Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

@NamiSwan here’s hoping, people do just have the odd bit, some bleed regularly throughout pregnancy and all is well. We are all just a little different. However, if I were in your shoes I’d be feeling panicky too so you have every right to be. Let us know how you get on and if unsure, maybe try and get a private scan in to see the little one?

Hello,
I hope you don’t mind me going in, I’m 12w +3 and ha sky scan yesterday. I’m technically due on 1st September but I’m having twins so they are likely to come in August!
They will be my 2+3 as I have a 2 year old daughter already

DanielleG96 · 23/02/2020 07:43

16+5 today and found out yesterday that I'm having a little boy 💙 so happy and I love seeing him on the scans. She did say I have an anterior placenta though so will take me longer to feel kicks. Does anyone else have this?

PandaPink · 23/02/2020 09:54

Congrats @DanielleG96!

@NamiSwan How are you doing?

NamiSwan · 23/02/2020 18:16

All good here @pandapink, I had spotting on/off from morning till about 5PM on Friday then it stopped. Haven't had any since, so fingers crossed it was a one off. I read thay thrush can cause spotting so to be on the safe side I used some cream as I did think I could have the beginnings of an infection (I'm prone to them in pregnancy unfortunately). I also had a bit of a panic as before conceiving I had signs of low progesterone and was taking b vits to lengthen my luteal phase and only stopped taking them three weeks ago. So wondered if that could be an issue. Probably not, but to be on the safe side have started taking b vits again. Likely it was just one of those things unrelated to anything but I'm very paranoid anyway about this pregnancy so even if only doing it for my piece of mine I will.

How's everyone else doing? I seem to be expanding rapidly and am actually quite alarmed at how big I am getting 😳 only 17 weeks but I'm really quite massive now and people have already started commenting on it. One colleague at work said shed heard I was having twins. She was suitably embarrassed when I told her there was just one baby in there - obviously someone told her I was looking massive and could be having twins and she got the wrong end of the stick. I do remember this happening with my second pregnancy but can't remember if my growth slowed down or if I was just horrendously big by the end!

MaisieMolly · 23/02/2020 19:32

Hey everyone! I’m 16w3 now. Welcome to the new joiners. And congratulations to those who have found out if they’re having a girl or boy! I think I will wait until the next scan to see that.

I’m still feeling fine, no bad symptoms, a bloaty kind of bump Which comes up during the day and feeling uncomfortable with my jeans. Need to order some maternity clothes now!

Went out last night with some girlfriends, first proper night out since I’ve told everyone so it was good not having to pretend to drink. I was so tired though! And dancing when you’re sober is no fun at all!

@NamiSwan how worrying for you. I’m glad to hear that it seem to have stopped now.

blackpinkinyourarea · 23/02/2020 21:49

@NamiSwan im glad to hear your spotting has stopped! Its really horrible isnt it.
I am getting quite a bump on me now which i love! Im eagerly awaiting the day i feel the baby move Smile
Today i had a gender scan and found out its a little girl, so i am officially Team PINK!!!

GoldenKirst · 25/02/2020 20:59

17+1 today.... think I've been feeling baby move since yesterday, such a strange but lovely feeling. Started taking progress pictures yesterday to start seeing the growth Smile

How is everyone else feeling? I've got this week off work so loving the lie ins and relaxing days, don't want to go back on Monday! And still 3 weeks to 20 week scan Shock

heroineinahalfshell · 26/02/2020 19:47

I've come down with a heavy cold this week and feeling thankful I got my flu shot a week ago! Been off work all week, really struggling with not being able to take decongestants. Feel pathetic! Lots of appointments coming up in March - quad test on Monday, 16w midwife appt next Friday, then 20w scan at the end of the month. Anyone else planning to keep the sex of the baby a surprise? Feel like we're in a minority these days!

Fig20 · 26/02/2020 21:01

@heroineinahalfshell we are planning on keeping it a surprise but I am so tempted to find out. My friend has just had a baby and was so happy that they kept the sex a surprise so I’m trying to use that as inspiration! 😄 Hope you feel better soon xx

EL1984 · 27/02/2020 20:46

@heroineinahalfshell I'm keeping it a surprise Smile

Sorry to hear you're I'll, I got a cold in the wind month and it really knocks you when you can't take cold and flu tablets to get through.

Has anyone else had the flu and whooping cough jab? I need to book in.

GoldenKirst · 28/02/2020 11:03

@EL1984 I've just been for my flu jab this morning Smile and was told to call and book whooping cough after 20 week scan.

Can't wait to find out the gender of baby!

StephD2020 · 29/02/2020 08:57

Morning ladies how is everyone this morning?

We are off to the baby show in London this morning, looking forward to getting stuck into some pram purchasing!! 🤣 anyone else heading there this weekend?

