Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

@Firstmummytobe 🤣 but good luck tomorrow. I’m having my NIPT scan tomorrow, so excited, how are you feeling? My 12 week is on Wednesday but decided not to delay Monday as it would mean I would still be worrying for a few more weeks.

@StephD2020 I’ve had the flu jab, whooping cough I assume so when time comes but what reasons are there not to?

@StephD2020 I had the flu vac in October. I felt fine afterwards and although I've had a cold I've not had flu. I'll be having the whooping cough vac too.

@Firstmummytobe hope tomorrow goes really well. How exciting. Hope everyone else's goes well too. My 12 week scan is on Friday! Literally counting down the days! Feel like it's been so long since I got that positive pregnancy test xx

StephD2020 · 19/01/2020 21:31

I suppose I don't really feel the need.... I've never had a childhood illness and rarely get sick (I'm never off sick as I'm self employed!) so I just feel like it might be a bit pointless?

I've heard that the flu jab often makes you feel really rough once you've had it? As for the whooping cough jab, I'd just kind of put it in the same box as the flu jab?

Not fully decided yet and it's a joint decision - need to make sure me and hubby agree!

Do you get invited for it or do you have to go and book it in somewhere?

MaisieMolly · 19/01/2020 22:11

@Firstmummytobe hope it goes well tomorrow!

@StephD2020 I’ve had the flu jab already and will also have the whooping cough one when the time comes. I think it’s at one of the later midwife appointments. Although I’m also rarely ill, I know that babies have much weaker immune systems. The whooping cough vaccine is given to you to protect the baby when it’s born, rather than to protect you from it, if you see what I mean. I didn’t have any side effects from the flu jab and having had flu once as a child, it was a big deal - 3 weeks off school in bed - which I can’t imagine would be good whilst pregnant.

Jojo19834 · 20/01/2020 06:00

@StephD2020 re flu you need to arrange, expect whooping cough they will remind us at the time. I’m rarely ill too and generally have no time off work but I know we get weaker immune systems in pregnancy and baby obviously is completely different so I went for it. I also commute on the train for nearly 4 hours a day and those things are germy! You may be different as you say. Plus my nieces and nephews are germ sharers so another reason I thought

Got my booking in appointment this morning 11 weeks today but think I could be a few days further on then that as ovulate early. Can’t wait to get a scan date and see this little one, feel like it’s all been a very long wait. Hopefully scan might be next week.

Firstmummytobe · 20/01/2020 08:59

Did anybody else just get given a piece of paper at their biking appointment with a date for their scan? I did!!

Thankyou everyone! I’ll share piccys🥰

sezzywoowoo21 · 20/01/2020 09:30

@firstmummytobe ohhhh I bet you so excited for today can’t wait for mine gotta wait till the 28th n I’ll be 13weeks then 😏 I had to wait for scan date to be posted which took 3days strange u had yours at booking in appointment x

PandaPink · 20/01/2020 09:54

Oh exciting @Firstmummytobe! Can't wait to see a pic!
My dating is on Thursday this week soo nervous even though I seen baby at 9 wks 6 days (they dated me as 10 wks 2 days).

I have just had my cereal and milk which promptly ended up in the toilet pan! I seem to get a break at the weekends but they weekdays the nausea is back!

@StephD2020 there is no active flu in the vaccine it is a synthetic version of the flu that is injected, it takes about 10-14 days for the vacinne to take effect and unfortunately those who feel crappy afterwords have caught something in that 10 to 14 days or just before getting the jab. A lot of people confuse the cold with the flu which is quite scary as the flu can kill worse case scenario and the cold is a lot more mild in comparison. Sorry just realised I sound like I'm scaremongering!!
As long as your given all the information by the midwife before you make an informed choice. X

Dollywilde · 20/01/2020 10:38

@StephD2020 I'd definitely go for the flu jab - I'm hardly ever ill but I had proper flu once, 5 years ago, and it was absolute hell. Can't imagine feeling like that with the pregnancy on top. I actually had a flu jab during the TWW before my BFP and all was fine Smile

Getting into the home straight for the first trimester now! Mild nausea/boob pain/back pain all still present but my state of mind is so much better. I'm still knackered but I'm feeling a little less murderous hormonal and a lot sunnier (DH noticed and has commented positively!!) Got blood tests on Thursday - I don't know if this is different because I've self referred to the hospital rather than gone through my GP? - and then a week on Thursday at 12 weeks exactly is my scan. Already saw fluttery heartbeat at 8 weeks thanks to private scan but so looking forward to this one. On the one hand I'm nervous (fear of MMC ever present in my mind) but I've felt like I'm in limbo for the past 2 months and at least once scan on the 30th is done then there's some semblance of moving forward.

