@atomcats they said they'll induce me around my due date which is a week on sat. I'd rather he came naturally but hey ho as long as he's safe and well x

barnyb · 10/03/2020 21:20

Thank you everyone for the messages on congratulations! We are beyond lucky and happy! :)
@maria94 yes stitch sisters! Haha! Mine are from the baby not the way I laboured. It’s a muscle tear from the baby. how awful I was more worried about the stitches then the birth but actually the stitches are a breeze to anyone who is worried! no problems with them after. It’s not great but it’s absolutely nothing to worry about.
Hope everyone is doing well! xxx

@singme I had a sweep at 40+3. And I asked for it at my 38 week appointment. They said they don’t like to do it until 40+ because they are mostly not going to find the cervix low enough until that point or after. They also don’t like to do too many internal exams because of infection so best to limit exams / sweeps.
Xxxxxxx

MissPepper8 · 11/03/2020 11:25

@singme I was offered at 37 weeks with DS a sweep by midwife as I turned 40 (would of been 40+3) but I never had it.

This time consultant offered at 38 as I'm scared of inducing. I can't say if they're working.. Its sped up plug loss and bloody show but I was already having niggles. I'm going tomorrow so will see how successful its been in helping me along. If I'm not atleast 3cm I won't be having another, I'll leave it until I'm 40 next Wednesday.

I dunno if it's because I've had a little one before? I think it's helped things along a tiny bit, but I wouldn't do it again. I thought if anything they'd offer it end of 39 weeks, so I'd suggest leaving it a bit later too (I know how annoying it is to want baby now, but if they're not ready, it won't work).

singme · 11/03/2020 13:41

Yeah I think I will try and hold off as long as everything is well. Not seeing midwife again until 39 weeks so it would be likely to be 40+ anyway!

Jesskir89 · 11/03/2020 21:15

Hi ladies, my waters broke today at 38+4 just waiting now for Labour. If nothing by 3pm tomorrow I'm being induced x

MissPepper8 · 11/03/2020 21:38

@singme Yeah you have more chance of things being more favourable :) and I don't think it would of hurt so much if I was a bit more ready too x

@Jesskir89 Ah fingers crossed your labour kicks off tonight for you x

atomcats · 11/03/2020 22:43

@Jesskir89 good luck! Hope all goes smoothly for you

Xxxxxx

maria94 · 12/03/2020 12:04

@barnyb how are you getting on? My baby seems to be an absolute dream throughout the day.. nightmare at night! Wouldn't change it for the world though! Can't believe she's finally here. Looking forward to everything down below healing up!! What time was your baby born?? Wonder if it's the same lol although very unlikely😂 Xxx

@Jesskir89 Ahhh good luck! You've got this ☺️ Xxx

barnyb · 12/03/2020 14:04

@maria94 hello!! Omg me too! She’s asleep right now and she’s an absolute darling! But a mini hitler at night time! We are completely at her mercy and have to abide by her rules! Which means we aren’t allowed to put her in her Moses basket and one of us must be holding her at all times. basically when I sleep husband has her and then we swap. ! Totally not ideal and we are so tired!!!! lol oh yes literally today is the first day my stitches have given me some soreness which isn’t great.
I think the first night home I had two hours sleep. last night I had 4 hours.
Is there any way we can private message each other?
She was born 7:18 what about you??
Xx

MissPepper8 · 12/03/2020 14:13

@Jesskir89 Hope things progressed or already on your way to having your baby soon lovely, thinking of you x

jollybobs89 · 12/03/2020 16:04

Well baby is engaged I'm 38 + 1 today! But as it's my second they won't do a sweep till 41 weeks!!!! Arghhhh I'll go insane if he doesn't make an appearance before then! Xx

MockingJay27 · 12/03/2020 16:31

@Jesskir89 good luck with your labour! Hope it comes on naturally for you

maria94 · 12/03/2020 19:15

@barnyb sounds very familiar haha! Our baby has her body clock the wrong way round which is such fun at night time!! Little monkeys get away with it though don't they. She was born 5.50 so not far off at all, how crazy! Time is running away with us, can't believe how quickly it's all going. Missing your bump yet?😅
I'm not sure if there is? Xxx

barnyb · 12/03/2020 21:45

Nope not missing the bump at all! I’m so happy to be sleeping on my back again 😆 so weird how the belly goes down ! Every day it’s getting smaller and smaller. Oh so when you had your baby I still had an hour n a half of hell left haha ! That was probably the worst part for me too lol. good times!
How are you feeling emotionally?? Iv been so busy and tired Iv not really had time to think. But tonight Iv started to get a little overwhelmed. Just the feeling of worry if she’s ok. I’m sure it’s a sudden surge of hormones or something. But Iv also just thought holy crap how will I cope on my own when husband goes back to work? eeeeek!!! it’s just so consuming isn’t it xxxx

MockingJay27 · 13/03/2020 17:11

@Jesskir89 any news Grin

barnyb · 13/03/2020 19:28

@Jesskir89 hope all is ok xxx

maria94 · 13/03/2020 20:23

@barnyb oh very very emotional! Definitely a case of the baby blues going on over here 😅 it's all so overwhelming isn't it! 100% hormones and lack of sleep are to blame, I cannot wait for them to settle down. My midwife has been a god send the past couple of days, I wish she could be here 24/7🤣 worth every emotion though, so happy little bean is finally here! How are you feeling today? Xxx

barnyb · 13/03/2020 20:49

Hello! Ow bless your heart I’m sorry your feeling blue. I really thought I’d be more blue then I am at this point but I’m very aware that this might all completely change when husband goes back to work. That’s amazing your being support by midwives. Iv got a hospital check and blood test for baby tomorrow have you???
I’m so tired I actually get to a pint where I feel like I can’t physically stay awake a moment longer ! but same as you, can’t wait for this part to change. I think it’s all very normal the not sleeping at night then situ. So naughty aren’t they! 😂🤯😵💤😴
I’m actually nervous about the whole leaving the house thing tomorrow!! We’ve not taken her out yet and I’m dreading it xxx I want to send you my number or email or something so we can chat but don’t know how without putting it on here! X

MiniJMac · 13/03/2020 21:04

Anyone up for a lock tight facebook group to keep in contact?

maria94 · 13/03/2020 22:10

@barnyb I have sent you a private message I think! You might have to log on via the website instead of the app and it should come up in your inbox? I hope🥴 Xxx
