Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

@GoldenKirst yes a B bump is when you still have a dip by the belly button. I assumed I wouldn't have a bump til the dip went away (fat belly), but it is most definitely a bump now - my DH was shocked how much it's pushed out overnight! I'm 17 weeks.

MaisieMolly · 09/03/2020 21:03

I think I’ve got a B bump As well (never head of it before!)
It’s fairly prominent now. Definitely noticeable in most of my clothes. I’m nearly 19 weeks.
Is anyone feeling their baby move around a bit more yet? In the last few days the feeling has gone from fluttering feeling to full on movements that are really quiet strong!!

StephD2020 · 09/03/2020 22:36

I defo have a B bump @heroineinahalfshell - want it to round off but I'm not sure it will! Got told I was very large for 19 weeks at the weekend by my sis-in-law which was a helpful comment, NOT! 🙄

I defo think I'm starting to feel the baby move. Not really bubbles popping, but more like a twitching trapped nerve. Just been playing the bean some disco house this evening and I defo think they liked it - keeps moving around when I turn it off! 🤣

GoldenKirst · 10/03/2020 09:19

@heroineinahalfshell definitely have a B bump too then! Although boyfriend commented on my belly button last night & how it's starting to pop out 🤢 as long as it doesn't become a full 'outie'.

Just read this on Instagram and thought it might be reassuring to share 😊

(Sorry if that doesn't work) it basically says coronavirus can't be passed to baby in the womb and you're not at

GoldenKirst · 10/03/2020 09:20

Bloomin' posted before I finished....

You're not at greater risk of catching because of pregnancy & it can't be passed by breastfeeding if the mum has tested positive 😊

KittyKat2020 · 11/03/2020 13:37

Week 17 and the times dragging! I think the second trimester is the hardest part because it's like you're not pregnant anymore, it's a weird wait to the next scan

GoldenKirst · 12/03/2020 14:28

Is anyone else worried that their scans will be cancelled if we get put on lock down? It's been worrying me a lot today!! Probably because I've waited so long for the 20 week scan and now it's less than a week away 😩

StephD2020 · 12/03/2020 15:36

@GoldenKirst I've been thinking exactly the same! Ours is on 26th. When's yours? They will have to keep maternity services running though, babies will come when they are ready!!

My hubby and I are both self employed and trying to buy a house right now, defo could have done with better timing!! We are uni lecturers so hopefully we will be able to do a lot of our stuff from home so we can still get paid 🤞🏻

How's everyone else feeling about it all? X

PandaPink · 12/03/2020 16:29

I feel neither here nor there with it all. It's not that much of an issue unless you are elderly with comorbidities... But then everything should be an issue for those that fall into that category not just this virus. All viruses, all flus and colds, sickness and diarrhoea bugs all of these can kill those people too I don't understand why this virus has got people unsettled?

Sorry I may seem ignorant to it all but those people are vulnerable to any bugs they can catch and there are loads out there!

GoldenKirst · 12/03/2020 17:43

@StephD2020 mine is on the 18th 😊 luckily the hospital I go to doesn't have an a&e or anything like that so, probably just overthinking as usual!

@PandaPink I'm not worried about the virus itself, just about the affect the panic is causing everywhere and the knock on issues etc.

We had an ambulance at work today and the paramedics came out in aprons and masks, didn't take anyone to hospital though. And a few people have been sent home to self isolate but no plans to close like other places

PandaPink · 12/03/2020 18:07

Sorry @GoldenKirst I think I'm hormonal and grumpy today, didn't meant to sound rude.
Yes the knock on affect is ridiculous... stockpiling toilet paper I mean come on!!!

Im a nurse in a GP practice and I'm just drained now x

StephD2020 · 12/03/2020 18:20

Oh @PandaPink you must be sick to death of it all! I'm not too worried but my mum is on anti rejection meds after cancer treatment and she is in her 70's in a warden controlled residential block so a bit concerned for her to be fair.

GoldenKirst · 12/03/2020 18:48

@PandaPink no worries you didn't come across rude 😊 I think most people are just a bit fed up of hearing about it and other people's reaction like panic buying! My breakdown in Asda was simply because others had bought everything on the shelves...

