Thanks for your reassurance, I have taken him to the gp this morning and he's referred him to a neurologist for further investigation. He said it could be a one off which I hope it is. They said he probably won't be allowed to drive for a year which is going to be awkward. we are moving house in 2 weeks which adds to the stress but trying to stay positive about everything!

walkingwomb · 03/09/2007 18:04

IndigoBlue - Bummer about the driving, but at least he seems to be okay at the moment. Fingers crossed it was just a once off. I hope you are both okay.

Hi There!!

Can i plz join the May 2008 group too?
I am due on 5th May 2008.
I already have a 9 month old little girl who took 2yrs to conceive (had a mc before her). We wanted children close together and i got pregnant on first attempt this time which was cool.
Despite having a lovely little girl i am still scared of something going wrong because of previous mc.
Have been having achy kinda pains in tummy just a little stronger than period pains for about a week, has anyone else had these yet? Can't remember if i had them with my first or not.
CONGRATULATIONS to everyone here, roll on the 12 week mark ey when we can tell everyone and rest easy!!

goodcatholicgirl · 03/09/2007 21:03

mumtomadison - your situation sounds similar to mine. I am trying to be positive, but it's hard. Just seems too good to be true after efforts TTC dd1 (although we did do the babydance 5 nights out of six around ovulation time to make sure, obviously worked!!! ) I am due 5th May too!

Indigoblue - hope DH is on the mend.

Aquababe - as I mentioned B4, one of my best mates had a MC 1 mth ago, twins , I rang her last night to tell her I got a BFP, as she knew we were TTC so was half expecting it. She was fab, really excited for us. She lives in USA so I don't see her very often . I'm sure she felt a litte sad for herself but I reassured her that her time will come, and it will be even more special. I think it helps slightly that she knows I had MC before.

Blimey, I'm not normally this depressing, honest!!!!

Only 7 weeks to go and counting.....

bramblina · 03/09/2007 22:04

Hellooooo everyone...another BFPer here wanting to join in! AF was due last Tues but got BFN on Thurs, then BFP today! LMP was 31st July so EDD 6th May.
I'm 30, married, with 1 ds, 2 last month. I'm also in Scotland, north west coast. Previous to ds I had 4 mcs so sympathise with all who are feeling nervous. I'm just pretty darned giddy right now! Dh is is Spain till Wed so looking forward to him coming home.
Going to phone docs in morning for an appt to confirm, really loking forward to seeing the mw and believing it's all happening again!

Congratulations everyone and good luck!!

goodcatholicgirl · 03/09/2007 22:18

awww, congrats Bramblina, welcome to the best club in the world, the "I'm gonna have a baby" club!!!

YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

jacobandlysette · 04/09/2007 12:05

Hi everyone, and welcome goodcatholicgirl, mumtomadison and bramblina! congratulations everyone!

Great list of reasons to be pregnant at this time of year. I can add another - it's much easier to look stylish when you're not sweltering in 30 degree heat - I had ds in one of the hottest summers and i just looked terrible for the last two months of the pregnancy . Also all ante and post natal wards have their heating on full blast ALL year round, so at least it won't be mid summer!

I've updated the list - if i've got it wrong at all please do change it.

I didn't get any morning sickness with my first but have been feeling regulalry nauseous with this one - but it seems to pass with a drink or something to eat so that's something.

How's everyone feeling today? Fingers crossed for scans and tests tomorrow. Had my first bp and urine check at my doctors today as our antenatal care doesn't start at the hospital till the scan on october 16th, and then it's all community midwife based (which is great if you have a normal pregnancy but as my frist one was far from and i have high blood pressure anyway, not brillian for me!). The doctor is watching everything very carefully already so that's something. And i have to go back every 2 weeks for checks, rather than every 4 that is the ante natal norm.

Anyway, enough of my rambling!

Hi everyone. Great ot see the club getting bigger - congrats to all!
Indigo, sorry to hear about your DH - how scary. It happened to my sister in her sleep too and it was a one off. Also a neighbour (hers was linked to falling off a horse- the pain or something). They are both absolutely fine now and can drive etc. Sometimes your body does really weird things!

Just recovered from a terrible flu, so am shattered, but it makes me feel much 'weller' than I was. Still feel sick, but at least I don't have all the flu stuff going on.

