Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

@goldenkirst just read your post out to my husband and he replied 'well they are really big aren't they' 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

@heroineinahalfshell the thought of waiting until 20 weeks did cross my mind but as we got it all new we have delayed the delivery until July so I'm just pretending we have delayed the purchase until then! Lol

Welcome @KittyKat2020 - I'm 18+2 today and our 20 week scan isn't until 26/3. I literally feel like I've been pregnant forever!! 🤣 x

GoldenKirst · 03/03/2020 14:17

Hi @KittyKat2020 😊 the wait for the 20 week scan drags on!! I'm 18 + 1 and mine is on 18/03. Maybe getting to hear the heartbeat at 16 weeks will help? It didn't for me just made me more desperate to see them again 😂

@StephD2020 I made the mistake of sending him the babies size yesterday in comparison to an animal, it's a puffin this week 😲 he's now taken to calling me mamma puffin! 😂

KittyKat2020 · 03/03/2020 14:23

@GoldenKirst tell me about it! I have my 16 week appointment tomorrow and the midwife said she will do heartbeat but I will probably just be more desperate to see it!

@StephD2020 Yup seems like forever!! The worst part is I just look fat rather than pregnant.

StephD2020 · 03/03/2020 15:45

@GoldenKirst mama puffin?!?! Pahahahaha 🤣 that's absolutely brilliant. Although I thought puffins were quite big no? 😳

@KittyKat2020 hearing you on the just feeling fat front! I'm in exactly the same boat although my husband does keep reassuring me that I do look pregnant. Guess it's still relatively early on?

So.... at my 16 week appt my midwife didn't check the heartbeat - is that normal or should she have? X

Murree · 03/03/2020 15:51

Had my 16 week appointment today, little pickle wouldn't stay still long enough to listen to the heartbeat for more than 2 seconds Hmm. Still it was there and nice and strong.
Midwife also offered to let me come and have a listen at 18 weeks too if I start to feel anxious which was nice.

I keep having to look in the mirror to check I'm still pregnant... just dont feel anything atm! Just a little fatter like others have said!

GoldenKirst · 03/03/2020 18:27

@StephD2020 I thought they were massive but apparently not!

I think some midwives do and some don't from what I have read. I didn't ask she just got the Doppler and listened for a minute, I did mention though that they didn't play it out loud at 12 week scan so she maybe just did it to put my mind at ease 🤷🏼‍♀️

@GoldenKirst what app is that?! So much cuter than fruit and veg! Smile

GoldenKirst · 04/03/2020 14:09

@heroineinahalfshell it's called Pregnancy+ 😊 you can choose between fruit, animals or deserts!

heroineinahalfshell · 04/03/2020 17:36

Thank you! Apparently bump is the size of a canary Smile

Louisaizzy · 04/03/2020 18:27

Saw this and thought was interesting, luckily I haven’t had any Of these antibiotics!

NamiSwan · 05/03/2020 06:39

@louisaizzy I freaked out a bit when I saw the title to that article as I'm currently on antibiotics for an infection in a cut on my finger! Luckily the article says penicillin is ok and I'm on flucloxacillin so baby should be fine (obviously I did ask when they prescribed it to me but you never know).

I'm 19 weeks today, just 11 days till my 20 week scan! Can't wait. I have been feeling what I think is movement but hard to tell (you'd think I know now it's my third baby!). How often are those of you who are feeling movements actually feeling them? I feel like some days I notice it a lot and other days it's not really at all.

Firstmummytobe · 05/03/2020 08:23

@NamiSwan in 19 weeks tomorrow with my first baby, and I have definitely felt moment. I can feel tiny flutters that feel like butterflies especially when lying down but some days I feel nothing and then this morning I’ve felt a lot of it!! Not big enough for my partener to feel but mother’s instinct I jsut know it’s wriggler letting me know he’s okay in there😁 It’s crazy how much it has hit me that I’m pregnant over the last week, ive been so emotional, in a good way, but I’m starting to show so much now, and this pregnancy is absolutely flying!!! 1 week off 5 months is so so scary, I can remeber when we all started this forum with our positive pregnancy tests how surreal❤️💙
8 days until 20 weeks scan, I’m so exciting to see how my boy has been growing.
Hope everybody is well and welcome to all the newbies!! Xxx

MaisieMolly · 05/03/2020 14:52

Hi everyone, how are you all doing? It’s been good to read everyone’s updates, I’ve been busy at work. Feeling baby move a bit I think but it’s hard to tell, I’m 18 weeks now. Feels similar to how @firstmummytobe is describing it. More some days and some days nothing at all. Can’t wait until I can feel it a bit stronger and my partner can feel it too. Also getting quite round by now and had to buy some maternity trousers!! They’re still a bit big but much more comfy than my standard ones now. I’m feeling fine, no real symptoms or issues at this point, long may it stay that way. Not long to wait until our 20 week scans for most of us now, how exciting! I’m excited to find out if It’ll be a boy or a girl too.

