Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

Jono how much was the NIPT ? Harmony?

Realladymarmalade · 16/01/2020 20:40

@Realladymarmalade I’m having NIPT and the normal difference to Harmony (for an amateur) is the sexing of the baby. Harmony when I was looking was £450 but there was a place that did NIPT and sexing for £400 so I have gone for that. It’s a lot but I would like to know. The NHS test is based on probability but I just thought based on age and BMI I may be higher risk instantly than I would like so let’s just know. Honestly don’t know what I would do with the info if it came back as positive but at least I can be informed and go from there. I know there are so many other hurdles we have to go through and this is just one.

Just had the most almighty stabbing pain as I got out of bed. Putting it down to round ligament as it was a stabbing pain and has gone. Have had it a few times when rolling in the night but this was stronger. I’ll work on it being a good sign as things have progressed but tell me if I should be worried please

I've not had to pay for an early scan just ring the early pregnancy unit and give them some information and they booked me in. It just seems quite expensive. The unit where I am is fab. They will see you more than once to reassure you x

Nellie3 · 17/01/2020 07:42

@NamiSwan my EDD is 4th August and also have to wait until the 28tg for the scan, seems so far still doesn't it!

I also swear my belly has popped a bit, my tummy is quite squishy anyway but when I put my hand on my lower belly and push it feels harder. Might be imagining it. One of my pairs of work trousers are very tight to do up now so have stopped wearing them. People who have been pregnant before, how far along were you when you started buying matetnity clothes? I feel like I'm already happiest in leggings 😅 xxx

GYNisaliarWTF · 17/01/2020 07:50

Morning ladies, very new to MN as this is my first pregnancy ever! 11+1 today and not feeling v pregnant at all.

Read through the thread & so excited for you all, isn’t it crazy how happy you feel for ten minutes then have a break down over cereals Grin

Just read this on my BabyCentre app today @jojo19834 - sounds like you have nothing to worry about. Hey

Relaxin can cause the ligaments that support your womb to stretch more easily too, causing painful twinges, especially on your right-hand side. Relaxing in a warm bath may ease any discomfort.

heroineinahalfshell · 17/01/2020 13:28

@Jojo19834 i've been having stabbing pain on and off which I reckkn is linked to ligament stretching. I'm taking it as a good sign!

Lovely photos. Making me excited for my scan next Friday! Xx

Ravecat · 17/01/2020 15:50

@KirstieC we've got the same EDD! Congratulations, thats a lovely picture! ❤️

KirstieC · 17/01/2020 16:00

@Ravecat thank you 😊

KirstieC · 17/01/2020 16:32

Quick question... what day do my weeks switch over? I'm thinking it's Monday's now?

My NHS scan is booked for the 30th and I want to make sure it's within the timeframe for the Nuchal screening, which I'm pretty sure it still it (just)

Jojo19834 · 17/01/2020 16:54

@KirstieC beautiful pic, it’s like a real baby! Re switch, Sunday by my reckoning. Tomorrow will be 11+6 and 12 will be Sunday. Mines Tuesday and I’m 4/08 at present

I’m 12 weeks today🙈🙈😍

KirstieC · 17/01/2020 18:03

@Jojo19834 thank you, I know we both couldn't believe how obvious all the features were! We have a video with the whole scan on and at one point both legs and arms are sticking straight up like they are doing a big stretch 😂

Jojo19834 · 17/01/2020 18:09

@Firstmummytobe 12 weeks!!!! Feels like forever since we were all 4 weeks. When is your scan? Mines Wednesday when I’m 12+1 (my NIPT is Monday just in case people think I’m inconsistent lol)

@KirstieC I didn’t get it from my 9 week scan but wish I had, the picture I got was ok but miles from what I saw on the day. Think I read that they start touching their face around now which is so cute!!! My sister has a 12 week baby model that you can hold which replicates size and weight, made it real and quite impressive what has happened from a single cell less than 12 weeks ago

Can’t believe how far we all have come hitting are nearly 12week mark and some of u who already are it’s truly amazing even tho this is bby no5 lol...I’m 12 weeks on Wednesday and sooooo can’t wait for scan which is 28th jan 😬 @KirstieC what a beautiful scan picture ❤️

Firstmummytobe · 18/01/2020 09:29

My scan is on Monday, two little days when I’ll be 12+3 I can’t wait to see wriggler😍

How crazy is it to think, I found out straight away as my first weeks test said 2-3 weeks, that means I have known nearly 10 weeks that’s basically 2 and a half months 🥺🥺

My mum is so excited she bought me this😭😭😭

KirstieC · 18/01/2020 10:04

@Firstmummytobe my mum has been buying too! We are waiting to know what gender is first Smile

MaisieMolly · 19/01/2020 16:38

Ahh too cute those of you whose mums have been buying for your baby already!

I’m still way too superstitious, I’m not sure when I’ll really believe it. Maybe the 12 week scan on Thursday will help. Hopefully then I can relax and enjoy it a bit more.

It’s crazy that I’ve known for about 7 weeks but it feels like forever already ha ha.

How is everyone doing this weekend? X

Firstmummytobe · 19/01/2020 18:02

I’ve been really good this weekend!! Full of beans which is strange because I’ve been so drained😩
Only 4/5 more days and I’ll be at the start of my second trimester time is flying by!!!

I don’t think I will sleep tonight as far too much excitement for my satin scan tomorrow😍😍

How is everybody else doing? X

StephD2020 · 19/01/2020 19:36

Exciting times @Firstmummytobe !! What's a satin scan? Mine is still about a year away 😫

So here's a question for you all - who is having the flu/whooping cough jab? I'm not sure I want to have it but my other half wants me to.....

Firstmummytobe · 19/01/2020 19:42

Dating* that silly auto-correct 😂🙈

Girlinglasses · 19/01/2020 20:06

@Firstmummytobe that's so exciting, sending you lots of positive vibes for tomorrow 😍 mine is still nearly 2 weeks away but I'll be 13 weeks by then!

@StephD2020 I had the flu jab at about 5 weeks, and will definitely be getting the whooping cough jab - my sis had whooping cough when she was about 15 and it was horrific, I can't imagine it for a new born! Why might you not, if you don't mind me asking? To be fair at this stage flu season is nearly over so you might not need that one?
