Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

I’ve got quite a pronounced bump but I’m quite small and have a small figure so the midwife said it’s common for people with a smaller build to show quicker, and they put me at 10 weeks 5 days 😊

Dollywilde · 07/01/2020 13:39

I'm 9 weeks on Friday and while I know it's not a bump I'm definitely rounder at the front. Have had some dreadful trapped wind though so I think that's much more likely to be the culprit Grin

MaisieMolly · 07/01/2020 16:04

@Firstmummytobe happy to hear all is ok. Hope you’re not feeling too bad with whatever it is.

I definitely don’t have a bump (or any other symptoms), but I do have a bit of bloat... which might also be Christmas fat... which I’m trying to hide. I’m almost 10 weeks. Still don’t really feel like there’s anything happening in there Confused Waiting for the 12 week scan for some reassurance but I’m sure it’ll then be on to the next worry!

sezzywoowoo21 · 07/01/2020 16:40

@Firstmummytobe what an amazing picture bet you are so happy let’s hope pain subsides now...I’m 10wks tomorrow 5th baby and my stomach is rock hard and very noticeable still trying to hide from everyone that I’m pregnant until 12wks but so hard lol xx

Jojo19834 · 07/01/2020 17:29

@Firstmummytobe massive smile here for that result, relieved is probably an understatement for you!

Also a gorgeous picture, I had mine at 9+5 and saw some amazing stuff but yours a week on had changed so much. Can’t believe between 10 and 12 weeks they double in size. So much going on in there it’s a beautiful thing!!

Thank you so much 😍😍😍 I have another scan (12 weeks) on the 20th of jan!! Can’t wait to see if it has changed even more xx

LoloFuentes · 07/01/2020 17:51

@firstmummytobe wonderful news, what a relief.
I’ve only just got my first appointment with midwife for next week. She tells me it’s an hour long. Can’t wait for the first scan though so we can Also see our little one.

Babykent2019 · 07/01/2020 18:36

@Firstmummytobe awww what a relief! And such a great pick of little babba.

I'm only 8+2 but can't fasten the top button of my work trousers. My boss noticed today. I think it's all bloating and has at the moment but definitely to right in my trousers 👖

Realladymarmalade · 07/01/2020 18:42

Have bump envy ...though I am an end of August baby ...

What's galling mind you is that I am the slimmest I've been in 10 years having finally shifted baby weight (ahem mY baby is nearly 6!) . One of my colleagues commented on how svelte I am . I wept inside 🤣

Babykent2019 · 07/01/2020 19:17

My msg makes no sense but I know what I meant 😂🤦🏽‍♀️🤯

annie1994 · 07/01/2020 20:48

Hello,
I found out last week I’m pregnant which was a complete shock for me and my fiancée!! Definitely not expected but we are so excited/ anxious. This will be both our first pregnancy and baby so we feel pretty clueless about everything. I think i’m due 30th August so am 6 weeks and 2 days. Apart from sore boobs and certain foods making me feel queasy, I feel ok. I’m still waiting to hear from the midwife with my booking appointment. How comes some of you already have had scans/ dates for scans?

alexTP · 07/01/2020 22:26

@Firstmummytobe congratulations and what a relief! Hope your pain gets better soon.

I have my first consultant appointment tomorrow .. I am 7weeks+4days.. hopefully hear a heartbeat .. fingers crossed x

Btw same symptoms as everyone else ..bloating, nausea and severe acid reflux .. tighter work pants also :)

I tried fennel and fresh mint tea for acid reflux - it's helped me a lot!

