling sick, I hope you start feeling better! I’m doing the same, sitting super still to try and feel any movements but nothing yet.
I had a private scan today at 16+3, all measurements were normal, but the legs are measuring 17+3! I’m so surprised at how clear the pictures are, especially the 3D one 😁

Aww great pics 😊 did you find out boy or girl?? Xx

amysara24 · 08/02/2020 14:11

@squirrelnutkins1 thanks, I’m really chuffed! No we didn’t ask, we’re planning to keep it a surprise if we can manage that long! It’s hard though, I was wondering if the sonographer could tell the whole time!

OP posts:
squirrelnutkins1 · 08/02/2020 14:15

I'm guessing not from your pics 😊 have you got any inkling? We're finding out Monday eek. We're both 99% it's a boy @amysara24

squirrelnutkins1 · 08/02/2020 14:16

*boy! Not not!

amysara24 · 08/02/2020 14:21

@squirrelnutkins1 you think? I keep saying I think it’s a girl but I have absolutely no reasoning for it, just that when I picture myself with a baby it’s always a girl. Ooo that’s so exciting, you’ll have to let us know when you find out! 😍

OP posts:
squirrelnutkins1 · 08/02/2020 14:28

We're the same, so desp for a girl, maybe that's why we're so convinced it's a boy to help with slight disappointment!! That sounds sooo ungrateful with it taking forever to get preg etc but we're the same, just have that picture of of us with a girl in our heart of hearts 💕 @amysara24 will do! We've still only told two friends so if all goes well on Mo day we'll be telling family. I'm really nervous!

amysara24 · 08/02/2020 14:32

@squirrelnutkins1 no I absolutely understand what you mean - if I had a choice, as much as I know I won’t mind either way, I would love a boy so I think that’s why I’m convinced it’s a girl!
That’s so exciting, it’ll be amazing to be able to show them a clear photo too 😁