NamiSwan · 13/03/2020 06:47

@StephD2020 I'm also a uni lecturer. My DH is a postdoc so we should be able to work from home and I will probably do once term ends. If schools/nursery get shut down though I have no idea what I'm going to do with my kids 😕

I'm fairly sure scans won't get cancelled, they're pretty important disgnostically for pregnancy to ensure no medical issues with baby.

GoldenKirst · 13/03/2020 14:24

I've spoken with my midwife today as a colleague has been told to self isolate for 7 days and to get tested as came back from Spain on Monday and has been ill since! They were in work Tuesday to this morning then got sent home. We have just been told to carry on and will have to pick up the slack 😲

I just wanted to check with my midwife that the action take by work was right etc. Not worried about getting it but I think they should have made said colleague stay at home from the beginning!

Firstmummytobe · 13/03/2020 21:12

Had my 20 week scan today, was absolutely amazing nothing compared to any other scan I’ve had. Got to see lots of details and even the umbilical cord!!! Little man doing really well, got to see in depth detail of his arms and legs and he was in a great position! Growing at perfect rate

Hope everybody else’s go well.

MaisieMolly · 13/03/2020 21:50

@firstmummytobe aww how lovely! Sounds wonderful to see him. My scan isn’t for 2 weeks yet, hoping it still goes ahead with all the Coronavirus stuff going on.

FlorestanAndEusebius · 14/03/2020 04:13

Our local health trust have cancelled all clinics except for chemo, antenatal and some other "essentials", so I think for now scans will go ahead. They've said that they are limiting you to only bringing one person to appointments though to minimise infection risks.

EL1984 · 14/03/2020 08:22

@Firstmummytobe that's such a clear pic! I can't believe how big the baby is compared to the 12 weeks scan.
I've got my scan next Wednesday, do you have to drink lots before the appointment this time too?
And do they take bloods?

X

GoldenKirst · 14/03/2020 09:53

@Firstmummytobe wow that is such a clear picture! Did they show you everything they were doing? Mine is this coming Wednesday, hopefully baby behaves and we can find out the gender 😊

Macbless · 14/03/2020 20:51

@EL1984 I had my scan on Wednesday. You need to have a fullish bladder. They then made me empty mine to finish the scan. I didn't have any bloods done. I don't think you have another set of bloods routinely at this stage. My next MW appointment is at 24 weeks and she didn't mention whether we have bloods or not.
It was lovely to see the baby. It was never going to feel long enough. The sonographer didn't explain much which was a shame.

NamiSwan · 17/03/2020 05:57

Hey everyone hope all is well!

Had my 20 week scan yesterday, all well with baby, apparently my placenta is anterior which they didn't tell me at my 12 week scan. Which explains why I didn't feel movements till later than I was expecting despite it being my third baby.

We also found out we're having another girl! We're all very happy, especially my two daughters (6 and 4) who were very vocal about wanting another sister 🤣

Hope everyone is getting on ok in these crazy coronavirus times. My boss emailed me yesterday evening to say I should come in to collect anything I needed to work from home, and then work from home for the foreseeable future. I'm lucky that I work in a job where its possible, my husband will also be working from home. I'm guessing at some point schools and nurseries will close and then I've got no idea what we'll do 😨

Fig20 · 17/03/2020 07:02

Glad to hear everyone’s scan have gone well 💕

I wasn’t worried about this Coronavirus until the past few days. It’s odd that there’s been a sudden change of advice for pregnant women. Im hoping it’s just a precaution due to previous viruses like SARS. I’m a secondary science teacher so minimising social contact is impossible. Especially when we have a parents evening 2pm-7pm where all of the staff and parents are jammed into a hall like sardines! The kids have been coughing and spluttering everywhere so I’m dreading going in.

FlorestanAndEusebius · 17/03/2020 07:06

@Fig20 I'm a secondary teacher too and we have been told to work from home if we are in a vulnerable group. We were told to set up online resources last week to facilitate. I think our Head is reckoning it's just a matter of time until we close though because there will be a fair few staff off now.

Firstmummytobe · 17/03/2020 07:32

We have all been advised, pregnant women should self isolate for 12 weeks as we are now a part of the vulnerable people group. Boris has advised us to stay at home and keep safe so that’s what I will do I’m more than happy🤣 my manager advised me to contact my GP and let him know and to get a sick note to be called off work? However I am not sick and I am gussying that this will affect my maternity leave pay? I’m struggling on what to do to be honest any advice???