It's Tuesday - hope the scans and key days pass well today chicks!

aquababe · 04/09/2007 12:42

Had my scan all seems fine they are not sure what was causing the pain.
quite relieved
must say going to the antenatal ward where I was induced was by far the worst part.
the internal part of the sacn was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be.

they didn't make any guesses about dates yet though
got to go back in two weeks when they hope to see a heart beat

pp - any news . hope it's good
Emmsy - your half way through the day hope you're feeling a less anxious

Congrats mumtomadison & Bramblina

Good catholic girl I was thinking about what you said re bf's mc think I'll tell her next time I see her, which should be after the heartbeat scan. she knows were ttc so she'll probably guess anyway.

jacobandlysette · 04/09/2007 16:21

sorry indigo, meant to say about your poor dh! so forgetful at the moment - i have to write everything down.

hopefully it will be a 1 off - i've not heard of them stopping him drive unless they find out it's a condition that means he has to iykwim? my mum is undergoing tests for parkinsons at the moment and although she has informed the DVLA they don't do anything with her licence until she actually has a definite answer

shellysara Just read your other post, how are things today?? Poor you, thinking of you lots xxx

mollymawk · 04/09/2007 22:25

Hi all, I would like to join your lovely shiny (quite) new thread please. I did my test this morning and went to the doctor's today (our hospital is a bit slow with issuing scan appointment dates so you have to get in quick if you want anything before about 15 weeks!).
My EDD is 13 May. I have 2 DSs already, aged 4 and 2 (both July, so going for a new month this time).
Not told anyone at all in RL and won't for a couple of months but I like the idea of sharing those early days on here. So I may pop in and out to see how you all are.

mumofk · 05/09/2007 04:11

Hi all, thanks for the good wishes- I'm still here-had to go and hide a few days coz thought it had all stopped. BUT- Monday had a tiny peek ready for bad news and saw.....teeny tiny but very REAL heart beat!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yippee. Sorry, will calm down a bit now. So, I'm 5-6 weeks, which doesn't fit in with when i KNOW i ovulated, but now I'm going to be positive and just ignore stuff that doesn't fit.Phew.
I didn't tell you DD is 22 months, absolutely adorable and exhausting!

thanks for doing the stats jacobandlysette!
Aquababe so glad scan went ok!
Potpourri have you been sharing germs here too? I'm just coming down with horrible fluey stuff :-(
Fingers crossed profplum xxxxx
Hope DH is still doing ok indigo
love and hugs to all of you on the list- and don't get the flu!

IndigoBlue · 05/09/2007 07:53

welcome to all the newcomers and congratulations!

I've started feeling a bit sick sometimes but it seems early as i'm only just over 4 weeks. Last time I felt sick from 5 and a half weeks so it's not impossilbe i suppose.

Dh is doing ok, he's getting back to normal so hopefully it'll be ok now.

mumofk that's great news, if I had access to a scanning machine it would be so temping to keep checking everything is going ok!

mumtomadison · 05/09/2007 08:22

Thanks all for being so welcoming, as mollymawk said it's good to share these early days with others in the same boat.
Aquababe - Glad your scan went well!!
IndigoBlue - Sorry to hear about your DH, hope u r both feeling ok, take it easy.
Goodcatholicgirl + Emmsy - Pleased to share EDD with you both.
Potpourri - Hope you are feeling better.
Professorplum - Hope you got another line yesterday, i'm pretty sure any faint line is still a positive. Keeping fingers x'd for you.
Jacobandlysette - Thanx for doing all of our EDDs.

After reading bobsmum and greenapples posts, it's assured me that achy pains in stomach are q.normal so i've decided not to worry unless i get any bleeding (although i did bleed with my DD and everything was still fine) oh, the worrys ey, non-stop for the next 8 months or so now. Then it starts all over again when they're born but sooo worth it!! So, don't fret Shellysara u r not alone when it comes to worrying, lets try and enjoy it, being a Mum is the most rewarding job you'll ever have!!
(Apologies all for my babbling, just excited)

greenapple · 05/09/2007 09:58

Also good reason to be preggers in winter is all that comfort food, yummyummy, cheese on toast, hot chocolate in front of the fire, stew and dumplings.....

And big cuddly jumpers and flannel pyjamas and nice warm baths
(well I would if we had any hot water, havent had it for 4 years so quite used to it!)

Hope all you girls well today, still got cramps but not as bad, though strangely seem to be worse after I've gone for a pee

EPAC nurse said that was unusual but I've always been like that before AF so trying v hard not to worry... and she said she wont scan me til next Monday cos she didnt want to worry me unneccessarily... so I'm off to Somerset today to tell my grandparents who are both in their 90's and could do with a nice treat!

Hi all!
Can I join the group too?
Am due at start of May 2008. Haven't told anyone except my husband! This will be our 1st and we are still in shock...only tried for one month so still reeling but dead excited!
Is it too early to go to doctors?

Hope everyone is well!

walkingwomb · 05/09/2007 21:04

Hey LondonIrish,

Congrats!!!!! I am Irish abroad too and am having my first as well. I have known for a week and a half now and am finding the not telling anyone business very hard. I am going to see my doctor next monday for a check up. When I rang them they said they like to get you in as early as poss and all hospitals appointmetns set up. very excited about that. I would have gone in this week but I am away for work all week (boo hiss).

