New thread for our July gang 😊

Shall we do a little reminder of who we all are so we can see who is on here - Age, current EDD and if we know our 12 week scan date?

I'll start:

31 - EDD 08/07 - 12 week scan 24/12

I was meant to have a 'physiotherapy - pelvic health' prenatal class in early April which has just been cancelled. No explanation, but I'm assuming due to the current situation.

Does anyone know what sort of stuff might have been covered in this class? I find that description so vague, but I'd like to make sure I'm finding the information I need to online or in a book somewhere instead.

Mysa74 · 04/04/2020 18:29

Hi folks, I'd like to join you if that's okay? Had my bfp just under two weeks ago and my fast track scan on Friday, I went from not pregnant to 25 weeks in about 10 days, lol. I've had no symptoms, and only did the test as someone asked, I laughed at them at the time...

Mysa74 · 04/04/2020 18:31

I'm 45, edd 14/07/20. 4th pregnancy, have two daughters, 3 and 8. Husband and I both surprised and thrilled 😃

squirrelnutkins1 · 04/04/2020 19:14

Oh my days!!! @Mysa74 how crazy!

LisaxMarie · 04/04/2020 21:44

Wow @Mysa74 that’s so crazy! Congratulations!!

Mysa74 · 05/04/2020 08:02

Thank you guys. I've had a lot going on in my life recently, dad's been very ill, I've been looking after 3 horses all winter and ferrying my girls to after school clubs until recently. I also work full time for the NHS and have been comparing perimenopause symptoms with friend in my team for the last year, I'm not stupid I promise!!

Bythelake89 · 05/04/2020 12:39

@Mysa74 amazing - what a surprise that must have been!! Congratulations to you :)

Mysa74 · 06/04/2020 18:52

Thank you bythelake, I'm thrilled!

LisaxMarie · 15/05/2020 12:54

How is everyone doing? Currently 31+2 and already worrying about what state the maternity services will be in by the due date in July! Poor babies coming into this crazy world!

summerbaby2 · 15/05/2020 13:41

Hello, am I ok to join?

I'm almost 33 weeks with my second - in definite waddling like a duck territory Grin Can't believe less than 8 weeks to go! Can't wait but also really don't want have to go through labour again Confused

Are people all set? I think we're almost there but still don't have a shortlist of names, eek! So baby may be nameless for a while.

summerbaby2 · 15/05/2020 13:45

@Mysa74 just reading the chain... wow! That's amazing! Are you managing to get some time to rest now that you know? Did you find out what you're having? Oh it's all very exciting.

RedRobin7 · 15/05/2020 13:55

@LisaxMarie Hey! I'm 33+1 today and starting to feel anxious about it all. My sister is pregnant too and being induced 2 weeks today - I feel very sad we won't get to meet each other's babies for some time. My mum has been told to shield for a further 12 weeks, taking her up to August so I'm feeling quite scared about being on my own after my DH has gone back to work. What a scary time!

@summerbaby2 Hello 😊 I've nearly finished packing my hospital bag but everything is packed for baby boy. I'm actually going to move both of our bags into one case now that they're saying pack for every scenario in case DH can't come back after the birth. We are still waiting for his furniture after covid caused big delays! We only agreed on a name on Sunday and I bought a cute engraved name disc so no going back now! Btw most of us from this thread are on a fb group if you'd like to join?

@AutumnDazed How are you both doing? Is your wife managing with her anxiety? Don't forget she's very welcome to join our group if and when she's ready 😊

LisaxMarie · 15/05/2020 14:02

@RedRobin7 ah it’s such an anxious time! Best of luck to your sister. It’s such a shame that you can’t both experience this together as I’m sure you’d imagined you would have!

