Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

Scan!!!! Not skin lol

LoloFuentes · 07/02/2020 08:22

Hi all quick question how soon can you start buying baby stuff? I’m not superstitious or anything , I’m so tempted but I’m only 10+5. The only thing probably stopping me is that we have to do up spare bedroom into baby’s room. Smile

EL1984 · 07/02/2020 17:37

Congrats on everyone's scans! I've now told a lot of my friends, family and have told my manager at work which went really well.

@LoloFuentes I know how you feel, I'm looking at all the things to buy too! Though we are renovating our flat in April & May and will need to move out for about 2 months so I'll somehow need to wait until June to get anything Shock
I have also had a couple of friends say they have bits that I can have so you might want to wait and see if you have anything given to you?
Xx

Can anyone recommend somewhere for maternity leggings? Mr normal leggings are getting a bit tight Confused

Nellie3 · 09/02/2020 08:54

@GoldenKirst I ordered some from ASOS yesterday after hearing good things. They aren't the cheapest ones they do but the 'premium' range and were £12.

It seems weird buying maternity stuff, I got a couple of basics yesterday as I'm running out of clothing options already even though I'm not showing. Anyone else brought anything? Xx

Firstmummytobe · 09/02/2020 09:36

I’m 15+2 today and I’ve had to buy lots of maternity clothes.
I have a very visible bump however I was a size 4/6 before getting pregnant so midwife says this is completely normal! I’ve found that most brands do not sell maternity in store, and stock more on line.

16 week gp appointment booked for next Friday. 16 weeks = 4 months and that is so scary but so exciting 😍😍😍

Anybody else reaching the 4 month mark next week?
Hope everyone is well 😊

MaisieMolly · 09/02/2020 10:16

I’m 14 and a half weeks and defo showing! Not fitting in to many of my normal clothes. Was a size 12 before, but those are really uncomfortable around the waist. how do maternity clothes stay up? What if I buy them and they’re too huge as it’s not a big bump yet!! Going to have to try soon as can’t keep wearing the same 2 things every day Grin

PandaPink · 09/02/2020 10:44

@Firstmummytobe I'm 15+1 and not showing at all intact I've not felt this slim in a long time Grin Think I'll be fine with my regular clothes for a long time yet.

GoldenKirst · 09/02/2020 11:00

@Nellie3 that's where I've been looking, think I will just bite the bullet and order them.

@Firstmummytobe I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow and definitely have a little bump. I lost about 8 kilos in the first trimester just from struggling with food aversion so was about a size 10

16 week appointment at the GP on the 27th when I'll be 17+3. Might try and change it for the week before.

Does anyone have any 'babymoons' booked?

NamiSwan · 09/02/2020 12:37

@firstmummytobe I'm 16 weeks on Thursday!

I'm definitely showing now - a school mum asked me if I was pregnant this week as I was waiting to pick up my eldest 🙈 people in work giving me slightly funny looks. I've got a meeting with my boss tomorrow about something unrelated, so might just come clean. It feels early to tell work at 15 weeks but its just getting so obvious now 🤣

PandaPink · 09/02/2020 15:06

@GoldenKirst I'm going to Tenerife in 39 days lol I will need to inject fragmin before each flight to prevent blood clots as I'm high risk but sooo looking forward to making up for not being able to eat right for the past 14 weeks!!

heroineinahalfshell · 09/02/2020 19:59

I've not bought anything maternity yet but have bought some "oversized" shirt dresses as my regular work clothes are getting tight/making me look preggo (unfortunately at the moment its not a bump, just fat!)
I'm 12 weeks and noone has mentioned needing a 16 week GP appt, is this something I should book?
@GoldenKirst we've booked to go to Italy in the first week of June (so I'll be 30 weeks). It's somewhere we've been before and I'm so looking forward to a chilled week eating good food!

NamiSwan · 10/02/2020 17:43

I bought some maternity leggings from loveleggings.com and they are the BEST, really thick and comfy. They're on the slightly pricier side (£15) but worth every penny in my book.

Told my boss today I was pregnant, he seemed a bit bemused as to why I was telling him but I said well I'm pretty obviously showing now so didn't see the point in not saying anything. Also told two of my colleagues both who said to me they'd guessed! My massive baby bump giving me away 😅🙈

Girlinglasses · 10/02/2020 18:22

Question about sleeping! I am very firmly a back/tummy sleeper, but I know I'm supposed to be sleeping on my side (and preferably left side). I'm finding it really difficult as I wake up after a few hours with bad pains in my hip from lying on it. I have a glorious pregnancy pillow which has helped me to stop rolling over, but isn't really helping with the pain- any advice?

GoldenKirst · 10/02/2020 18:44

@Girlinglasses don't have any advice but I'm having the same problem. My left hip and leg are painful and it wakes me up, think I will mention it to the midwife next week.

The pain lasts all day too so I'm thinking baby is laying on a nerve or something Hmm

Girlinglasses · 10/02/2020 19:08

Owch that sounds awful! Mine isn't that bad- it goes away after a while once I move positions- but I'm already dreading trying to sleep on my side for six months. I have some sort of chronic pain thing - possibly fibromyalgia although my doc still hasn't gotten to an official diagnosis- but all I know is staying in one position for even an hour causes me pain so I can't imagine sleeping on my side until I give birth 😭 although I've just been reading that apparently I can sleep on my tummy until it becomes too uncomfortable so hopefully I might get another month or two out of that!

Bellsx · 11/02/2020 13:58

Hope you don't mind me joining. From going through 1 MC and 3 MMC we finally have our sticky little miracle 💗 We had our 12 week scan yesterday and saw a very happy baby with a good heartbeat and I was put at 12+4 so due 20th August. Congratulations to all you other ladies who have got positive BFP's and have had perfect scans and I keep everything crossed for happy and healthy pregnancies.

blackpinkinyourarea · 11/02/2020 14:09

@Macbless how are you getting on with your pregnancy pillow? I've been looking into buying one but a bit flummoxed by all the different ones available, so would be interested to hear more about yours!
@GoldenKirst i have just bought several different pairs of maternity leggings from New Look. All very reasonably priced. Will let you know if theyre any good!
@bellsx congratulations to you! wishing you a very healthy and happy pregnancy also Smile

I have booked a gender scan for the end of next week which i am sooo beyond excited for Grin

Macbless · 11/02/2020 19:58

@blackpinkinyourarea
QUEEN ROSE Full Body Pregnancy... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B079JG1HCK?ref=ppxpopmobapshare

This is the pillow I've got. I looked at the dreamgenii but my friend said that her's had got quite flat and also to move from side to side was a real pain. The Queen rose seems good overall. I'm still sleeping on my front a bit but managing to sleep on my left for the first time ever really. It is quite big tho! Sometimes the back section falls off the side of the bed but it is very supportive and I like having it between my legs to keep my pelvis straight.

Hope that helps xx

GoldenKirst · 12/02/2020 14:19

@Macbless @blackpinkinyourarea this is the pillow I have too, definitely recommend!!

Thanks for the legging shouts, I'll have a look around. It's so frustrating that most shops don't have maternity departments in store and so you just have to guess online Confused
