Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

@Macbless @blackpinkinyourarea @GoldenKirst me too, had it a few weeks after getting a bit of sciatica. Love it but bed looks awful made with it in so I hide it in day time and put it back in each night

Be warned if you have cats, it is heaven for them to sleep on with you, first night and I had both all night!!!

Had my 16 week midwife appointment today and she asked if we wanted to listen to the heartbeat. Of course said yes! It took her a while to find it (I was panicking a bit by the end) but then she did and it was amazing 😁😁😁

Don't have another midwife appointment till 28 weeks 😱 feels weird just being left to my own devices for three months!

MaisieMolly · 13/02/2020 13:38

@NamiSwan ahh that’s amazing! What else do they do at that appointment? I’m still a few weeks away from mine but wondering if I need to take DP along or not.

GoldenKirst · 13/02/2020 14:20

@NamiSwan would you recommend partner doing to it or is it a lot like the booking appointment?

Do you not have a 20 week scan booked? Or do you not count those as 'midwife' appointments?

My 16 week appointment is next Thursday so will be lovely to hear the heartbeat if they ask. Weirdly, they didn't play it out loud at my 12 week scan but I heard it at my private scan a week before.

Does anyone else have to do the blood glucose test? My mum is diabetic which is why they've recommended I have it

Firstmummytobe · 13/02/2020 14:36

I have my 16 week midwife app tomorrow, I have no idea what it entails!!! Has anybody else had theirs?

DanielleG96 · 13/02/2020 15:22

15+2 today FTM and I am sure I can feel the baby moving. Is anyone else feeling there baby move?

DanielleG96 · 13/02/2020 15:25

*their.

Macbless · 13/02/2020 19:07

@DanielleG96 I'm a FTM too and 16 weeks and I'm sure I can feel the baby moving too. I have a posterior placenta so the sonographer said I might feel it earlier then some women.

Exciting! But sometimes a little bit tender. I've also just had a UTI but that was a different dull ache really low down. So many different sensations...!

Macbless · 13/02/2020 19:08

@Firstmummytobe mine isn't until next week so don't know what it entails. Let us know what happens! X

A19C27 · 13/02/2020 21:42

Hi guys any nub theory experts??
I’m 12 weeks today due 27th aug - baby no.4! I’m so impatient already 😆

heroineinahalfshell · 13/02/2020 22:59

@NamiSwan I'm having a glucose test as my BMI puts me at risk of gestational diabetes. Not looking forward to it! I'm 14 weeks on Sat and don't have a 16w midwife appt booked, but I do have a quad test on the 3rd (they couldn't do the screening tests at my 12w scan), so maybe that's why? Also a first timer so it's all new to me!

NamiSwan · 13/02/2020 23:14

@maisiemolly the appointment itself was quite brief, the midwife checked my urine, discussed my bloods from my booking in (iron levels etc), took my pulse and oxygen saturation levels and then my blood pressure.

@goldenkirst I do have a 20 week scan appt booked yes, but I dont count it as a midwife appointment ad in my experience it's really just a check on the baby and not me or how I'm getting on, no opportunity to ask for any advice etc. It just seems mad that I won't see my midwife for three months now but I guess giving I have an uncomplicated pregnancy and it's my third, it makes sense as I probably don't need much support.

@danielleg96 I'm 16 weeks today and think I felt the baby move for the first time. Very exciting!!

Firstmummytobe · 14/02/2020 07:41

@A19C27 I’m going to guess a little girl🙈 the nub looks asif it is pointing sort of parallel to the spine don’t you think? Xxx

StephD2020 · 16/02/2020 07:36

Hey guys hope everyone is doing well! I'm back from my ski trip now and think that might be the last one for me this season - definitely slowed up and was too tired to ski until last lifts which is unlike me. Also I was a good 10 mph slower than usual on avg so must have been subconsciously more cautious!

I also have the Queen rose pillow in plush grey that @macbless posted and I have to say it's amazing. Definitely helps me get comfy in the evenings when watching TV!

For those wanting maternity clothes tips, the jeans from river island are amazing. I'm 5ft 4 so length is normally a problem but they are just perfect so it would defo recommend. As for leggings I tried the H&M maternity but they had an uncomfortable seam under bump so I went for a two pack from new look for £15 and they are amazing! But I went with the H&M sports leggings for the gym - so comfortable on my tummy but still nice and firm on my legs and 100% squat proof! Let me know if you want any links and I'll post here.

So I'm 16 weeks today. Going to start photographing the bump from today I think - will be interesting to watch it grow. Still feeling nothing more than just a bit fat but there's defo a baby in there so need to relax about that!

Anyone else a first timer and feeling flutters yet? I've not felt anything except for stretching pains so far, usually in the morning or after I've been sat crunched up for a while. I'm guessing baby must be long and having a stretch - unsurprising as hubby is 6ft 1! X

StephD2020 · 16/02/2020 07:38

@A19C27 I'd defo say girl based on the theory! Agree with @Firstmummytobe looks horizontal to me! Are you hoping for blue or pink?

A19C27 · 16/02/2020 09:56

I really would be happy either way. I already have three daughters but my youngest is 6 so I do feel like I’m starting over completely i think it looks like a girl too how ever I have been told it was abit early as I’m 11+5 there and it’s only really accurate past 12 weeks so I’m thinking I’ll have to be patient

MaisieMolly · 16/02/2020 10:53

I think I’ve been feeling the baby! I’m 15w3 so it might be a bit early but it’s been when I’ve been lying down in the morning before getting up, it kind of feels lime a nibbling or twitching. It might just be muscles or gas though! I am also getting round ligament pains / stretching pains @StephD2020 when I try to sit up from bed or turn over in the night!

For those that have bought maternity clothes but don’t actually have a bump yet, how do they stay up? My normal jeans are quite uncomfortable now but I don’t have a bump, just bloat / flab... which will hopefully turn into a bump soon!

StephD2020 · 16/02/2020 11:28

@MaisieMolly I wouldn't say I have an official bump yet, like you I just look a bit bloated with a few extra lbs but the river island jeans and mat leggings stay up just fine. Defo room to stretch quite far too so I don't think I'll have to buy new for a while 😃

GoldenKirst · 16/02/2020 13:00

@StephD2020 We had to skip the skiing this year Sad had a nasty fall last Feb, broke my leg quite badly and ended up spending most of the week in hospital 2 hours from the resort! Did you find yourself being more cautious in case of falling/being knocked into?

Think we will skip next year too, wouldn't want to leave baby in the crèche that young.

I got some lovely maternity jeans from asos and they fit really nice. Might keep wearing them even after Grin

OH is 6ft 4 and I think baby will be/already is 'longer' as definitely lots of stretching and rib pain this last week.

16 weeks tomorrow! Not sure why but it feels like a milestone?

Firstmummytobe · 16/02/2020 15:08

I’m 16+2 and this is my bump🙈🙈
I think I’m quite big but you tend to have a bigger bump with boys and I’m having a boy.
I’m also very petite so I’ve sort of just popped🥰
Has anybody else popped yet? X

Firstmummytobe · 16/02/2020 15:08

X