My mum is having to have the isolation extended also although I think she is secretly still hoping that it will ease by then. I’m quite anxious about the birth as my husband suffers with severe allergies I.e coughing and sneezing so I’m hoping that they will just go by his temperature because July will be peak hay fever season for him! 🤦‍♀️

AutumnDazed · 15/05/2020 17:45

Hey @RedRobin7 (and everyone else!). We are doing okay, thank you. Had a tough week this week as E was measured small on Monday (at 32 weeks exactly) by the midwife, so we were referred for a scan that evening. They measured the baby even smaller there, putting him in the 8th percentile and so naturally we are both pretty worried he’s not growing at all. We’ve got a follow up on the bank holiday Monday coming up, but it’s certainly not helped E’s anxiety. I think she was becoming a bit more comfortable with the whole lockdown and lack of parents/family around her for when he’s born, but this has caused her to worry. Trying to keep positive though. Thank you for asking, really kind of you. Hope you’re doing well! I’ll let mention the FB group again to her and see what she says. We have our NCT classes this weekend via Zoom so it may open her up a bit.

Mysa74 · 15/05/2020 21:01

Hi summerbaby2, I'm currently sailing through, measured perfectly for 31 weeks on Tuesday when I was 31 weeks.resting when I can, but not as much as I'd like as I work in pharmacy in the NHS... Looking forward to getting all my jobs done and starting my mat leave...

summerbaby2 · 16/05/2020 19:30

@RedRobin7 sounds like it's all coming together nicely. I'm not on Facebook I'm afraid, mumsnet is my only social media 🙈

@Mysa74 glad to hear all is well and good to keep active to help get baby into position, but equally not long to go until mat leave

RedRobin7 · 17/05/2020 09:07

@AutumnDazed These babies love to worry us! I'm sorry you've got additional anxiety but you're in good hands and they'll be monitoring with the additional scans. My placenta isn't functioning properly so I was told to expect baby to be small and for possible early induction but so far from my growth scans he's actually above the 50th centile but they're still monitoring in case the placenta dies. Keep us posted on how E and baby are both doing. You're doing a great job supporting her 🙂

AutumnDazed · 17/05/2020 20:46

Thanks @RedRobin7, really appreciate the support and kind words. Best of luck to you and hope you have no further complications with the placenta, or anything else for that matter!

WeeScottishWife · 19/05/2020 09:09

I'm doing ok, had a bit of a faff last week at my 28 week appointment because all the local area west London services seem to have gone into hospitals & the midwife I saw couldn't check things I needed to know from her computer... 3 hours later that day, plus going back later in the week, I've had blood taken twice & been given the anti-D injection. That was particularly frustrating because I'm B-, and we know husband is AB-, but because the hospital don't know that they needed to check baby's blood type... test for that was done months ago, but came back inconclusive - there would have been plenty of time to do another test and get proper results, if someone had shared the result straight away, but they didn't. Sigh.

On the positive side, I'm loving how much I can feel baby move now, and we finally decided on her name!

lustforlife · 21/05/2020 20:08

Could someone put a link to the Facebook group please? Smile

LisaxMarie · 24/05/2020 22:32

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well and not suffering to badly in this sunshine! Just wondering which baby monitor you’ve bought?? There are soo many to choose from!

RedRobin7 · 24/05/2020 23:03

@WeeScottishWife The anti D is so painful so not nice you've had to go through that unnecessarily. I've had it twice in this pregnancy and both times it hurt so much!

@lustforlife Link is posted at the bottom of this page.

@LisaxMarie We went for the BT 6000, big screen and the camera can pan around. Very pleased with it but won't know for sure how good it is until baby is actually here!

How is everyone coping? Anyone having any odd symptoms?
I have felt sick for 2-3 days, and I'm extremely uncomfortable! Feel so much pressure down there! Anyone else?

Millettmum · 05/06/2020 08:27

@em90792
No symptoms, had app yesterday, baby's head moving down but not yet engaged. I believe I'm getting more BH but that's it.

WeeScottishWife · 05/06/2020 08:56

@em90792 I'm starting to feel more pressure down there from time to time, definitely feels like she's starting to be head down & lower more often.

It's my last day of work today before I'm on furlough, then holiday, then mat leave, which is quite exciting, and also a relief - I've been so tired, glad I'll be able to take things a bit easier now!
