Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

Aarrghhhhh the talk of scans is so exciting!!! I’m like a child waiting for the postman everyday to see if my date has come through. Hurry up!! Congratulations @Ravecat on the scan and EDD, must feel so real now?

@MaisieMolly Thank you for the welcome. Feels quite weird to be one of the first here to have my scan. I suppose with an EDD of 2nd Aug I shouldn't be surprised, haha. Just barely in the month! It was honestly the best, I was a little bit anxious last night as well. I'll have my fingers crossed that the days up until your scan, fly by for you!

@Jojo19834 it was so surreal in the best way and I can't wait to start buying baby things. I remember when I had my first two appointments with my MW, I was subtly trying to find out: how long until I'll receive my scan date, how long until that scan date, why can't it be quicker? I felt like I had already waited AT LEAST a year at that point! Grin I hope it comes through soon, then you can start the countdown!

Louisaizzy · 15/01/2020 20:08

Going back to the lack of symptoms convo..I’m in the same boat... FYI my symptoms tailed off about 8-9 weeks.
I was v nauseous and sick a few times but it only lasted from 6-8/9 weeks. I had a scan at 7wks4day saw heartbeat etc but I’m going for another tomorrow and I will be 10wk1day for reassurance. I’ve scared myself reading all the forums about missed miscarriages! I’ve mentally banned myself from doing it now otherwise all these private reassurance scans are going to add up! 12wk scan booked for 3rd Feb! Ughhh it’s ages away!!

Realladymarmalade · 15/01/2020 22:55

Panda pink I'm in Scotland too , booking appt next week. I was wondering about aspirin too as I am older. My other half works away and I'd like to book a scan but we never know when he's coming back because of his ad hoc shift pattern. I'd like him to be there but equally cabt wait another 2 weeks !

Realladymarmalade · 15/01/2020 22:57

Symptoms.

No nausea but eating like the hungry Caterpillar, got 2 huge spots , sore back and constipated with black poo. Forgot how much I'm not a fan of pregnancy !

DanielleG96 · 16/01/2020 07:55

I'm 11-2 today, anyone else really noticing the bottom of their stomach is bigger. I feel like I'm getting a little bump and honestly I'm so happy about it!

heroineinahalfshell · 16/01/2020 08:45

I'm 9+5, and symptom-wise my nausea has tailed off a lot in the past week or so - it was all day, every day weeks 5-8 but now it's just a little in the morning when i wake up. Eating a lot and starting to get some spots/backache.
Had my booking in appt on Monday which was reassuring. Just waiting for the scan date now which like you guys I'm very impatient for!
I'm being referred to an obstetrics consultant as I had a colposcopy & cryo procedure 12 years ago... MW seemed to think it would be fine but they will tell me if I need to be in hospital for the birth. Anyone else had this?

heroineinahalfshell · 16/01/2020 08:47

Oh and also on symptoms, my boobs are so huge and firm/heavy, keep having to size up in M&S crop tops as can't handle underwire at the moment!

Realladymarmalade · 16/01/2020 09:24

Heroine I've not heard of that. I've had cryo procedures about 12 years sho or more. Was never mentioned as a thing in my previous 2 births, though I came under consultant care for other reasons (palpitations , antenatal depression with my 2nd), and assume I will for this.one as I'm older.

DanielleG96 · 16/01/2020 10:13

Just had my scan through the post. I ran to the door like a child at Christmas! Counting down the days until 23rd when we get to see our little baby again when I'll be 12+2 Grin

MaisieMolly · 16/01/2020 10:34

@DanielleG96 same date as mine, not long to go now!

I’ve also noticed the bottom of my stomach looking a bit bigger although it’s squishy not firm so might just be too much chocolate Grin

NamiSwan · 16/01/2020 13:19

Jealous of everyone with scans next week! Despite being one of the earliest due dates here (3rd Aug), I dont have my scan till I'm 13 weeks, so 27th January 😭 feels so long away!!

@danielleg96 my tummy is definitely rounding. I took a bump pic at 9 weeks and 11 weeks and the difference is massive 😳 not sure how much of it is overeating but some of it is definitely baby!

I'm really struggling at work with hiding the pregnancy, feel like I am lying to everyone (because I am 😂). Once my scan is done I will tell myself boss etc., assuming all is well.