Fingers crossed for everyone with upcoming scans and booking in appts!

StephD2020 · 20/01/2020 11:05

Thanks for your comments everyone, very helpful! You'll be pleased to know I've got a appointment for a flu jab Wednesday morning 😃👍🏻

PandaPink · 20/01/2020 19:42

@Firstmummytobe how did it go today?? X

OBaby1 · 20/01/2020 19:56

Hi Everyone! I’ve been following this post for a while now, I am 9 weeks with our first baby! Looking for advice and reassurance, I have been sick everyday since finding out early at 5 weeks. I have had all pregnancy symptoms from the start, very emotional, tired, sore breasts and currently suffering with a real bad back as well as stomach pains. Is it normal for symptoms to start so early?! My countdown is on until my scan on 14th February hoping I’ll feel much better by then as I really want to enjoy my pregnancy!

heroineinahalfshell · 20/01/2020 20:20

I'm jealous of all you getting your scan appointments - I had my booking in last monday and still no sign of my appointment letter for the scan! Got a manic few weeks at work too so I really need to know if i've got to rearrange stuff!!

Firstmummytobe · 20/01/2020 20:51

Baby is fine!! Measuring 12 weeks 3 days, due date 31st July, so not actually having an august baby 🙈😂

If anybody can notice, babe was sucking it’s thumb on the scan😭😍❤️

Find out the gender on the 4th feb!!!

heroineinahalfshell · 20/01/2020 21:48

Omigosh @firstmummytobe that scan pic is amazing! A proper little baby!

I shouldn't have moaned, got home and my appointment letter was in the post! Scan is on 5th Feb, when I'll be 12+4. It's also my dad's 80th Grin I can't wait!!

MaisieMolly · 20/01/2020 21:57

Congratulations @Firstmummytobe what a gorge photo!
What scan is it on 4 Feb, a private one?

annie1994 · 20/01/2020 22:17

Hello,
Hope everyone’s well. I know it’s a bit TMI but is anyone suffering from diarrhoea? I’m 8+1 and this is my first ever pregnancy. I keep reading that normally pregnant women have constipation but I seem to have gone the other way 🤔 I wondered if it was the pregnacare vitamins so changed brand to Seven Seas but not much improvement. This on top of the morning sickness is making eating and drinking really hard work and worrying about baby getting all the nutrients they need!! I’ve got my first midwife appointment on Thursday

Firstmummytobe · 21/01/2020 07:45

Yeah a private one!!

MaisieMolly · 21/01/2020 10:45

I’ve discovered a weird new symptom in the cold weather. My nipples are really sore when it’s cold and I go outside! Lol! Blush hurry up Spring!

PandaPink · 21/01/2020 13:55

Haha @MaisieMolly. I think mines are showing through my clothes most of the time!

Well I've puked twice into a bin at work today! It'll ease off by week 12 they said....I think not!

Macbless · 21/01/2020 21:06

@MaisieMolly my nipples are so erect! They are getting darker too. But not sore when cold...more slightly tender the whole time!

@PandaPink sorry to hear that you're still vomiting. I was just talking to my sister, she vomited loads with all three of her children with the last she stopped at 34 weeks and started again at 36 weeks. Hope you don't have anything like that!!

Macbless · 21/01/2020 21:10

I think I'm starting to get a little bit of a bump. Had been feeling really worried about miscarriage but strangely feeling less worried now it's getting closer. My scan is on Friday. I'm glad I'm feeling less anxious but then also worried that I'm not prepared if something is wrong! Hard to get the right balance.

MaisieMolly · 21/01/2020 21:19

@Macbless I feel like I’m getting a bump too, although it’s flabby rather than hard! I’ve had to go up a size in trousers though. My scan is on Thursday and I’m struggling with the balance too, trying not to get ahead of myself and get excited.

Macbless · 21/01/2020 22:30

@MaisieMolly my bump definitely seems larger at the end of the day so not sure if it's just bloat! 🤣
