Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

On another point, anyone been trying to guess girl or boy since the scan? I've been reading about the nub theory but I just can't decide one way or the other based on the scan!! I think my husband will be devastated if it's a girl 🤣🤣🤣

Babykent2019 · 03/02/2020 11:01

I have my scan tomorrow. I'm so scared I could cry. (Had a MMC last year in June) and I'm in full panic mode now- really hope little rainbow 🌈 is wiggling around and healthy.
I saw a heartbeat at 6.5 weeks so hoping all is well and have no bleeding or reason to think otherwise, apart from boobs have stopped hurting.
Currently off work with a cold. My gag reflexes have been in full swing this weekend so hoping this is a good sign.
Good luck ladies ... hopefully we'll all be able to relax over the next few weeks x

Babykent2019 · 03/02/2020 11:02

@StephD2020 I'm guessing girl and haven't even had my scan yet 😂

StephD2020 · 03/02/2020 14:13

Hahahaha!! @Babykent2019 that's so funny. My husband is the same, keeps referring to 'him' although I'm not gonna lie, I have a feeling that there's more oestrogen than testosterone running around in there....

Will find out in 6 weeks I suppose!! X

GoldenKirst · 03/02/2020 14:16

@StephD2020 me and my boyfriend keep saying he when we are talking about the baby but don't know yet. My gut feeling is boy and everyone else feels the same. Will most definitely be a girl Hmm

Need to ring tomorrow to book my 20 week scan but not sure I can wait until mid March to find out!!

MaisieMolly · 03/02/2020 14:52

Hope whoever has scans today and this week are feeling ok and that it’s positive news all around. Let us know!

How’s everyone doing on the bump/bloat front? Anyone bought any maternity clothes yet?? Some of my trousers and jeans are starting to get a bit uncomfortable (I’m 13.5weeks) but surely maternity jeans would still be massive on me?! Not really sure when to start looking or buying. It still doesn’t feel real and I still don’t even want to get too excited in case something goes wrong!!

Firstmummytobe · 03/02/2020 16:24

My poor cousin lost her baby at 7 and a half months today, so heartbreaking and scary it’s actually put me off going for my scan tomorrow and I’m so on edge in case anything has happened, it’s such a horrible world 💔💔

LTofBR3 · 03/02/2020 17:44

Hi everyone! We had our 12 week scan today - I was quite apprehensive as it's our first but thankfully everything was absolutely fine! I had to do a few star jumps and go for a walk as the baby wasn't being particularly cooperative at first but was amazing to hear the heartbeat. They also told us the likely sex which funnily enough corresponded with what we'd thought it might be!
Best wishes to everyone that still has there's to come x

LTofBR3 · 03/02/2020 17:46

@Firstmummytobe Oh that is awful news - am so sorry x

Nellie3 · 03/02/2020 18:42

Hi everyone, haven't posted for a while but have been enjoying your updates. It's great to hear from people on similar situations.

Had my 12 week scan last week which was so surreal and such a relief. Crazy to think there's a tiny baby wriggling around in there and you can't even feel it.

@Firstmummytobe that's awful news, I guess all we can do is assume all is well unless we know otherwise. Hope you're holding up ok, must be a very difficult situation for your family.

@Maisymolly I know what you mean about clothes being tighter, I got so new work trousers at the weekend that aren't maternity but just have a stretchy waist rather than a button and zip and it was SUCH a relief to wear them today, didn't realise how much the other ones were bothering me.

Has anyone had any conversations with work about risk assessments, leave etc? I'm not sure what the procedure/timings for all of it would be and I was looking for a maternity policy at work today but couldn't find anything. I suppose I will have to approach them (they know I'm pregnant already though) but it feels awkward for some reason.

berrynice16 · 03/02/2020 19:38

Scan went really well, they have moved my due date to 12th August which is very exciting and compared to the private early scan where baby was spot on for dates based on my LMP I was a bit shocked but in a good way! Hope everyone else scans go well, roll on the next one although I am convinced this one is a boy!