Anyone else feeling absolutely huge already? This is my first baby and I was 11st 4 when I found out. I'm now almost 13st and look huge, am frightened that I'm going to end up some kind of whale! Anyone veteran mums got any advice? I'm late 30's so excess weight is not as easy to shift for me as it used to be 😫

Louisaizzy · 29/02/2020 10:26

Don’t worry too much! You will go back to normal, just takes a bit of effort afterwards.
My first (a girl) I had a neat bump until the end when I had a lot of water retention
My second (a boy) i literally couldn’t stop eating and ballooned to 15/1/2 stone, I started at 10st.. I lost it all afterwards
My Third I’m now 16-17 weeks and so far so good (touch wood) I’ve completely gone off food. Hoping I won’t get a repeat of my second

NamiSwan · 29/02/2020 20:14

I'm massive but have only put on 3 pounds all pregnancy. Think I've lost a lot of muscle mass (I used to exercise 4-5 times a week pre pregnancy) and replaced it with fat 🙈 I really am huge, been getting comments at work all the time about my bump and I'm only 18 weeks.

Anyone else not felt much movement yet? This is my third and I was expecting to feel movement by now but not sure I have. Think what I've felt is gas 😳 I think I'm probably overthinking it after my one random day of spotting last week but keep getting really paranoid 😕

StephD2020 · 01/03/2020 10:26

@Louisaizzy that's made me feel a bit better - thanks! And yes you're right, it's just going to take a bit of effort. I used to be 18st so if I can get back from there I can defo see off 9 months of baby weight 😎

@NamiSwan just 3lbs?!?! So jealous!!

Well we went to the baby show yesterday. Got our bedroom furniture, pram and car seat which is brilliant, all being delivered in July 😁 starting to fee real now (especially as we ended up spending 85% of our total budget on just these three things! 😱) x

GoldenKirst · 01/03/2020 15:15

Anyone else struggling with leg cramps?

I've been waking up 5/6 times a night in horrible pain from both my legs cramping, and it's every night Sad I don't know what I can do to try and help it? It's only in bed, through the day they just ache from cramping all night...

PandaPink · 01/03/2020 16:11

I paid £260 for my pram yesterday with all the trimmings, it's 2nd hand and absolutely pristine. It's the Mima Xari in black leather and rose gold/bronze. I just cannot justify paying £1300 for the same pram with accessories but new. So we've pocketed that saving to book a family holiday for next year Grin

Whatthecrepe · 01/03/2020 19:32

Hi guys I'm new here! Due on the 4th of Aug.... 4th baby. Had a pretty rough time of it at the start with huge clots and bleeding, no-one is quite sure what it was (possible another baby, will never know) anyway this little one is doing well, I'm almost 18 weeks and no bleeding since I was 12 weeks 🎉 I work in a nursery so yeah pretty much exhausted all the time! Is this like a daily chat thread or is there another one? Not really been on a forum type thing since I had my eldest 11 years ago. Hope you're all well 😁

EL1984 · 01/03/2020 19:41

Wow you ladies are so organised with buying things already! I think I'll go to a store and try a few out then get one second hand. Need a light weight slim one to get up and down a few stairs to our flat.

Ouch, the cramps sound awful, especially waking you up all night long. Thankfully haven't had anything like that. Though my foot did crap up in yoga the other day which doesn't happen very often.

X

StephD2020 · 01/03/2020 22:29

I heard sometimes cramps are a sign of too little salt in your diet, although you have to be careful of course before you start adding some in as it can raise your BP!

Re the pram, my hubby wanted new and we had a nice healthy budget which is lucky but yea, defo know there are some banging deals when you look second hand. Sounds like you got a bargain there @pandapink!

The lightest city ones we saw yesterday were the Nuna Triv (gorgeous) and the baby zen yo yo (which my friend has and loves). Both I think can be taken on a plane as hand luggage they are that small

Welcome to the group @Whatthecrepe - yea this is a daily chat. Good news on everything settling down for you! X

Whatthecrepe · 02/03/2020 17:44

@steph I've not had cramps yet but omg restless legs for weeks now! Apparently magnesium oil works so I've sprayed some on at night and seems to help. Hurry up the next few months I'm shattered and need maternity leave lol 😣

GoldenKirst · 02/03/2020 17:48

@Whatthecrepe I am counting down the weeks to maternity leave!! I'm saving 2 weeks holiday just so I can finish earlier

@StephD2020 think I will mention it to the midwife when I next see them.

They are getting worse, started in just my left leg but now it's both! And had such a bad back when I left work today. Feeling much better now I'm back home Smile

18 weeks today and baby is the size of a grapefruit which the OH lovingly told me how huge he thought they were!!

heroineinahalfshell · 02/03/2020 18:46

We're also planning to get as much secondhand as possible - we live in a big city so there are absolutely loads of choices for prams on ebay. We put a bid in for John Lewis nursery furniture on ebay yesterday - wardrobe, cot bed and drawers/changing table for £150! (obviously we'd buy a new mattress for the cot). Trying not to buy too much before 20 weeks tho - i know it should all be fine but just don't want to jinx anything!

KittyKat2020 · 03/03/2020 12:10

Hi all :)

New here and due 19th August with my first baby!

Currently 15 weeks and 6 days.

Hating the wait till the 20 week scan feels like forever