Firstmummytobe · 07/01/2020 22:41

Thankyou very much! My symptoms are starting to ease a little now x

Jojo19834 · 08/01/2020 06:21

Welcome @annie1994 and congratulations. This is my first too but it’s not everyone’s so some good advice around here and on the boards. I’m over 10 weeks and there are a couple around that mark now so we are early August so a fair way ahead. It’s good to get your booking appointment scheduled but it varies sooooo much as to where you live as to how this happens and when. I have mine on Thursday whereas others had theirs much earlier on. Also, I won’t get my scan date til after that. However I’ve had private scans, as have others as a bit of reassurance as you have no idea what is going on in there! Shout if you have any questions

@Firstmummytobe same re symptoms, so far I have been lucky I would say. Not saying it’s all easy as so long to go and so much to come!

I'm 10 weeks and 1 day today. Had my booking appointment yesterday however was only 20 minutes long as they did my height, weight, bmi, a urine sample, blood test and carbon monoxide test then just asked if I had any questions and talked me through the screening tests for Downs Syndrome and Edwards and Pataus Syndrome. The midwife was lovely, I think they do the appointment in halves here which is why it was short as I'm meeting her Sunday to go through the family history etc. She also gave me the numbers of my midwives and said to text them day or night if I ever have any concerns and they will get back to me straight away. She sent off for my scan and said I should get that back soon :)

Symptom wise I have had it very easy. Apart from cramping in the first few weeks which has now totally eased off I have had no nausea really. I do have sore boobs and am heavily chested anyway so am having to wear a sports bra constantly otherwise it's too uncomfortable! I'm a bit more gassy, Mild heartburn on and off and I can't tell if I'm tired more than normal as I suffer with anemia so I just feel tired all the time like I used to anyway. I don't really feel pregnant? I was worried about the nausea as it seems everyone is having it but she reassured me that if I haven't bled and because I saw the baby's heartbeat at the 7 week private scan I had that I'm just a lucky one. However she did say, although private scans can give you reassurance, it doesn't mean all will be okay at the 12 week scan (which is obvious)

PandaPink · 08/01/2020 07:00

@DanielleG96 welcome. Don't worry about not having nausea! My friend didn't have any at all and is now 20 weeks whereas I am literally just about to go for my usual morning vomit!!! Sad

LoloFuentes · 08/01/2020 08:07

Welcome all new moms to be.
@annie1994 I am exactly same as you 6+3 today my first appointment is on Wednesday next week. My midwife from my surgery only called me yesterday to confirm the appointment. I haven’t had a scan yet.

LoloFuentes · 08/01/2020 08:09

By the way has anyone got a cold here. I’m absolutely dying of cough and sneezing. I don’t want to take meds but not sure what can help.

DanielleG96 · 08/01/2020 08:45

@LoloFuentes I've had the flu in between Christmas and new year. I called 111 and they told me the only thing safe to take was paracetamol. Which I did take and the non medicated throat sweets!

idontknow54789 · 08/01/2020 09:44

Hi, can I join? Due 31st August so I'm probably one of the last but my little boy was nearly 2 weeks early so I'm expecting it to be a bit early. 6 weeks 3 days at the moment, sickness and bloating seems so much worse this time Sad

MissyM96 · 08/01/2020 10:40

Hey everyone! I found out that I’m pregnant last week, I think I’m around 7 weeks, maybe more but not 100%. Really struggling with carrying on with everyday life as I’m constantly exhausted and have really bad nausea, also my cramps are the worst! Seeing my midwife for the first time tomorrow which is exciting but also extremely nervous as this is my first pregnancy 🙈

MaisieMolly · 08/01/2020 11:12

@DanielleG96 I’m about 10 weeks and no real symptoms! I’m kind of glad not to be dealing with feeling rough, but equally really struggling to process that there (hopefully) something in there!

Welcome and congratulations to the other new peeps.

Who is going to be first to have their “12 week” scan I wonder? Mine is on 23 Jan.

MissyM96 · 08/01/2020 11:18

@DanielleG96 thank you for the warm welcome!!
I really hope all is well with your pregnancy, I’m sure you’re just very lucky not to have any sickness! I wouldn’t wish it on anyone!
Good luck for your scan on the 23rd, how exciting!! 😁😁
