Shall we do a little reminder of who we all are so we can see who is on here - Age, current EDD and if we know our 12 week scan date?

I'll start:

nsav · 01/03/2020 18:42

Laura2108 · 01/03/2020 18:59

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for replying.

touch wood it has been a good pregnancy, especially compared to my previous. Lots of appointments and check ups bit cant complain.

How is everyone else doing?

LisaxMarie · 01/03/2020 19:47

Ah glad to hear you’ve had a good one so far.

Mines been the same. Luckily no major symptoms and managed to get away with no sickness too thank the lord!

Had some early checks due to previous ectopic but just confirmed as a healthy baby girl 😊

LisaxMarie · 01/03/2020 19:47

Welcome @nsav! Congrats and good luck for the 20 week scan 😊

charlotte366 · 08/03/2020 10:18

Hi ladies

I am hoping in if that's ok, currently 22wks due July 12th!

We found out early on from the harmony test that it's a little boy.

Have bought some clothes and sleeping bags but none of the big stuff yet.

My pregnancy has some risks (family history of pre eclampsia and I have low Papp a diagnosed from the combined screening test) I am therefore consultant led and going to be having increased monitoring and growth scans.

I had horrendous sickness which only appears to have a stopped about 10!days ago so right now I am enjoying all the food!

RedRobin7 · 08/03/2020 12:41

@charlotte366 Welcome! I'm also having extra monitoring due to low PAPP-A and higher risk of pre-eclampsia. When do your growth scans start? My first one is at 31 weeks but everyone else I've spoken to is having one at 24 or 28 weeks so I'm going to push for one at 28 when I see my midwife.

I'm 23+3 and due 2nd July. Also having a boy!

@AutumnDazed Glad you had a good time at the baby show. My husband suffers with anxiety so that sort of thing is his worst nightmare.

OP posts:
charlotte366 · 08/03/2020 13:03

@RedRobin7 my growth scans are meant to be 26, 30, 34 and 37 weeks. Having the first at 25weeks due to easter. I also have to see the midwife every 2 weeks till 28wks for blood pressure checks then weekly after that.

I have a decent bump already at 22weeks and he seemed in normal size ranges at 20 weeks so hoping it stays that way.

How did You get told about the papp a?

nsav · 08/03/2020 13:52

@charlotte366 congrats on your wee boy! I’m also having a bit and I can’t believe it! That’s good you’re getting extra checks and hopefully it all goes smoothly ❤️

RedRobin7 · 08/03/2020 17:53

@charlotte366 I'm definitely pushing for that earlier scan then. Doesn't seem right I'm not seeing my midwife now until 28 weeks and then scan at 31.

I got told about my low level in a letter confirming my screening results. I nearly didn't read it after I had seen the main screening was all okay. I was quite upset they didn't call me to tell me! I've lost two babies already so this caused so much anxiety!

My level was 0.32 - do you know yours?

Btw we have a fb group if you want to join that's why it's fairly quiet on this thread.

charlotte366 · 09/03/2020 10:55

RedRobin7 have found the fb group and requested to join.

I don't know my level, my combined screening letter didn't say it was only when I requested to be consultant led that it came to light at about 18 weeks! my community midwife is dreadful hence the request to be consultant led....I don't trust her one little bit!

Spangita · 12/03/2020 07:12

Hello everyone,
it’s been a while since I’ve been on here. Due 27th July it’s my second baby and I have my 20 weeks scan today which I’m so excited about finding out the sex!
I’ve had a much harder time around this time with sickness (still occasional now!) and more achiness.
Sorry to hear about your sickness Charlotte it’s the pits, but glad it’s feeling better now.
Snav good luck for you scan too!

Is there a fb group as I find that so much easier to keep up with? What’s the group name? I still use my son’s group from 2016 and couldn’t be without it!

RedRobin7 · 12/03/2020 07:30

Hi @Spangita and welcome!

Hope your scan goes well today!

Hi can I join please, I'm due 14th july and it would be great to have others who are at the same stage as me to talk to

Bibinka · 24/03/2020 07:26

Hi @TiptopJ! Hope all is well. Most have moved onto Facebook page and I think they have restricted numbers now but I'm still active on this thread Smile

RedRobin7 · 24/03/2020 09:11

Welcome @TiptopJ 😊 New members can still join the fb group but there are a few people still around on here.