Jojo19834 · 03/02/2020 20:03

Sorry been a way for a bit, some good scan results which is good, some not so and then poor @Firstmummytobe your cousin must be in bits, I couldn’t imagine how I would cope. Life is cruel sometimes.

Good to catch up on everyone’s progress :-)

Re maternity clothes, I’m all over them! But mainly on the bottom front as I cannot wait to wear maternity jeans and leggings!! Think I may wear them after too ;-) I hate anything with a tight waistband, plus my waist is definitely bigger and it’s not all bloat I’m sure!

How’s everyone else’s bumps coming along?

Not posted for a while but keep reading all the comments lovely to see all the beautiful baby scans. Still got a whole week to wait for mine will be 14 weeks by then. Feels like been waiting forever to see my little baba, so nervous and excited all at the same time

Seasidegirl11 · 04/02/2020 07:24

I had a definite bump now! Has popped the last couple of days (14 weeks now). I’m still hiding with floaty dresses but give it another week or two and I will start showing it off! Going to order some maternity leggings today :)

NamiSwan · 04/02/2020 10:10

My bump is massive now, I popped a couple of weeks ago and am now just huge. Unfortunately I am fairly sure that despite being only 14+5 I already have stomach separation 😭 I did with my previous pregnancies. I had managed to get my gap to 1cm but checked this morning and in the space of two weeks it has gone to 3cm 😱 I'm pretty gutted to be honest as I had done so much work on my core over the past couple of years and it all seems to have been for nothing. Am going to book my self an appointment with a pregnancy physio to see if anything can be done.

I haven't told work yet but am not going to be able to hide bump with a baggy jumper for much longer. I have a meeting with my boss on monday (for something unrelated) and will probably tell him then.

Firstmummytobe · 04/02/2020 11:38

So just been for my gender scan, all went well and little wriggler is doing amazing😍😍😍

Leaving it as a surprise as doing a cannon reveal with my family tonight super excited to find out 👶🏼🙈

GoldenKirst · 04/02/2020 14:18

I definitely look like I've either had a big meal, or I'm pregnant... most people have a second glance.

Booked my 20 week scan today so that's on 18th March!! Can I wait that long to find out?

Moved back in to my pre weight loss leggings and might treat myself to some maternity leggings. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Firstmummytobe · 05/02/2020 08:06

So I’ve been blessed with a baby boy💙
Words can’t describe this feeling we are all so lucky xxx

MaisieMolly · 05/02/2020 10:58

@Firstmummytobe awwww a baby boy! Congratulations! 💙 How was the canon reveal, were your family very excited?? Does it feel more real now? I am still not really believing there’s something in there, I don’t feel any different!

Telling our news has been going well, it’s fun to see people’s faces and hear all the congratulations! We don’t know yet if it’s a boy or girl, everyone has been asking though. I think we will wait until the 20 weeks scan for that.

Firstmummytobe · 05/02/2020 13:05

Thankyou very much, it was so nice but I’ve known it was a boy all along deep down🙈🙈 it’s a crazy feeling but I can’t wait to start buying blue blue blue 😍

Jojo19834 · 05/02/2020 17:31

@Firstmummytobe I find baby boy clothes soooooo cute so have fun!

heroineinahalfshell · 05/02/2020 18:54

12 week scan today, it was amazing. Bun was being obstinate and refused to move into the right position for measurements, so i have to go back in a month for the quad test. But (s)he was moving around like crazy, we saw arms waving and tiny little feet - with toes! And a really strong little heartbeat. Been so exciting to start telling people, and feels real now!
I have a raft of appointments coming up, as well as the quad I've got the glucose test cos of my BMI, anti-d injection cos I'm rhesus neg, and a consultant appointment (mild heart murmur so need to be checked). Work are gonna love me!!!

blake87 · 05/02/2020 21:53

I'm due August 8th with my first baby (and this is my first Mumsnet post!)