Welcome!

bramblina · 05/09/2007 22:32

Damn just wrote a huge msg and got passowrd wrong and lost the lot!

Basically said, great news, mumofk,!

Saw dr, has referred me to mws and I'm getting excited waiting for them to call to book me in.
Going on a hen night in 4 wks with MIL and SIL how am I going to hide it?
Feeling slightly nauseous and still tingly boobs. Starting to get paranoid think I look pg and ILs will suspect! Got a slight tummy nowadays after having ds, (still a size 12 though but changed in shape!) at this rate I will not be able to sleep on my front at 6 months like I did with ds! Is it just me or are 2nd pregnancies much more obvious?!

Emmsy · 06/09/2007 06:19

Hello all,
really glad to know that Tuesday came and went with out any problems for most of us!
I can see Professor Plum hasn't been back though, I suspect that AF came, if not PP let us know?
I went to the clinic on Tuesday to get the pregnancy confirmed by an official, they gave me a letter to pass into my GP it did not have my EDC on it just my FDLP which was 29th July so I will have to wait until I am referred to the hospital for scan to confirm EDC. my cycles used to be 28 days but over the last 5 months they have fluctuated so I averaged my cycle to be approx 28.77
and I ovulated late last month "day 18" so EDC could be anywhere between 4th and 9th May 08? just have t wait and see!
Morning sickness still hasn't kicked in and boobs don't seem t be as sore so still a little worried (my symptoms stopped prior to my miscarriage in April)
I told Doctor in clinic that I was worried that my pregnancy test's haven't darkened in colour over a week & a half (no were near as dark as the control line) anyway she said that they don't tend to worry about the colour of the line as long as its clearly visible. I seem to remember all my previous pregnancies having a much darker result line! anyway I told you I would probably find something else to worry about didn't I!
good luck to everyone!!

mumtomadison · 06/09/2007 08:15

Glad things went ok on Tuesday Emmsy. I am due on the 5th and my boobs and tummy haven't changed a bit either, although my boobs got big + i felt bloated straight away when having DD. I have read that it's because your body doesn't need as much preparation for the baby as it does when you've already had a baby.
Think positive thoughts, although it is very hard to after a mc i know.It will be so much better after having your scan and you see the little bean!!

Glad you seem to be feeling better ShellySara, i didn't realise you had bled. Was it just implantation bleeding? Like i said before, i bled several times through out my pregnancy with DD and there was absolutely nothing wrong, they couldn't tell me why it happens either. It also happened to my SIL and she has a healthy DD too. Baby Dot will be fine!! Roll on the 12wk scans ey, def puts you at ease.

Hope everyone else is feeling good today. Take care XX

mumofk · 06/09/2007 09:17

Hi all, glad everything sounds to be achingly/dodgy tummy-ish normal for so many of us, and fingers crossed for everyone whos worrying about something- that's going to be all of us isn't it!!
My question is about being pregnant and still bf- does anyone know if I get to skip the boob fairy visit (I really, really hope so- they're more than big enough! ), and is it just my toddler is getting a little enthusiastic or should I expect tenderness when she latches on and 'jumps' off? I've had to tell her to be gentle, which hasn't been a problem at all before-not even when her front teeth came in.
indigo- the temptation is really awful. I'm actually glad I'm at home in bed with bad cold (!)- can't peek till next week now. By peeking (until this week!) all I've done is make myself worry sick that things weren't going like the textbook, when I've had no signs or symptoms to make me worry.Hind sight is great but I just wish I had willpower.Basically I should know better!
TIA for advice, hugs to all,
mumofk

goodcatholicgirl · 06/09/2007 09:18

Bramblina - I my SIL told me that 2nd and subsequent pregnancies can be more obvious visibly earlier on as your abdo muscles have already stretched from first baby. My friend looked about 6 mths by the time she was 16 weeks!!! But then she normally puts on 4-5 stone each pregnancy (she's tiny tiny size 8 normally so I figure it's karma biting her on the arse!! )

Anyway, I went to friends for dinner last night and they bloomin guessed I was pg. I am gutted cos I didn't want to tell them yet, I am only 5 weeks!!!!!!! I managed to avoid it all night until the end of evening when we started discussing what contraception we were using, and one of them asked me if we were still using condoms, and I said yes, then went bright red, and they asked if we were trying, and when I didn't answer within a millisecond then asked if I was pg. I couldn't lie, I am a good catholic girl after all!!! They are my bf's of 15 years, and I trust them, but I wish I could have been a bit further down the line.

Emmsy - not sure if I have go the wrong end of stick here, but if you have had mc and are now very worried re this pregnancy, join the club!!! Me too. There is a good thread on surviving pg after MC, I have just joined it. Look in 'pregnancy' on topic list.