Nausea eased off last week and though it is not as bad as at 8/9 weeks it has crept back into my life the past few days. Seems to get worse when I eat a large meal. Just went out for lunch at work and now sat at my desk feeling utterly rubbish and sick 😭😭😭

DanielleG96 · 16/01/2020 14:12

@NamiSwan I'm 1 day behind you :) the midwife did say that the dating scan can be anywhere between 12-14 weeks. I'm sure yours will come round quickly!

Ravecat · 16/01/2020 17:00

@NamiSwan my EDD is one day before yours! The wait for scans is so long and slow, I hope time speeds by for you!

Louisaizzy · 16/01/2020 17:47

Hi just to update, if anyone’s interested-I had private scan measuring 10wks 1day saw heartbeat and all’s well. Phew!
The reason I went was because my nausea suddenly stopped at 8wks3days so was worried as read loss of symptoms may indicate missed m/c plus thought it was a bit early for nausea to suddenly stop. At least I can now consider myself lucky x

StephD2020 · 16/01/2020 18:26

@DanielleG96 yup I'm starting to notice my lower stomach popping, especially in the evening but much like @NamiSwan and @maisiemolly I'm worried it's more to do with the overeating on my honeymoon and over Christmas than the baby! 🙈😱

@louisaizzy if you don't mind me asking how much was your scan? I'm not sure I can keep waiting and keep calm - I really need some reassurance!!! X

Jojo19834 · 16/01/2020 18:34

@StephD2020 can’t answer for @Louisaizzy but mine was £79. Expensive but worth it IMO. I’m still waiting for scan date and so got impatient and decided to book my NIPT for next Monday to be able to get on with telling people. Enough people know now so don’t want it to be a secret. Basically anyone that would need to know if I had a MC knows, anyone that doesn’t need to doesn’t know

Regarding stomach, at 10 weeks I was convinced it had started growing but mine was bloating. I do think though something is defo changing! Today has been hard as didn’t eat enough and my god I slowed right down. Now having a sugar fix to bring me back up but need to watch that. Anyone else finding they are struggling if not eating? I was fine when nauseous

StephD2020 · 16/01/2020 18:40

Thanks @Jojo19834 and that's a doable amount of money! We are in north London so I'm guessing I can probably get a scan with a reasonable level of ease somewhere! Same as you, I just want to be able to stop lying to people when I catch up with them. And my husband is absolutely desperate to start telling people - he's more excited than me I think, so cute 🥰😍

Louisaizzy · 16/01/2020 18:50

StephD2020 I’ve been to two different company’s window to the womb was £59 For initial scan and that’s in Southampton. then I went to baby bond in Bmth and just an early/dating scan was £45

Louisaizzy · 16/01/2020 18:51

@StephD2020 £45 is the cheapest I’ve seen it

StephD2020 · 16/01/2020 19:04

Thanks ladies - I've just seen one for £45 near me that can fit me in on Sunday so will see what the husband says when he gets in! Did you all go to your early scans with your partners or did you go alone? Don't want him to miss out but he's working over the weekend! X

Louisaizzy · 16/01/2020 19:25

@StephD2020 yes he did!....Think it’s good for men to go and he’s been nicer to me since, Making me a cup of tea etc 😆 as in....oh she wasn’t complaining about nothing! 😆

pottypotamus · 16/01/2020 19:55

Hello ladies, hope you don't mind me butting in, I'm due end of July so could very possibly be an August baby if I go overdue.

But saw you guys talking about early scans and there was a lady who is from north London. There's this place on Groupon for £39 and I had my 8w scan there and they were really good.

Anyone due August 2020 pt II
StephD2020 · 16/01/2020 19:55

@Louisaizzy awwww that's cute!! Yea I think it's good to remind them you're busy growing a human - will wait until he can come with.....

KirstieC · 16/01/2020 20:05

Have a private scan booked for tomorrow afternoon and can't wait...think it will all seem real for both of us then 😊 2 pictures and a disc with all the images on for £49 which I think is really reasonable.

Dating scan is booked for 30th!

Boyfriend is convinced there is more than one in there...woke me up the other morning to tell me he had a dream it was twins! Scary as he knew I was pregnant before I did.

EDD is 5 August. Boyfriends sister is getting married on 1 August and he is supposed to be walking her down the aisle with his brother...we shall see but doubt that will be happening!
