Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

@MaisieMolly my 12 week is the 20th jan, I’ll be in my second trimester 2 days after how exciting🙈🙈

MaisieMolly · 08/01/2020 14:00

@Firstmummytobe oooh that’s not too long to wait then! How far along do you think you’ll be by then? When does the second trimester actually start, is it 13 weeks?

DanielleG96 · 08/01/2020 14:17

Quick question, I'm going to the Lake District next Friday and have a Lodge with a hot tub for 3 nights. Guessing that hot tubs aren't safe during pregnancy? Does anyone know?

MaisieMolly · 08/01/2020 14:37

@DanielleG96 best to avoid apparently www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/pregnancy/is-it-safe-to-use-a-sauna-or-jacuzzi-if-i-am-pregnant/

Have a lovely trip away!

heroineinahalfshell · 08/01/2020 18:07

@DanielleG96 I'm also going to be missing out on a hut tub when we go away in a couple of weeks - absolutely gutted!!

Macbless · 08/01/2020 18:10

@Firstmummytobe exciting your scan is so soon. Mine is 24th so not too far away either.
Generally my symptoms have been getting better but I seem to susceptible to illnesses. I had flu like illness before Christmas for about 3 weeks in total and now I've got such a sore throat. Not sure if I feel so tired today due to illness or pregnancy. Felt a bit bad but I really just coasted a work today and kept my head down.
Nice to hear from everybody. An exciting and scary time! Xx

DragonNight · 08/01/2020 18:47

Eugh, I feel like crap. Was worried as sickness wasn't too bad yesterday but today it's been horrid. Dry heaving first thing then constant nausea until this afternoon. I had it until 18 weeks last time!

sel2223 · 09/01/2020 16:10

Just back from an early scan at 8+2

Not the best picture but it was great to see our jelly bean and hear their heartbeat 😊

@Sel2223 😍😍
was this a private scan you had? given you are 8weeks gone.

PandaPink · 09/01/2020 17:22

Lovely @sel2223!

I went for my reassurance scan today and was an anxious wreck!
I'm so happy to say baby is measuring 3 days ahead at 10 weeks 2 days. 12 week scan on 23rd too!

And breathe!!!

sel2223 · 09/01/2020 17:46

@PandaPink thank you. I'm pleased everything went well with your reassurance scan today!

@LoloFuentes Yes. We're in Turkey and the private clinic here scanned to confirm the pregnancy at the very beginning then they do a follow up for free.

LoloFuentes · 09/01/2020 18:06

@sel2223 I wish they did them here in England. It does make it all real. Can’t wait for my 12 week scan

sel2223 · 09/01/2020 18:13

@LoloFuentes I know, it's such a long wait to the 12 week scan. The first trimester is really dragging and I've been so anxious this last week for some reason so this scan was very welcome.
I know it's early days and anything can happen but it was so reassuring to hear the heart beat (175bpm - which I was told is very strong for 8 weeks)

MissyM96 · 09/01/2020 21:17

That’s amazing @LoloFuentes! I wish I could have a scan, had my first meeting with my midwife today and she told me I’m 8+2 too! A little further on than I thought! So excited 😁

Realladymarmalade · 09/01/2020 21:37

Well done on all the positive scans ladies.
I gave my booking appt in two weeks. Still undecided about private scan vs putting money aside for harmony testing.

Had a good cry tonight. Partner working away tomorrow for three weeks.
Constant nausea or hunger switching one to the other exhausted and ribs and uterus twinges. Just feel bloody miserable. 😵

LoloFuentes · 09/01/2020 21:54

@MissyM96 I bet you were chuffed to know you were far gone more than you thought.
@realladymarmalade sorry you are feeling rubbish. I hope it gets better soon. I had terrible nausea but it’s subsided now only food aversion. I’m definitely hungry but I can’t stand food at all. I’ve lost half a stone and almost worried now. All I can nibble on is watermelon. Nothing else. I hope it goes away soon so I can eat again.