GoldenKirst · 05/03/2020 19:22

13 days until 20 week scan! Can't wait to find out baby puffins gender and start buying things! I'm actually surprised I've held off this long not buying anything! My mum & dad have bought us a bedside cot (Kinderkraft Neste) as they were in Lidl last week 😊

We have names for either boy or girl so can't wait to start saying it!! & maybe buying a few personalised bits 🙂

I think I've been feeling movements but not everyday, mainly if I'm relaxing like now. Does anyone else talk to their bumps? I'm always asking if they're ok in there 😂🤰🏼

MaisieMolly · 05/03/2020 20:39

@GoldenKirst that’s nice that you talk to your bump :) I am struggling to connect and believe that there’s a baby in there. Anyone else feeling like this?
Hopefully the 20 week scan and knowing the gender will help me with bonding. It’s not like it was a shock, we had been actively trying for a few months!

EL1984 · 06/03/2020 07:24

@MaisieMolly I'm still in the can't believe it stage and I think my husband is too. Although I've popped out in the tum a bit this week and two people I occasionally see at work have asked me if I'm pregnant (bold move I say!) so is getting more obvious that it's real.

I do rub my tummy and my husband kisses it goodnight but I still don't think it's really sunk in. We are both manic busy at work and trying to get our house renovated starting at the end of this month so so my mind is pretty pre occupied with organising to move out and choosing toilets, baths, taps, paint etc

Is anyone else worried about coronavirus? I'm terrified of catching it being jammed in a packed tube to and from work every day. Supposed to be seeing friends on the weekend but one is in self isolation as one of his colleagues at work has the virus... think we will give it a miss Confused

LoloFuentes · 06/03/2020 07:46

@EL1984 I’d give it a miss mate ( the friends thing). Your immune system is compromised by being pregnant as it is. They will understand. We are susceptible to catching ought easily. Well I really worried about it. Any it’s up to how you feel about it.

It’s still not sunk in for me that I’m pregnant. I’m 14+5. Long way to 20 weeks scan. Only thing that reminds me I’m pregnant in the nausea and food aversions. They have not gone away yet. Could do with feeling a bit normal. 🥺

Nellie3 · 06/03/2020 08:46

I'm also finding it hard to realise there is actually a baby in there! Unless I wear tight clothes which I don't tend to, I just look a bit fatter. I went to pregnancy yoga this week and the class was focused on connecting with baby. It was really good actually, would recommend as it lets you have some time to just be and think about you and your baby. It was nice to meet some other pregnant women too, although most were further along than us.

I THINK I've felt movements but not sure, it's felt like tiny bubbles popping and makes me feel a bit sick.

Yes, I am slightly worried about coronavirus. I don't think I would be usually, but just because I'm pregnant and work in a school and worry if it could have an affect on the unborn baby. There doesn't seem to be any advice specifically for pregnant women though. Hope you're all ok xxx

GoldenKirst · 07/03/2020 17:30

I think I just had my first pregnancy hormones breakdown (in asda carpark) 😩

They didn't have the bacon or bread buns that I went for. Nearly cried in the bread aisle 😂 & had an argument with the self checkout....

Bought chocolate fudge cake and frozen pizza instead and then shed a little tear in the car. Probably looked like a crazy woman but who cares 🤷🏼‍♀️

EL1984 · 07/03/2020 21:01

Hahaha @GoldenKirst you poor thing! Fair enough, Bacon butties are the best, I hope the pizza and cake did the job.

I've had two meltdowns so far when I've been really tired. I had got myself all ready last sat morning to go to my nearest Liz Earle store to get some more face wash and run a few other errands, double checked the opening time and turns out they've shut the store down. Half an hour of tears ... the struggle is real.

Macbless · 08/03/2020 21:04

Hey

I've got my scan on Wednesday. Similar to
Some of you I keep thinking I might feel movements but can't be sure. I was told the placenta was posterior so I should feel movements earlier but then I feel a bit of pressure to feel things and then started worrying that I hadn't - it's so silly - I always find things to worry about.

I work in healthcare in a hospital. So far (it is limited numbers) Coronavirus doesn't seem to have the same significant problems for pregnant women as SARS or swine flu. It's so hard not to worry (and I have) but then I think I haven't given any thought to normal flu which kills way more and lots more people get ill with it. So hard when it's all over the news. I'm trying really hard to not touch my face/eyes/mouth without washing my hands.

heroineinahalfshell · 08/03/2020 21:24

I'm a bit worried.... I've had constant pain in my lower left side (near the hip bone) all day today. Should I contact the midwife? It could just be round ligament pain, but it's worrying me that it's not going away. Anyone had similar?

heroineinahalfshell · 09/03/2020 17:41

Mystery solved, woke up this morning and my bump has properly popped out! So that's what the pain was, just ligaments stretching. Anyone else got a "B" bump?

GoldenKirst · 09/03/2020 17:51

@heroineinahalfshell what's a B bump? I'm waiting for my mine to round out all over rather than dip in the middle if that's what you mean? 19 weeks today and definitely growing 😊