OP posts:
Bibinka · 24/03/2020 09:33

Oh, worry @RedRobin7. Someone mentioned they were going to restrict numbers on the page. I'm glad we haven't yet, especially at this time.

RedRobin7 · 24/03/2020 11:05

@Bibinka No worries, some people asked me to close it but after some feedback we'll keep it open 😊

Bythelake89 · 25/03/2020 07:34

Hi everyone Smile I'm going to try to check in on this thread more often. I haven't been over here much in the last few months since joining the FB group (it is a lovely little group!!).
I'm in a few different FB groups with women due around the same time too, and along with other posts from family and friends, a lot of the talk has (understandably) been covid 19 worries. It's been triggering my anxiety so I've decided to avoid FB for a while!

Hope you're all doing well :) I'm 25 weeks today and have been enjoying feeling kicks everyday. I don't think there is a pattern to the kicking yet, but the sessions are quite regular throughout the day.

squirrelnutkins1 · 25/03/2020 09:19

@Bythelake89 I'm the same, I can't cope with all the covid talk. I know it's important but I'm just trying to check the news once a day and leave it at that. The speculation makes me so anxious.

The movement is amazing isn't it! I'm 22+3 and she moves such a lot. Maybe I'm noticing it more with being at home more but she was partying for ages several times throughout the day!

I know the thread has gone a little quiet but it's still nice having people stop by and check in.

How are you guys? @AutumnDazed

squirrelnutkins1 · 25/03/2020 09:20

Partying yesterday I mean x

Bythelake89 · 25/03/2020 11:31

@squirrelnutkins1 glad I'm not the only one Wink

I've gone one step further and am getting my husband to give me a filtered version of any important news after he's checked it - I went to bed in tears the other night after watching the news, and I think it's best for me and baby if I retreat into a blissful pregnancy bubble :)

Hehe, I love the baby parties!! I'm working from home now as well, and it's also made me so aware of any movements - especially when doing boring paperwork!
I started counting kicking sessions on a bracelet last week and have found it quite reassuring! If I get a bout of foggy pregnancy brain and suddenly worry the baby's been quieter today, I can look at my bracelet and realise there was a similar amount of kicking sessions to yesterday.

squirrelnutkins1 · 25/03/2020 13:25

@Bythelake89 I was the same the other night my eyes were so red!
I've come into the garden for some sunshine and all my annoying neighbours are talking about is covid 🙄🙄🙄 get a new topic!

It's so nice and reassuring isn't it 😊😊😊 So glad to have some joy amongst this chaos. That's a good idea. I saw them being launched a few years ago by a lady on a show by Davina McCall. I can't think what programme it was tho....

AutumnDazed · 25/03/2020 17:52

Hey @squirrelnutkins1 (and everyone else!) we are doing well, thank you for asking :)

I’m doing what @Bythelake89’s husband is doing and filtering the news for E as much as I can. E has had her ups and downs the last week but is coming across much brighter the last few days.

We can both work from home, so on the plus side we get a lot more time together, which is great. We have breakfast together in the morning now, which we would very rarely do and spend an hour before work just being calm.

Outside of all that, our baby is a little kicking machine now! I speak to the baby every night at bedtime and E tells me he kicks like crazy when I’m talking, and I love feeling him move around. The second trimester has been almost textbook wonderful for E, with the sickness going, and all the nice parts of pregnancy coming to the fore. E is starting to ever so slightly get a bit tired and weary as she nears the third trimester (we are 25+2) which I think she expected.

We are really fortunate with everything going on that we are in the position we are in and we both recognise that. Our nursery is almost completed, with all the major furniture in and so we are trying to ensure E only has to take care of herself and the baby now. I think she’s a little heartbroken that all her plans for the latter part of the pregnancy have fallen through - her friends had arranged a wonderful surprise baby shower which won’t go ahead now I’m guessing - but we both now just cling to the hope that she and the baby remain healthy until this all passes.

Hope you’re all doing well and keeping sane as best as you can. Take care all :)