Jojo19834 · 10/01/2020 08:14

Hi all, I had my midwife appointment today and am considering NIPT/Harmony and I just asked whether they do it in our trust, turns out they do if your criteria are right ie odds high and cause of those odds something that would benefit from NIPT. Therefore I am going to wait and judge my scan date/results. They also said that if you are high risk/a concern the team are on to you within days so it’s not like there’s a long wait to decide either. If I can save £400+ then I will wait a few weeks. I may not but at least it won’t be wasted!

Had my appointment yesterday, what is wrong with me!

Congrats to everyone who's had positive reassurance scans recently.

Still just over 2 weeks till my NHS scan, I'll be 13 weeks exactly when I have it. Can't wait!

My nausea has really died down this week. It is still there, every day, but comes in waves, so I will have an hour or so where it is awful and I am retching all the time, and then a couple of hours where I just have a iffy feeling in the pit of my stomach. I'm nearly 11 weeks so hoping that I'm over the worst of it. In both my previous pregnancies I remember I was nauseous till 16 weeks or so, but hoping this time round I've been luckier.

Still unbelievably tired though, my bed time at the moment is around 8pm once my kids are in bed! Really looking forward to getting some energy back...

f00k · 10/01/2020 16:15

@Jojo19834 my NHS Trust do that too. After my combined screening with DD, I was given odds of 1 in 49 for Downs. They phoned me within an hour of getting home from the scan and arranged for me to come back and do the NIPT. Got the results 5 days later. I had said if we had anymore children I'd pay for the NIPT rather than go through the combined screening, but now I'm expecting DC3 (and don't have £400!) I'm going to wait and see what the results are from the NHS, and at least I know I'll be offered the Harmony test again if the results are concerning.

Hi Everyone- can I please join?!
I was reluctant to at first as due to previous illness and losses. But we had a scan yesterday and little one is measuring 9w and 3 days, with an EDD of 13.8.2020

Hope everyone else is going good?
Love to all! Xx

MaisieMolly · 11/01/2020 17:02

Welcome @UnexpectedItemInTheShaggingAre and congratulations! Lovely photo!

How’s everyone doing? I think I’m over 10 weeks now and still very few symptoms! Boob soreness has gone right down. Get a bit bloated after dinner, that’s it!! Can’t wait to the 12 week scan to check everything’s ok in there.

Macbless · 11/01/2020 18:53

Welcome @UnexpectedItemInTheShaggingAre
I'm feeling similar @MaisieMolly - 10+5 and nausea has settled down a lot. I've not eaten anything since 2pm and if this had been last weekend I'd have felt positively horrific. I thought the tiredness has settled but I fell sleep on the sofa last night at 9pm and was in bed before 9.30. Woke up at 8.30am this morning! Totally unheard of.
I think the nausea settling and having more energy has made me feel even more keen to get to scan day. It's 2 weeks yesterday. We saw some good friends for lunch with their kids and I really wanted to tell them but was too scared in case the scan goes wrong and I have to back track.
We've done lots of changing our minds about scans and what to do. In the end we've decided not to have the bloods taken and just have the scan without the test for down's etc. We wouldn't want to have an amnio so decided it wasn't worth it and just to see if the anomlies scan shows up something. I've found it a really difficult decision but perhaps I've thought about it too much. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nellie3 · 11/01/2020 19:17

@MaisieMolly and @Macbless I'm about the same time along as you and my nausea has also calmed down alot this week. I actually phoned the hospital advice line on Monday because I'd just felt much less sick and was having cramps for a few days and was worried.

They said there was nothing they could do unless I was actually bleeding, to think positively and it was hopefully just hormones levelling out. I've felt ill on and off since but nothing compared to what I had been feeling in earlier weeks. So hoping it's just part of it and we should try to enjoy feeling less ill! These 12 week scans need to hurry up xxx
